Today, the Austar Union government unveiled its new defensive measures.

The system, named the Intention Detecting System, or the IDS for short, works to keep all people who have intentions against national interests outside of the country.

When a person arrives from a foriegn nation, they must enter the IDS. They will be wired up to a complex computer system, where they are asked a series of questions. The computer detects a lie with approximatly 99.8% accuracy.

If it is detected that the person does in fact have intentions against the Austar Union a total of five times, they are provided with a return ticket back to the nation where they came from, and will be denied access from entering the AU.

The person may appeal if only they have residency in the Austar Union, and thereapon, they will undertake a more complex test. If they fail that test, they will be readmitted into society, but will be monitered closely by the National Security Agency.

All people may deny to take the test if they wish, but if they choose to do so, they will be immediatly denied access to AU society, and will be given a return ticket to where they came from.

Estimates put the total accuracy of the IDS at 99.9999%

The IDS will be implemeted at all international airports and seaports, and will be effective as of this time next year.

Sounds awfully complex, but, we are intrigued. We are curious and wish to learn more. If it works for you, surely it would work for us.

Yes it is complex, however in todays world, we must protect our civillians against cowardly fighters...

That is very true, which is why we are interested in this. We wish to observe this in practice.

Credonia would like to develop this system so that we may once again reopen the borders oc Credonia City which has been on literal military lockdown for 3 months (RL)

We will send advisors to your fine nation to help set up a similar or exact system.

A nation as fine as yours should be available to visits from tourists...

Its free in the name of defense against terrorism. We will send advisors to your nation to help you set it up. It will take 1 yr to get it up and running fully.

Another way to bog down flights for hours on end. You realize the flaws in lie detectors is they go off when the person is nervous, I think strapping someone down into a chair right after they got off a long plane ride and starting to ask them question can cause nervousness. Its possible to be trained to trick lie detectors. Also along the same note if the person takes a tranquilizer, there pulse, blood pressure, heartbeat will be lower and the detector will have a harder time detecting lies.

I'm very interested in this system, I would like to implement it as soon as possible, maybe we could work an agreement out.

He's right, though. That can be altered as well. Any lie detector that accurate is a godmod.

OOC: everything about lie dectetors work on involuntary movements. You can still fake it if you are trained, or if your body is in an extremely relaxed state.

How much is all this 'testing' going to cost? You going to be able to get everyone? Economic/Illegal immigrants anyone?

Actually this is not a god-mod test. Lie Detectors now can be up to 99.9% accurate. If you take it 5 times, its going to be much more accurate.

It is true, however that a person can be trained to lie. However, counter-measures against these will include software upgrades in the future, to boost sensitivity.

I do agree that people will be nervous, and there will be some mistakes, inncocent people being sent back home, and there will be the occasional person who manages to get through.

And as for slowing down airport systems, dont you think airport facilities would be upgraded? And of course, demand for airport workers would rise too.

As for the costs, well it can be paid for by my nation for it to be set up. But equipment is bought by the nation who wants it set up. Simply, these plans are free.

It is an intresting system, but I wouldn't adopt it because it would slow down the flow of passengers considerably. Each passenger would have to be checked five times, which could delay their processing signifigantly. My people wouldn't tolerate that type of delay.

That is fine, but do consider the fact that you can boost airport workers numbers, thus boosting speed, which is negatived by this system, coming up about equal...
