Hostile Takeover (Open RP)

Message from Government-In-Exile:

Good evening:

To all nations this is a plea for a help. The democratic government of Malka has been overthrown by Communist forces. Recently, they have started genocidal rampages and have broken pretty much all human rights and decency. We fear for the citizens of our country and other foreigners trapped in the country. To make things worse, the overthrowers have now split into factions, so no one is safe. Our country is greatly in need of foreign assisstance.

From President Putchkin,
President-in-Exile

To President Putchkin

First of all, on behalf of Her Majesty's Government, the Empire of Lavenrunz would like to offer your government in exile asylum in our country.
Secondly, we would like to meet with you or with representatives of your country to discuss the best way you would like to receive aid, and to be briefed on the details of what occured.
Her Majesty Empress Aurora has instructed me to convey that we are grieved at the suffering your people are facing, and are prepared to provide aid, infrastructure assistance and military forces to support your return to lawful government.

with warmest regards

Greetings,

We at the Commonwealth of the Far-Eastern States have taken notice of your state's current military/political situation and is willing to lend a helping hand.

Everyone in the CFES is worried about Commonwealth interests, including citizens, currently still inside the territory of the Isle of Malta and, of course, the people of your nation. This extremely bloody takeover must stop.

The senate has considered and approved the deployment of Commonwealth troops. However, we can only send so much since our military and economic resources are only a small fraction compared to the potential of your nation. This matter considered, our troops will limit their operations on areas where our interests are concentrated, mostly around the capital. Until we recieve information on other nations sending help, we will not spend resources outside the proposed operations.

We would like to hear your approval on the proposition offered by the Commonwealth as soon as possible. We wish you good fortunes and hope that this terrible situation will be resolved soon.

Foreign Secretary,
Commonwealth of the Far-Eastern States

Any help would help a lot. Probably part of the reason the takeover happened was because we had no military to begin with. The constitution was amended with an amendment to disband the military. Therefore, to keep order, we had a stronger police force.

President Putchkin prepares on a military airfield on Lipany Island to travel to Lavenrunz. A passenger jet pulls up on the runway. Mechanics and technicians come running to refuel and check the plane.

A Colonel comes running up to the president. "President, we'll be ready in a couple of seconds."

"Good," said Putchkin. "Every second counts. Every second those rebels on Malka are cracking down on supporters and foreigners. We have no time to waste. If what I'm hearing is true about the rebels on Malka, the foreigners might as well be dead rather to be tortured slowly. Those rebel pigs must be stopped!!!"

"Well the plane is ready to take in five minutes," said the Colonel.

In less than that, the plane roared off the runway heading toward Lavenrunz, uncertain about Malka's future.

"Suit up, men." Col. Ivanski appears in the room.
"We have a situation here. Guerillas have taken over the Isle of Malka. As you know this is our nearest neighbor to the west of Novgovan Bronensk Island."

An image projectoer projects maps and data in the briefing room.

The Captain continues. "It's our duty to restore to retake the island. Your mission however, is not to engage the enemy directly. Your objectives are as followed:

1) Gather Intel (Topographical, Ethnical, troop movement, etc.).
2) Train indiginous forces.
3) Supply indiginous forces with equipment from later supply drops.

Remember: If engaged you are allowed to fight back. Your time will come when you can directly engage the enemy, but it isn't now. Also remember that any actions, be it theirs or yours, influence our country. Some of you may know that there has been some dissent in our government and that there are some Communist supporters in our country. Therefore, it is vital we show everyone that a tangle with us is a dance with death. Now Move it!"

Two groups of 25 men from the Intelligence Corps landed by boat on the northeastern part of the island. They quickly got into formations and scouted out the area. The area, they found was almost completely uninhabited except for a small, nameless village of about 20 people. The people were Pro-Putchkin and Group Alpha stationed its troops in the village and camped for the night. The villagers did not much about know what was going on on the rest of the island, but they did know that people beyond the area were much worse off. This village in particular, remained safe and unchecked only because it is not connected by roads. But they knew it was only a matter of time before they were found.

