Mekanta murders thousands (Come here, Anti-Imperialists)

Mekanta
18-02-2004, 05:00
-Mekantan Central Intelligence Service Report-

A young woman with the tell-tale "eye streaks" identifying her as Mekantan and a humanoid AI sit behind a desk, looking seriously at the viewer. The woman speaks first.

"This morning, Mekantan forces struck at fifteen islands in the Omega Islands chains surrounding The Holy Empire of Mekanta. Most of which were uninhabited, and unsuited to biological life, but three of the islands are resisting Imperial advances, prompting suggestions that some of Mekanta's new orbital weaponry be tested on Rebel bases. Hereforth, the officials on the islands of Giren, Zare, and Gorith are considered enemies of the Empire. Execution orders have already been drafted for all 5,753 biological and mechanical soldiers resisting Imperial advances. In addition, variable termination orders have been given for the first 7,000 of the three islands' combined population of 43,932 people who resist Imperial occupation."

The machine raises a hand. "Incomming report. AI forces, dropped from orbit by our newly reunified brothers, have joined the battle. Rebel fortifications are expected to fall within the hour. Thank you, to our newly regained subserviant nation of Neo-Mekanta."

-Global Message-

"The Holy Empire of Mekanta wishes to inform the world that our advances on the soon-to-be-formerly independant islands of Giren, Zare, and Gorith are not motivated by greed, or spite, but a genuine need for materials."

"We do not expect mere biologicals to understand the necessity of taking these renegade islands, but our goals are just."

"If it takes the termination of 12,753 individuals to reach that goal, we see that as an acceptable situation. They are not, after all, citizens of Mekanta..."

(OOC: Most recent attempt to attract an anti-imperialist nation. Come on, people!)

"The Unity of Neo-Mekanta, after waging holy war against our Mekantan brothers, is pleased to announce that we have rejoined the Holy Mekantan Empire. May our unified front be a glorious one indeed..."

(OOC: I'm turning Neo-Mekanta into a semi-autonomous state under Mekanta's government, just FYI.)

OOC: I go away for awhile and look what happens!
This promises to be a good RP, provided someone else joins. To that end, maby you should change the title to something like "Mekanta kills 3,000 Dissenters" or something similar to get all those dogooder nations to look at it. :)

IC: Central Facehuggeria supports your nation, as per our alliance. However, we find it most disturbing that you would slaughter these people and machines. Couldn't they be put to a...better use? Reeducation camps are great for this purpose.

(OOC: Yeah, changing the title sounds like a good idea. I'm really hoping to make the anti-Imperialists mad.)

(And you seem awfully calm IC, seeing as Neo-Mekanta is now part of the Mekantan Empire again. You know, Achidna disaster and all. ^_^)

(On the plus side, now that you're back I don't have to worry about maintenance on the Phalanx... or building a new one. ^_^)

"Hmm... Very interesting..."

"Our superiors in Mekanta had plans to recycle dissenting machines into the Empire's new military regardless... But the humans could be useful as well..."

"Especially with our Revenant technology..."

The Neo-Mekantan ambassador AI begins laughing, an electric shock making it stop.

"... It does not appear my superiors in Mekanta approve of that... Very well... Neural Reprogram- I mean... 'Mekantan Re-Education' it is..."

(OOC: And on a similar note... I've lost count of how many times I've tried to post this... -_-")

"The Holy Empire finds the use of Revenant technology in this application atrocious. This simply opens the door for the wholesale slaughter of people."

"... But if some... misguided people, who challenge the Empire, were to rebel... I don't see why we should let them go to waste..."

"The soldiers will die, and the orders against any rebels stand. But only once Imperial troops are attacked will people be killed."

OOC: My leader has learned to forgive, especially since he know that Mekanta will keep an eye on their brothers. Speaking of which, how did they reunite?

Ohh yeah! The Phalanx is almost done, isn't it? :) Just need to contribute our two trillion USD to its operation, and we should be good to go.

IC: Central Facehuggeria also finds the use of Revenant technology in this application horrible. Revenant technology was one of the worst weapons used in the war. To use it except when absolutly necessary is a violation of the honorable rules of comat!

(OOC: Well, the Emperor of Mekanta isn't... how shall I say... gentle with his persuasions. He basicly has the Neo-Mekantan unity by the nutsack. And the other states, to come later, will be pretty much in a similar situation for different reasons. ^_^)

(Yeah, and the Phalanx IS almost done, isn't it? Heh. Fancy having two Megaguns in orbit... heh... Not that I'm planning on stabbing you in the back, taking over the installation, and using it against you in an evil backstab... No... Nothing like that at all...)

((Actually, I'm serious. I'm not. ^_^))

"Mekantan science has been utilized to better use Revenant technology than was used in the war against Neo-Mekanta. The new Revenants are no longer... as offensive to sight and smell..."

"But very well. Mekanta will not use the Revenant technology. Resisting forces and standing guard will, of course, still be terminated."

Damn! Lets see how we can attract dogooder nations.

Hmm...
Mekanta Performs genetic experiments on innocent civilians!
Mekanta Kills 1,000,000 civilians in island takeover!
Mekanta cleanses all 'impure' races on conquered islands!

Eh, those are my guesses for a new title. I wish someone would come in and post already!

Edit: I just noticed your title change. I hope that will get them coming.

OOC-Just because you all seem to be bored with the lack of "dogooder" nations

The Imperial Naval Republic of Unum Veritas and its various protectorates condemns this completely unnecessary violence and asks that a group of peacekeepers be sent to ensure the peace and to help Mekanta withdraw its imperialistic forces. These actions were completely irrational and irresponsible and the Veritasean government as well as the world community demands justification be given and damages be paid immediately.

(OOC: Neither am I. I just have advanced AI (IC thing. Mekanta and Neo-Mekanta are machine-run nations.) and compensated for Railgun technology with a complete lack of combustion engine knowlege. On a related note, to the owner of a white Honda parked outside the Mekantan embassy in Central Facehuggeria... We dismantled your vehicle to see how it ticked. Your loss. ^_^)

"We do not consent to the use of peacekeepers, and we assure you the termination of dissenters was absolutely necessary to ensure bloodshed was minimal."

"All surviving inhabitants of the island will be given partial Imperial citizenship, and will be relocated to... alternate... islands."

The Mekantan ambassador seems to mutter something under its breath. A fairly good ear can barely pick them up. "Namely the crappy ones..."

"No damaged will be paid, and you have your justification. Confirm, affermative or negative."

OOC-Man, I really regret that I don't have enough time to put into this RP to make it fun...it seems as if you actually know what you're doing and would be fun to RP with.

The Veritasean government wishes to reiterate its condemnation of this unnecessary violence. Once again we ask Mekanta to rethink its actions and its positions, military action, for example a blockade, would devastate your small nation.

OOC: I'm a future nation, but I'll try to leave most of my future tech equipment out of this. I'll just nix the powered armor...and Voila!

IC: On millions of television sets around Central Facehuggeria an older, greying man and a younger attractive newswoman are sitting at a desk. "Thanks Tom." The woman said. She continued "In other news, the Premier has authorized the deployment of The Black Fleet." The numbers of the black fleet flash on the screen:

1x Nimitz Nuclear powered aircraft carrier
2x Voodoo class battleships
10x Destroyers
3x "Cruisers" equipped with the AEGIS missile system.
15x Barracuda fast attack mini/fighter subs (This is the only late modern/early future type stuff I'll be bringing to this engagement unless you have objections.)
1x Ohio class missile sub, equipped with non-nuclear cruise missiles.
2x Los Angeles class attack subs.

The man took over for the woman. "It appears that these naval forces are being deployed to our old ally, Mekanta. Of course, the government hasn't told us anything but we'll keep our viewers informed!" He added: "When we come back, we'll show you a cute story about a three legged dog who saved a child from a nuclear testing site!

(OOC: Thanks, mate. You seem like a good RPer yourself. ^_^)

(Kind of unfair going up against Central Facehuggeria, and the Mekantan Empire. By default, Neo-Mekanta is embroiled in conflict the moment Mekanta is. That only means one thing: Orbital weapons.)

"We must warn you that your blockade will be quite ineffective. Mekanta is capable for surviving autonomously, and our contact with other nations is purely diplomatic as we've ceased selling robotic units to other countries just before our last major war."

"However, it has come to our attention our long-time ally of Central Facehuggeria has dispatched forces to assist us. As such, should we see any movement from any fleet, regardless of size, originating from your nation on a route to Mekanta, we will destroy them."

"Your human engineering is well known to us. We know of every flaw in your vessels. We know of your biological and tactical flaws. We will not hesitate to use our superior logical and tactical capabilities to exterminate any aggressive forces with extreme prejudice."

"You have been warned. Humans can never triumph over machines in direct war. We suggest you stand down any threats."

(OOC: IC stuff. ^_^ Mekanta has a tendancy to become rather cocky when dealing with "mere humans.")

20-02-2004, 04:21
(OOC: And of course, I'm just kidding about using the orbital weapons against you.)

(Unless, of course, you manage to overwhelm us and it becomes necessary... ^_^")

(Anyone else want a shot at the "evil machines killing people" and allies?)

General Axis sighed as he walked into Central Command, TacCom barking out orders rapidly in Mekantan. He walked up behind the other two Mekantan Biologicals, and shook his head.

"General Wolfe! General Nios! Report!" Axis shouted, the two lower-ranking generals nearly wetting themselves. They turned and saluted, blinking nervously.

"Sir! R&D says they still can't get the active camoflague on the new Soras to work, but the fighters should be ready in time." Wolfe said, nodding.

"Excelent. Nios, how're your Neo-Mekantan forces doing?"

Nios just chuckled. "We've been waiting for an opportunity to cross swords with some humans. I wonder how they'll like a few new holes in their ships. I'm confident our heavy railguns can do the job."

"Good. Keep me informed. TacCom, you have control."

(OOC- Despite our UN Classification, please treat our nation as a Left Wing Socialist State- we're underoging a government upheaval right now)
The News of the Mekanan Atrocitiy was slow to reach the Vexian Congress, but when it did arrive it brough fresh uproar, and further divided the 2 warring parties.
"In the Name of all that is right, we must dispatch our forces to destroy the foul meks*!" hollered Socialist Party Leader Ivan Stoyanovich.
"We must be cautious. Mekana is ten times more powerful than we are, and its allies could destroy Vexia ten times over single-handedly. Besides, They have done nothing we would not." retorted Democrat Pyotr Gagarin.
"Lies! They have done nothing YOU would not do. It seems you would add Imperialism to your party's long list of crimes!"
"And I suppose your Little Red Book tells you to make war on the infernal machine?"
The Arguement raged for hours, but in the end it seemed the Democrats won, and the official stance would be uninvolvement.

