Today, several unmarked vessels were destroyed as UCSNE Naval Forces clashed with rouge ecoterrorists in a battle that destroyed 12 motocraft equipped with small arms. As the 12 craft entered a restricted military zone around an oil platform. The boat passengers chanted slogans against the UCSNE Oceanic Territories, calling for "And end to the UCSNE Military Occupation of International Waters".
After repeated warnings, the boats cruised on and opened fire on approaching police boats. Two S/A-15 Hurricane subfighters were called in, and all 12 craft were destroyed by HE supercavitating cannon fire. No survivors were found.
The Ecoterrorists, calling themselves the "Movement for Free Waters", released a statement asking foreign powers to intervene, and use Naval power to blockade the Oceanic territories until they were made international territory. They also requested that other nations send peacekeepers to control the situation on the large artificial islands that float over the underwater colonies and mines.

The MFFW released another statement today-
"The UCSNE imperialism and capitalist greed in the international waters 50 miles from their coast must end. We have elected that if UCSNE Military and Government presence does not remove itself or open the Oceanic Territories to international operations within 48 Hours, starting midnight tonight, we will commence offensive actions. Again we call for other nations to help us liberate these waters from capitalist greed."

At the opening of the trading day, stocks in Oceanic based companies plummeted as the UCSNE and MFFW stayed solid in their stances. Prices of Poseidon Crude Oil shot to 50 a barrel as shipping industries worried of threats by the MFFW to blockade the area and raid tankers. UCSNE officials have urged that waters are safe, and if asked will provide escort.

Kesaru sat up, pushing his Tablet PC out of the way. His eyes were tired, the think tank was up all night, with Kesaru conveying the busy Presidents opinions.
"Yes, Mr. Vice President. The JCS and I believe there is no other option."
The Admiral was quite restrained, Kesaru thought, since his first words when he heard the crisis were "Stupid fuckup hippie shitholes. Kill 'em all."
"Are you sure there is no less, ah, restrained approach to the situation?"
"No, there isn't any that will work. We need to show the citizens of the Oceanics that we will not abandon them."
Kesaru stood, looking over the room.
"Alright then. Order the CVSN-91 and it's battlegroup to surface."