Brovo group set up communications equipment on a small wooded hill.

Team leader Sergei was on the radio. "Papa Bear this is Bravo 1, do you read us?"

"Bravo One this is Papa Bear. We hear you. Set up in a safe area. 500 men from the First Naval Brigade will join you in 5 days. Strategic bombing will occur in 2 days weather permitting. And 50 more men from the Intelligence Corps will come tommorrow on the Western and Northern Shores. Until then you're on your own. Papa bear, out." The HQ stopped transmitting.

Segei began to brief his men. "We'll be alone today. Probably tommorow too, because it seems the other Intel troops are going to land in more dangerous areas. Be glad you got it this easy men, but be wary anyway. If things get sour, our best bet is still five days away. Alright. You know what to do. Get to it."

The men began to go to their tasks. Some went to sleep, because they got to. Others were on guards were on sentry duty, until they were relieved by their sleeping buddies. All knew though that tommorrow they would see a lot more action.

Gentleman,

Some of you have heard the news in other countries about separatist groups uprising from the streets, toppling goverment leaders like our colleague from Malka. The problem with these so-called small uprisings is that they have the bad habit of becoming a bigger, international problem for us all. Therefore, the Federation is committed to crushing the rebels and making the world safe for all. Remember, the absence of order is chaos.

You have the full support of this office and the Federation.

You are right that they become bigger. Pro-rebel protesters have started to riot in 3 of the 10 most populous cities in Novgova, probably people planted there by the rebels to stop us from joining the conflict.

Greetings,

The senate has given me the responsibility of handling Commonwealth involvement on this situation in the Isle of Malka. It is a shame that this has happened. Over the past days, our transports has traveled to a nearby location to the main island. They are ready to deploy a full-strength marine division. Two regiments will attempt to make a push to the capital in order to secure our embassy and other interests. The rest will stay and defend the beachhead for future deployments.

An airborne battalion of a thousand men is on standby but they do not have any nearby airbases to fly into Malka from. Unfortunately, this sums up all the military units we can spare.

With this amount of military resources at hand, we cannot make any more aggressive operations against the rebels. Therefore, I propose creating a unified command for all nations that will send aid and troops to Malka. This way we can coordinate operations and make better use of all available resources.

Good fortunes to all especially to the people of Malka.

Mostly, we need some troops willing to combat enemy forces because we are serverely short on manpower. But if you are not willing to do so, then second on the agenda is food and water for the refugees and people starving in the country.

Five o'clock. The sun didn't rise yet. Yet 2 AH-64Ds, 3 AH-1s, and 10 harriers flew. They were unopposed as apparently the rebels didn't anticipate it.

The Apaches spotted a convoy of troops or supplies, they couldn't tell. But in a minute the convoy was a burning heat of garbage, troops scattering everywhere. Meanwhile, the cobras were busy stirring up trouble in the capital. The helicopters shot up another convoy in the city and fired on the rebel HQ. While that was happening, 5 harriers started bombing targets of interest. That was a distraction for the other five harriers to start bombing bridges to the north and east to slow down and limit rebel troop occupation and support of the norheastern part of the island.

That's a good idea. We have an airbase in range of Malka It's on Lipany Isle to the east of Malka. It is a small island but it has a large military airport that could handle even the biggest planes. If you do attempt to rescue your people from the capital, I suggest going in from the southwest because you can extract and supply them from sea because the capital is on the ocean.

the CEP is not willing to get involved in another case of national unrest (we were recently involved in the Kazakhstanian theatre) we are how ever very concerned for the safety and well being of the civillian population.

We would like to set up and enfore DMZs in the more populated areas of the country. These would be completely devoid of troops except our own and be a no fly zone for everyone involved.

