There are the humans, who have the ranks in this order:
Rookie, Squaddie, Seargant, Captain, Colonel, and comander, but i have made my own rank called Luetenant, between seargant and captain. To become a squaddie, you need at least one kill.

It starts in the begining of the game

Time to start this game off.
we are a team of xcom operatives to locate and capture the aliens off of a Medium scout alien unit. We are granted permission to use lethal weaponry, but our primary objective is to capture the sectoid squad leader in command of the ship. It starts here

Rookie Townes was perspiring. Here he was, fresh out of training, and now he had to go up against aliens, honest to god aliens. His heart raced, his hands shook, he clearly wasn't ready for something like this. He clutched his rifle in one hand, and his electric stun baton in the other.

The skyranger transport was starting to get shaky. It was being hit with light plasma fire from the aliens' terrible weapons. And then, it landed. The bay opened up, and Townes leveled his rifle at the opening...but there was nothing there.

"Townes! Toss a smoker!" His Sargent yelled. He complied with this order, tossing a smoke grenade at the foot of the skyranger's ramp to cover the squad while they exited the craft...

OOC: More later.

The metal clanked ominously as Rookie James ran off the Skyranger landing hatch. The fire they saw coming in was not coming from any visible enemy... They might be hiding out in the rural housing around the landing site, or... "Shit!"

A small, odd vaguely humanoid shape wobbled through the fog. Figuring this was no leader, James leapt behind some shrubs and put his stun rod back in his backpack, and hoisted his assault rifle, letting several bursts of fire at what he assumed to be a sectoid.

"Get us some backup, lieutenant!"

The lieutenant felt little adrenaline as the bay opened and the Rookie threw a smoker. "Everyone, check your weapons and make sure they are loaded and ready. There is an estimated 12 aliens here. Rookie James, what is your status." Crack Crack Crack "Crap, let's move people. Seargant, take a squad of 4. I got myself and two others. Move over and get to cover fire positions for us with a line of fire against that ship." "Roger, sir." "We're going down to help out James and his friends." "Alright maggots, no time for being a sissy. We need to keep these men alive. Do you read me!" "Sir, yes sir!"

Someone grabbed ahold of Townes and yanked him out of the skyranger. While he was getting up, he saw another one of those little brown monsters hiding behind the skyranger's landing gear. He reacted before it did though and he let off a three round burst with his rifle Two 6.7mm rounds impacted with the creature's enlarged head, splattering green blood everywhere as the creature fell.

"What am I afraid of? These things are pussies!" Townes thought to himself. Filled with a new found courage, he ran to join his squadmates.

"Sir, we've found their ship! It landed because something exploded," Yelled the through his comm system. "I'm going inside." "NO, Wait!!" "It's okay sir, its clear. Isn't much...." "Timmy! TIMMY! Timmy, do you respond!" "Lieutenant, we've found a small squad of sectoids......no leader though." bummer, I wonder where he is "Take them out. Make them pay for Timmy." Crack!Crack!Crack!......"Threat nutralized. What the, SIR! we've found their leader!" "Stun him, before he calls for help."

Upon confirmation of a trooper down, James wished he had a medkit, but no such luck. He opened his radio to report back to the liutenant. "I'm a-ok, but so is the little bastards' leader. Entire squad, give me cover fire, I'm going to try and stun the sectoid leader.".

With that, James scrambled from his patch of cover, braving several bolts of searing green plasma, raising his stun rod in the hopes of impaling the creature on it.

OOC: Townes is with the Sarge.

Townes provided covering fire, in an effort to keep the aliens' heads down while James ran at the leader with his stun baton.

"Fire in the hole," yelled the lieutenant. boom A chunk of the aliens head shot up into the air, and landed a few feet away from the lieutenant. "sir, I'm under heavy fire, yelled one rookie." "Suddenly from nowhere, a strobing thunder began. The alien shooting at the rookie exploded as flying bullets from Rookie Thompsons Autocannon. "Oh yeah, I forgot about auto cannons. Supply James Covering Fire ASAP." The strobing thunder began again.

Bare inches from impaling the little alien with his stun rod, a bolt of plasma clips Johnson, making him miss and overextend with his blow, falling over, as the sectoid issues an excited buzzing, lifting its plasma pistol over the fallen Rookie.

"I don't think so you little bug!" Townes took careful aim with his rifle and fired a single shot. The bullet sailed into the alien's head. Unfourtnately, the bullet reflected off its helmet. However, the alien was knocked down for a few seconds by the force of the blast.

"Stun him, nowwwwww!"

Johnson gets around to stabbing the sectoid with his stun rod. Not hard enough to incapacitate it, but it drops the plasma device and falls sluggishly to the ground.

