The Voyage class Space Probe Explorer once again exited Sub-Space, something that it knew one of its devices could do, called a Sub-Space Drive, small enough to fit in it. Yet, as the Explorer exited, a meteor shower flew past and damaged it severly. It had a sense of Self-Preservation, and immedietly sent an SOS to anything that could assist it.

Mysterious as it was, it knew it was heading for disaster if no one came to its aid. It was near Earth High Orbit, yet couldn't control itself to retain that orbit. Thus, if no one could help, it would be destroyed by the atmosphere of the Earth.

It detected the Buran shuttle docked to the Skylab Delta space station, yet knew from recent reports from its Aerospace Command that they couldn't help.....

It began to feel...to feel emotion suddenly. Its AI CPU wasn't specificly designed for such actions, yet somehow a Network was patching itself from the extreme....fear.....that was the emotion. Explorer began to be afraid...very afraid....

Explorer began to try to stabilize itself, but couldn't. Its gyro jets were gone, most of them, and its support software had been damaged, most of its electronic components were damaged, and it KNEW that the Aerospace Command didn't know of its distress...hence....it was left to fear, to await its death.....perhaps someone would come.....perhaps not.....