From these areas we would co ordinate relief efforts with other nations and be the distributers of the supplies. For our involvement all parties addressed would need to agree.

The President's plane was escorted in by Feuerkatz Fighter-Bombers of the Imperial Air Force to the Lavenrunzian capital of Hofburg.
There, when the President stepped down onto Lavenrunzian soil, he was greeted by a band in full dress with scarlet plumes and blue and gold uniforms, playing the Malkan national anthem. An honour guard, presenting arms, bayonets glinting, flanked a red carpet. A small group of dignitaries waited at the end of it.
A fair haired, craggy faced man with pale blue eyes stepped forward. He wore formal dress with a red sash and a chain of office. "Herr President, I am Chancellor Count Mirbach, Her Majesty Empress Aurora's head of government. You are most welcome here. Her Majesty has offered you one of Her residences for the duration of your stay...and I am sure there is much you need to do, and to tell us..."

You are up against, depending where you land (SE, S, SW, W, NW, N, NE) on the island against varying resistance. The capital is on the SW part of the island, it's a port city accessable from the ocean. This has the most resistance and weapons varies greatly from, 50-100 year old bolt-action rifles, to AK47s, to Stingers, and AT lauchers to An-94 Abakans. The greatest concentration of troops would be on the S, SW, W, and central part of the island. On the contrary, the NE and NW have few enemy troops. Also, there is very litttle armor on the island. The most powerful would probably be a T-72 or a T-62. Your leopards should have a walk in the park. However, in total there are about 600,000 enemy combatants on the island. The good news is, most aren't trained at all to use their weapons and some don't have firearms to fight with. Some use wooden pikes and iron swords!

Not much has happened. There are about 10,000 Novgovan troops at the north part of the island. The tri-federation is sending troops (?). This is because a Pro-Communist regime commanded by Unknown has taken over the islands. They have resorted to attrocious ways of controlling the island, breaking practically all human rights laws and commiting genocide on some of the population. Meanwhile, the PResident-in-Exile has gone to meet with some representatives of another nation to discuss what had happened.

The conference is being held on another nation's land, because the democratic government isn't on the island anymore; they had been forced to leave hastily otherwise they would be killed. If you have an embassy on Malka, chances are the personnel are already held captive along with other personnel from other embassies in the capital.

"Ok lieutenant. How are our boys doing?" A burly looking officer inquired as he barged in a crammped command center inside one of the escort destroyers.

"General, several companies from the first regiment has landed on LIMA beach but they haven't secured the beachhead yet. The landing barges of the third regiment are having trouble with mines and hedgehogs. Apparently the rebels expected an attack on the area in TANGO beach and was able to set traps there."

Around this time the executive officer, a major, entered the room. "Sir, I heard the sitreps too. I suggest sending in reinforcements to LIMA beach since they have the best chance of breaking through. We could still scrape up enough landing barges to bring a company from the fourth regiment." The command center was filled with radio chatter as more and more men fell to machine gun fire at the beaches.

"Major, come with me. I have a mission for you."

As they were heading to the ship's deck, the thirty-ish and solidly built major asked, "What do you have for me, sir?"

"Fredo, I'll be frank with you. This operation is the worst mistake I have ever made. You are right, we should have landed on the southern area of Malka, but the Secretary wanted this done as soon as possible. For now the third and first regiments will have to do. As for your mission..."

The Linderhof Palace in summertime was open to the general public, as it was famous for its beautiful gardens and the quality of the light at that time. However, only its greenhouses were open to the public during the winter, and those had been closed off for renovations. This was a falsehood; it was in fact so that security for President Putchkin could not be so easily breached.
It was not huge, but it was elegant, had fifteen bedrooms, a ballroom, a number of sitting and dining rooms, a library, and commanded a view of the Imperial Park and the River Sprey.
When Putchkin arrived, Chancellor Mirbach said, "I am sure you are tired, Herr President, but we need to know what kind of assistance you require, and to be briefed on the situation."
As they walked into the Linderhof and were led by one of Mirbach's aides to a room adequate for a meeting, he said, "Permit me to introduce my colleagues. Karl von Effner, my Foreign Minister; Baroness Ulrica von Hentzau, my Minister of War; General von Baden, Chief of the Imperial General Staff; Lila Sachs, my Principal Private Secretary."
Von Effner was short, but had an air of great confidence and command. Ulrica von Hentzau was lovely enough to be a single-name supermodel, but there was also a definite bearing of authority and calm intelligence.

