The Empire's ailing gay community today condemned President Benicius II for signing Senate Bill #45 - an act outlawing public homosexuality. It has been claimed that this Bill is in monstrous violation of gay rights which were previously non existent and seeks only to "force homosexuality under the bed".

The Minister for Culture has responded to this morning's minority condemnation in a statement from his office which proclaimed "visible homosexuality in all walks of public life is detrimental to social and family values; seeking only to undermine masculinity and normal behaviour."

Church leaders throughout Benicius came out in support of the Bill, though not surprisingly, militant fringe gay religious organisations staged violent flag burning demonstrations outside government and church buildings.

While the act does not ban homosexuality outright, it does however end its presence in public life. Already in the past few hours, 6 gay members of Benicius' parliament have been fired; along with over 100 public servants. Private sector employers are said to be following suit, with unknown numbers of 'outted' homosexuals set to lose their jobs in the coming weeks.

The Act comes in light of bill #44 which effectively abolished the anti-discrimination act of 1998 - thus making bill #45 legal under the nation's laws.

While the bill bestows on gays few rights, several amendments are said to be in consideration though we await further confirmation fro parliamentary sources.

One conservative senator has proposed an amendment to Bill #45, suggesting that gays be prohibited from superannuation benefits and all welfare such as unemployment transfers.

In an alarming turn of events, gay activists have descended upon several key government buildings in downtown Benopolis demanding the government reverse Bill #45 which took effect earlier today.

While protests so far have been peaceful, a large number of activists have threatened civil war against heterosexuality if their demands are not adhered to. This has been met with disgust from conservative members of parliament who claim such behaviour is an act of treason and only proves that gays are dangerous.

Former gay conservative MP, Rubbert Scholten came out in protest against the activists stating "civil war will only further give rise to hatred and suffering" - urging fellow homosexuals to remain peaceful despite the impact of the controversial bill #45.

And public opinion shows dwindling support for the recent bill as many employers fear they will lose good workers despite their sexuality and the textile, clothing and footwear industry (TCF) is under threat of collapse without gays big spending.

The latest internet polls show support for the bill at 51% - down 5 points since two weeks ago. Should this dive continue, it may very well put pressure on President Benicius II to reverse the bill; especially with the next election drawing nearer.

At 0400 this morning, a gang of communist, gay activists set fire to a childcare centre in protest at part of bill #45 which prohibits gays adopting children.

Two of the activists who have been caught by the Federal Police already are refusing to cooperate and instead have called for revolution against heterosexuals in what is being referred to by some as the PINK WAR.

Government officials in the Empire's capital have been consulting President Benicius II all day and have yet to decide what to do in the leadup to what is looking like civil war.

The street protests, however, continue in force.

It seems the crowd of angry Imperialistic Homosexuals grows smaller, and we have seen atleast two images of figured in black snatching some indivduals from the protests. It is unknown whom they are, but it is Speculated that they are Special Operation Teams.

The cause of the Special Ops teams is to arrest and re-educate the Imperialists to Heterosexuality in Defense of The Peoples Will and Voice. This is the first instance of the USSNR ever doing such a thing, and it could easily be the last. The governemnt of Tribal Gods wants the oppressed people of Benicius to know they have a home. We will welcome all political and social refugees to our nation. We feel that the government of Benicius is staging this supposed "Pink War" in order to further crack down on it's own citizens. While we respect the right of a sovereign nation to govern as it will, the International Council of Tribal Nations, headed by Tribal Gods, cannot watch innocents suffer. If the government of Benicius seeks to rid itself of it's "undesirables," we will proudly take them. This is not an issue of sexuality, but an issue of tyranny on behalf of the majority.

Only minutes ago, President Benicius II in the wake of the communist, homosexual acts of violence that have rocked the nation has announced an emergency sitting of the National Senate to soften controversial bill #45 so that homosexuals will be able to retain their jobs, however their marriage and adoption rights remain banned.

A revised bill will soon be forged and sent to the Benician Senate within the next week.

In the meantime, vicious communist, gay protestors are being dealt with by Federal Police and the National Guard. Tanks have been dispatched to scare off protestors and arrests are numerous.

All protestors caught shall be tried for treason under Benician Law.

I would firstly like to comment on the claimed special forces assualt by the rogue state of Nodea Rudav against the capital. The claims are completely false and no such operation took place.

Secondly, there is some concern that more conservative representatives are to blame for bill #45 and that there was some conspiracy to provoke homosexual aggression for the sake of eliminating what the right see as a cultural threat. I would point out that this is merely a rumour without substance.

Yes, it has been confirmed that the protestors are part of of a fringe homosexual rights group known as P.I.N.K. and yes that is an abbreviation...

The Holy Empire of Hatchibombitar wishes to express its alarm and dismay at the recent developments in Benicius. Reports from our embassy are confused and frightened. In the words of Ambassador Helen Fornick "This is not the Benicius I know and have come to love. The Benicians have been such gentle and kind people; I just don't understand!" In a brief statement, Foreign Minister Pom Palavi, IV, denied that Hatchibombitar will break off relations with Benicius: "The situation is very fluid, and we will watch carefully. Benicius has been an historic ally of ours, and we are not yet prepared to take any precipitous action to further destabilize the situation".

In a shocking and disturbing turn of events, President Benicius II has come out of the closet, admitting his homosexuality to the public.

Shockwaves were sent through the nation as it listened attentively to BNN's coverage of the President's address where he broke down in tears, proclaiming that he signed bill #45 only because the majority of the Senate approved. He simply, could not bear the strain any longer.

Having then stood down, President Benicius III took over amid much controversy with his prior approval of bill #45.

Having reshuffled the Presidential Cabinet, Benicius III has yet to make a press statement.