"I need a medic here, it burns like hell!"

The lieutenant looks over the report. 1 member lost, not good. The battle plays through his head, as he hears Timmy scream over and over again.

Will laser rifles be ready by the next mission? I know that is what a lot of people make a beeline for.

IC: Right after the battle was usually the hardest time on poor Townes. He always seemed to get the shakes. The docs told him that it was normal, that it was just the body coming down off its adrenalin high, but it didn't feel like it. Townes thought to himself, "We've lost too many good men in this war, too many, like poor timmy. Pretty soon, there won't be anyone left to sacrifice, and where will we be then?"

He continued: "At least I'm alive, and I got a promotion to boot!" He smiled. "I can't wait to give those alien bastards some retribution, earth style!"

Suddenly, over the base's loud speaker, he heard "Attention all infantry, report to hangar 3. The eggheads in R&D have something to show you.

We have medikits, laser pistols, 2 motion trackers, but laser rifles on on the assembly line :(

"All right, everyone here!".....the captain looks around

"Good. Our interceptor pilots have downed an Harvestor. Most of you have never faced anything like this. It was brought down soon after having taken the cows, but it should still have the cow's corpse. :lol:
We have the new Laser pistol, you will all have it. It is powerful, small, accurate, and has unlimited ammo....""All right!!" yelled the replacement for Timmy, Squaddie Liepet. The Captain gave him a look that could kill anyone. "Sorry." "Well, thats it! Let's rock and roll!"

I would've posted more, but my connection conked out.

Anyway,

IC: Townes and the rest of his squad piled into the Skyranger transport. It would take several hours to reach the alien 'harvester' ship, time which could be well spent sleeping and steeling oneself for the task ahead. Townes felt ready this time, unlike the previous mission. He had become confident, but is he too confident in his own abilities, or is it the alien's time for some pain? Who knows...

OOC2: A thinly disguised bump.

The captain wondered if their were snakemen on this mission. He had faced them once before, and new they were tougher than sectoids. The floaters hadn't showed up either. "Not that I'm hoping they will be there" "Attention X-Com units. We will be landing at the alien crash site in 5 minutes. We suggest you check your weapons and give'em hell!"

Johnson is still in the sickbay, his plasma wound haven given him a severe leg injury.

OOC: Going to have to bow out for this one, but I'm up for future missions! And now to play XCOM ;)

Unlike last mission, Townes was well confident. He had met the alien. He had killed the alien. He did not fear those little grey things anymore. "Landing in five minutes!" The Lt called out to all the assembeled men in the skyranger. He was ready to rock. When the plane landed and the ramp opened, he saw an angry looking snake-creature. "Holy Shit!" Townes took aim with his heavy cannon, a .50 caliber monster that resembeled an anti-tank weapon more than a rifle. BAM! Townes sent a monsterous .50 caliber anti-tank round into the creature's torso. It screamed as its internal organs were ripped apart by the pressure of the blast. But in the snake's last dying moments, it managed to fire a shot from its plasma pistol. Townes instinctivly used his heavy gun to shield himself from the glowing green ball of superheated death that spiraled towards him. The gun did its job, but the plasma melted the barrel. He wouldn't be using that gun again. He reached into his holsters and pulled out two laser pistols. Someone else tossed a smoker outside the skyranger's ramp, and the squad began making their way down to the odd hexagonal shaped UFO...

"Crap!" The captain knew that death tolls were much higher when fighting snakemen. All he needed was for his men to be slaughtered. Snakemen were stronger, faster, and more brutal than sectoids, but they had no mind powers and were pretty dumb. Check its weapon.

Seems to me there is a distinct lack of Sectoid angst, and yet has one Muton thrown a Plasma gun at a rookie.

I suppose someone would have to play the robbers.

anyway;

IC: Townes began looking at the forest. It was dark, too dark. Plus, the aliens could just hide there and take potshots at the team. He knew that most of the aliens would be inside the ship. It would be better to let someone with a bigger gun handle the ones outside, who would probably be at long range. Yes. His pistols would be more effective inside the cramped UFO.

He moved up to the UFO's motion-sensitive door. It slid open, to reveal a very surprised snake. Townes unloaded a torrent of laser beams into the alien creature's torso, but it was still standing. It raised its plasma rifle, but before it could fire, townes rammed his laser pistol into the alien's gaping jaw and fired...

OOC2: another IC post will come later today.

IC: Townes moved into the ship and came upon two aliens. Unfourtnately for them, they didn't notice him. He sent a virtual flood of laser beams into the creature's thinly armored backs. Both of them let out a hideous scream as they fell, surely alerting any other aliens in the ship. "This is Townes, I'm clearing the ship, over..."