Greetings,

Our troops proceeded as planned and made an attempt to land on the southwest beaches of Malka a few mile north-northwest of the capital. The reports coming from the operation commander is grim. Our troops are still fighting for a beachhead.

As for our other force, the airborne battalion of a thousand personnel, we will be sending them to the Laverunz held island of Lipany. They are to be stationed there until they are called to action. The first five-hundred will arrive soon. The other five-hundred will be arriving in a few days.

I will be glad to receive a reply from you regarding this matter as soon as possible.

Please send my regard to president Putchkin, who I hear is visiting her Highness for a meeting.

We hope that this conflict will end soon.

"Mr. Flores, sir? We've received the situation report you asked from the general, um, sir." The young aide handed over a piece of paper to a man behind the desk. He was lighting a cigar when she came in with the paper.

"Thank you, that's all. Oh, wait, I want you to send for a slice of coconut pie and a cup of tea from the cafeteria. No, make that a coffee. Black" There was an apparent air of anxiousness in his voice as he smoked his cigar.

"Um, sir, you haven't had lunch yet. Should I send for a meal too? Rice and some vegetables perhaps?"

"The pie will do, but thank you for asking anyway." The grey haired Nikolas Flores forced a smile, but just barely. The strain was too much for the Defense Secretary as his nation has never been in a serious conflict ever since the commonwealth's conception a decade ago.

He studied the report carefully. A part of it read:

The President was led through the hall to the meeting room. When aides opened the door for him he noticed how nice the room was. The solid mahogany table, nice leather chairs, and nice view of the park and river demanded respect from those who entered it. Putchkin sat in on of the chairs. Behind him the colonel and a few presidential aides brought in laptops, pictures, satellite phones, and projectors, although judging how everything was so elegant and well thought out, Putchkin wondered if he should have brought so much equipment. Then everyone else filled the room and the doors were promptly shut. The aides set up the equipment, ready to show the world what had happened...

"Take out that BTR-60!" yelled Sergei. The BTR-60, as if on cue, fired its weapons at the area where the LAW soldier was.
"I can't sir!" he screamed barely above the machine gun fire.
Sergei didn't know what to do but he knew that the BTR-60 needed to go. Sergei spotted an RPG on a dead soldier but saw that it laid in the line of fire of a squad of rebels. Sergei looked to his right.
"Provide cover fire men!" the men noded. Sergei got up from the crouch position and bolted toward the RPG. The rebel squad opened fire but a machine gunner armed with a M240 quickly supressed their fire. Sergei picked up the RPG while running and ducked behind a burned house. Quickly seeing his chance, Sergei fired the RPG at the BTR-60. It exploded violently, sending scrap metal flying everywhere.
"Move in men!" the team leader barked to his collegues. The rest of the unit quickly mopped up the forces.
"This battle was very important to win men," Sergei explained to his unit. "This was the first town we liberated that has a population over 10,000. It's also on a major route. We cut off their transportation, made a breakthrough in the lines, and now we could set up checkpoints and start rescuing civilians. But don't think the rebels will slack off. They'll be on us more vigorously than before and since we have no armor, this will be difficult. Get prepared, set up fortifications, and then relax. Dismissed." The men quickly carried out their orders.

Greetings,

The Commonwealth Senate has become aware of the aid the Zusayan Union is giving the rebels in Malka in the form of weapons, ammunition, and various supplies. The Senate is requesting that Zusaya end this course of action.

