Tyrandis scientists manipulate "superstrings"

TNS Broadcast:

Researchers at the Institute for Applied Physics have manipulated several superstrings, yielding various basic particles.

Superstrings are essentially the fundamental constituents of the universe. Physicists have speculated that the vibrations of these strings create the particles familiar to daily life (protons, electrons, neutrons, etc.), but until now had no hard experimental data to back up the hypothesis.

The method used to manipulate the strings remains heavily classified, though inside sources have indicated that the equations of Dr. William Tachs played a large role in the experiment.

The Armed Forces of the Republic are very interested in this breakthrough, citing "an opportunity to further the defense of our nation". Experts believe that the military is concerned with the synthesis of antimatter for weapons production.

Farfetched prospect requests that you stop these experiments, our research says that a mistake with "superstrings" could cause a gamma flash and nicely destroy living matter within the solar system....thank you

The P4lladian scientific community is highly interested in this research and would like to offer our assistance in manipulating these miniscule building blocks. We understand that this information is classified and potentially dangerous if leaked to the wrong entity, we would still like to request that you open some of your books for us. We understand your reluctance, but be assured that we share the same motivation: genuine interest in the world around us.

Also, that truly is a farfetched prospect. Numerous scientific advisors have confirmed by belief that you're just making that up. They also suggest reading a few books on quantum mechanics.

Our nation has also taken an interest to high-energy physics, and developing a feasible method of FTL travel is also one of our goals for our space program. Perhaps knowledge gained from these experiments will further our cause - we would like to collaborate with your government on research regarding this area.

As a sign of goodwill, we have donated 1 billion dollars to your research. We hope to hear from you soon.

OOC: Applied Physics, Superstring Theory, both are technologies in Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. Coincidence?

IC: Such tampering with reality is extremely hazardous, and could have a similiar effect to a cubic mile of Acigoo. Muktar requests you divert your experiments to something less hazardous.

This like I said....please stop this rescearch

If progress was halted everytime there was an objection, such as you are making now, there would be no such thing. Years ago scientists created a miniature blackhole, which theoretically, would dissipate in an instant due to Hawking's radiation. And it did. Public uproars about gigantic mass accelerators were without valid reasoning.

We have full faith that Tyrandis will take the necessary precautions to ensure that nothing dangerous occurs.

Ow but black holes are differen't, they tend to evaporate within micro seconds. Messing with superstring might trigger a Gammaflash that nicley sterilises the solarsystem, but go ahead, kill yourselfs I don't care anymore

Tyrandis welcomes the support of RC, and will use the funds to further our research.

We have tried to generate tachyon particles using strings, but the combination continues to elude us. The equations of Dr. Tachs, though exceptionally precise, are still mere approximations of the actual equations involved in the activities of superstrings.

Tachyon particles are believed to have an imaginary mass by most physicists. Thus, we believe that they are the key to FTL travel; having an imaginary mass frees them from the lightspeed limit imposed by Einstein's special relativity.

We eagerly await working with members of P4lladia's esteemed scientific community in our quest to further mankind's knowledge.

this research is most interesting, particularly in the light of Marcelonia's own recent scientific breaktrough regarding antimatter. We would advocate a mutual interest in joint research.

For nations who doubt the safety of our experiments, be assured that it will not cause a catastrophic warping of spacetime.

OOC: What is "Acigoo" anyways?
Joshu

Members of the scientific community in Joshu would also like to offer assistance to Tyrandis. Seeing as how P4lladia is the leading nation of Ninjao, it seems only right that Joshu help out in the research effort as well.

And as for Farfetched Prospect's calls to halt this research (and erroneous reason for such an outburst), I can do nothing but reiterate what P4lladia said. Knowledge of quantum mechanics would be quite useful in this subject. (And remember: Ninjao is in the midst of its War on Error campaign. So watch your step. Have a nice day!)

actually they are not HVC's are there hyper velocity cloads they are beleved to be the link between galaxy's. little is known about them now but in theary there is a ton of em out there that go from one galaxy to another

The Grand Duchy of Pratev wishes the Tyrandis physics research community success in its efforts to manipulate superstrings. While caution is certainly warranted, we are confident that suitable precautions have been taken to prevent the collapse of the false vacuum to its lowest quantuum state, thus destroying all matter in a spherical area originating at the point of collapse and propagating at the speed of light. Our own research suggests that the energy contained in the false vacuum is not at its lowest possible state. We would be happy to send a few of our own research specialists to verify the manipulations, and discuss methods for the creation of free gravtions.

Thank you very much for your assistance, Pratev. A P4lladian corporation has developed a nice, efficient contained unit that can produce electromagnetic pulses in the frequency range necessary for modifying the vibration of the strings. Theoretically, with refined formulae, we will be able to feed the device numbers and have it transmute particles on the fly. The involved nations in this project are working frantically to refine the aforementioned equations.

If your scientists come up with anything, contact us for testing with the device. Tyrandis also has a prototype.