But unbeknownst to the Democrats, General Dimitri of the 3rd Army had Recieved orders to mobilize for war against Distant Mekana.
Perhaps Unsuprisingly, Mekana and its allies were to learn of this before the Democrats back in the Congress............

Unum Veritas is saddened by Mekanta's decision to ignore our requests and by Central Facehuggeria's foolish and rash mobilization of its puny naval forces. However, to ensure Veritasean safety, the Fouth Armada has been given new steaming orders and has been ordered to take all necessary defensive measures. Also, all Veritasean forces have gone to an increased alert status and will fire upon any Mekantan or Central Facehuggerian vessel that strays across their path. Again, we hope for a peaceful resolution to this incident and consequently ask Mekanta to respect the world community's opinion and not act unilaterally.

IC: "Premier, we've recieved a message from the Unum Veritas government. They have sent a massive fleet on a 'friendly visit' to our Mekantan allies."

"I see...Can I have the figures on this Veritasian fleet?" The premier took the paper and did a double take. "Jesus...That is a huge fleet! It could crush Mekanta single handedly! What are our options?"

The young secretary responded "Umm, well...we could advise our troops to stay out of the UV fleet's way. I mean, they wouldn't bombard the mainland without being fired upon, would they?"

"I don't know. Tell our ships to keep a safe distance from the UV fleet. Tell them to stay out of the UV fleet's way unless the Veritasian fleet opens fire on the mainland. Also, put out a travel advisory to all shipping around Mekanta. We don't want a war starting over this." (OOC: Right? OOC- I actually just realized I have a 5 day holiday (Mardi Gras owns) so if you want to make this a war then so be it. Also, my ships have not headed to Mekanta, they have received secret steaming orders (which could just be to go around in circles for hours) and have upped their alert level. Nios flexed the hand of his new Simulant body, feeling much stronger than before. "Aide. Send a responce to this... Itakeitall... Axis gave Neo-Mekanta control of this situation, correct?"

An aide nods. "Yes sir. Which corpse should I send them? We've 'prepared' a young woman, an older man, and a child."

Nios waves his hand. "The older man, of course. I assume..."

"Riddled with holes, as per specifications." The aide responded, Nios nodding his approval.

"Very good. Dismissed."

OOC- LoL, you're very lucky that I'm not being die-hard anti-imperialist here because that was only one of my armadas, of which there are a total of nine. However, how about we reach a compromise. I keep the incoming armada, but don't force a land invasion. I content myself with just lobbing some missiles at your interior and setting up a blockade, but not with actually taking your country over. I'll scale the numbers down a bit just because a force that large (over 400 naval vessels, not even including aircraft) is hard to RP in depth with. Revised numbers are below and then I'll start my section of the RP.

Well, that pretty well evens out because the geography isn't well suited for invaders.

1. The Omega Islands aren't very easy to navigate. There are only a few routes ships can go through to get around them without having their hulls ripped open by rocks, and they're full of chokepoints where I have heavy Railgun batteries. And ships. Don't forget the ships. (Is it okay if I don't give a full description of them yet? I haven't gotten that far...)

2. There's a constant storm going should you get closer to Mekanta itself. More problems. Especially for launching aircraft or using hovercraft.

3. Mekanta knows everything about the Omega Islands. I have the home field advantage. Information is being freely shared with Central Facehuggeria.

4. Mekanta itself is, basicly, a huge mountain. A natural, and augmented, fortress. Nothing really vulnerable to missile attacks except my Rail Launchers, but those are really far up and well protected by Point Defence cannons anyway.

So it fairly well evens up. Despite the fact that some people my size would pee themselves at seeing such huge numbers. -_-"

I'll post forces if it's okay that I don't have detailed descriptions up...

And now I can begin the actual RP...

"Admiral, we've been given new orders, sir," an ensign reported while handing the sealed fax to the commanding officer of the Veritasean Fourth Armada, Roger Emerson. Emerson took the envelope, slit it open, and quickly read the brief document before heading to the bridge of the UVS Atlantis, the single Elessar Class Supercarrier in the armada, and consequently, its flagship.

"XO, we've got a change of course. Give the order to bring the armada to the nation of Mekanta. Evidently we're setting up a blockade," Emerson told his executive officer who was conning the ship at the time.

"Aye sir, come right to new course zero-one-five and relay the order to all other ships within the formation," the executive officer said calmly before being responded to with a chorus of aye's. Admiral Emerson then strode to a phone hanging on the wall and picked it up,
"Crew of the UVS Atlantis and members of the Fourth Armada, this is Admiral Emerson speaking," his voice boomed throughout the gigantic carrier, "on my order this flotilla is now at DEFCON 2. This is not a drill. Any aircraft or naval vessel deemed a threat to any ship in this fleet will be fired upon. The standing Combat Air Patrol has been doubled and AEGIS systems are now on standby. We are headed to a country called Mekanta and hostilities are deemed imminent. Unless the situation changes, then we are ordered to blockade the entire country and basically starve it into submission. That is all."

A few minutes later several similar speeches were broadcast aboard every ship in the Fourth Armada and, as one, all of the vessels slowly shifted to starboard as their direction changed to take them to Mekanta.

The shallow areas are no problems---catamarans are a wonderful thing.

A constant storm? That seems a bit too convenient.

Do you possibly have a map of the area? Even if it is only a rough one.

And if you insist on the storm then I'll have to bring out my hole card.....the MOBO (Mobile Offshore Base of Operations). This floating city (quite literally, and its still basically modern tech) can launch aircraft as heavy as B-52's and becomes one hell of a command and control node. Do I need to order up some MOBO modules to begin construction?

Onboard the command ship of the CF fleet, the CFS Shiny Elephant

"Admiral! Long range radar is picking up the UV fleet moving in a classic blockade manouver around Mekanta! Your orders?" A radar officer called out.

The admiral whispered to himself "Damn. God forgive us." He continued in a louder voice so everyone would here, "This is Admiral Freely, all ships engage the UV fleet!"

"Sir! Are you crazy? They have many more ships than we do!"

"No. I've got a plan. Tell the Ohio to begin preping cruise missiles to hit the enemy command ship (OOC: The "Elessar" super carrier, right?) Battleships, focus on the carriers! All other ships protect the sub and the battleships! This will be our finest hour!" One could tell from the tremor in his voice that he didn't truly believe the words he spoke.

"Sir...Are we going to die?"
"No son, we aren't." He was lying there too.

Axis cursed as alarms sounded throughout Central Command. "What the hell is going on!?" He demanded, looking to one of his aides.

"A hostile fleet in en route to the Omega Islands. ETA unknown!" The aide said, blinking.

Tactical Command (TacCom) repeated the situation occasionally. "{SITUATION CODE RED. ENEMY FORCES IN APPROACHING. SPECIFIED UNITS -=-=-=-=- ARE IN ORDERS TO REPORT.}" The computer's voice boomed. Central Command broke into activity as previously dark monitors flared to life. The three Generals stood together on the main command platform.

"{To us report!}" Wolfe yelled, his Simulant voice box able to make use of the Mekantan language. "{Situation, give the status good or bad.}"

"{Large fleet of hostile presence.}" A humanoid robot said, connecting its fingers to control sockets. "{Numbers unconfirmed. Of many there are.}"

"{Our forces are ready, affermative or negative?}" Nios asked.

"{Affermative to which I respond, Honorable Leader.}" Another AI said, nodding.

Axis threw back the cloak of his uniform, grinning. "I rather like these new bodies, now." He gestured towards the main screen, grinning. "{Operation to begin on this mark I shall give. Execute program.}"

OOC-Where are ya'lls nations located in RL (to make logistics, etc easier)?

"Admiral Emerson, we're picking up radar emissions at the edge of our scope. We've got some active sonars evidently trying to acquire our position." a radar officer reported in the CIC of the Atlantis.

"Have we got a radar bird up?" Emerson inquired.

"Yes sir, we have two CSA's aloft currently along with 6 JSF's, 6 F-14E's, 6 F-23's, and a collection F/A-18's on the catapults, ready to lift off," the air-wing commander replied promptly.

"If we were to engage now, what would our likelihood be of success if we used surface-launched cruise missiles?" the Admiral asked his chief surface warfare officer.

"Sir, they are at the very edge of our passive radar envelope. We wouldn't even know about them if they hadn't gone active. Thus, unless we switch on our own radars and give away our position, then I would say a 25% chance." the officer replied. Emerson paused a moment before turning to the chief airedale,
"And what about an aerial strike on these ships?"
"We could do it sir, but we don't know how many there are and thus could be risking planes unnecessarily."
"Well, what can we do?" Emerson demanded angrily.
"We don't actually have to do anything, sir. Those ships are probably only seeing the very front of our forces on the edge of their own radars. Even if they do launch and miraculously some of their missiles get close enough to do any damage, we still have our entire AEGIS screen, not to mention the CIWS mounts. We're are very well guarded. I'd recommend sending in some Sea Shadows (stealth ships, thus relatively invisible to radar) and taking a few potshots at them, while subs and other assets get within range," an ensign fresh from the Academy suggested.
"Fine, do it. And if this works, then consider yourself promoted," Emerson said.

Ten minutes later a pair of Sea Shadow stealth assault ships detached themselves from the main group and sped forward under the cloak of secrecy. Once within range of their missiles, the Shadows switched their radars to active, alerting the enemy of their presence, and quickly fired off a total of 10 BrahMos supersonic anti-ship missiles before disappearing again and speeding back towards the cover of the main armada.

OOC: Actually, this will be my first naval engagement. :P So don't expect it to be too good. :)

IC: Onboard the CF Command ship;

"Admiral! Anti-ship missiles incoming!"

"Tell the cruisers to take them down! Make sure the Phalanx II CIWS system is tracking! Wait a second...where did the missiles come from?"

"Some small stealth ships managed to sneak close enough to launch their missiles."

"Check the radar. How many ships do we see?"

"Four, sir."

"Just four? Hmm... Damn, we went active too soon. We could've gotten closer. *sigh* Oh well. Deploy fighters. I want good aircover. Make sure the anti-sub units are on full alert. I don't want any subs sneaking up on us. And tell the battleships to stop firing. Wait for them to get closer! Then, we'll encircle them with the battleships and hopefully come out of this alive! Damn, I wish the Premier would've given us more ships. Or me more training..."

