Thunder has struck...

12-02-2004, 23:36
Full cloud overcast darkens the sky over Barentsburg. No moonlight. Perfect night for a sabotage mission.

Fishing boat sails towards the coastline, and makes a stop few kilometers before the shore. Nobody would suspect this small decayed boat, and that's what the terrorists count on. Five men fell to the ocean and dive with their mini-subs (http://www.scubatow.com/image/scuba/005.jpg), couple meters below the water surface and head towards the coast. On the shore, the team leader checks their position with GPS receiver. 10 km west from the Barentsburgian Navy depot, exactly as planned. Others have already unloaded their gear and set ready for the relatively short, but certainly dangerous march towards the depot.

Almost half-way there, the men suddenly hear the roar of an diesel engine, coming closer. They quickly hide and one of them arms his LAW anti-tank missile. An Army XA-203. He takes careful aim, ready to fire if they are spotted. Luckily, the APC passes by. A sigh of relief can be heard.

Not meeting any other enemies, the team arrives at an hilltop overlooking the naval depot. The leader observes movement with an night binocular for a while. Only a few guards outside and they don't look too focused. Inside the guardhouse seems to be few soldiers... Fools. They shall learn not to sit inside drinking coffee all the time. They shall feel the wrath of Thunder, tonight. The five men quickly move towards the fence, one of them cuts a hole in it with pliers. A missile destroyer is docked farther away, the men are anxious to blow it up... but not tonight. Waterproof sack filled with C4 charges is opened and they plant charges at several Seahawk helicopters. Time to detonation; 20:00 minutes. Well enough to leave the scene. As swiftly as they came, they left through the hole in the fence.

In a dense birch forest, they stop for a moment. 5 minutes left. Silently, they continue to the extraction zone, 8 kilometers south-west of the depot. An Zodiac rubber-boat is already waiting for them. All 70 hp are unleashed from the outboard engine, as the boat almost glides above the water. 5 seconds... 4... 3.... 2... 1... Multiple flashes are seen coming from the depot. Mission succesful. The Night Thunder has struck for the first time, but not for the last time. They shall feel the thunder, and see the lighting.

OOC: Night Thunder is yet another terrorist organization. The reason that I posted this, is that I want to learn RPing, especially because english is not my native language, writing a story can get difficult. So I figured this would be the best way.
I am also controlling Barentsburg, but NT is like the other side of the coin.
I'll make a response to this in BB's character tomorrow, when I get out of work. I'd probably would have written a longer and better :P post, but gotta go to sleep now...
Propably will be keeping this ”private”, but be free to post OOC. Constructive criticism needed, thank you. :)

Title fixed. ;)

((Howdy, and welcome to the forum! I'm afraid I don't have time to join in right now, but I did want to say that one can hardly tell English isn't your native language.

The only thing, and it's fairly minor, is that your title should has "Thunder has struck..." Other than that, it looks pretty good!
