Political Termoil Causes Instability In Largent: Open RP

07-02-2004, 02:35
OOC:This is not Largent. I am a person from his region. Largent and I decided to start an rp based on what is said below. This is open.

IC:
As the leaders of a southern republican party met they disscussed their situation. They decided that Largent's culture was becoming poisonned and they were being robbed of their regional resources by the government. They decided that it would be best to scecede from Largent. They soon came to the point that their position was to close to the base of the Largent Homeland Defense sector of Largent. Blood would almost definitely be shed. They decided that since Largent is already aiding Tal-Kelirion in the rebellion near them their fight would be easier.

5 hours later a vote was passed by the republicans of the south to secede. This vote was some how managed to stay secret and this bought the new confederacy a lot of time. Knowing what the democrats would do if they found the republicans, the majority in the south, were secedeing the rebublicans decided to ban the democrats immediatley. This would be risky but they had to hit them off guard. The 55 democrats that posed any threat were detained by armored vehicles and driven over the new boarder. The mountain range at the boarder would provide a defense for now but the new nation would have to move fast to develope a substantial army. They already had men and tanks but they needed much, much more.

At the new boarder:
The armored trucks pulled up with the democrats in them. Armed men removed them. Several resisted and were shot. These men knew they had committed crimes but their orders were to kill the democrats and burn their bodies. After their deed was done they relised that one man was missing. This man was Bernard Autoasser, the senator for the former territory. Assuming he was by now far north into Largent they decided it was bes to head back south.
Largent
07-02-2004, 16:47
As the president sat in his office he was informed that Autoasser was found nearly dead several miles south of the capital. The president rushed to him. All Autoasser was able to utter was the fact that the south had seceded and that the democrats were dead. Not knowing what he meant by the democrats were dead, president Johnston seant out a search team. They returned a day later with the charred remains.

Press Conference:
"Today, fellow Largentians, an autrocity was committed by the south. The south recently seceded killing 54 democrats in the process. I will not stand for this. As of now war is declared apon the south. May they rot in hell."

Transport ships slowly glided onto the coast line of South Largent. A total of 100,000 marines and 5,000 tanks emptied out as more came. Undisclosed decided to pledge full aleagence to the rebellion after being conquered by Largent many years ago.

"Sir; we have a possible situation brewing in the nation of Largent"
"What's happening, General?"
"Reports are a bit sketchy, but it looks like conservative elements in the South of Largent are attempting to secede from the nation."
"It's not really our business unless the Largent government asks us to get involved.... on the other hand, the last thing we want is another conservative nation to cause us trouble. Send an offer of assistance to the Largent government."

Memo sent to the Largent government from the Edolian Foreign Ministry
"Edolia is willing to send support to the nation of Largent in quelling the uprising in the South of your country. If military support is necessary, please give us a briefing of your situation. The Edolian Legions will be there to support you."\

<<OOC: Don't you think a million soldiers for one division is a bit much? Most divisions have about 10,000...>>

Military Announcement from the Edolian High Command
"In an effort to secure national solidarity and progressive values, throughout the world, the Edolian Government has announced the deployment of the following battle legions:

III General Infantry Legion
40,000 Regular Infantry
10,000 Elite Imperial Guard Infantry
600 P-15 Pillbug Armored Personnel Carriers
700 J2/A Jackalope All-Terrain Vehicles
400 J2/B Jackalope Combat All-Terrain Vehicles
350 MD-3 Manticore Main Battle Tanks
380 B-1 Imperium Remote Main Battle Tanks

XIII "Rabid Gerbil" Elite Legion
24,000 Elite “Rabid Gerbil” Combat Specialists

XIV Mobile Strike Legions
15,000 Mechanized Regular Infantry
360 P-15 Pillbug Armored Personnel Carriers
640 J2/A Jackalope All-Terrain Vehicles
500 J2/B Jackalope Combat All-Terrain Vehicles
120 MD-3 Manticore Main Battle Tanks
120 B-1 Imperium Remote Main Battle Tanks

XXIII Urban Legion
25,000 Urban Combat Specialists
800 P-15 Pillbug Armored Personnel Carriers
340 MD-3 Manticore Main Battle Tanks

This initial deployment of elite Edolian forces will be used to assist North Largent forces in the suppression of Southern forces. The XIII "Rabid Gerbil" Legion -some of the world's most elite forces- will act as a hunter-killer force for targetted assassinations and guerilla strikes against enemy targets. As of yet, air support shall not be sent. However, if necessary, the Scarlet Force will be deployed to strike at rebel forces.