OOC2: My navy recieves the worst funding and training of all my armed forces.

Edit: I didn't notice how many missiles you fired. Alright, now to calculate losses:

3 of the missiles got through and seriously damaged one of the cruisers and damged one of the battleships (this one is still in fighting shape however.)

So... 1 Cruiser has to withdraw.
One battleship is damaged and needs only a few more hits to sink.

OOC3: If you think there is something wrong with these numbers, please tell me as I'm not familiar with your model of anti-ship missile.

He accepted.

And I believe the MOBO being modern tech. No futuristic technology would be required to build something like that.

Actually the MOBO would be pretty darn safe considering it is surrounded by all of the ships in the Armada as well as its own, secret, defenses. Now, about these robots that seem to be running rampant everywhere in a moderntech RP. I am assuming that they are just as easy as humans to kill, else this RP won't last for very long. Also, my ships aren't quite near your islands yet...they're still on their way there, trying to get through the CF fleet that is blocking their way. Secondly, where is the actual nation of Mekanta in reference to these Omega Islands? You see, I'm not attacking the islands, I'm attacking Mekanta's homeland instead.

Central Facehuggeria-
No, you're doing fine. Naval battles are sorta difficult to RP without knowledge, but basically your numbers are fine. I should caution you, however, that battleships are pretty useless against modern fast-attack missile cruisers and such. Now, let me give you a very brief description of how you should RP radar. Most battle groups leave their radars and sonar in passive mode. This means that they don't broadcast many radar or sonar emissions themselves, they just listen for emissions coming from other groups. Once they see that there is a large group of ships giving off strong radar emissions, then they'll try to sneak in a bit closer and then go active. As soon as their radars go active, the enemy knows they're there. Its a dangerous balance that has to be struck. Now, I'll come back in a little while and respond to the actual RP section.

Machines are naturally more durable than humans, but they're far from invincible. Yeah, an AK-47 will kill them, but with a bit more ammo than would be required to kill a human. The tradeoff is that it costs more to make a soldier for me. You just have to clothe and equip yours. I have to build mine. (Power and food are pretty much equivalent. ^_^)

Mekanta is at the center of the four Omega Island chains, so there's no way of getting to Mekanta without going through the islands. Your soldiers will be able to start to see it once they reach the outskirts of the islands. It's a gigantic mountain, so it won't be hard to spot.

The 3rd Army is rather outdated and badly in need of an overhaul, but its troops are relatively confident and well-trianed, especially the Red Guard, who
are Fanatical Socialist Warriors who have been taught to fight to the death.

General Dimtri Growled. His Army had been shortchanged, cutback, and weakened by the Democratic Congress for long enough. But the Revolution he had been promised was not to see him at his head.
He was to go with the Unum Verasian Fleet, and invade the Omega Islands, far from Vexia.
As he spoke, he knew the first Wave of Red Guard would be flying into Mekantan Airspace in old C-47's.
They hadn't a hope in hell of disabling that Fortress Mountain's Railguns. But they were going to try anyway.
He did not envy them- but he had a task barely easier.
His troops and equipment would be arriving in Omega Island Waters in a few hours- and they had virtually no escorts.
The Vexian Navy was a joke- with less than 10 miles of coastline, They had little if anything in the way of a Fleet. So Dozens of LSTs had been stolen, bought, hammered together to carry the army into Omegan Waters.
Overhead, the MiG-19's sacnned the sea and sky for Mekantan Ships, but it looked like the Foreign Fleet was distracting them enough to allow them to get this close.
But would they make it all the way?
"Sir, We've recived a comminque from the Congress. We're to head back immediately and recall the Red Guard."
"Are you sure you heard that correctly, lieutenant? This ship is so old and decrepit, it's possible the Radio has become broken or irrepably damaged wiht all this shaking about. And i'm sure the Mekantans are jamming the airways."
"Yes sir- I think i understand, sir."
There would be no Reinforcements- there would be no support.
General Dimitri was sure his army would never return.

OOC- LoL, Mardi Gras isn't until Tuesday...I'm just "prepping"

But guys, give me some time for my responses, I'll reply, it might just take some time.

"Admiral Emerson, the Sea Shadows are back under the fleet's protective bubble. They report successful missile launch and probable hits, however casualties are unconfirmed at this time," an ensign reported as he ran into the Atlantis' CIC.

"Very good, initiate Phase Two, launch Phase Four, and prepare Phase Three," Emerson responded, "Are we within radar range yet?"

"We are sir, however we must go active if we are to have any success in your proposed attack," the chief radar operator said before being cut off by a junior surface warfare officer,
"Sir, we don't all have to go active. Instead, send the ships you wanted to use to a different location, have them go active and attack, and then it'll help to confuse the enemy as to exactly where we are."

"Damn, should I just fire all of my senior officers and promote the junior ones?" Emerson demanded with a grin, "This is the kind of thinking I like: the creative kind. Give me more of it people! Now, let's follow this man's idea-move the Arsenal Ships forward and to the right of the main formation and give them release authority."

Emerson's orders were relayed to the several Arsenal Ships within the Armada and they began to shift away from the rest of the ships. The Tactical Display aboard the Atlantis showed the dots that represented the Arsenals detaching themselves from the blob that was the main formation, however Emerson didn't have time to watch the rest of their progress because his reverie was interrupted.

"Sir, Phase Two has been iniated," the submarine liason officer reported.

"Excellent."

Two Virginia Class Future Attack Subs, two Seawolf Class Attack Subs, and three Los Angeles Class Fast-Attack Subs had snuck forward and were currently launching torpedo attacks against the enemy fleet. The subs had been ordered to fire a total of 5 wire-guided torpedos, 7 homing torpedoes, and another 7 MK-50 torpedos at the enemy ships. As soon as the subs had finished launching their munitions they sped back towards the Veritasean main formation, except for the subs that had launched the wire-guided torps. They were forced to remain there until the torps had hit their targets or completely missed. Following news of this attack, Phase Four was launched. Twelve F/A-18 Super Hornets equipped with anti-ship missiles, mines, and even a few special depth charges sped towards the CF ships with an escort of 4 F-14E Ultra Tomcats, 4 F-23 Black Widow II's, and 4 F-35 Joint Strike Fighters armed for air-to-air combat. The Hornets, as soon as they were within range, launched their missiles and dropped the mines and depth charges amidst murderous anti-air fire coming from the various ships.

Emerson sat thoughtfully in the commander's chair in the CIC. He had now launched a cruise missile attack, a torpedo attack, an aerial attack, and was planning yet another, major attack against the ships blocking his path. What to do next? He pondered for a minute before one of his lessons from the Academy came back to him. The obscure battle in the DT/FW war surfaced in his memory and a sinister grin spread across his face...

OOC- Vexia, are your forces pulling out or staying in?

"Admiral, High Command reports that a nation known as Vexia wishes to cooperate with us and that they currently have troop transports in the vicinity. We've got their naval and aerial transports on our scopes. The planes appear to be old C-47's and are already taking a beating from Mekantan defenses. Their ship transports haven't been fired upon but they are practically unescorted and will not survive an attack." a communications officer said.

Damn, my concentration is interrupted due to a small, meddling nation. Oh well, at least they're on the "good guy's" side. Emerson thought to himself.
"Okay, put some jets up and send them in to help the aerial transports, and get a Sea Shadow or two in behind the jets to start blasting at the Mekantan embedded defenses. Send a communique to the Vexian ships and tell them to join up with our formation for the time being. Later on we'll give them some escorts and a separate mission, but the battle is confused enough as it is right now."

"Aye, sir."

Emerson then walked over to his command and control officers and whispered his latest plan to them. Each of the officers grinned in return and began sending out routing orders to various craft within the formation. This move would certainly catch whatever was left of the CF fleet off guard.

OOC- Okay, I'm going to give you time to respond to my attacks on the CF fleet and to worry about my next two attacks that I've described. This next portion of my post is focusing on a different aspect of the campaign so I guess CF can ignore it because it really only deals with Mekanta.

Two Sea Shadows followed after the various aircraft that had been sent to help the Vexian convoys. They pulled within missile range of the Mekantan mountain and began using radar and infrared to scan it. They knew they were in a dangerous position, with the other Omega Islands in such near proximity, but orders were orders. As the various likely spots of Mekantan missile defense systems appeared on the Sea Shadow's display, targetting information was relayed to the missiles in individual silos. Once each Tomahawk cruise missile had a target, the hatches were opened and a total of 50 of the missiles hurtled towards the gigantic mountain and its built-in defenses.

OOC- Yeah sorry, I tend to make long posts because those make for better story lines. I'll try to be shorter now.

The Arsenal Ships, which had detached themselves from the rest of the formation suddenly opened their hatches and launched a torrent of cruise missiles. 20 BrahMos, 25 Tomahawks, 10 Harpoons, and 10 Fasthawks were launched at the remaining ships in the CF fleet. One-third of the missiles launched were aimed at the single carrier in the hope of at least damaging it and preventing it from carrying out any more aerial operations.

In keeing with Admiral Emerson's idea, as the missiles streaked overhead and towards the enemy ships, twenty Pegasus Hydrofoil Patrol Craft, ten Visby Class Corvettes, and ten Weathered Class Torpedo Boats sped towards the CF position in order to finish off whatever the cruise missiles missed.

We only have a destroyer left, in addition to the subs and this carrier. Wait...We have even worse news, Admiral! The reactor was hit. It is still functioning, but it may go critical at any time. What are your orders, sir?"

"God. Alright, we will do what we can. Send the subs and the destroyer to Mekantan naval bases. No point in wasting any more lives. Do we know the position of the enemy fleet?"

"Aye sir, the spy sat we had detached over to this area picked them up just a minute ago..."

I'm working on a map now, (in between work) but just to give some idea of the scope of the Citidel of Omega (Mekanta's Region) I'll be giving a basic description.

The Citidel of Omega, both islands and mountain, are situated in the Pacific Ocean between Australia and North America. The region is roughly 1,500 miles in diameter, with the Omega Islands taking up about 2/3 of that. The storm starts about 700 miles into the chain, and stops only once it reaches the mountain . The mountain reaches a staggering hight of 50 kilometers above sea level. Mekanta's forces have memorized every detail of the Region, and have placed defensive features virtually everywhere. Any hostile force inside the Islands

(Anyone who cries godmod can kiss my ass. It's a bloody rock! I think it gives Mekanta character...)

