WIG Landing Craft

http://www.links999.net/Science/hovercraft/images/volga-2b.jpg

The Petrel class WIG landing craft is one of the only out there. It can be deployed from a wide variety of landing support ships, and can safely operate in waves up to five feet and in ice conditions. The Petrel can carry 10 fully equipped infantrymen for up to 600 kilometers at a speed of more than 60 kph, in a composite armored fuselage capable of withstanding most cannon shells. It is armed with a dual SAM mount capable of accepting most modern shoulder-launched anti-aircraft missiles, as well as a .50 machine gun.

Cost: 20,000 USD

Gepard II Class Corvette

http://homepage.tinet.ie/~steven/images/gepard2.jpg

The Gepard II is the LRR modified version of the Gepard class corvette. Replaced by Bora, Skjold, and Bras d'Or class corvettes which are all faster and cheaper, the Gepards in our ship repositories are going for dirt cheap! Each Gepard II uses hydrogen fuel cell powered high-power waterjets which can propell the corvette to a maximum speed of 40 knots.

Each Gepard II is armed with either a 76mm automatic cannon or a Goalkeeper CIWS weapon. As well as this, the Gepard II can carry up to six SAM/ASM missiles, and while the regular armerment is the RBS 15, they can be rigged to carry most types of ASMs. The Gepard II also carries a RAM (rolling airframe missile) launcher which offers exceptional defense capability against almost all ASMs currently in use. The Gepard can engage all types of air and surface targets, and in most conditions can pick up stealth aircraft. Gepards can also carry Brevel UAVs, capable of extending their radar range up to 60 kilometers further than with regular ship-based radar.

Stockholm Class Missile Boat

http://homepage.tinet.ie/~steven/images/korvett_stockholm.jpg

Always a favorite among LRRN crews, the Stockholm has also been phased out of service due to the construction of the Bora II, Skjold MOD, and Bras d'Or missile/patrol boats. Nevertheless, it is an excellent vessel. Despite their small size the coastal missile corvettes have a striking power which, in some respects, exceeds that of other navies' destroyers and frigates. For active reconnaissance the corvettes have surface and air reconnaissance radar and for passive reconnaissance, equipment that senses the direction of other transmitting radar stations.

Armament: Eight RBS 15 surface to surface missiles, two type 613 torpedoes, four anti-submarine torpedoes, anti-submarine mortars, a 57 mm general-purpose gun and a 40 mm general-purpose gun.

Not used in signifigant numbers by the LRRN, the Dvora is nontheless an excellent patrol/special operations support vessel. IAI Super Dvora MK II is the newest and most capable purpose-designed world class patrol craft. A worthy heir to the achievements of the Dabur, Dvora and Super Dvora classes, the Super Dvora MK II incorporates the experience of more than 20 years of combat and peacetime operations in various navies around the globe.
The combat proven Super Dvora MK II is capable of performing all-weather coastal-oriented surveillance, search and rescue missions, providing protection against variety of threats and coordinating complex operations with other air, sea and land-based systems.

The Super Dvora Mk. 2 can reach speeds of up to 52 knots, and, while such speeds are common for the Bras d'Or and the other series of LRR missile/patrol boats, it is quite impressive for a standard-design ship. The Super Dvora Mk. 2 carries a single stabilized 25 or 30mm automatic cannon, and can mount a wide variety of light machine guns.

The MT-LB amphibious armoured tracked vehicle is fully amphibious, propelled in the water by its tracks. The low-silhouette MT-LB has a flat-track suspension consisting of six road wheels with no return rollers. The box-like welded steel plate hull has a crew compartment at the front, engine immediately behind on the left side, and a troop compartment at the rear which has inward-facing folding canvas seats for 10 infantrymen. The flat hull roof has two forward opening troop exit hatches. The infantry enter and leave the vehicle by two rear doors which are provided with firing ports. The total of four firing ports also include one on each side of the vehicle. The small turret to the right of the commander's position mounts a single 7.62-mm machine gun. Standard equipment on all vehicles includes an NBC protection system.

The MT-LB is an amphibious armored tracked vehicle with a low-silhouette, box- like hull made of welded steel plates and a small turret on the right front, mounting a single 7.62-mm machine gun. There are four firing ports, one on each side of the vehicle and one in each of the two rear exit doors. Two additional, forward-opening, troop exit hatches are located on the flat hull roof. The flat-track suspension consists of six road wheels with no return rollers.

The MT-LB can employ an extra-wide-track with an "aggressive" grouser to make over snow and swamp operations easier. The wide-tracked version, designated MT-LBV, has a track which is 565 mm wide compared to the normal 350-mm-wide track. The wider track reduces ground pressure from 0.46 to only 0.28 kg/cm2.

The MT-LB is a multipurpose vehicle. When used as an ARC or command vehicle, it can carry ten personnel besides its two-man crew (driver and commander-gunner). It also is used as a prime mover for various types of artillery. In this case it can also carry the artillery crew (six to ten personnel). It is frequently used as prime mover for the 100-mm antitank gun T-12. As a cargo and general transport vehicle, it has a cargo capacity of 2.0 metric tons (towed load 6.5 metric tons). The wide-tracked MT-LBV is used as a soft-terrain vehicle. The LRR MT-LB is armored to withstand small-arms fire and most light cannon.

FH 77B Artillery System

http://www.hrvatski-vojnik.hr/hrvatski-vojnik/922003/bpictures/1.jpg

The FH77 B is now integrated with a 6x6 all-terrain vehicle making it an extremely powerful, highly mobile artillery system. It's into-action time is less than 50 s.

An artillery sequence: into action; fire 8 rounds; out of action and move 500 m takes less than 3 minutes. The gun has a range of 30 km, it can fire 3 rounds within 13 s and a has sustained rate of fire of 8 rounds/minute.

On the move the gun crew is transported in an armoured cabin. The on-mount ammunition boxes, in effect magazines, have the same level of protection as the crew compartment.

The FH77 B has its own land navigation system, eliminating surveying and alignment and the complete system has very low LCC.

The FH 77 is used by LRR for coast defense, as its size makes it somewhat unwieldy during cross-country advances where MLRS and recoilless rifles can provide much better support.
