The Disassociated Press (Gondolandia) reports.
TELEGRAPH HILL: A step closer to peace occured in Hatcham Woods today when the United Nations officially upgraded their catagorising of the country from Disputed Territories to Mildly Contested Territories.
This follows the Consortium Governments recent success in crushing the George Green Rebels who have plagued the country since it'd independence after the fall of Sixformia.
With all major rebel leaders caputured, their support bases wiped out, only a few remain who contest the Consortium. However the United Nations has yet to recognise the country as a democratic republic, until elections are held, elections which have been promised in theory by General Twattington, F.R.a.S.
The General himself said: "Soon, our country will know total peace. And if it doesn't, we'll nuke our enemies."
Cecil Lemmington-Warmsley, spokesman for the Consortium, said the General was making a light hearted joke to show he's in touch with the common man.