Oh, and reinforcements are en route. Just sit tight.

Just FYI: Mekanta sees no distinction between ships and submarines. As such, ALL Mekantan ships are capable of going underwater.

"General, Unum Veritas is sending ships to escort us, and they are covering our advance- but they want us tyo move into their fleet's formation."
"Do it. We need all the help we can get. If we are to re-capture the Omega Islands we're going to need more naval and aerial support."
The 3rd Army's Fleet shifted course towards the distant Unum Veritasian Fleet, and above the MiG-19's followed suit.
On the Horizon, the First Omega Island could be seen, and beyond it could be made out the towering mountain of Mekanta.

Meanwhile, Above Mekanta..........
"Colonel, those Machines are shredding our planes! We've suffered heavy losses, and we're still a few miles from the DZ."
Colonel Uri winced. He knew this would be a suicide mission. Everyone knew. But the Pride of Red Vexia was At stake. If Mekanta were beaten in this engagement, then the Socialist Party back home would be justified in its actions and could retake the house majority in the Congress, and Socialist Presecution would end.
But that was a pretty big If.
"Sir! Enemy tracer fire incom-"
The brave soldier had no time to finish his sentence, as Mekantan AA fire tore through the plane. Colonel Uri lept from the plane, and saw the aerial aramada above and behind him collapsing under enemy fire.
Beneath him was the machine mountain, and around him was enemy fire.
He pulled the ripcord, and was yanked back by the released parachute.
He was nowhere near the intended target, but that didn't matter.
He watched as hundreds of other Red Guard soldiers parachuted down, many being shot down in mid-air by the deadly accurate machines.
He somehow managed to survive enemy fire, and landed on the mountainside.
ahead, several machine soldiers were coming towards him and the other surviving Red Guard...........

The Shinigami type, you'll encounter quite a few of those, have swords with zircon chainsaw-edges. The Garou type is really your problem now, since they're the ones that patrol the outside of the moutain. They're basicly mechanical wolves with strong enough jaws and necks to bite through metal and rip it apart. They also have sharp claws, zircon-chainsaw-swords on thier shoulders and hips, railgun tails that rotate to their backs to fire. And they run fast. About 175 miles per hour. Good luck. ^_^)

Several sets of eyes locked onto the Red Guard soldiers, and the first Machine they could see closely stepped into view.

It was a wolf-like robot, with large dangerous-looking fangs and blades issuing from its shoulders and hips. It stared at them a moment, then issued a loud, headache-inducing screech. Hundreds ran into the area as the first leapt, ready to attack...

Uri swore violently when he saw the metal wolves.
Luckily, the Socialist Party had surprisingly anticipated heavy machine resistance(perhaps the fact that they were invading a machine nation actually made its way through their thick skulls) and EMP Grenades had been provided for all men above Sargeant rank.
"Stay close, men!"
The Red Guard huddled close, and whilst some took out grenades, others unslung their AK's and opened fire on the mechanical beasts.
The creatures moved with blinding speed, and other shung back and fired their railguns at the men.
Uri roared with rage as the beasts tore their way through the men surrounding him.
He pulled the pin out of one of his EMP grenades, and dropped it back into his backpack, containing the rest of his EMP grenades. he then threw the sack into the mass of the metal wolves.
The Grenades exploded, and dozens of the wolves collapsed as their circuits fried.
but hundreds more remained...............
Uri realized that unless help was forthcoming, he was going to die pretty soon...............

1. A public apology from the Mekantan government for their actions against the Omega Islands.

2. Financial compensation to the families of all the victims slaughtered by Mekantan forces.

"Yes sir."

"Alright, vector in the patrol craft we sent out and have them chase down the retreating ships. I want all of the enemy sunk. Now, about this carrier... Have the guided missile cruisers, destroyers, Sea Shadows, and Arsenal Ships begin blasting the thing. Order the subs to torpedo it heavily, bring the torpedo boats in and have them do the same. OOC- Please explain your railgun technology. Also, you are beginning to push the limits of a reasonable, modern-tech RP with your perpetual storm, machines that aren't susceptible to EMP, mechanical animals that run 175mph, and the fact that all ships go under water (which I'm assuming means that they are all just submarines and you don't have any surface ships). Also, if you're going to RP a sneak attack using underwater vessels, then you ought to know that it is not very likely it would succeed. As soon as I started using active radar then everyone knew I was there, so my sonar went active as well. Your vessels would be spotted far before they got within attack range. You might want to revise that so I'll give you a chance to do so, however if you decide not to, then I'll respond to it.

"Launch some heloes to pick them up and bring them aboard. They are to be treated with all appropriate courtesy, they have fought bravely and should be treated accordingly. Now, what is the status of the carrier?"

"It hasn't stopped, sir. Its slowly taking on water and apparently we had at least one good hit to its engines, but its still coming," a techinician reported dejectedly.

"Fine. Get all the carriers out of its path. Its rudders ought to be demolished, so it can't turn and pursue any ship. Let's simply clear a corridor and allow it to pass right through us. Meanwhile, continue to hammer it and bring it down at all costs." Emerson ordered grimly.

"And if it just won't stop?" a young officer wondered aloud.

"Then we abandon a medium-sized ship right in its path and hope to take it down that way."

Crap, you went Active, didn't you? I'll look back and see which happened first, you switching to Active Radar or me firing.

Storm: Geographic thing. There's a lot of geo-thermal heat in the area, which keeps the water warm at all times. The right conditions are, therefore, always present for a storm occurring. Normally if a storm stays in one place it blocks the sun and makes the water too cold to evaporate fast enough to keep fueling it. But, the geothermal situation solves that problem

EMP: Alloys. Basicly just my answer to haz-mat suits. If Humans can protect themselves from biological and chemical weapons, why can't Machiens protect themselves from EMP.

Garou: Very strong leg actuators, not much armor, little wind resistance, poor speed calculation robots. I classify unit descriptions as Semi-IC. (True IC would be a Mekantan R&D report.) If you were to check its speed with a radar gun IC, you'd see it's not quite that fast. ^_^

Ships: Essentially, yeah. Original designs. All the ships are made to operate both under water, and on the surface.

And first in your post, but last in mine...

Mass Driver Technology (Railguns and Gauss Cannons): The principle is the same in all situations. An electromagnetic field that flings things at high speeds. A really powerful one can throw a slug at about mach 20, if I've read some of the calculations right...
22-02-2004, 23:26

We've made a call for two more hospital ships because the two we have operating currently are already full with those most severely injured. Both of the hospital ships have broken off and are headed back to the homeport. The Mercy, Oracle, and Ravendhi were all completely demolished by the explosion. Rescue operations are currently underway but we expect only minimal results. So that's two frigates and a destroyer completely gone. Two other destroyers, the Glycerine and the Thalbot, were damaged and are also heading back to port with the hospital ships. One of the Nimitz carriers reports damages to its flight operations deck and repairs have already begun. It should be back online in a few hours. Until then, its planes that were aloft will be landing on our carrier and on the other Nimitz.
Now, we've got replacements for the other ships on their way: 2 Zumwalt destroyers, 4 AEGIS cruisers, 4 ASW frigates, and a few more Sea Shadows. They ought to be arriving with the new hospital ships in about 2 days. I've ordered the attack submarines forward to fill our ASW gap and have rearranged the AEGIS cruisers to get the AA net back up. Also, the patrol craft you sent after the retreating CF forces report firing torpedoes and missiles at a single destroyer before breaking off and returning back to the formation. They are currently five miles out from the protective nets." the Fourth Armada's fleet operations officer reported from behind sunken eyes.

"Son, you look exhausted. Get some sleep, we can last a little while without you." Emerson said kindly.

"Yes sir, basically the explosion hurt us. It blew a corridor straight through our defenses, but we can patch it up rather quickly. High Command has also authorized the use of another Armada if you'd like to request it. Its going to pre-position itself a few miles behind us, but will remain out of the conflict unless you request its help."

"Which Armada?"

"Second, sir. Its CO is Admiral Jeff Black and it should arrive in 3-4 days."

"Very good, now get back to your quarters and sleep for a minimum of ten hours. I don't want to see a second before then! Dismissed."

And with that, the operations officer stumbled out of the CIC and back to his bunk. Emerson sat quietly, knowing the initiative had been taken from him. Now, how to regain it again, how to make them start reacting to my moves rather than vice versa? he wondered to himself.

"I want a map of Mekanta's homeland!" he suddenly barked, startling everyone in the dimly lit room.

"Here sir," a young ensign said eagerly, while spreading a map on the table.

"Is this the capital city?"

"Yes..."

"Excellent. Get four Nighthawks aloft and feed this data and these targets into their onboard computers," Emerson said while circling random things on the map. An hour later four F-117 Nighthawks were cruising towards the giant mountain on the horizon.

OOC- In case you aren't familiar with the Nighthawk, it is a RL jet that is one of the most advanced in the world. Only one has ever been shot down and it is believed that that was pure luck. The F-117 utilizes advanced stealth features so that it is basically invisible on radar and its heat suppression baffles any attempts at locking onto it through infrared. Basically (not to sound arrogant or anything) these jets are very, very bad news for you. The only good thing is that in order to make them capable of carrier takeoff and landing I had to rework them and they lost quite a bit of their total bomb-carrying capacity, so I won't be able to wreak as much damage as I'd like.

OOC- I Wonder if those Nighthawks might make a detour and aid my embattled Red Guard............... not that Vexia would ever ask for such help, nor are they currently capable of doing so.
But you never know......

The First Vexian Transports were in range of the closest Omega Island.
In a few minutes, they would send small boats loaded with marines to secure the beaches.
It was still unclear what sort of coastal defences the Mekantans had installed- but barbed wire, mines, and pillboxes were expected, and the stalwart marines had been armed and briefed accordingly.
The VX-2 Bomber Squadron detached itself from the ecsorting MiG-19 Squadron, and flew in low(about 1,000 feet above ground)
and unleashed a payload of cluster bombs onto the island beneath.
This was partially to take out the unknown defences, but also to create chaos and foxholes for the marines.

Meanwhile, back on Mekanta Mountain..........
"AAARGH!" screamed a soldier as the Garou leapt onto him and tore him to shreds.
The Red Guard had fallen back into a tighter circle, and more were joining them from above.
It seemed any attempt to deploy further uphill had been abandoned and they were now trying to secure an LZ down at the base of the mountain.
Uri emptied a whole clip trying to take out one of the beatss, but it moved too swiftly.

