The City has fallen. Hattian Civil War. (Open RP)
OOC: Leningrad is located in the foothills next to the Northern Mountains. Rebels from the old capitalist government have hidden out in tunnels under the mountains for years. The tunnels were constructed by another older government to help house garrisons in the mountains.
Leningrad: 0130 hours
Lt. Krushinsky had been given gate duty that night, along with Private
Litvinovich. "Bloody hell, they could have at least given us a vehicle to sit in." The Private nodded, he looked around and tapped the thermometer that the guards kept attached to the gate, "-1 degree fareinheit." Krushinsky looked over to the barracks, "Everyone is asleep, go get some wood from over in the woods and we can make a fire, I'll look for my lighter." Litvinovich nodded and ran off. Krushinsky rummaged through his coat, "There it is." he pulled out his lighter and then he took a cigarette out of another pocket.
Litvinovich had made it to the nearby woods and was gathering up some dead wood. He heard a twig snap behind him "Who's there?" A gunshot rang out striking him in the arm, "Shit!" he pulled out his pistol and fired off 2 shots into the darkness before another bullet struck him in the face...
Krushinsky heard the gunshots, He began to run over to the gatehouse when he was struck in the leg. He collapsed and pulled himself
into the gatehouse and pressed the alarm button before blacking out.
The old Soviet tanks that had been stolen by the rebels rolled into the city. Most of the Home Guard's T-55s were destroyed quickly and they began to rout.
City Hall: 0224 hours
What was left of the Home Guard had holed themselves up in the City Hall, which had thick walls encircling it. "What a day for our tanks to be requisitioned to the capital." remarked Commander Stefanov of the Home Guard in Leningrad, "They must have someone on the inside." A radioman ran up to him, "Sir, Haton said they will send support, but it won't be here for 2 days. And we have also gotten reports that some of the Agents from the HIIS (Hattian Internal Intelligence Service) have holed themselves up in their building and are requesting help." The Commander nodded, "How many tanks do we have?" "We have 7 T-55s and 2 T-72s, and about 150 men left." Stefanov grimaced, "We will hold, we have to!"
City Hall: 0743 hours
A Rebel walked out of City Hall and placed a pike with Stefanov's head on it into the ground.
Prime Minister's Office: 0747 hours
"Comrade Prime Minister, Leningrad has fallen!" Prime Minister Nikolai stood up, "How, the rebels shouldn't have been able to defeat our armor, no matter how obselete it was." The messenger nodded, "Yes, apparently they have been stealing them from our junkyards before they were destroyed, and then fixing them up. They might have gotten some from a foreign government also. They launched a suprise attack and destroyed most of the tanks before the crews could get to them." Nikolai had to sit down, "Do we know how many of them that there are?" the messenger looked at the piece of paper he was holding, "Not exactly, estimates are around 6 to 7 thousand. And they might recieve foreign aid from our enemies..." The Prime Minister pulled out his bottle of vodka and poured himself a shot, "We have to crush them, now! Send all available army
units to Leningrad, except for the Home Guards in Haton, and the other cities, we can't let this get out of hand."
Leningrad: 0813 hours
The leader of the capitalist rebels walked down from the wall after he had addressed the residents of the city, he walked down into the courtyard
in front of a camera...
Message to the Governments of the World.
"Greetings, this is President Alexei Gordev of the true Republican government of Hattia. To long have the heathens ruled Hattia, leading
the country into moral decline. To long has this nation called communist regimes 'Comrade'. To long has the true government been resigned
to live in tunnels like rats. It ends now, we will behead the infidels for all of the world to see, as we have done here. We need assistance in our crusade to reinstall the rightful government of Hattia, as the armies of the infidels are strong."
Hmm, that Bump on my arm is getting bigger...
Christopher Anderson, Benevolent Dictator of Gurian, sat in his office, reading the report about Hattia.
"Fascinating," he said to himself. Christopher got up and paced around his office.
"We cannot get involved, this is an internal matter. I shall have to send this to the press should they start bugging me."
* * *
Gurian's headlines read, "Gurian to Remain Neutral in Hattian Conflict". There was much talk about this and Christopher Anderson received much feedback. Some commended him, others requested he support the government, and others still requested he support the rebels.
In response to this, Christopher said, "We shall remain neutral until we are affected by the conflict. This does not concern us, it concerns the Hattians. We will, however, offer relief supplies to both sides."
* * *
Cargo planes flew over Hattia, escorted by fighters. Some flew over rebel strongholds and others over the government's areas. Food, blankets, and medical supplies were being parachuted down to both sides of the conflict.

Ill retake the nation if you wants me to?
Seated at his desk in Nuevo Monterrey, holy capital of Tepalguana, Emperor Rodriguez receives an important message from his Intelligence Directorate.
It reads:
"Ave, Emperor Rodriguez,
We have received reports of an insurgency in Hattia. Capitalism has overthrown Communism. Requesting orders."
The Emperor turns, and begins to write his own letter to the insurgents who have taken over the capital of Hattia.
"Armed revolutionaries,
We admire your fervid personalities, although we frown upon the excessive violence. The Empire of Tepalguana is willing to commit some numbers to your aid.
Cordially,
The Holy Emperor of Tepalguana"
After the letter is finished, the Emperor stands, and deposits it in the outgoing mail.

