Basicaly Im giving you all a model to design your military around.
(only for Right wingers) not because i dont like you left wingers..which i dont. but because if your left wing you probably dont have a large military.
this is on 100million pop scale
And under Forced military service.
(if you dont use a forced military then divide all numbers by about 10)
of the 40 or so million people able to serve you will need a block of 10million in logistics, so Wham there goes a 1/4th your total.
then from there 15 million should be well trained in Basic infantry tactics. And then 5million of them should be further trained in Anti air. Anti armor, and Artillery tactics.
5million go into a nice plump airforce which is backed up by a good deal of Logistics.
and the remaining 10million go into Armor and Navy.
Me myself, my country is completely Landlocked so theres no need for a navy. Plus im a militaristic country and i have a pop of 88million and 60 million in the military. the Remaining 28million people are devoted first to the Logistics of the Military and then to there own personal lives. While most of the Military are Reservists i keep them in the Spartan life style. That is, once in the service they are stuck until they can no longer serve.
15million are in the Airforce. Of these only 200,000 are pilots 80,000 of these pilots fly bombers and Transports/helicopters. leaving me with 120,000 Fighter pilots 4 fighters to a division, 16 to a wing and 64 to a squadron giving me a grand total of 1,875 combat squadrons

10,000 Combat/supply Helicopters
10 million are in the armor. with a total of 500,000 tanks. Using the M1A2 Design which is a Gunner, loader, Driver, and a Commander each tank is crewed by 4. Using the HAPC or Heavy Armored Personal Carrier, which is the newest version of the Bradley Fighting vehicle, Mounting a 75mm Cannon and 2 7.62 machine guns the HAPC is capable of carrying up to 6 combat loaded Marines and has a crew of 4. This vehicle sacrifices Carrying Capacity for Armor and weapons. Roughly 6 million men use these in the armor section. which translates to 600,000 HAPCs The remaining 2million are resonsible for Supplying and maintaining these armored Giants.
10million are in the Artillery, anti tank, anti-air, Recon, special forces and Rear-echelon Pogues. 1million Artillery pieces Mobile and Carry. ranging from 90mm's to the long toms 155's and 105's and the new 208mms used by Division in support of Regiments. All use the new loading system which means that each piece regardless of size requires only a 3 man crew.
Last The infantry makes up 25million of my military, All are Marines and the Armor and Airforce are interlocked within them. Which makes calling in Armor/air/artillery easier because there all trained as riflemen and know one another fairly well.
11million of the men are in support of the actual 14million Fighting men. which are subdivided into Divisions of 20,000 each. 700 Marine Divisions. Of which 200 are required for National defense and garrison duty of the Conquered Territories that make up my Country.

*Disclaimer Yes im aware of the economic drain this would put on a country and yes im aware that im a Militairistic SOB, but arnt you glad that im not at war with your country. the North Koreans and Chinese only had to Fight 1 Marine Division during hte Korean war and they lost 200,000 Men against it and the marines only lost 8k...Just imagine what 500 Marine Divions could do, especialy with the added 5k soldiers each :)