But since it almost ran right into an RPG, he didn't feel too bad.
But they were running low on ammo, and he'd had to salvage most of his from fallen comrades.

Flight of four F-117 Nighthawks
Flying at high altitudes over the waters surrounding the Omega Islands
Heading to Mekanta

******************************

The four planes, commonly known as the Black Jets, flew above cloud cover until the peak of Mekanta became visible, at this time, in accordance with secret orders, two of the jets broke away and headed low towards the mountain, while the other two continued towards Mekanta' capital.

The two jets headed towards the base of the mountain and one of the pilots glanced out of his window at a furious fire-fight taking place below him. He caught the other pilot's attention and motioned towards the scene. Both jets then dropped their noses and swept in low over the fight. Their bomb bays opened and several pounds of munitions, food, weapons, and other supplies dropped towards the embattled Vexian soldiers. On the second pass the two fighters dropped several napalm cannisters over the mechanical animals and watched as the ultra-hot liquid fuel went up in flames and spread across that portion of the mountain. The two pilots then waved at the Vexian soldiers, unable to give any other help at this time, and headed back towards the Mekantan capital to join up with their two wingmen.

One problem with that plan.

1) No maps of Mekantan cities exist. Any scouts or spies outside of Mekanta who tried to get in were exterminated, and no hard copies of Mekantan maps exist. All of the cities are inside that mountain, and there's not really much to blow up on the outside save the Rail Launchers and air bases, but those are replacable. Not to mention defended with advanced-tracking defence turrets that will riddle anything in the skies with holes. Butterflies and falling leaves have been brought down by these things. (Not really. Neither of those can really get up that high.) But regardless, EAT HOT HYPERVELOCITY DEATH!!

2) The capitol (Mekanta Prime) is in the core of the mountain. It's not bombable unless you land troops. And good luck getting inside. Mekanta is paranoid and nothing gets inside without fighting through automated and military defences. It's called a Citadel for a reason. ^_^

5) Bad news for your jets. Mekanta doesn't rely too heavily on radar. It's mostly visual and motion tracking. Which means, your jets are just as much turret chow as anything else in the skies.

4) Incomming.

-Mekantan Central Command-

"{Of Hostiles, bombers located in -=-=-=-=-=-. Visual lock established.}"

Axis smirked. "{Our fighters, to scramble at once. Turrets to defencive of level 1.}" He used a command interface to highlight the area of the mountain the Hostiles had been seen in. "{Of Hostiles, to have maps of fault. To believe our capitol to be on the surface. Defensive turrets, to remain offline. Of when sector reach priority check, to activate all turrets. To trap them there. To exterminate them.}"

Wolfe coughed. "{Of Hostile units, intelligence information have been given. Difficult to track by radar.}"

"{Visual locks already established. Of Mekantan Units, enough to have.}" Axis responded, looking around. "{To have objections, affermative or negative?}" When the room was full of negative responces, he nodded. "{Execute program.}"

-Mountain-

The Garou screeched as the supplies dropped, not wanting the humans to get anything new. More Garou had been comming, though mostly to drag off the defeated Garou and any humans they could get back to caves a good distance up the mountain...

-Higher Up-

-=-=-=-=-=-... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-... -=-=-=-=-=... {Sector has reached priority check. Execute program.}

As soon as the jets were in the right spot, defense turrets revealed themselves, popping out of their nearly-invisble camoflagued anti-radar shells. The fatal aim, leading, and tracking systems of the turrets filled the sky with hypervelocity death, and he situation only got worse.

-=-=-=-=-=-... -=-=-=-=-... {Mekantan Units, to approach.} -=-=-=-=-=... {Compensate} -=-=-=-=- {Mode change.}

A camoflagued door opened, and Mekantan fighters broke out. The fighters and turrets worked in perfect synch, making the skies above Mekanta a very dangerous place to be...

-Message to Hostile Forces-

[code:1:96f9f22194]"Well hello there. Couldn't help but notice you stopping by. Should have called ahead. I could have made coffee."

"Just called to tell you we can see everything you do. So why not come by for a chat?"

"Oh, and by the way... You might want to stay away from the shores. The Mechanos are in their mating season right now. Want to know how they breed? Because no, you don't really. Let's just say you'd damn well better have good surgens, because baby Mechanos eat their way out of thier unwilling host. Just a friendly reminder."

"Our Neo-Mekantan soldiers get rather irate when wildlife kills their enemies before they do."

"Go ahead and enter the Omega Islands. We'll be waiting for you. Trust us."

OOC-Ever heard of bunker busters?

Now, enough is enough already. this was supposed to be modern-tech RP and frankly, modern tech armed forces do not have mechanical animals running around, a completely submersible navy, an entire country inside an impenetrable mountain, nearly perfect AA batteries, and weapons that use only visual guidance. Why don't they have that? Because it isn't possible. Visual guidance in particular is impossible...no modern system is capable of triangulating like that and then doing the physics necessary to guide a missile to intercept it. If such technology did exist, don't you think the US would already have it in service? I'm going to have to ask you to revise some of this stuff before the RP goes to hell.

"Admiral Phreet," Emerson responded over the guard frequency, "glad to have ya with us! What is the makeup of your fleet? Over."

Not a surprising reaction to a first-contact with Mekanta.

If you were intending on using bunker busters against the Capitol, you're not going to get anywhere. The damn thing is too far under that mountain. Which, mind you, you were told about previously. I didn't hear any complaining then. It's a bloody rock, and I could pull the same shit with flat ground. I just have to dig more.

Basicly, I pulled off a big balancing act with Mekanta. I re-arranged some tech-levels to come up with advanced-modern. (That "advanced" was previously stated.) There's about a 15-30 year difference in basic technology between Mekanta and the modern US. That's an allowable difference in most cases.

One of your critical errors is assuming visually guided missiles. There are no missiles in Mekanta. (No idea how to make them.) Visually aimed AA guns, however, are nothing new. Hell, they existed in World War Two.

Mekanta is a nation run by AIs with a completely passive Biological population, and I sacrificed quite a few things to balance that out. (It wasn't until a few alliances and wars back I got the technology I needed to make fighters, and only by stealing it and trading technology with my allies to fill in the gaps.)

If you want to see something out there, I'd be happy to show you exactly how much I can push the envelope of modern. I removed the orbital weapons, (you wouldn't have gotten within miles of the Omega Islands if I didn't) so I'm so very sorry (</sarcasm> in case you couldn't tell) for trying for something a little different than twenty-thousand other nations.

You have me outnumbered, what? 4 fleets against me? Sorry for not making it the stomp-fest you might have been hoping it was.

And it's just come to my attention that the last parts of this post were rather sarcastic and generally pissed off. Sorry 'bout that. But no, I'm not editing them.

Uri and his men cheered as the Nighthawks dropped supplies and ammo down onto the beleaguered Red Guard.
Revitalized, they fought on with renewed determination, and now they had better weapons and equipment to do it with.
"Push them back! Not one Step Backwards!" cried Uri, as they threw themselves into the fray.
The Garou tore most of them apart, of course, but whilst they were busy doing this, Uri and ohers could fill them full of lead.
It seemed the Tide was turning...............

A Whistle blew, and the ramp lowered. Sargeant Chekov grippied his AK-47 tightly.
The Marines roared, trying to forget Saving Private Ryan and the rough but mercifully brief voyage from the LSTs to the shore in the rickety landing boats.
Whatever Defences the Mekantans had installed, they were about to discover them quite rapidly....................

Meanwhile, back in Vexia.......
"What do you mean the Domovkoi's Crew has rebelled? How can a whole Battleship crew rebel?"
"Erm, sir, do you remember the Potemkin........."
"Oh. I see."
"Sir, it doesn't matter much now anyhow. The Domovkoi has unwisely chosen to go to the Omega Islands and aid the 3rd Army and Unum Veritas against the Mekantans."
The Democratic Party Leader drummed his fingers against his fine mahogany desk.
He sighed.
"Well, If the Socialists wish to waste men and resources fighting in foreign lands, then we may as well let them. It only weakens them further for when their so called "Revolution" comes."
"Yes sir."

The Domovokoi is heading at full steam towards the Omega Islands and should arrive in two NS Days. It has only half a crew, and will not run at optimum efficiency, but its remaining crew are fiercely loyal Socialists, and will aid Unum Veritas and its Navy in any way they can.

Revitalized, they fought on with renewed ferocity, determined to beat back the Garou.
Slowly, it seemed the Tide was turning...............

As the first landing boats hit the shore of the first of the Omega Islands,
the Marines within mumbled prayers and held tightly to their Ak-47's.
They knew not what defences awaited them on the island, but knew they could not turn back- The Engines for the landing craft had been givne only enough fuel for a one way journey.
Now the whistle blew, and the ramp lowered..............

Holy shit... I just re-read my post...

Sorry if I offended anyone with it... -_-"

Sorry again, but I'm standing by the meaning of my statements, if not the language. And I'm still not changing them.

Vexia, I need to know of those Garou have been carrying off any human corpses. I won't call it if you don't want them gone. I can ressurect fallen AIs, and quite quickly if there's a facility nearby, so I don't really care about damage calling against my Garou. ^_^

You, however, would have something to worry about.

-Omega Islands-

(OOC: It's not the AI you have to worry about right now. It's the other natives. And the AIs. Wait... Didn't I just say... Oh, to hell with it. Unless there's anything of strategic importance on the island, it'll be left to the Mechanos.)

(...)

(I'll leave it to you if there's anything of importance on that one. Of the 300 islands, only about 150 are of any importance to Mekanta. If there isn't anything there, you'll just have to deal with pissed off hormone-frenzied Mechanos. If there is, you'll have to deal with AIs AND pissed off hormone frenzied Mechanos.)

-Mountain-

The Garou pulled back, screeching, as the invaders began fighting even harder. They retreated back into the cave, their screeches echoing inside.

A deep, continuous link of tones answered, and ominous eyes glowed to life inside the cave. The whine of mass drivers readying to fire met the ears of everything in the area, and it became apparent anything comming near the cave would be shot at...

OOC-As much as I don't like these random things which could easily be viewed as godmodding, I'll play with it for a while. All it requires is a change of tactics. Also, don't whine about there being no maps of your nation (which is an impossibility in itself) because I can make the maps myself. Back during the Cold War, the US had satellites which could see underground, so, with advances in technology, I daresay mine are advanced enough to make at least crude maps of the interior of your mountain and to discover some of the entrances/exits.