The Commonwealth Navy has ordered every available ship into waters near Hattia, while the 8th and 9th Airborne divisions have mobilized and are prepareing for a possible drop into Hattia (if requested).
We have received reports of an insurgency in Hattia. Capitalism has overthrown Communism
They did not overthrow the government, they took a major city in the north while a large number of our troops have been deployed. Leaving mostly the Home Guard (Militiamen) to fight them.
Message to Seversky and Dr_Twist
We thank you for your support, Seversky may begin paradrops near Leningrad and we will welcome support from Dr_Twist. Please try to limit civilian casualties, as Leningrad is a rather large city.

"Your kidding me" Vladimir Dzerzhink said from his commmand chair.
"No commander, Hattia is indeed facing revolution as well" The Colonel responded quietly.
Dzerzhinsk sighed deeply, remembering the casualties taken during Operation Emerald Sky.
He was but a Major General then(Two Star) But he was the Theatre Commander.
"We should concentrate on The rebels within CHOCHEZKOO'S Borders sir" The colonel said
"No, Hattia lost too many men in Emerald Sky to protect the Panjshir Flank for us. We will send aide if need be"
The colonel grimaced, but then said
"Yes, sir" and walked away. He came back moments later with an STU(Secure telephone Unit)
Dzerzhinsk called Hattia's prime minister.
The phone rang, then answered.
"Nikolai, It's me Dzerzhinsk"
"Hello again Comrade, what do you need?"

The three old transport ships crashed against the sand bar on the coast. it's massive docking bay began to open. From it's huge interrior tanks and men spilled onto the shore line. Several voice could be heard over the noise.

With most of LRR's forces tied up in another war, a single Black Watch platoon can be spared for aiding Hattia. From an airfield in LRR, an Il-76 takes off, headed towards Hattia.
After several hours of flight, they are over the Hattian border.
"Attention, Hattian control, this is the 12th Black Watch brigade requesting drop permission. We have 45 troops to aid you against your rebels, and we suggest dropping them in the capital."
OOC: My apologies, I didn't read the post well enough.

The first carrier to arrive on station is the Defiant. She has launched Vigilantes to perform photo recon of the DZs.
The 1st Battalion/1st Birgade/8th Division is set to drop in 30 minutes, followed shortly there after by the rest of the birgade. They will be landing near Leningrad, and will establish positions outside the city.
As these are paratroopers, they will be lightly armed and only carry limited amunition and food. Additional forces and equipment will follow.
"That would be great, this is a rather sticky situation. We can't bomb the city, as it would probably help the rebels by giving them new recruits. We are going to have to fight house to house, so casualties will most likely be high. If you are still willing to commit troops, I thank you. And these men have most likely been in the mountains their whole lives and aren't going to give up easily, especially if they get international support..."

The ironic thing is that the Republicans are hiding out in the same strongholds that the Marxists did when we fought them...

"Roger that, Hattia. We are inbound."
The Il-76 reaches Leningrad after another hour of flying, the city lights bright under the aircraft. The rear door opens up, and black shapes begin jumping into the night sky. They land all over the city, with orders to regroup at the city library.
Captain James Shepard descends down through the sky. To his delight, he was not headed for the busy street below, but for an apartment building, which he promptly lands on, followed by a corporal and his radioman.
"Well, we're here. Let's get down to street level."
They find a door, and begin descending through the apartment building. Their G-36s and ATGMs are slung over their backs.

