Magic discovered?

09-02-2004, 03:33
Deep within the mines of Monoko, several rocks were found, eveyr color of the rainbow, after deep research, they may be the key to the lost art of "magic", this could create "arcane magic", or "black magic" magic of the elements used for attack
Meanwhile, the church worked on "magic" of their own, a "divine magic", or "white magic" that could heal others, I, the president liked it so much that I myself decided to take up this divine magic.
"Magic" could redefine war once again, and as president, I would like to ally with nations to share this wonderful gift, who will join me?

Dar-Kavryn has had magic since the beginning of our recorded history.... What would the terms of this alliance be?

To Rebeland:
We can understand your opinion. However, due to the high viridium content of Dar-Kavryn's soil, such weapons do not operate within our borders. We have been forced to study magic extensively over the course of our sometimes violent history, since expanding our technology beyond the level of the crossbow was (and is) impossible.

To Large Chickens:
Doubtless you know more about such substances than we do....

the terms of acceptence are as follows:
When accepting this treaty, you will recieve 100 of each kind of "Mana stone" a month, at this time we must limit the sending of these rare finds. In addition, Clerics will be sent to send Divine Magic over there as well. If you wish you may take both, or just one, also, if we are displeased with your use, which can consist of(but are not limited to):
Using to destory property without probable cause
Using to kill people without probable cause
Using in ways other then self defense
We are a peaceful nation, and do not wish to use our gift as a weapon of destruction, but rather as a weapon of pvtlW.

Dyelli Beybi practices a magic called 'science'. It is a strange and obscure concept that most people are incapable of understanding.

But do you want to be put to the test by a genuine scientist?

Er, I know this is meant to be freeform roleplay, but i always play it as current or near future technology, and i dont usually play magic, using it is a bit unfair on those nations who only use standard current military weaponry.

OOC: I figure as long as there's balance, it's fine. I use magic, but my army has few weapons more advanced than a crossbow... and, in fact, few enough of those. However, anyone who doesn't want to accept magic doesn't have to. As long as the rules in a particular RP are clear, that's the important thing.

OOC: Nah, that would mess up the "balance" effect. Besides, part of my setting is that modern technology doesn't work in my country due to its high viridium content. How would I train my soldiers to use them?
Kormanthor

Train them some where else I guess.

If someone's going to ignore magic, they wouldn't be advised to get into a war with me; it won't work very well. My entire setting is deeply involved in magic, so I am going to use it when I need to. I don't involve myself in the affairs of those who ignore magic (except in comments), and they would probably give up on invading me when I refuse to go by their rules in my country.
Of course, even without magic I'm not completely helpless. An arrow can still kill someone, though bullets are more efficient.

Hey does anyone know how to calculate the energy yield per gram of an anti-matter/matter collision? We want to know how many kamikaze-anti-matter-biplanes we can field.