Aboard a Veritasean CH-53 Sea Stallion
Two Apache Longbow escorts
Streaking low over the Mekantan waters

**********************************

"Alright men, we're nearing the LZ, suit up!" Lieutenant Rogers of the Veritasean Imperial Marines said over the helicopter's intercom system, "We're reinforcing some Vexian troops that are in a bad position so watch where the hell you point those rifles! The Apaches are gonna give us some aerial support for as long as they can, but don't count on it for too long. Now, as soon as the chopper lands, I want safeties off and everyone had better get their @$$ off this helo ASAP!"
The Marines all nodded, most of them, however, had been concentrating on the mission to hard to have heard what Rogers said. Suddenly the Stallion flared and began dropping to the ground, as the Apaches hovered above, looking for enemies.

"Alright boys, here we are," Sergeant Whire said as he flung the helo's door open, "Go! Go! Go!"

The Marines hit the ground running, with their eyes and rifles scanning the area for any enemies. As soon as the last of the soldiers had dropped off, the Sea Stallion shot into the sky and rushed back to the Atlantis. The Veritaseans saw the Vexians (this is going to get confusing...) standing under the tree cover, and hurried over to join them. Rogers communicated with the Vexian leader and soon learned where the machines had fled to. He strode back into the clearing, got the Apaches' pilots' attention and, using hand signals, motioned towards the cave. He got a thumbs-up in reply and then the two helicopters swiveled in their hover and launched a pair of high-explosive missiles at the top of the cave. Both missiles were visually guided in since there wasn't anything to actuall aim at, and they swerved out of their way to avoid any defenses at the mouth of the cave. The second they had passed the mouth they swerved up and then back down, exploding dead-on on the top of the cave. Both warheads went off and caused the majority of the cave roof to collapse onto whatever was inside. The soldiers then regrouped and, with the Apaches following them at least for a little while longer, headed back towards the mountain.

Flight of four F-117 Nighthawks
In Mekantan airspace
Headed for the main mountain

****************************

"Incoming" the lead plane's onboard computer squaked.

"But I've got no radars present!" the pilot objected before realizing, "Oh crap, visual guns!"

The pilot then came over the intercom, breaking radio silence and ordered all of his accompanying planes to get in the cloud cover. Once safely there the planes were buffeted quite a bit by the storm and such, but they were safe from the visually-guided weaponry. They had almost made it to the mountain when a series of small dots appeared on the radar scope.
"****, fighters!" one pilot exclaimed.
"Stay in the could cover for as long as possible, but be ready to drop your bombs ASAP," another said calmly. He had had combat experience before.
"Okay, we're over the target, bombs away!"
And with that exclamation, the four jets' bomb bays opened and eight 2,000 pound bunker busters fell right at the main entrance to the interior of the cave. The Nighthawks didn't hang around long enough to see the results of their handiwork; they looped around and went to afterburner. Unfortunately one crashed to the ground almost immediately after due to ice that had accumulated on the airframe from travelling in the clouds. The bombers hoped to outrun the fighters and use their stealth features to avoid being shot at.

Aboard the UVS Atlantis
Command Ship for the Fourth Veritasean Armada
In Mekantan waters
Somewhere off the Omega Islands

*******************************

"Admiral Emerson," an aide called, "the Nighthawks report having successfully dropped their payloads, but that they are currently under attack by enemy fighters. One bomber has already been lost, most likely due to atmospheric conditions rather than to enemy fire, and the other three are at afterburner heading this way."
"Alright," Emerson replied, "Oh, by the way, did we ever get a response from Exonerate's admiral?"
"Not yet sir, we're still waiting."
"Very good."

A new ensign spoke up at this point,
"Sir, what do we do if the bunker busters won't penetrate into the mountain, like intel suggests? I know we most likely just closed off one of their largest entrances, but what if we can't get to the inside?"
"Well son, the bunker busters might not be strong enough, but we carry tactical nukes for a reason," Emerson replied solemnly.

"Sir," a communications officer called, "Realtime Intel coming in!"
Emerson walked over to the facsimile and picked up the still-wet sheet,
"Hmmm....Unknown type of bomber....left Central Facehuggeria two hours ago....unknown number of craft....escorts unlikely....probable target: Fourth Armada..."
"Alright," Emerson said aloud, "Get more interceptors up and have them tank immediately. I want airborne radar too, so get an extra CSA aloft. Have extra fighters on the catapults ready for lift off and extend the AEGIS net further out. Nothing gets near these carriers!"

OOC-And, in the interests of time, I shall end this post here.

The Red Guard cheered as the Garou retreated, though sadly dragging some of their dead comrades with them.
The arrival of the Veritseans was warmly welcomed, and Uri laisioned with their Commander Rogers.
Uri suggested that the Point Defence Cannons be the main targets, so that the Veritsean Air Force could bomb Mekanta into submission.
Whilst this was going on, the Red Guard were gathering the rest of the supplies, burying their dead tending the wounded and setting up a temporary camp.

The Marines laughed when they saw their were no defences.
"This is gonna be a walk in the Square!" said one marine.
They penetrate deep into the heart of numerous islands, discovering little resistance.
Only the presence of the strange and creepy creatures identified as Mechanos prevented them from getting too comfortable.
"Those creatures- there's something not right about them. It's like their watching us, waiting for the right moment to...." murmured one sargeant.
"No don't say it!" hushed a solider with more sense, and an wary look in his eyes.

Imminent Deletion... I... I will now go build a shrine to you... ^_^

Seriously. I'm going to get that program. Looks interesting. (Yeah, I've already checked the site.)

Alright, Unum Veritas, you win the BASIC map arguements. But it's quite easy to mistake some other cities, closer to the outside, as Mekanta's Capitol...

I won't dignify the nation comment with a responce, but let's just leave it at civillian technology not factoring into the war. Over 95% of the population is in Mekanta Prime due to... certain advantages to centralizing the population. It's not like they take up much room.

Everything you've gone up against in Mekanta's homeland is previously established, except the Mechanos, but those just never came up in any RP before.

Speaking of which...

Mechanos are basicly just giant scorpions with a more reptile-like inside and reptile-like jaws. They're warm blooded, and have paralyzing venom in their tail and in the fangs in their mouth. They jump, and strike quickly, but as soon as they see their own die, they'll lose confidance and run away, only to strike again later. A good shot to the head. middle of the torso, or base of the tail will kill it. It's death shrieks are an effective deterrant to Mechanos attack, so be sure to record it. Go ahead and have some soldier recording some of his or her buddies singing and catch it, or something. Just giving you a hand, Vexia. ^_^

X1 nodded as he looked at the situation report. "Right. Hostile fleet holding position. I should have known it wouldn't be so easy."

"Sorry, friend." Axis replied, shaking his head. The comm. link was heavily encoded in Mekantan, making tracing impossible. "I'm putting command of the First Armada in your hands. Use whatever tricks you have to in order to stop them. That includes..."

"I understand. Thank you, Axis." X1 said, sighing. He looked down at the human-looking hand attached to his arm. "Never have gotten used to these Simulant bodies..."

He swivled his Commander's chair, smiling grimly. The Tenshi class Command Ship was the nerve center of the fleet, and had a direct link with Central Command at all times. "Report."

"All systems online."

"Sir? It's always time for jokes. It gives us reason not to fear death." A female Simulant said, smiling.

"Oh? Why's that?" X1 asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Well, sir, if we get through the battle alive it's good. If we die, we won't have to listen to any of your jokes anymore. So either way it's a win-win situation."

The entire bridge broke into laughter as X1 grinned. "I'm going to get you for that one. Just you wait." He pointed towards the main command screen and nodded. "Alright, deploy all units in the designated areas. It's the only way their carriers can get into the Omega Islands and the only way they can pull off any more of those attacks on the Citidel."

"Sir? How's that? Those bombers have enough fuel to get there and back..."

-Commandship Kuroikaze-

X1 sighed as he looked over all of the intelligence. "Delay dispatch of all MAIA-A units."

"Sir?"

He turned his chair, nodding as he stuck his middle finger in a command interface, a sharp intake of breath signifying he was hooking into the ship's computer. "According to all of this, the reason for the attacks on Giren, Zare, and Gorith was classified except that there are materials on that island..."

"Yes sir. Metal deposits, uranium, and..."

"Pre-constructed Military units used during and before the Neo-Mekanta War." X1 finished, shaking his head. "Those are classified as materials by the Empire, aren't they?" He sighed. "No mention of the Ferans, no mention of the attacks on Silaris, nothing."

He sighed, then began using the Link to communicate with Tactical Command. A moment later, we was satisfied and began composing a message to the Veritasean (sp?) commander.

Official Imperial Stance: Destruction of Terrorist Groups

You are attacking us because we defended ourselves from a terrorist faction within the Empire. We acknowlage that the geniuses in our Government failed to inform the people of the world as to this cause. That is not surprising, given the usual Mekantan stance towards total independance and not giving information as to happenings inside Mekanta's territories.

Terrorist forces may be lurking about. Please beware of any Human battleships in the area flying a re-colored variant of the Mekantan Flag. All black has been turned green, all red has turned silver, and the silver gear has changed to a gold disk. This is the flag of the Terrorists. They have already re-activated many robots, and now have enough soldiers to mount a major offensive.

I have ordered all ships in the First Armada into passive mode. I wish to speak to you, to try to find a solution to this situation that will require no more bloodshed on either side. Please respond.