"Sir, it's doubted that unless major support is sent, the rebels will not be able to hold Leningrad. Our intelligence reports Seversky soldiers are already being dropped in around the city, and it's doubtful the rebels can hold it with what we have been able to ascertain they have." Grand Admiral Richard Tovey stood at the base of the desk, the projector displaying a map of the area behind him, with areas the rebels controlled, areas the government controlled, and areas where Seversky soldiers were likely to be deployed.
"If I may ask Admiral," the word came off the minister of Munitions tongue with each letter stressed "of what consquence is anything in Hattia to the Republic, I believe we have our own borders to look after, and with the Agricultural Improvement Project still underway, we cannot afford to weaken our positions, lest piracy begin to reign."
"With all due respect Minister, according to our intelligence within certain groups, Hattia is one place we should be, lest anyone here forgets what happened when we sat out the Canadian Revolution." A grumble spread throughout the room as memories of the Imperial Canadian War bubbled to the surface, indeed the two situation were remarkably similar.
"Admiral, if I may ask, exactly what would you have us do, I don't think I need to remind you, we are spread incredibly thin in most places, our reserve forces are all mostly deployed, is this correct?" The minister of Foreign Affairs chimed in with his own question.
"That is true sir, the three naval task forces assigned to be mobile reserves have all been deployed, the 9th Naval to Unangan, the 12th Naval to Canadian Princes, and the 1st Battlefleet to reinforce Sevilla Naval Command in the wake of merchant raiding, but at least two of them can be used in this operation."
"Frankly, the 1st Battlefleet is not needed in Sevilla anymore, the reports of Merchant raiding proved true, however the convoy system we utilized in that sector worked remarkably well, and none of our ships have been attacked, the 1st battlefleet has been sitting idly by in the port itself. While conversely the 9th Naval Squadron is in close proximity to a Seversky fleet at Unangan, and can act as a deterrent for them not to pull that force away."
"This is all good and well, but as we learned during the Canadian Revolution, controlling the waters around a country will not assure victory without a force on land" The Minister of munitions again spoke up, and several ministers nodded in agreement with him.
"I would assume the Army would have some force ready, if I'm not mistaken, the Republic Expeditionary Force that was formed for the Largent Civil War, is still sitting in Port Royal and Corregidor, no doubt that should the situation on the ground become imperiled, they could be sent."
"You speak of war Admiral, knowing full well the Republic cannot do such an act without the consent of the Senate"
"I am aware Minister, I don't propose we send those forces in immediately, rather, that we send in "observers" to Hattia, and then wait for the Senate to approve military action. Under the terms of the National Defense Act, the War Ministry has the right to arm and train any force deemed necessary to the defense of the Republic or it's interests, no doubt this situation applies?"
The Minister of munitions shrank back from his seat, but Tovey knew that was not the last argument he would have, the Minister would wait for a meeting that the President or Chancellor was present at to push his cuase.
"Very well Admiral, make what plans you like, send your observers, and Minister Kelly, make requisitions for more arms and munitions from our factories then usual, we will begin to form a plan of how to get these materials to Leningrad. Have the Diplomatic Corps dispatch someone immediately to Leningrad to speak with this "President" Alexei Gordev, something about his words still has me on edge. Alright, get to work" With that the Vice President ended the meeting, and one by one the ministers and military leaders filed out of the room, leaving Tovey and Kelly still at the table, without a word, Kelly looked up at Tovey, and a smirk crawled across his face, he then left, leaving Tovey to ponder exactly what this little man had been doing.
----------------------------------------------------------------
- The 1st Battlefleet has been ordered to set sail from Port Royal and head towards Hattia in one formation and await further orders from just outside Hattian Waters. A larger then usual number of merchant ships has been reported traveling with the 1st Battlefleet, what they could be loaded with, is not public knowledge.
- The Diplomatic Corps has sent James Rowlinson, an esteemed diplomat, in a civilian transport ship, towards Hattia, with the intention of trying ot bring a peaceful end to the rebellion, however he really intends to get inside Leningrad, meet with Alexei Gordev, and have the final say on whether or not the Republic should support the rebels
- The 23th Regiment of the 4th Airborne Division has been deployed to Port Royal Naval Air Command, where Army Air Transport Command has sent a large force of transport planes, with the intention of dropping them into Leningrad, masking the force as a Seversky drop. A large number of KC-130's have also been reporting flying from other Federal Military bases, presumably to ensure this force is fueled all the way to Hattia.
General Yakov Jherico stood looking out at the road with his lieutenant.
"Leningrad is about one hundred miles west of here, General."
"Good, we should get moving when we can..."
"Right then!" The Lieutenant said into a mega phone. "Lets get under-" His head snapped foward.
"Ambush!!" Men screamed as rebels came out of no where. The numbers of the Halladi forces crushed the small scout force. Thirty five cassualties had been taken.

President Verian-Saiyoto paced across the shoreline of Avalon City, at the Naval Shipyards where a dozen new warships were under construction. He was contemplating his next moves for his forces in the civil war when an aide ran up to him with a message in hand.
"Sir, the Hattian forces are moving moving to assault Icehold, apparently its become a personal vendetta between Reed and the Hattians..." the aide was speaking.
"Not surprising, order our warships on route to offer any sort of assistance the Hattian force needs, but make sure they keep their mission in mind, I want those Junisarian warships sunk or captured!" the president ordered.
"Sir, there's more" the aide gulped.
"What?" the president asked, fearing more troops had chosen to side with the Junisarians in the wake of the acceptance of Hattian aid.
"Theres a rebellion in Hattia" the aide responded.
"Damnit! Just what we need!" the president cursed.
"What do you want to do?" the aide asked.
"They are assisting us, we will assist them" the President nodded as he thought to himself.
"Sir, we must keep our present territory well defended, although we may have hundreds of thousands in training, the Junisarians have that also" the aide said, unsure of what sort of aid the Loyalist government could give.
"We will send several armed merchant ships, some Protecteurs loaded with supplies, and a few cargo vessels loaded with a battalion each of new Northman MBTs, Arctic Wolf MBTs, and LAV 4 Peacekeepers, also send in design schematics for each of those vehicles and some engineers to help Hattia build them. I have been intending on submitting a slew of military technology to the Hattians for their assistance to us, its the least we can do" the President said.
"So are we sending any ground troops?" the aide asked.
"Yes...a regiment, nothing more, I want them to be all volunteers, the last thing I need is for them to be turning on the Hattians and joining the rebels" the president said.
"Um, sir, theres another thing that you should DEFINATELY know...intelligence reports that Chochezkoo has just gotten in contact with the Hattian government, there still allies...and we believe they will be offering aid to the Hattians" the aide said.
"Very well, I will compose a message to the Hattian government and a public broadcast. Tell me if anything new happens" the president ordered.