We suggest that other nations not get involved on the side of these illegitimate rebels. They shall be crushed, along with any nation that sides with them."

well I combined that division with a lot of marines because of the situation. Normally it would only have 15,000-25,000.

OOC: The first bit is on behalf of the tooker who couldn't get onto the forums:

500,000 men and 5 carriers arrived along with other warships.

(My post)
"Now that it is obvious Elodia is aiding Largent we must turn the new military camps into hostage areas. There is no way they will attack if we have hostage children."
"Yes sir"

As many troops came to the aid of the south the armies were ready for the first assault. It would consist of just over 1,000,000 troops and 10,000 tanks. Aircraft was plentiful as well. Resistance would soon prove futile for Largent. 9 missle ships were already headed towards the Largent/Elodia home base along with 5 Iowa's and 6 nuclear deterent subs.

Watching from afar as another nation became embroiled in a deadly match against itself the Republic only watched from a distance. But reports flowed from the War College (My intelligence) of political murders and an increasignly volatile situation. Order was quickly being lost, and some elements within the Senate felt the Republic should intervene militarily, they had been allies with Largent in the WWIX War Games (At least, I think that was you), and it provided at least a face value reason for intervention.

On the 3rd the War College presented it's official summurization of the situation to the Senate, and indicating heavy naval deployments being undertaken by some nations, a move that could threaten the nearby Sevilla-Republic trade routes that were already defended thinly with merchant raiding being undertaken by pirates/Macabean Navy. Anxious to aid in the stabilization of the area, the Senate authorized the military to prepare a force to aid the Government of Largent against the insurrection in the South.

On the 11th a message was sent via the Diplomatic Corps to the government of Largent offering immediate Federal aid to blockade the rebellion, and ground forces to restore order.

08-02-2004, 01:11
In an effort to wipe out enemy sea power around Largent, a large submarine raider flotilla is being deployed, supported by a number of arsenal ships, missile boats and destroyers. The expeditionary fleet is as follows:

12 Blatterschplitt class Arsenal Ships
24 Gerburg class Arsenal Ships
22 Pythonia-SSD
22 Pythonia-SAD
22 Pythonia-ASD
22 Pythonia-SBD
40 Landia Long-Range Missile/Patrol Boats
48 Lavernia Nuclear Attack Submarines
38 Nanaki Nuclear Missile Submarines

In the meantime, the extremely well-trained Edolian forces are being moved into defensive positions. Until further deployments are made, we cannot begin a full offensive. Edolia maintains a very small army relative to its size (about a million soldiers out of nearly 1.7 billion people) but trains and equips these soldiers so well that they are generally able to defeat armies much larger than them with relatively few casualties.

<<OOC: Basically Edolian troops make real-life American Army look like an untrained peasant militia. Thus the relatively small deployment.>>

1,100,000 men were given the order. They were put on all means of transport and sent north to Largent. A total of 15 ships were sent to. These consisted of 5 carriers, 4 Iowa's, 3 Arsonal ships, 3 nuclear deterent subs. As transport planes reached the city they were deployed. They recieved heavy fire but over 1 million shots were fired from their side too. They spared no mercy attacking anyone they saw. Hand grenades tore apart houses and equiptment. Off shore 15 B-52s flew in dropping their load on civilian and military targets. Finally tanks rolled up to give support to the rebels. Bombs left giant holes in the ground as artillery came too. The troops were given the order to regroup. Howitzers rained shells onto the city tearing buildins and people to shreds. Once enough fire was given the tanks rolled in to finish the job.