Andro Cowei is currently busy invading Ereg Ungol, so this is going to be boring RP. :P

IC: While the... whateverth UV Armada remains in Mekantan waters, four of Imminent Deletion's Carnassial Armadas have been sent to protect it. What we have here is a great deal of ships that don't actually do anything because I don't know what I can do with them. But they take up space. :D

General Dimtri was warme dby the kowledge that ID had joined the Coalition. It seemed they migth acutally stand a chance in this war!
But, for the first time, he began to consider the aftermath- the peacekeeping and clean-up that he'd probably have to do after they'd liberated the Omega Islands.
He'd received disturbing reports of several casualties at the hands of some sort of giant scorpion, but a few AK Rounds had seen them off. He'd issue an edict later that all men must travel in groups of three or more, and must have at least two weapons between them.
They'd made contact with several survivor settlements, who were prepared to testify that Mekanta had been behind the mass executions.
It probably wouldn't stand up in an International Tribunal, but the dark rumours of the executed Omegans going to fuel Mekanta's "Revenant" Programme just might.
He sighed. He had gone into this believeing he and all his soldiers would die, but now it seemed they were going to win.
And the likely prospect of a trial and exile when he returned home........
he shuddered. He'd rtaher take refuge amongst the other Coalition Nations.
Maybe Unum Veritas would allow him to defect to their side after the war?
He knew a fair few officers who felt the same.
The constant battle between the Socialists and the Democrats was supposed to be limited to Parliament only- but the passing of the Enabling Act had given the Democratic Party more power than they should of had, and now their nation was on the brink of civil war.
"Sir, several craft with an unknown flag similliar to the Mekantan Flag are approaching our offshore patrols. They claim to be the Local Freedom Fighters." a Lieutenant had just entered the tent, bringing a clipboard with a report on it.
"Excellent. Bring their leader to me for parley. We need help if we're going to hit the Mekantan bases hidden out amongst the rest of the islands." General Dimitri replied, before accepting the report, and burying himself in a mound of paperwork to distract himself from the future.

Colonel Uri was currently overseeing the setting up of a HQ at the base of the Mountains, and seeing to it that the Red Guard was organized into a proper army again, for the next phase.
The Rail Guns were supposed to be the main target, but Uri had made the tactical choice to attack the Point Defence Cannons instead- take out their AA's, and Air support will do the rest.
He looked up at the mountain, wondering what new horrors would spill out to defend the place.
Uri didn't like the quiet- the calm before the storm, and those Mekantans were certainly a Hurricane.
He stopped his pacing, and looked towards the makeshift Field Hospital.
He'd given several men the Victory Star- not that he'd actually had any of Vexia's Highest Accolade with him, but they understood the gesture.
Most of them were now dying of their injuries.
"Sir! Sir! We've intercepted a most disturbing communication!" cried out a radio operator, rushing from the HQ "Tent" behind him.
"What does it say?"
"Something about Terrorists being responsible for the Massacres."

HOLY ZEN!!

... I think I'll need more underwater pods if the peace thing doesn't work out...

Just some info on the various non-human-yet-still-human-like-so-what-the-heck-are-they races around the Mekantan islands. (Why do I have this suspicion Unum Veritas is going to have a problem with this? Is it just my pessimistic nature? A long day? Previous experience?)

Yes. This is descriptive stuff, so I classify it as semi-IC. So it will be in code tags. If you don't like this, you are cordially invited to kiss my ass and/or go to hell. ^_^ <-- Anime type smile. I don't want anyone taking that "kiss my ass and/or go to hell" thing as a serious insult.

[code:1:5ab23783d8]
MEKANTAN
Physical: Physicly weaker than humans. Pale in comparison to Caucasian Humans. Aversion to natural sunlight. Mostly live in stasis tubes hooked up to a network, making most Mekantans hundreds of years old. As such, they have a very low breeding rate.
Identifying Features: Many colored "streak" like bars. The most easily seen is an "eye streak" solid bar from the eye to the cheek or chin.

SUB-RACE: NEO-MEKANTAN
Neo-Mekantans are, on average, roughly as strong as humans if not stronger, and have long triangular markings instead of the solid bar. These traits are considered to be the results of the Neo-Mekantan machines in charge of controlled breeding attempting to seperate their biologicals from Mekanta. (As Mekantans and Neo-Mekantans who became Core citizens have been interbreeding, a new classification of Half-Neo has arisen.)
[/code:1:5ab23783d8]

[code:1:5ab23783d8]
FERAN
Physical: Stronger and more agile than Humans. Used to living in trees, and think in three dimensions tacticly rather than two like Humans. Very acute sense of hearing. Cat-like reflexes. (Gee, I wonder why. -Tech Note)
Identifying Features: The only visible features on a clothed Feran are triangular streaks on cheeks fore-arms, and shoulders, cat-like ears, and a tail.
[/code:1:5ab23783d8]

[code:1:5ab23783d8]
SILARAN
Physical: Roughly equal to humans in many physical characteristics. The most human-like of the "Omega Races" known. The only different features are larger lungs, and sharper teeth.
Identifying Features: Sharp teeth, ridges under eyes, eye streak from corner of eyes back to ear.
[/code:1:5ab23783d8]

Enjoy.

Several figures approached the camp, lead by a strange unarmed robot. The fifty other AIs, however, more than made up for their leader's lack of weapons. (OOC: They're Shinigami. 2 auto-railguns, a grenade launcher, and a sword each.) "HOLD!" He yelled when several Vexians noticed them. The Shinigami held still while the leader opened his arms. OOC-Vexia, have your officers that wish political asylum contact some of my characters and then we can work on that. ID, good to see ya! You sent even more ships than me.....good freakin lord. You could probably walk from ship to ship without ever getting your feet wet. LoL! Also, the Fourth Armada is there in its entirety and by now has been reinforced by units from the Sixth (I believe). And yes, my free time is up, Mekanta, however if you all give me a bit extra time for replies, then I can probably stay in, so let's see how this works out.

Conducting combat operations off the Omega Islands

"Admiral Emerson, the Deletionite fleets have arrived," an aide announced.

"Fleets?" Emerson inquired.

"Aye sir, several fleets."

"Very well, send a liason officer to rendezvous with the Deletionite commander."
Ten minutes later a Sea King, VIP helicopter transport, lifted off the deck and headed towards the newly arrived ships. As it flew, it was tracked by countless radars as crews aboard the AEGIS ships tested their systems and practiced tracking a target in the inner sanctums of the group.

"Sir, incoming diplomatic traffic, originating from the enemy fleet," a communications officer reported before reading the Mekantan transmission aloud.

"So, a meeting, eh?" Emerson said thoughtfully, "Very well, arrange it. Perhaps the Deletionites or the Vexians will volunteer a ship to host the talks. Vexia might want the fame, but the Deletionites are newly arrived and have yet to fire a shot in anger (in this war). Anyways, set that up and then contact High Command for instructions."

"Aye, sir."

"Sir, we just received stand-down orders from the fleet," a sergeant reported before reading the dispatch aloud, "'Pending cease-fire talks between Mekanta and Unum Veritas/Allies, all Veritasean assets should stand-down offensive operations and fire only in a defensive posture. Units should remain ready for a reversal of this order at all times.'"

"D--n, this diplomatic s--t!" a private burst out before being silenced by a withering look from his lieutenant.

"Very well," the lieutenant said finally, "Convey this to the Vexians."

"Yes sir."

The following message has been sent to Mekanta, Vexia, and Imminent Deletion leaders in the Omega Islands region:
[code:1:a82654f221]Origin: Command Ship of the Fourth Veritasean Armada

Recipients: Mekanta, Vexia, Imminent Deletion

Message:
The Mekantan request for formal talks to be initiated between our countries has been found acceptable to the Command of Veritasean Forces in the region, Admiral Emerson, particularly in light of recently received news. We would like to request the talks take place on either a Vexian or a Deletionite naval vessel and hope one of the countries will be able to offer such a craft. We await responses from all nations.

He shrugged, and the bridge officer nodded. "Yes sir. Transmission being sent."

Liason Officers Coordinating Offensive Acts Between UV and ID

*******************************

"Okay, this is what we know so far," Commander Hale began while spreading a map across a table in Syrup's CIC, "The majority of their nation is built inside of this mountain. Intel indicates that standard bunker busters won't be very effective in striking inside and we're currently discussing various other strategies. We have some nuclear warheads that our bombers can drop that will devastate the overgrown rock, but we aren't sure that we wish to pursue that avenue. Aerial combat is a good news/bad news situation. Bad news is that stealth aircraft are mostly useless because the Mekantans don't use radar. Good news is that they rely on visual targetting systems so, since there is a perpetual storm, we can use the cloud cover to our advantage, particularly with high-altitude bombers. So far as a naval threat goes, we are sorta stumped. We haven't seen a single surface ship bearing the Mekantan flag. Hell, we haven't seen a single surface ship other then our own since the Central Facehuggerians retreated.

"Operations up until this point have been quite successful, barring the kamikaze type attack from the CF aircraft carrier. Last night we launched a bombing run using F-117's and only lost one aircraft. We believe this attack resulted in the destruction of the main entrance to the mountain Citadel, but we are trying to confirm that now. We are also cooperating with Vexia and Exonerate. Vexia has landed troops on the mainland and they're being supported by Veritasean Marines. Exonerate has a smaller fleet here that I believe will soon be used as an outside sonar and radar picket. Basically the fleet is no longer moving, so we have very good protection. The shallow shoals interfere some with sonar conditions, but our towed-arrays counter that. Our ASW and AA defense nets are pretty much at optimum. Due to the number of friendly carriers in the area we basically own the sky as well. With the removal of the CF fleet we currently own the seas too, but that will probably be challenged soon by the Mekantans if these peace talks fall through. We have some operations officers drawing up combat plans now for that contingency. Here they are..."

OOC- ID and Exonerate check TGrams for the actual plans.

In the Air Traffic Control Superstructure

*******************************

"The Mekantan commander wishes to attend the meeting personally," the Admiral's aide told him as he stood staring out the window and watching operations on the flight deck.

"Good," Emerson replied, "I wouldn't talk with any commander that didn't wish to meet face-to-face. That would be a sign of cowardice. Have the Vexians or Deletionites offered a ship yet?"

"Not to my knowledge, sir."

"****!" Emerson suddenly exclaimed as he watched an incoming fighter drop low right before landing and smash into the flight deck, "D**n this storm! That's the second plane we've lost today!"

"Yes sir, but what can we do?" the aide wondered as she watched flight crews rush to clean the deck off and a rescue helo lift off to search for the pilot.

"Well, with any luck we can end hostilities through these talks, but if not..." Emerson said slowly, consumed in his own thoughts.

"If not, what sir?"

"But if not," Emerson replied, turning to look her in the eyes, " if not, then the Mekantans shall pay."

Nukes = Orbital Barrage

Just so you know.

And yes, I have another puppet. Four of them, actually. Only one hasn't been referenced in this RP yet: Kalashi. But it's not important, just the very epitomy of the "Mekanta's Bitch" label.

Incomming Rebels.

-Black Iowa class Battleship-

Gowar hissed as he paced back and forth on the modified Human battleship. "These damn Machines! First they have the balls to wipe out our bases on Giren and those other two..."

