Today, the government has opened polls, to help it decide whether to continue UN membership:

Senate Spokesman: John Wilkes said,

"We really do wonder how effective the UN really is. It seems as if it is being used as a tool to meddle with internal affairs, and its propositions a waste of time, therefore we do wonder exactly why we still are a member..."

An opposition member said the following:

"You know, UN membership really does mean nothing to us. But surely, the shiny badge is enough to continue membership."

They Supress the Peoples Voice and Will, attempt to rule your Nation without consulting The People. Join them not, Comrade Brethren Ally, for The People should not be Oppressed by a UN Imperialistic Regime.

If you look at it from the viewpoint of whats in the best inteerest of your people, the UN is harmful. It can bring down your economy to the dumps eve if its the best there is. It happened to Credonia. One day we had a powerhouse of a economy, then one UN decision brought it down and it was average. Not only that, they pass some rediculous proposals, like the one on legalized prostitution. What kind of shit is that? So in my opinion, i say screw the UN.

As a UN member you are required to abide by the dictates of the body, however the way the UN is set up, this only leads to factions imposing their personal beliefs and views upon all the members of the UN, especially since many of these cases are not directly political. The UN was created as an avenue for different countries to resolve disputes through communication rather than war, it was not, and should not be used to allow moralists to impose their personal beliefs on others. The fact that recycling is good for the earth, or that citizens should be entitled to some sort of self derminationis irrelevant to the matter because those matters should be left to the individual governments to adopt. Members of the UN are not free states, their rights have been usurped by the whim of the majority, and as many know, the majority of people are not necessarily right.
