The Kingdom of Benderland suffered a devastating terrorist bombing today at a military weapons manufacturing plant outside of Naridune. The attack occurred at 11:46 AM in a facility responsible for producing weapons that are mounted on Benderland's battlemechs. The initial blast destroyed a massive assembly machine. A fire then began to consume the building, eventually reaching ammunition stockpiles. Subsequent blasts from the ammunition killed over two dozen employees, with an unknown number of injured. Luckily, the rest of the facility was quickly evacuated.

Five emergency response members were killed while attempting to subdue the blaze. After attempting to put out the raging inferno with no clear success, the response teams were ordered to abandon the efforts. The facility was a complete loss. When asked about the withdrawal, the emergency response team commander had this to say:

"About an hour into extinguishing the flames, another ammo stockpile went off, killing part of the team. After the blast, it was clear that there was no safe way of extinguishing the blaze. There was an automatic extinguishing system installed in the facility, but for some reason it never turned on."

The initial investigation turned up no clear evidence. Authorities suspect that the fire extinguishing system inside the facility was sabotaged. King Bender v2.0 released this statement:

"The Kingdom has suffered a terrible loss today. We cannot say how this event has happened, but we can speculate that the reason for this attack was due to recent legislation that ordered a substantial increase in military production."

Security around the nation has been heightened, and there are still no leads in the case. General Ratchet will be fielding all questions.

Further investigation concludes that the automatic fire extinguishing system within the arms factory was sabotaged, preventing it from activating when the facility was ablaze. Surviving workers are being questioned, and some have been detained for military interrogation. However, there are still no leads in the case.

The Auslandreich Empire is wondering if your intelligence organisations have any leads on who is responsible as of yet?

Again, there are no leads in the terrorist attack. We do not even know if the attack came from a group from another country, or possibly a terrorist cell within the nation of Benderland.

From: The Elvan High Consulate

Elvandair Military Intelligence has, on more than one occasion, intercepted a known terrorist organization that goes by the name of “The Order of Resjiel.” They have been sighted as being extremists adamantly against the creation of weapons they deem as being “politically superfluous:” the weapons destroyed being among them.

We’ve been monitoring their actions and will proceed to prosecute those responsible or those having connections to those responsible of this tragic incident.

The Robotic Kingdom of Benderland appreciates Elvandair's help in the investigation. Unfortunately, the plot is much more sinister than the proclaimed cause of "The Order of Resjiel". After further interrogating our top suspects, one of them confessed that they obtained the materials necessary to carry out the attack from the Resjiel. He then revealed that the attack was not carried out in the name of the Resjiel, but rather for the cause of what has become to be known as the Robotic Socialist Extremists.

It goes much further than that, but we cannot reveal to what extent at this time. What we can say is that if what has been said about the Robotic Socialist Extremists is true, we may have to face a much bigger problem than a destroyed arms manufacturing facility. As of now, both of the aforementioned terrorist groups have been dubbed equally responsible, and further efforts in the capture and prosecution of "The Order of Resjiel" members would be much appreciated.