He grabbed one of his aides and shook him, looking the young man in the eyes.

"Then they don't have the decency to die when they're invaded!"

The aide blinked. "Sir. We're within meeting range of the Vexian forces..."

Gowar just dropped the aide and walked off, his tail twitching. "Keep watch for those Mekantan ships. If that Senshi-"

"Shogun, sir. There's only one Senshi class in the entire Mekantan fleet."

Gowar stopped, and the tail-twitching stopped. "... did you just correct me...?" The Aide started shaking his head violently as Gowar turned to him, growling. "If whatever it is out there surfaces, we'll be instantly targetted by every orbital gun, and every long-range attacker they have. Need I remind you what we're classified as?"

"T... Terrorists, sir."

"Good boy." Gowar patted his aide on the head, then punched him in the gut. The aide fell to the ground, moaning, as Gowar walked off. Several old MAI-X robots saluted as he walked passed, and he flipped them the bird as he walked by. "Damn machines. If I didn't need you to run off to your deaths against the Mekantans, I'd scrap you myself."

(OOC: MAI-X and the other AI units the Feran rebels have can be found HERE (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=109973). Nothing is for sale any more, until further notice...)

He spat on the deck of the ship as he climbed into the helicopter waiting for him, ready to take him to the Vexian leader.

"The Holy Empire of Mekanta has seen fit to release information regarding the attacks on the islands of Zare, Giren, and Gorith."

"A renegade organization had managed to take full control of all three islands. That organization was directly responsible for the deaths of over 40,000 innocent civillians."

"The destruction of those people was necessary to ensure the safety of Mekanta's territories, primarily Fera and Silaris where all of the attacks occurred."

General Dimitri Frowned. So much was happening at once- Still, War was rarely simple, so he decided to do things one step at a time.
"Tell the Veritseans that we'd gladly offer the use of the Domovokoi as a diplomatic Meeting Location. Tell them also that Lieutenant Colonel Grigor will be representing Socialist Vexia, and will be arriving via Hind Helicopter in a few hours."
"Yes sir." rpelied the Radio man, who was busy sending the messages out in Vexed, the secret Code Language of the Vexian Navy( Think a cross between Engima and the Navajo language used in WWII)
"Oh, and inform those Terr- I mean, Ferans- that it is safe for them to send their leader to Camp X, on Island X.(OOC:X being classified, so you lot don't know where exactly the meeting takes place)
We'll meet them there. If they can help us locate the Mekantan Naval Bases, then that'll be a heavy weight off our backs."

Meanwhile, the Domovokoi Battleship, which had rebelled against the Democracy running their home country, had arrived near the Veritsean Fleet.
Signalling it was a friend, its crew began preparing the ship for the arrival of diplomatic guests.
(Unlike some Battleships, the Domovoki sacrifices some of its firepower to have a helipad on the back)
In a few short hours, Lnt.Colonel Grigor would be arriving with several Red Guard elite to represent Vexia in the coming talks.

Colonel Uri sat back in his tnet, looking through the paperwork that had arrived. They were to sit back and do nothing for at least the next 6 hours- apparently, a period of negiotation with the Mekantans was beginning.
Though a part of him was furious that he couldn't complete the plan he'd just finished writing up- to attack the Point Defence Guns higher up in the mountain, another part of him was glad that more of his men weren't going to get killed in a nigh-sucidal mission.

The Socialist Army in Mekanta were deeply worried. the Revolution had begun wihtout them back home, and they were all concerned about what was happening. Rumour had it that Valdez, the So called Democratic Archchancellor, was threatening Chemical Retaliation on the Populace if Romanov didn't surrender.
But they knew their duty, and escorted the representatives aboard the Battleship.
They were shown to seperate sections of the ship, minimizing risk of spying or hostility between the negiotatiors.
The Mekantans would be confined to quarters, and when needed would be escorted under guard to the conference room.
The Conference would officially begin at 1800 hrs, with drinks and a light meal being served(except to the Mekantans- they don't need to eat, so the cooks don't need to make an extra meal) when all diplomats where ready.
In the meantime, they can communicate via laptop or mobile phone to their governments, or watch some Vexian TV.( VBN World Service and VBN Kids only, i'm afraid. The Coup and the fact a Battleship isn't a home entertainment system has limited the amount of working channels.)

Emerson had already signed off on the plans and his requests for some "special" supplies had been granted and were currently en route. It had been decided that a full blockade of Mekanta would be politically unacceptable and would drag the conflict out longer than it ought to be, therefore Emerson was forced to use different tactics.

Ten minutes later a discreet knock on his stateroom's door drew him out of his reverie.
"Admiral Emerson?" a timid young man asked before getting a nod and continuing, "The talks are about to commence, if you'll please follow me."

As soon as he realized what was going on Admiral Emerson picked up his secure satellite phone and radioded his second-in-command to order attack helicopters to take out the rebels and provide aerial support. Three AH-1W Super Cobra maritime attack choppers immediately lifted off one of the Nimitz class carriers and sped towards the enemy helo above the Vexian vessel. [OOC-Just out of curiousity, where was your radar when this helicopter was coming in and how the hell did it get past all of my ships in the area?] The three assault helicopters flew in low with their missile radars vectored onto the enemy aircraft by an AEGIS destroyer. Unfortunately the Veritasean aircraft were too late. The pilots stared in horror as the rebel chopper collided with the front of the Vexian battleship and sent a huge fireball into the sky. A voice then came over the helicopters' radios telling them to circle above the ship and take out any enemy forces that landed on board, an order the pilots were more than happy to follow after watching what appeared to be the wrecking of the peace-talks that would have sent them home to their families. The circling attack choppers were soon joined by two Sea Knights each carrying a full load of Veritasean Imperial Marines. The Marines were then zip-lined onto the ship's deck with their MP-10's blazing.

******************
When the helicopter collided with the ship Admiral Emerson grabbed hold of a railway to keep from losing his balance and falling. He calmly followed his escorts to the awaiting rescue boat and smiled only briefly as he glanced up and saw tracers lancing from his helos to the enemy and his Marines dropping onto the deck.

"Let's get all of us into the rescue craft and then have us taken to the Atlantis to continue talks," Emerson said in a tone that brooked no arguement.

Major Pyotr was a tad peeved at the arrogant bossiness of Mekanta and Unum Veritas's Representatives.
But he let it pass, as he and the marines led the way to the lifeboats, keeping an eye out for enemy machinoids.
On deck, all was chaos. four more rebel units arrived, and wreaked bloody havoc on the sailors trying to douse the flames.
the Klaxon was gone- destroyed in the blast- but the fire alarm was still active.
The Captain of the Ship was critically wounded, leaving Major Pyotr and Lieutenant Miguel as the most senior officers.
The Radar had been on the fritz throughout the voyage, and the technicians who were supposed to attend to it would be severely discplined. If they survived.
"Protect the Envoys!" caled one guard, running towards the party, only for a rebel to cut him down in a hail of vicious gunfire.
The marines turned, and opened fire with their ak-74's.
"Keep moving! We're almost there!" shouted Major Pyotr, pushing the diplomats along.

OOC: Yes, pretty much. I'll leave it to you and Unum Veritas to sort ouw what actually happened in the Negiotations, and who got what and what happened for who.

I'll just round it off with what happened to the Rogue Socialist Army.......

SIX MONTHS LATER
"Major Pyotr, I pronounce you guilty of crimes of treason against the state. You are to be executed at dawn." pronounced the millitary judge.
Major Pyotr groaned. He and several hundred other soldiers- largely the crew of the Domovokoi, who had limped home to Dyenport after basic repairs with the Veritseans- were to be tried and executed for "crimes against the new state" he had hoped to slip by the Secret Police and meet up with Romanov's Geurillas in the Nechenyan mountains. He sighed. He would be eating his last meal tonight, his favourite- Fried Liver and Onions. At leats Valdez had the kindness of providing favourite meals for the condemmned. Perhaps it was a concillatory gesture for the benefit of the International Community, who were getting suspcious of his near-Facist Policies.
He was taken back to the death cell, wher he would sepnd the next 8 hours before he would be taken to a courtyard, blindfolded, and shot.
May be they'd be kind enough to give him Blackforest Gateau for afters........

General Dimitri sighed. The Report on his desk was not good. he had let the majority of his forces go home, to do what they wanted. Only he and a few thousand of the diehard elite were with him, in various places of exile in Revistan and Unum Veritas, amongst others.
He had herad about Pyotr's execution, and Colonel Uri suceeding in getting through to aid Romanov's Guerillas, but too few had made it.
He still had the bulk of the millitary equipment with him, but there wasn't enough men to operate it all, and the ships that had transported it here had ferried the men back home and had never been seen again.
He guessed he'd have to try and convince the Veritseans to aid him in retaking control of the government...........

Brigadier Arkady looked at the contents of the crates confiscated from the Socialist Boats that had arrived a few months earlier.
Most of the crates had been emptied, but this one containe dsomehting unexpected- a barely damaged MAI-X, with only a single headwound from a magnetic bullet to mar it.
The Neural net may have been fried, but another one could be salvaged form the other dozen or so MAI-X units that had been stored in the socialist ships.
He grinned. May be he'd get promoted for this find- and goodness knows, there were ALOT of top ranking positions available, with so many dead or to be executed or imprisoned for treason.

He couldn't use the rear launch-bays without showing everyone the various craft at his disposal, something he was not prepared to do. Luckily his problem was solved for him. "Try not to fall off, it's a long way down."

Once the scaffolding reached the flight deck, the envoys were met by about ten Marines in dress garb and twenty in full combat gear. Emerson was suddenly struck by an idea
I've got the leader of my enemy onboard my own ship with a host of Marines at my beck and call... he thought, before chastizing himself for the dishonorable thought.

The various leaders were lead to a small room with a round table in it. As Emerson took a seat he asked,

Major Pyotr looked sadly at the damage report in front of him. 100 men dead, 200 more injured, and the forwrad bridge little more thna scrap metal, and the prow a blasted wreck. the forward guns were beyond repair aswell- the Domovkoi would need a major overhaul, or even scrapping when it got back to port.
But the engines were salvagable, and the bridge could be replaced with some care and exstensive rewiring. Besides, as long as nobody attacked them on the way home, they should be safe.
He handed acopy to a nearby Unum Veritsean Officer.
"Give this to your commanders. They may find it useful."
The Officer frowned, but since Pyotr technically outranked him, he decided to err on the side of caution and take the report to his commanders.