I hope that your leaders have not been enlightened as to what your communist 'comrades' has been doing to the innocent civilian population in Malka. Reports of murders and other crimes against humanity the rebels has inflicted upon the population abound. I hope that this doesn't imply that your government is condoning such violence by aiding them. It would be terrible to imagine such a respected institution as the Zusayan government be involved in crimes against humanity.

The cause for humanity goes well above that of the cause for either communism or democracy. Please, instead of assisting in this horrible act, let us all work for the innocents that live in the once peaceful island of Malka. I, as the representative of the Commonwealth, plead that you reconsider your efforts regarding this situation.

The Dictatorship of The Isle of Malka is a very large, economically powerful nation, remarkable for its compulsory military service. Its compassionate, hard-working, cynical population of 98 million are kept under strict control by the oppressive government. "

Comrade Jack, General Secretary Supreme Soviet gives his instructions:

"Sir, a company from the first regiment just broke through rebel defenses in LIMA." reported a lieutenant. Just before that, the situation was looking pretty grim for the personnel of the 3rd Marine Division.

"Finally, some good news. What is the status of the rest of the regiment?" Although having the same serious look in his face, an apparent tone of gladness can be noticed from his voice.

"All four companies are on the beach, general. They all suffered heavy casualties except for the last company that landed. As for the rebels, there are still scattered pockets of resistance on and around LIMA."

"What's the situation so far in TANGO?" The old serious and worried tone returned to the general's voice.

"Two companies of the third regiment completed their landing but are still stalled on the beach. The transports carrying the rest of the regiment are still a bit way off TANGO. Those hedgehogs and mines cost them several landing barges, sir."

"Call back all landing barges from LIMA. Then send in the fourth regiment to reinforce the first." The general lit a cigar. "And have them clean up the damn beach."

The Imperial marines had landed on full strenght and continued to move inland with the support of the tanks and some mortar vehicles not before seen on any battlefield. They had already secured some small towns and resistance had been light, but that was expected.

Sergeant Michaels looked at the corpse beside him and cursed. His radio operator Corporal Guarrero had been hit by sniper fire from the small town 120 kliks from the beach. "Okay boys, if they want to play with with the big boys then they get what they ask for." Michaels snatched up the radio. "This is Bravo squad. Need mortar support on cordinates 26,80. Shoot full strike. Guerillas in town. Over."

Soon the telltale streaks of mortars filled the air with their whine and exploded in the town. Building blew appart and screams echoed in the early morning. It seems that the rebels used civilians as human shields.
Well, they had been given orders about how to deal with an situation like that so Michaels and his squad just unslung their rifles and continued to advance toward the town as soon as the mortar fire ceased. Few APC:s and a tank gave them some covering fire.

Meanwhile, a nondescript motorboat carrying four men in civilian clothing landed on a rocky stretch of shore a few miles south of the fighting in LIMA beach.

"Careful now. Careful...I said careful!" *CRASH* "Jeeesuz christ, sergeant! What in the bloody hell are you doing?!"

"I'm sorry sir. There seems to be something wrong with the motor."

"Well there's something wrong with it all right. You destroyed the blasted boat!" The boat scraped along some sharp rocks during the crash. The men disembarked and started unloading what few equipment they had for their mission: two radio sets and provisions. The ranking officer, a major, pulled out a map. "Okay, boys. Here's what we will do, we are to move out and head to the capital. Its a day's travel on foot from here. We'll be traveling in two groups." The major pointed a finger at the map. "Sergeant Lee and I will take this route. Lieutenant Jusuf and Sergeant Reyes, use the route parallel to the main highway. We will reform here, one kilometer away from the capital."

"How about the rebels?" asked Lee. "What if we're discovered?"

