I can confirm that at around 5am this morning a small expeditionary fleet of Cayan servicement landed on the currently unoccupied island of South Georgia. Before landing here the naval cruiser CNS Marti docked at Stanley harbour in the Falkland Islands to re-fuel.
The fleet then went on to South Georgia, and landed at Gretveken in order to explore the terrain and set up a temporary camp. The ending of this fleet follows the discovery of a document showing the Cayan purchase of South Georgia some 114 years ago.
Discussions are on-going on the possibility of establishing a permanent settlement on South Georgia, which would be benificial as there is little land available in Antartica to establish a research centre. The area is also ideal for fishing.
We have as yet not re-instated the old Cayan claim to South Georgia, and will not do so before consultation with the international community.
