New Empire

Today, the New Empire Oceanic Territories, or NEOTs, have had their request for City-Statehood granted. The new Oceanic States, Natilus, Poseidon, Coral, and Sithe occupy an area around the size of California about 75 miles off New Empirian coasts. The choice was made primarily because of a large oil deposit and mineral rich area that was close by to the Poseidon Artificial Island Chain (This is part of Poseidon). The use of ceramic hulled vessels contributed to the construction of these large mining and manufacturing complexes under the sea.

The Oceanic States are also landing points for the Lifters that frequently travel to the Industrial Stations where materials are refined for manufacturing. The benefits of Statehood will not kick in for a month, but the territories are legally states. As for the claiming of international waters, the Administration announced that nobody else has it, and if anybody has a problem with it, they can deal with the CVSN-91 Submersible Carrier and it's Battlegroup stationed somewhere in the area.