"Fire AA guns! Kill those bastards!"
"Incoming!" a shell tore into the side of a building next to them.
"Fire AT guns the tanks are coming!"
The did as they were instructing blowing apart tanks evey chance they got.
"Call in all troops! We need at least 2 million!"
"On the way sir!"
"Sir, 10,000 tanks are coming to our aid they will be here in 15 min. tops."
"Good."
As the battle raged on more and more troops flooded the city, slowly but surely repelling the invaders. When the tanks arrived the invaders were repellded to the city limits as howitzers launched countless shells onto the rebels. They were almost out of artillery.
"General, what about the ships?"
"Send out a fleet and blow 'em to hell!"
15 Garr class cruisers were sent. 500 cruise missles were fired at the ships. when the Garrs arrived they relized some of their targent were hit almost to hard. Some covered the area. Quicly they used RADAR to find the remaining ships. Antiship missles rained in on them as the cruisers pulled out. They then relized they hadn't seen the carrier.
"General, this is BLack Knight. Do you copy?"
"Yes admiral. What is it?"
"You have to send out a search team for the carriers. You should send F-22s."
"On their way."

20 F-22s cruised into the sky. They were followed by 5 Tu-120s for when they found the carriers. The billowing smoke provided great coverage for them. After some time they found them.
"Tu-120s do your stuff!"
All planes dropped their load onto the ships. All bombs were direct hits.
"Lets get out of here fast!"
The planes quickly spun around and flew back to the shore where they saw the city practically in ruins.

Erik von Blatterschplitt, Imperator of Edolia sat at his desk, reviewing the deployment orders. There was a knock at his door. "Come in."
"M'lord," Marshal Johannes von Clesiburg strode into his office. "M'lord, we've just received a message from the Largent government." He handed the Imperator a slip of paper.

"Dear friends,
Due to the severity and cruelty of these attacks we call apon all allies to aid us in destroying these bastards down to the last man. No mercy shall be shown to them. We ask you to send anything you can. These criminals must be defeated."

"Sounds to me, Marshal, like they're giving us free reign to fry these bastards."
"Yes sir. How would you like to go about it?"
"Well... we should have naval superiority pretty soon... our forces within Largent should be fine as well. We only have a small portion of our overall military strength in Largent."
"Yes sir. I concur. Ten carrier battle fleets should give us the support we need to launch a full invasion from the South and I would imagine that we shouldn't need more than a dozen legions, especially with heavy air support."
"Agreed. Assemble the taskforce."

----

Another taskforce, this composed entirely of carriers is to meet with the original fleet before engaging in battle with South Largent forces. It is made up of the following:

10 Imperium class Aircraft Carriers
(250 YT/A-2 Hellion fighter/interceptors
350 YT/A-3 Hellion fighter/bombers)

24 Himelburg class Aircraft Carriers
(144 YT/P-2 Hellion VTOL unmanned fighter/interceptors
144 YT/P-3 Hellion VTOL unmanned fighter/bombers)

14 Imperatrix class Missile Boat Carriers
(175 AXD-1 Surface-to-Surface Missile Boats
175 AXD-2 Surface-to-Air Missile Boats
175 AXD-3 Anti-Submarine Patrol Boats
175 AXD-4 Fleet Defense Missile Boats)

Behind this fleet, is a massive flotilla of transports, carrying the following:

I, II, IV and V General Infantry Legions (4 in total)
Each legion consists of:
40,000 Regular Infantry
10,000 Elite Imperial Guard Infantry
600 P-15 Pillbug Armored Personnel Carriers
700 J2/A Jackalope All-Terrain Vehicles
400 J2/B Jackalope Combat All-Terrain Vehicles
350 MD-3 Manticore Main Battle Tanks
380 B-1 Imperium Remote Main Battle Tanks

XV, XVI and XVII Mobile Strike Legions (3 in total)
Each legion consists of:
15,000 Mechanized Regular Infantry
360 P-15 Pillbug Armored Personnel Carriers
640 J2/A Jackalope All-Terrain Vehicles
500 J2/B Jackalope Combat All-Terrain Vehicles
120 MD-3 Manticore Main Battle Tanks
120 B-1 Imperium Remote Main Battle Tanks

XXII, XXIV and XXV Urban Legions (3 in total)
Each legion consists of:
25,000 Urban Combat Specialists
800 P-15 Pillbug Armored Personnel Carriers
340 MD-3 Manticore Main Battle Tanks

XXXII, XXXIII, and XXXIV Amphibious Assault Legions (3 in total)
Each legion consists of:
30,000 Marines
250 B-1/C Imperium Remote Amphibious Assault Tanks

Five Helicopter Air Wings are also being deployed, each consisting of:
256 GR-3 Remote, Unmanned Helicopter Gunships

Some 3,500 indirect-fire artillary and MLRS systems along with 2,600 EC-5 Mobile SAM Batteries.