Subject: Your capitalist rebellion
Message:
Prime Minister Nikolai, word has just reached me of your little rebellion in Leningrad. While I would like nothing better then to send in the Winter's Warriors, Tundric Warriors, and the many other premier divisions of the TDF, as you well know, our situation does not permit it. However, we are managing to spare several cargoships, several Protecteur class replenishers, and multiple armed merchant ships. Aboard the cargoships are three battalions of fresh-from-the-factory vehicles, and design schematics and engineers to help you build the most advanced vehicles in our rather advanced arsenal, including our just devloped Northman MBTs. We are also sending three thousand volunteers to assist in your fight. However, I must make one request, I will be placing the Tundric forces under your direct, personal command, yet I ask only that you do NOT let them fight alongside any Chochezken personnel, as our intelligence, which has been keeping close tabs on Chochezkoo, informed us of their recent phone call. Should the Tundric forces and Chochezken forces meet side by side, I have no doubt that it would only in great slaughter for both sides, as the memory of the Third Arctic Dragoons' annihalation is still a bitter memory in our minds.

Subject: Fighting against your heretic government
Message:
While you may not be believe in the cause of the great Lord Junisar, you are nevertheless fighting against Junisar's enemies of the Hattian communist government, the same ones who are supporting the overthrown Heretic government under the unbeliever Verian-Saiyoto. We will offer you the aid of whatever forces you need to assist you.
"This is Mark McTavish of the Avalon News Network, we now go live to the office of President Verian-Saiyoto."
The screen switches to what has become the new office of the president, located inside an underground bunker deep underground beneath Avalon City. "Greetings citizens of the Tundra. Earlier today, rebels seized control of the Hattian city of Leningrad. While I have heard some grumbling that we should aid these rebels as they are capitalists like many say we are. But, I do not feel that we are true capitalists. And even if we were, the Communist government of Hattia has proven itself to be true and good, and is one of our closest allies at this moment. They are helping us in our time of need, and we shall help them. I put out a request for three thousand volunteers to fight against the rebels in Hattia, I got three hundred thousand. Sadly, our current situation means we can only spare so much, so only a regiment of 3000 is being sent. It is my hope that this rebellion in Hattia does not turn into such a bloody conflict as our own has, and I call upon all the people of the Tundra to voice their support of the Hattian government" the President concluded another one of his quick speeches, all of which had become less and less well written due to the demands of fighting the civil war.
OOC: If you want me to stay out, or only have on faction come in, simply say so, as im afraid I might be tempted to turn Hattia into a battlefield between Junisarians and Loyalists lol
OOC: The reason Leningrad is a hard city to fight in, is that most vehicles can only fit onto the few main roads, most of the city is connected by small streets and alleys. And CT, you can help, I don't mind if you connect this to your civil war, we need some people to help the rebels.
Message to the Tundric President
We thank you for your support. We will continue to help your nation, as we do not need fleets to fight the rebels.

He poked his head out of the top of his Command APC and looked ahead towards the City they were approaching. Black smoke rose from the Ruined walls and gunfire could be heard in the backround.
"Alright, Have the tanks circle up around the city, I want APC's ready to stormed the walls, and I Definitly want the 45th to be covering our backs, there are probanly more troops in the mountains, than in the city"

"Give the Forces inside the city One chance to surrender" Said Yuriy to his Operations colonel.
"Yes sir." He replied.
Within seconds, a loudspeaker had been set up and a man was making a demand through it.
"You are to Disarm yourself and come out of the city immediately, or we will be forced to attack"
The Answer, was that of an RPG, Which fell horribly short of the closest tank by about 20 yards
"Bombard the city walls. Destroy any buildings that are being used as cover, but do not hurt civilians if you do not have too" Yuriy stated Coldly.
"Yes Comrade General" Came the reply.
The Chochezken tanks surrounding the town began to open fire, making quick work of the (stone?) walls.
"Comrade General, Hattia is plunging into a civil war!" an aide ran in saying.
"Hattia?! Our long-time friend and ally?" was the general's response. "Where were our intelligence services on this matter? Do we not receive any information from the Hattian colony to our east?"
*************
"General, we mustn't allow this to happen," the admiral admitted. "We know what we have to do. Hattia has helped us, and now we must help them."
*************
The men were all prepared to move out. General Topolev met with Admiral Vasilev aboard the Moskva, Vasilev's command ship. He was setting sail with Third Fleet and Topolev's Amphibious Assault Team. In total, there were 2 Carrier Groups and 3 Landing Groups, equipped with all of the latest tanks and other battlefield necessities.
Vasilev gave a short speech, broadcast out among the ships before ordering radio silence.
"Men of the army of Higera, today we get to show our strength against those who wish to deface the name of Marxism-Lenninism. We must show the world that not only is our society better, but our military might is the strongest in the world. None will stop us on our way to victory! We will fight alongside our Comrades, and we will swim in the blood of our enemies! Long Live Hattia and Higera!"
**************
The special operations teams all crossed the border into Hattian Higera. They had forged passports to make them appear to be part of a diplomatic corps. Things were uncertain in Hattian Higera, as their mainland was currently going through rough times. Some cells had opened up in Hattian Higera, but most were still predominately Communist (ooc: unless you don't want them to be).
Colonel Suslov led the group and its men towards the colony's airport. Flights in and out of Hattia from their territories were much easier to find than those from other countries. Even though a civil war was happening, there were still citizens that had to do their business.
Suslov and his team of 12 were all wearing suits and carried briefcases. They appeared to be ordinary diplomats, but the content of their luggage was vastly different. Each man had his own rifle that he preferred, all dismantled and placed in the overhead compartment.
The plane took off, bound for Hattia. The men's orders would come later, after the initial infiltration had been accomplished.

