THE ATHENA
http://server5.uploadit.org/files/saturn656-LRSSmall.JPG
It has been comfirmed, from the border world outposts, that the Athena's LOV (Loss of Vessel) signal has been recieved by High Guard technicians.
The ship was reported missing when its courier craft missed a pre-detirmined data drop with the fleet flagship, the Glorious Heritage class Heavy Crusier, Long Ascention. Later today the Ascention recieved the LOV signal through irregular tremors in Slipstream.
Although it is believed that the signal contained crucial tactical data, the signal was too degraded for anything useful besides the LOV to be properly decoded.
The Athena was an Eternal Vigilance Class scout vessel with roughly 150 souls onboard plus one Artifical Intelligence, all presumed MIA. The families of the crew have been notified and a list of crew will be made public at the first possible opportunity.
When asked about the possibility of survivors and which sector any survivors might be in, Argosy representative Vice Admiral Pearcy Bishop, did not give a clear response, although this reporter believes he overheard a coversion concerning such a search between Vice Admiral Bishop and an Argosy officer who we have yet to identify.
In addition, several anonymous tips have lead us to believe that the ship was beyond Commonwealth borders and possibly beyond known space.
All we have at this point is one word, Deneb, whether it is the name of a sector, star, race, ship, or person, we have no idea as of yet, but we will keep you apprised of any new developments in the Athena situation.