"They'll kill or torture us for sure when they discover us AND the radios we are carrying. But they are busy worrying about the assault on the beaches. So long as we stay low, we shouldn't worry about them discovering us. Everything clear? Okay, let's move out." The four started their travel on foot to the capital without a single thought of what they will find out there.

"Sergei, here's some ammo!" yelled Sgt. Grey. He tossed the ammo at Sergei. Sergei reloaded his CZ-85 and fired killing three rushing rebels. A fourth shot scored a lucky hit, killing a rebel in the head from 500ft away. Sergei then picked up an AK-74, for his M4A1 ran out of ammo. He hid behind the wall he was near because by now many rebels were firing at him. Of course, this drew the rebels out which made perfect targets for the sniper teams.
"Colonel, its for you," said the Sgt. Sergei popped a few rounds and ducked inside a bullet ridden building. He picked up the phone

"Icebox, this is 'Wolverine', need assisstence. I count 3- BTR-60s, 2 BMPS, and 3 T55s." There was a pause in the radio operator's voice but Sergei could hear gun shots and cannon rounds in the backround.
"I think- they're close now. Holy s-" then the radio was quiet. "Wolverine this is Icebox." "Wolverine respond!" There was no answer. Sergei hung up the phone.
"Communications with Wolverine have ceased," said Sergei to his radio operator. "Tell Papa Bear we need AT assisstence at India Echo 012," he said. He continued talking. "Sgt. Grey, take five men and a Hummer and make it to Wolverine's last known location. Check the situation then report back to me." Sgt. Grey and five men took a hummer and drove it down the city streets, going foward to Wolverine's position, unknowng what's next.

Greetings,

I have decided to take up on your offer to send our airborne battalion to the Lipany Island airfield for deployment to Malka. Our first transport planes will be on their way as soon as you ackowledge this message.

The Senate and I are glad that nations, such as ours, are working together for the people of a fellow nation in need. The growing threat of communist aggression is evident in this incindent. I believe that you have received intelligence reports of the communist nation of Zusaya aiding these rebels.

As for our operations in the Island of Malka, our Marine division is not doing very well but have already established a somewhat still unsecure beachhead as guerilla attacks are encountered on an almost daily basis. If you may, I would like some information on the status of Novgovan forces on and around the island.

I am hoping to hear from you soon. Good fortunes and prosperity to all of us and our allied nations.

Sgt. Grey quickly drove through the streets. He, three medics, a machinegunner, and a rifleman were heading toward the last known position. Along the way, one or two soldiers took potshots at the hummer but were quickly silienced by the machine gun on top of the hummer. They started to notice that as they drove on and on, more and more rubble was in the streets. Finally, they stopped by the former Wolverine HQ and saw it was a big pile of rubble.

"Holy #%@T!" yelled Sgt. Grey.
A T-55 rolled right past the hummer, seemingly unaware of its presence in the narrow alley. Everyone quickly got out of the hummer and hid in the rubble while Sgt. Grey got out a LAW from the trunk of the hummer. He aimed the LAW at the back of the T-55 and fired it, causing the T-55 to explode. Three apaches flew over head, firing their missles at the rest of the tanks a APCs. Someone climbed out of some rubble accross the street waving a white flag. they came closer to Grey's squad. They quivkly noticed that it was one of their men and he beckoned for the man to come over. The man sprinted and announced himself when he got over to Grey.

"I'm Cpl. Ivickson," he said

"Pleased to meet you," said Grey.

Then the Corporal waved to the rubble and about 15 men came out of rubble all along the street. They all gathered around Grey.

"This is the front tip of Wolverine," he explained. "There are about 40 more men in back of us and to the sides of us. We took out the BTRs quickly so that we didn't have to deal with troops, but we ran out of AT rounds. The long-ranged radios were all destroyed and we couldn't communicate."

Grey gave the Cpl a quick glance then said "Alright then. Good Job." All the men went to form entrenchments and barricades while Grey radioed Papa Bear and HQ, telling everyone Wolverine was alright."