Above the Haton Mtns.
"Command, this is Eagle 1. I have spotted Rebels moving out of the mountains. Requesting airstrike..."

Infantrymen and tanks began to roll out of the city, up the highway to the north...
The road to Leningrad
Captain Tartarin of the Home Guard had not signed up for this. He hated the woods, especially at night, and he really didn't like being the forward scout. He had signed up to do guard duty in Haton, not lead his men down a rebel infested road in the middle of a forest at night. There was the crack of a gunshot and the man in front of him fell. "Sniper!" his men scattered into the woods. He pulled out his radio, "Everyone all right?" The sniper fired again, this time narrowly missing Tartarin. He saw the muzzle flash. Tartarin hefted his Ak-74 and fired off a barrage of rounds towards the sniper, being rewarded with a scream. Again he picked up his radio, "Okay everyone, problem solved." The trucks of infantry began to roll towards Leningrad again.

Yuriy Gogol thought that the operation was going pretty good so far, until he saw the Gun barrels appear over the wall.
"Get those artillery pieces out"
But it was too late. The guns fired. Artillery pieces were very difficult to aim in the horizontal position, but they were still deadly.
The tank next to Yuriy's took a round right in the front. The T-90's whole form had been made to resist anything and the tanbk kept firing, but within the first 30 minutes, three tanks on Yuriys part of the city alone had been disabled, most of their crews had made it out though.
Send in the Infantry to take out those guns.
Immediatly, 17 Apcs started rolling down the hill and roughly 70 MPH, charging at the artillery pieces.
The Immense 30mm cannons the Chochezken liked So much, were taking their toll on the artillery already.
The Apcs Entered the city through Holes in the walls made by tanks andthey unloaded their troops.
"Second wave go NOW" Yuriy shouted as 17 more APCs copied the previous movement.
Yuriy now had a Regiment inside the city, fighting through the streets.
"I want one tank support or ever two APCs" he shouted into his radio.
Tanks began to roll down the hill and into the city.

Reenforced by the 1st birgade of the 2nd Mech Division, the 1st and 2nd of the 8th AirBorne have reached the out skirts of Lenningrad and are holding to be reenforced before entering the city in any type of force.
Small, Platoon sized patrols have begun to sweep the outskirts of the city, and have not encountered anyone, much less capitolist rebels. It appears as tho this section of the city has been recently abandoned.
An artillary Battery of the 7th AirCav division have positioned themselves on 2 hills overlooking the city. This Battery has 24 155mm Howitzers and is prepared to offer fire support to any position inside the city.
The first real anti armor support for the paratroopers has arrived, in the form of a AH-3B squadron that has been flown in. This unit, belonging to the 7th AirCav division, should be opperational currently, and begining recee of Lenningrad itself.
The First Battalion of the 3rd Birgade of the 1st Armored Division has landed, and is heading up Highway 1 on their way to Lenningrad. They are supported by the 2nd and 3rd of the 2nd Mech Division.
-MoW release.
Aiden Cross laughed meniacly.
"I can not die!" The tank commander said with his Irish accent. "Fire!"
The main turret on his prized T-90 fired, hitting a group of scrambling rebels ahead on the road. A platoon of men moved ahead of his tank. About fifty metres out fire from either side of the snow covered road lit up with weapon fire.
"Fire at the left side!"
He took the machine gun infront of him and aimed at the right side of the road. The turret boomed. The machine gun fire cut across the tree line.
A rocket came flying at them. It hit and bouced off the front amour, hitting the ground and exploding. It had barely scratched the tank.
"Fire at the right side!" The turret rotated and boomed out.
The Comm set buzzed to life. "Aiden? Do you copy? Leave some of those bastards for the infantry."
A moment later another rocket flew at the tank. It punctured the armour, hitting the munitions. The tank dissapeared under smoke and fire.

OOC: Hattia, is there anything that our special forces can do to help?
Ambushes had become frequent and expected. But, at long last the two divisions had made it to Leningrad. The men and tanks began to bear down on the city, looking carefully at what allies and enemies were around.
The Canadian Tundra
15-02-2004, 16:03
The armed Merchant ships came up to Marx Island, the site where most of the Tundra's participation in the Emerald Sky campaign had been centered around. Two of the Cargoships broke off the main force and drifted into port, docking at the same docks the Tundric troopships had unloaded entire divisions of troops into Marx City years earlier.
For a few minutes it seemed as if history was repeating itself, an Arctic Wolf MBT rolled off, followed by another, and then another, until an entire Battalion had rolled off. The old citizens of Marx Island may have very well thought a second invasion had come, were it not for the Hattian troops standing to greet the Tundric forces.
The commander of the small force of ships greeted the Hattian commander of the city and signed several papers, officially transferring the 36 Arctic Wolfs to Hattian control.
The second cargoship unloaded a large shipment of cash. Reparation funds, although the Tundra had never been required to pay reparations, after Hattia's entering into the Tundric civil war, it seemed the least they could do.
Then the two ships left the port, one headed towards Hatton with two more battalions of vehicles, design schematics, and engineers to help Hattia produce the newest and greatest equipment used by the Tundric Defence Forces.
As the ships left, they could see some scars left by their forces from years earlier. As they moved around the Island and headed towards a landing site to unload their three thousand troops to assist in defeating the rebels, they came across the wreckage of one of their frigates. Sonar had picked it up. They had prepared for this, and one of the vessels stopped and dropped a submersible, intent on investigating the wreckage.