In total, the number of forces in this transport flotilla are:
410,000 Infantry (regulars, imperial guard, marines, urban specialists)
5,410 Main Battle Tanks (MD-3 Manticores, B-1 Imperium Remotes)
A large number of ground transport vehicles of various sorts
1,280 GR-3 Remote, Unmanned Helicopter Gunships
3,500 indirect-fire systems
2,500 EC-5 Mobile SAM batteries

The ETA for all fleets is estimated at eight weeks (given the time it would take to ready the forces).

<<OOC: Remember, 410,000 Edolian forces are going to be extremely difficult to bring down and would probably be able to match up to a regular army of a few million. This is because instead of building the 10 million man army Edolia could easily afford, we built a force 1/10th that size and trained the soldiers from the age of six. If you want an essay on Edolian military training and culture, I could get it to you.>>

The transmission came into the command center shortly after dawn from Largent. The officer on duty looked it over, tagging it to be sent on up the chain. It reached the Defense desk a few minutes later. Dominus Mark was already in, and he reviewed again the options IP had for sending troops to help Largent. After a few minutes, Dominus phoned the command center, giving the green light for the airlift to Largent. The troops would arrive in 10 hours.

Troops sent:
101st Airborne Legion (12,000 troops with Firestar armor/AT weapons/light AA weapons/rifles/side pistols)

32nd Air Transport Wing (20 C-84 Atlas super transports)

8th Air Combat Wing (24 F-62 Dark Ravens, 24 F-56 Rapiers)

17th Air/Land Attack Wing (24 F/A-18E Super Hornets, 24 F/A-38 Mustang II's)

As the massive flotilla of Edolian ships sailed into the waters around Largent, destroyers, missile boats and submarines began moving into combat positions, building a defensive ring around the carriers, the strength of the fleet facing the South Largent and allied Navies. They were probably engaged already, dealing with the Largent government and most likely wouldn't be able to put up much of a resistance.

---

The rain fell thickly through the night. The only sound was the soft humming of motors. Lightning flashed overhead, illuminating the scene: hundreds upon hundreds of small boats glided through the night. Tanks, troops and other vehicles waited... The Edolian attack was on. Suddenly, a massive sound split the air, much louder than the thunder it drowned out. Shore bombardment cannons as well as hundreds of Edolian FOX-5 missiles, launched from the fleet's many arsenal ships were sending their cargoes of death into the sky. The flashes of light from the Edolian fleet were met in turn by corresponding flashes of flame, striking the coast of South Largent. The Scarlet fleet's massive bombardment continued on, the constant sounds of shells and missiles firing -the sounds of death- continued for five, hellish hours.

---

The sun dawned on a new day for the South Largent as the first of the transports hit the beach and thousands of soldiers charged forward. Helicopters launched from smaller transports rained fire down on any enemy defenders, while artillary and tank pieces not yet unloaded from the transports provided heavy support to the Edolian landing forces.

Over 90,000 troops were making this landing, supported by 750 tanks and 512 helicopter gunships. As troops dived for any cover along the sandy beach, fire-support ripped apart anything that moved in the area around the landing....

The Edolians had arrived!

----

Private message from the Imperätor Erik von Blätterschplitt, Lord of Edölia to the South Largent government:
"I must be honest with you, friends: we do not want to lose thousands of young Edolians, nor do we want to kill thousands of your young men and women. We do not want to, but we are willing to if that is what it takes to preserve progressive governments in this increasingly troubled and chaotic world. I ask you: give up your foolish rebellion. If an unconditional surrender is not made to either Edolian or North Largent forces within the next twenty-four hours, the people of South Largent shall see the power of the Scarlet Horde and I assure you; many will see nothing else thereafter. I envy not a people with leaders who would subject them to an Edolian invasion -it is not a pretty sight."

