Senator Speewack stood up in the well of the "Upper House" of the Murphdawggian Parliment. In his left hand, he held a sheaf of papers. "Mr. Speaker, permission to address the House," he asked.
The elderly Senate President looked at Speewack through thick half glasses. "Permission granted. Just try to wrap it up before Noon, Senator. I have a golfing engagement with the Overlord"

"Oh, I shall, Mr Speaker, I shall.' The Senator cleared his throat and began.
"With the recent discovery of uraniun in our rain forests, the nation's arm's manufacturing industry has excelled to a point that it is now our nation's number one industry. Now, even though our nation is heading toward a small war, I see no reason why we shouldn't begin to sell these weapons to nations willing to buy them." Speewack flipped through the papers in his hand. "I have Defense Department numbers that show us as having several nuclear weapons thanks to our uranium deposits.. Now, wer can't possibly use all of those nukes. We don't REALLY need more than one....."

Speewack could not finish. Upper House members from the other side of the aisle rose their voices in protest. Within seconds, the House had descended into an anarchy of shouting. One Senator was heard to shout "We'll be cruicified in the international community!"

The Speaker called for a vote to adjourn for the day so that senators could "clear their heads."