Sgt. Dmitri Prolvalov had never seen such carnage. He was among the nearly 272 Chochezken Men inside the city of Leningrad. Dmitri was acting as his squadron's point man, and he was roughly 200 ft in front of the rest of his men
The rebels had pillaged, raped and/Or slaughtered half of the city's population. The srteets were slick with blood.
Dmitri gagged at the smell of death. The only thing distracting him was the constant sound of gunfire around every corner.
He Ran forward and ducked behind a car parked on a street. He raised his H&K G36E Assault Rifle and gazed through the optical scope at a large group of capitalist forces. There were at least four tanks.
"Okay Oleg, have them bring up the anti- tank weapons quick"
"Acording to Hattian High Command, the rebels control control that part of the city infront of us."
"Civilians?"
"Most have fled. And any that remain are likely not there."
"Good, line the tanks on the hill and fire!"
"Yes, sir."
Two Hours Later
The row of nearly four hundred tanks and artillery were assembled from the ranks of the two divisions. In Unicine they unloaded on the city infront of them. Buildings collapsed, and the noise was deafning.
Commissars linned and rallied the men. "Be ready for the charge!"
The tanks ended their bombartment.
"CHARGE!" Screamed the Halladi officers. The mass of ten thousand men converged on the city in a huge red and olive mob. The tanks soon followed.

The first Severskian units to enter the city are the 1st and 2nd Birgade of the 8th Airborne Division, and the 1st Birgade of the 2nd Mech Division supported by the 3rd Battalion of the 1st/1st Armored Division. These forces have driven a 3 mile deep wedge into Lenningrad, along Highway 3. These forces have established their parimeter for the night, and are prepared to recieve attack, altho most soldiers doubt there will be any.
So far only 19 rebels have been incountered. 2 were captured, while the other 17 were killed. Oddly, no civilians have been encountered.
The force will push deeper into the city in the morning, when it is reenforced by the rest of the 8th Division, the 9th Division, the 2nd and 4th Mech Divisions, and the 1st Armored.

Agent Lisonov crept past the artillery gun and picked up one of the dead rebel's Ak-47. "There is the town hall, what is going on in there." He snuck up to the wall and peeked through one of the firing ports, "..." he walked back over to the dead rebels and picked up their radio. "If anyone hears this, this is Agent Lisonov of the HIIA, the rebels have hostages. Women and children!"
The Home Guard forces arrived at the walls of Leningrad. They would began the attack into the city with the allied forces in the morning.
The Rebels sprung their trap. T-72s and a few T-80s issued out of the many garages in the city and smashed headlong into the approaching enemies. Supported by technicals (cars and trucks with machine guns mounted on them) and rebel infantrymen. They began a furious bombardment with their makeshift artillery guns. This was their last ditch attack. If this failed, it was on to plan B.
At the delta of the Birov River two days after authorization:

The rangers ran out of the helicopters as they took turns touching down in a park. Not a sound. They split up into four groups of 20 men. One would stay behind, seizing nearby buildings and establishing a sniper nest in the upper levels of one of them. The other three would take seperate paths deeper into rebel held territory.
Hallad, your men seem to be a little crazy. :)
Message to Phyrric
"We are attempting to surround the city. We have spotted rebel reinforcements moving down out of the mountains to the north of the city. We are going to began our attack soon, and friendly spec ops are in the city."
Captain Tartarin had taken command of the Home Guard troops near the city. "These rebels want to take this nation back to before the revolution, most of you don't remember it but I do. It was a horrible time, the government abducted people during the night, you had to become a slave to the internation corporations, we cannot let that happen again. Follow me!"
Tartarin hoisted the red Hattian flag (It's traditional for commanders to do this, and to lead from the front.) "Give them hell, CHARGE!"
Inside Leningrad
"Commander, we have reports of enemy special forces in the city, and the government forces are on the attack." The Commander nodded, "We must hold the city until our reinforcements get here, and Plan B goes through, withdraw everything into the city, and radio a message to the enemy telling them about the hostages."
Lisonov backed away from the wall and moved down the street towards an alley. "Hey, over here!" Lisonov looked up and saw 2 men in a window dressed in Hattian Army uniforms, he ran over to the door and went into the building. "What the hell are you guys doing here?" The men looked at each other, "We managed to hide in here when the attack came. I see you have a radio, perhaps you can radio for help?" Lisonov nodded and put the radio to his ear, "Anyone here, this is Agent Lisonov, me and 2 other men are trapped in the city, requesting evac!"
200 Spec Ops members have were dispatched. (just so ya know)
"Agent Lisonov, this is Major Derrek Kisilev of the Halladi Special Forces. What is your postion so that we might break you out?"
Yeah I know
"We are in a grocery store near the City Hall, they have a lot of civilians in there, I am guessing as hostages. They are also moving tanks around out here."