---

On the other side of the conflict, the XIIIth Rabid Gerbil Legion, 24,000 of some of the world's most elite troops, were on the move. All along the countryside, dark figures moved through the trees. Fast and deadly, these forces could take on armies many times their size and destroy them -or disappear into the countryside, leaving not a trace. The Rabid Gerbils -the pride of Edolia- carried their insignia -a large gerbil, baring its bloody fangs and claws before the Edolian Hammer and Sickle- with pride and a knowledge that they had never, and probably never would, face their equals in combat. They did not expect to find them here.

The mission of this force was simple: destroy. With a variety of light weaponry, they were in the position to wreak havok on anything that stood in their way, from tanks and helicopters, to planes flying above them. A medium-sized town, population 150,000, lay some fifteen miles to South of their current position and it was in that direction that the Legion marched. They, conditions permit, would arrive there the next day...

---

[i]<<OOC: So, just to sum it all up, we've got three Amphibious Assault Legions coming from the South, supported by a massive, 10-carrier flottilla. We've also got 24,000 incredibly elite troops marching from the North towards an as-of-yet unnamed town of 150,000 people (perhaps its lack of a name can be remedied?). If you could give a description of the basic defenses and layout of the city (is it made up of houses with outlying farms, does it have a large downtown, etc) and what sort of opposition Edolia's suprise landing force might encounter? (Remember that the South Largent military wouldn't have known where the Edolians would be landing so couldn't have prepared a full defense). If you have any questions regarding my equipment, troops, tactics, etc, feel free to ask.>>

Your wish will be granted. Also, Island States, I don't mean to sound ungrateful but when did you help me before? Was it with that semi-war thing when I got nuked? Either way...

As 30 B-1bs, escorted by 30 F-22s, neared the boarder they flew to maximum altitude and prepared to drop their load.

1-10 this is where you get off. the learder of the raid said. As he said this the first 10 bombers dropped their load onto military targets only.
F-22s, see how we did. the escorts dipped just a little so that they could see their targets.looks like we got the important ones they confirmed. This continued twice more until they had finished. Almost all targets were hit. As they flew back 5,000 tanks, 2,000 howitzers, 100,000 marines, and other varius artillery and divisions began their attack.

As the marines reached the boarder they sent in the tanks first. They, along with the howitsers were able to break into the first city. As marines stormed the city the tanks weren't far behind as they hit any enemy t hey could. The howitzers hit all buildings that may have been housing snipers. Once they felt the city secure enough they called in for more troops.

Their targets for the raid were some supply depots and ground movements, anything that moved that carried a military value. 16 of the Super Hornets were devoted to SAM's, moving targets, and carried a variety of 500 to 2000 lb. bombs and missiles. The other 8 were devoted to air cover, in case some unlucky South Largent flyboys wanted to play chicken against them.

Approaching the border, their SAM indicators started to blink, then soon stayed steady as more SAM radars became visible to the Hornets foward and down-looking radars. Switching the few buttons in the cockpits, Flight Alpha's 4 through 8 started targeting the SAM's with their Hellfire missiles. Their compatriots kept watch on their air-to-air radars, not deteching any income fighters. Seeing the coast was clean, Alpha 4 through 8 dove toward the border, dropping in altitude in order to gain speed and close to within launching distance. The km's ticked off on the HUD's. Radar's beeped. In Alpha 5, the tone came on, indicating a lock on target. "Fox-two, fox-two, missiles away." Right at that very moment, the SAM's radar locked on as well, firing several missiles at the incoming Hornets, which had been able to fire 5 missiles at the SAM site before turning to deploy countermeasures and manuvers. The Hornets dove and turned, almost as if a ballet was in the air. But the dance soon turned deadly, as Alpha 6 was hit by two missiles, slicing the fuselage completely in half before exploading, killing the pilot. Two seconds later, Alpha 5 was hit as well by one missile, knocking out one of its engines and damaging one of the elevators while the jet was turning towards a mountain. Ejecting, the pilot watched as his jet slammed into the cliff and created a huge fireball. The other pilots could only watch as the 'chute landed in enemy territory. They radioed in the location to allied forces for a pickup, but that was the most they could do.

Moving on, they targeted several other SAM sites, lossing only one other jet and pilot. A couple of other jets had some damage, but were able to make it back to base. In a few hours, the results of their raid would be determined, and Flight Bravo would be sent out on another raiding mission.
