Greenpeace ships sunk in blockade

06-02-2004, 07:26
Earlier today, several Greenpeace ships blockaded the government's shipping harbor of Pyronea's Capital city, Cindercrag. The demonstrators were disrupting a uranium shipment headed for a country across the Sea of Flame.

The uranium came from a newly opened mine that required the destruction of over 500 acres of forest land. A blockade of the harbor was thought to be chosen because it where most of the uranium is shipped out to other countries.

After several hours of peaceful protest, some of the Greenpeace members raided one of the cargo ships and proceeded to dump the uranium overboard. That is when two military vessels, watching over the situation, moved in and began to douse the Greenpeace ships in flames. (Any Greenpeace members that jumped from the flaming ships and into the water were shot) Several troops then boarded the cargo ship who's cargo was being dumped and killed the protestors onboard.

The Dictator of Pyronea released the following statement soon after the incident. "You can protest all you want, yell, shout, scream, jump up and down, I don't care. But as soon as you make any physical actions other than protesting, we will act. Had this not been a government ship carrying cargo owned by the government, such harsh actions would not have been taken."

Because the cargo was radioactive and taken from its containers, the vessel must be quarintined and cleaned of any radiation outside the storage area. Crew members will have to be tested for any radiation poisoning as well. As for the protestors, they wont have to worry about any radiation poisoning.

The Pyronean government apoligizes for the delay in uranium shipments to those countries importing it from the nation.

i'm sorry but they dumped the uranium overboard?

Well aparently they are stupid. Maybe they wore gloves? Maybe they went psycho and were so full of vigor to dump the cargo they forgot it was uranium. And yes... they would have thrown uranium into the sea! :P

OOC: Cmon, it's greenpeace. one of Frances only modern naval victories was against a greenpeace ship.

To protest the destruction of a rainforest, they dumped Uranium into the ocean? Removing these obviously none-to-intelligent terrorists from your population will undoubtedly strengthen the gene-pool of your people. Congratulations on their execution.

As I said before, it's greenpeace.

Oh, and from what I hear, they came from another nation in my region. I'm thinking Cardisia, it IS a UN member and all...

I'm thinking Cardisia, it IS a UN member and all...
And what's THAT supposed to mean? Just because my nation is a UN member that we "breed tree-huggers?"

I say they came from Zekk.
06-02-2004, 07:55
No, I'm saying that because...
1) UN does not like other nations making WoMD
2) Uranium is used in the development of WoMD

But hey, if you say so, they came from Zekk then. FBM, all that matters is that they are dead.

We have long since abolished Greenpeace. Radical hippies are not welcome in Crimson Sparta. And if they somehow made it through everything to a ship transporting uranium, we would have locked them up in the same containers as the radioactive material.

We find these to be horrible, attrotious acts. While we agree, the protesters did go to far by boarding the ships, to kill them all for the acts of some of them is unreasonable. Call us tree-hugging hippies if you must, but it is sad to see a nation degrading to this level. How can profits be put ahead of human life. At least our environment will be pristine and protected while you exploit yours.

Secondly, if any one wants to take political refuge in the DSUANL, they are welcomed.