The first rebel attack came around 01:00 hours that night. They struck the southern edge of the Severskian salent. The outer parimiter was over run within minutes. The over run forces were either killed or survived in pockets. The rebel attack reached its high water mark around the center of the Severskian salent, as there forces pulled from the north and pushed up from the south concentrated a line and held. We have begun to push them back to the south, but this may take a prolonged period of time. Reenforcements were flown in by helicopter durring the fighting from Marine units in the west and from newly arrived 7th AirCav Division troops. CASVAC was flown constantly durring the battle and continueing to do so now.
Casulties on both sides are believed to be horrific. The 1st/2nd Mech lost all of its CV 90 IFVs, while the 1st Armored's detachement lost 2 Tiger MBT.Mk.1's destroyed, 1 disabled, and 2 captured so far. Little armor was employed by the rebels, but what was deployed by said was destroyed by our Tiger MBTs. Over 800 Severskian troops are casulties so far.
Airsupport has been provided by ANG Skyraiders opperateing off of Highway 3, as well as Harriers and Aircraft off the carriers.
<OOC: that good?>
Yeah that's good.
The Rebels began to pull back into the city. Once they got sufficiently away, they began to lay mines quickly to slow down the approaching Pro-Government forces. They had lost a good deal of armor to the enemy tanks and close air support, about 35 T-55s and 17 T-72s, and somewhere around 690 men.

Fighter jets screamed from above, circling the battlefield. They were not attacking anything. Suddenly several loud megaphones were activated. All over the battlefield the following message was broadcast.
"This is Christopher Anderson, Benevolent Dictator of Gurian. This message is meant for both rebels and the government. Both of you want to improve this country and make it better. To the rebels, you should not have attacked and started this bloodshed. To the government, you should not have been so quick to attack. There may be a peaceful solution which could help everyone. So I ask you to CEASE FIRE! If you do not trust the other side, then I grant you this assurance. If one side ceases fire and the other does not, then Gurian shall pledge its support to the side which has been courageous enough to cease fire. Please, keep this message in mind."

Upon receiving word of the Hattian government's rejection of the cease-fire, and the simultaneous rebel acceptance of the offer, the Elder of Gerentology called a meeting of his General Staff:
"Gentlemen, Hattia has refused the ceasefire request, and announced that it will attack any nation attempting to enforce a ceasefire between it and the rebels. However, our national pride is at stake. We have made a committment to bring peace to this area, and cannot back down with our reputation intact. Therefore, I authorize military action against the nation of Hattia. I believe you have a plan drawn up for this, General?"
"Yes, Mr. Elder," replied General Connery. "Fortunately, the troops were already heading for that area, so we should have them in theater within five days. The 'Hattian People's Congress' will never know what hit them."
"I hope you're right," said the Elder. "Send the order to the troops: commence Operation Downfall."
Three nights later, the first troops began coming ashore to the north and south of Haton, moving from the Birov and Scazly rivers to seize Highways 4 and 1, respectively. The Highway 1 bridge was shelled and destroyed before the northern wing of the assault began its march. The true key to the operation, however, came from the third wing: the elite 'Geritopolis' and 'Damascus' divisions, trained in urban combat. Even as Highway 1 was being cut, these two divisions began landing in Haton itself. Their objective was to decapitate the Hattian government, and they began that mission within minutes of coming ashore.

Even if my escorts were defeated, they would have been able to hold off your navy long enough for me to land my troops. The 1st/2nd Mech Division (dismounted) is faring no better. They have lost all of their CV 90 APCs. The APC crews had been recalled, but the infantrymen were stuck slugging it out.
They have occupied roughly the western quarter, and Marines are moving up Highway 3 to replace them.
=======================
As the first members of the 7th Cav landed in LZ Albany, they did so under intense fire. All 4 LZs were declared hot within 15 minutes of the first troops landing. Only 8 batalions managed to get on the ground before all of the LZs were closed. All available fire and air support has be allotted to these LZs to try to keep them from being over run. The situation is dire, however. It is being debated by theater commanders if reinforcing the LZs is possible.

It is wished by the CSAF to have access to an airfield on Marx Island and permission to turn B-52's loose on Rebel positions. It is also requested that we are allowed to bring lighter air elements in theater, namely F-18s, F-15Es, AC-130s, F-111s, Victors, A-10s, A-6s, Hawks, A-1s, A-26s, and A-5s. These will greatly add to are ability to support our own forces in the field, as well as strike rebel positions in a joint air campain against them.
If no airfield exists, we would be more then happy to construct one.[/code:1:d25f3b8b2b]

You may land at Revolution International Airport on Marx Island. You may only use the B-52s on unpopulated areas. You may bring your own air elements in.
We are moving forces up from the south. Weather and ambushes are slowing them down significantly, ETA: 3 Days. You may recruit militiamen from nearby towns if need be, they have their own weapons (Mostly AK-47s and SKSs.

By the time the Chochezken missile launcher was delivered to the squad of rangers, there were only six chochezkens left.
"I gotcha you dirty Bast*rd" the young soldier said as he pulled the RPG trigger, sending the rocket crashing through the tank's armor.
"Nice, okay you guys, let's pull up to that building there and set up a firing position". Dmitri said as he leapt over the sandbag wall. He fired his rifle as his SAW man cleared a path.
My internet is messed up right now and I'll only be able to post at school. Damn you Earthlink!
Suslov followed Dimitri over the sandbags. He looked over his shoulder, "TECHNICAL!" He took aim with his rifle at the already bullet riddled truck. "Closer..." He cocked the grenade launcher attached to the rifle and fired. The grenade went through the windshield and exploded, throwing body parts and metal fragments into the air. He tapped his machine gunner on the back and made a few motions with his hands. The man nodded and pulled out the bipod on his machine gun and handed it to Suslov. He then rested the bipod on the man's shoulders, "Okay, let's go!"

Need any assistance, Hattia? I've got some new tricks up my sleeve.
Maybe later, I am still thinking up some tricks for the rebels...

OOC: sorry to interupt, but Hattia... how did u manage that HUGE naval intervention a while when your busy amidst this? this thread was around before i began that attempt of imperial expansion
It wasn't huge. Just 1 or 2 fleets. And that was a while before this, and I don't exactly need fleets to fight rebels hundreds of miles inland.
Leningrad
The so called 'President' of Hattia stood in the town hall, listening to reports from the battles within the city. "Damn, we cannot hold. Order a full attack towards the mountains with the remaining tanks, we must break out! And kill the hostages"
Behind the walls of the town hall, machine gun fire and screams were heard for about 30 seconds. Then rebel infantry and light vehicles began streaming out and making their way to the northern gate...
If anyone still wants to be involved, I am going to make this into more of a guerrilla war...

West of Leningrad
The MoW decided to launch an all out effort to relieve the LZs to the north of the city. This effort will consist of a push northwest from Highway 3 by the 3rd Armored, 4th Mech, and 5th Mech; while the 7th Air Mobile and 9th Airborne divisions are moved element by element into the LZs by helicopter.
Leningrad:
The 8th Airborne and 2nd Mech have finally been relieved by the 3rd and 4th Marine Divisions. About 40% of the 8th Airborne was killed/wounded/missing.
The 4th and 5th Marines have pushed within 1 mile of city hall, and may secure it within 24 hours.
Marx Island:
Revolution International Airport:
The first CSAF aircraft have begun to arrive in the form of: 8 B-52D-500s, 2 EB Victors, 40 A-10s, 12 A319Ks, 4 A340Ks, 20 F-111s, 8 AC-130s, 40 F/A-18s, 20 Harrier's, 40 A-1 Skyraiders, and 20 Invaiders. These aircraft were either flown in under their own power or were airlifted in by Belfasts. Additional aircraft will be joining these shortly. All availible Severskian aircraft are commited to supporting the push north, leaveing the units in Leningrad almost compleatly unsupported.
A further report shall be made shortly.

Leningrad:
It has been discovered by members of the 1st Battalion of the 4th Marine Division that a large number of Hattian civilians have been massacred by rebels in the town hall. Two survivors have been found, and are currently being treated in a CSMC M*M*S*H unit near city hall.
The 3rd and 4th Marine divisions expanded their holding of the city to occupy the western half of the city. These gains came at a small price, as most of the rebels have fled the city apparently. Marine units will not pursue them out from the city.
North of Leningrad:
Operation Outreach
The drive northwest by the 3rd Armored Division and 4th and 5th Mech Divisions has gone quickly and with out major losses. LZ X-ray and Columbus, the two most southern, were retaken within a day of the start of the operation. Losses sustained by the Air Cavalrymen in the LZs were on the high side, but did not break 15%. LZ Falcon was releaved the following day, having taken 25% casualties.
LZ Albany, the farthest north and the smallest, had been over run several times during the battle for it. It was relieved 4 days after the beginning of Operation Outreach began, and 6 days after the first Air Cavalrymen landed there. The 2nd Battalion of the 3rd Armored, the first to reached the embattled survivors, found a hellish scene. The few cavalrymen still fighting greeted them with a cheer. It was a quiet one, as there were less then 250 men left of the 1500 landed in the LZ.
Operation Outreach has reached its farthest objective, and will now retreat towards the city. From there the 3rd Armored, 4th Mech, 5th Mech, and the survivors of the 7th Air Cav and 9th Airborne will depart for the Commonwealth.
Brixton, Seversky:
It was decided today by a nearly unanimous vote to withdraw Severskian ground troops from combat in Hattia, as most of the major land warfare has ended, and because of the huge numbers of casualties suffered by the First Expeditionary Army fighting therein. The first troops to be withdrawn will be the Expoditionary Army (1st Armored, 2nd Mech, 3rd Armored, 4th-6th Mech, 7th Air Cav, 8th-9th Airborne), followed by the Marine troops in Leningrad.
While it has been decided to remove Severskian ground forces, the Navy and Air force shall maintain a presence. The CSAF has elected to maintain an Invader wing, a Thunderbolt wing, and 2 Hornet wings to assist Hattian forces on the ground against the rebels. These will be supplemented by a Razorback wing as soon as they come into service.
The Navy will maintain the following carrier battle groups in theater, to offer assistance if necessary: CNS Barroom Hero, CNS St. Lô, CNS Gambier Bay, CNS Deliverance and CNS Crusade.
