*the television opens on a Gaian News Network Special Viewing of Lord-Chief Merchant Victor Marik addressing the Galmorran Parliament and domestic as well as foreign new agencies. Marik straightens his tie and smiles at the cameras*

"Honorable members of the Galmorran National Parliament, great citizens of the Mercantile Republic, and distinguished foreign guests, I welcome you to this nation's first State of the Republic adress since our civil war broke out. I am happy to announce that Galmorra's ports and airports have reopened under the temporary protection of the Merchant's Guild security forces. Aristocrat resistance is waning and Galmorra seeks to expand its economy. We welcome any and all past, present, and future trade partners. I am ready to field questions now."

Secretary of Commerce Cordelia Stanton was busy going over reports in her office, one caught her eye, she read it a couple times over, then summoned a member of her staff to draft a proposal.

[code:1:0f23e20aa6]Lord-Chief Merchant Victor Marik,
The People's Republic of Vernii would be interested in purchasing land in your nation for the building of a trade port on Earth. The port would follow our standard design: An embassy, a small garrison for a security force, a hotel, and landing and maintenance facilities for starships up to 50,000 tons. There would also be space left over for future growth of the port.

Interim Foreign Relations Commissioner Katherine Heathrow casually reads Vernii's proposal. She then writes back a counterproposal:

Madam Secretary,

We shall be more then pleased to accomodate your needs. We do, however, have a suggestion. As with any force of foreign guards we will request the presence of Galmorran liaison officers to make transition smooth and problem-free. Thank you for your interest.

That would be fine, a Galmorran liason is acceptable. What is the price for the land? A location near a major city is preferable, more customers.

We can place your embassy within a legation quarter in Galmorra City. There won't be any cost for the land, per se. Just a tariff of 1% on all Vernii goods traded in their legation. Cheaper for you in the long run, and it improves international relations.

Two freighters, each the size of a dreadnought, and a destroyer pop into existence at the edge of the solar system, light flares as their impeller nodes bleed off the energy from the transission from hyper. The destroyer, VNS Trafalgar takes up position in front of the two freighters as they begin the journey toward Earth. The freighters carry equipment and workers for the construction of the port.

Twelve hours later:

The three ships enter orbit over Galmorra, hangar bays on the freighters open up and cargo shuttles exit for the first trip to the surface, ferrying the men and equipment to the construction site.

OOC: Construction complete in three days, then I'll send a ship carrying the staffs for the port and embassy.

"Sir? Pardon us, the mail room's been backed up as of late. We recieved this message a while ago, but we didn't find it until just now."

"Hmm? What is it?"

"A...trade offer from a nation called Galmorra. It was broadcast a while ago, but our news officers transcripted it."

"Very well, let me see it."

The aide handed the message to the Führer and stepped back a couple steps, waiting while the message was read. After a moment, the Führer rubbed his chin in thought.

"Hmm...interesting. Well, see if we can set up an embassy and port (OOC: starport if you're future, airport and/or seaport if you're modern). Make sure we can guard them with our own soldiers."

"Yes, sir."

"That will be all."

The aide walked out of the room and went to her office to reply to the offer. She quickly came up with a good response while her HP PC powered up, and got to work immediately.

We are interested by your offer to build trade relations with your nation. If you agree to our terms, we can get to work immediately. We would like to construct an embassy within your capital, and a port in a convenient location that you find to be adequate. We also request that these locations be guarded by SAVXian soldiers, as it standard policy. We eagerly await your response.

Board Member Noah Lemming, Head of External Commerce reads the brief memo attached to a seemingly important document:

[code:1:16484b570e]Sorry for the tardiness of this reaching you Mr. Lemming, system errors and what not.[/code:1:16484b570e]

System errors, bah, just lazy that’s all it is, but best to read this before I punish any of those fools.

Dear Lord-Chief Merchant Victor Marik,

We here at the Mikosolf Corperation are always looking to expand our markets. Therefore, we request that permission would be given for construction of an embassy within your boarders. Further constructions (such as factories/exchanges) can be disscussed later.

We await your reply upon the embassy issue.

Seems a good enough draft, thought Lemming. Better send it out right away.

So he put the letter in the "Out" bin on his desk after he had signed the release and headed out to play a few rounds of golf before the next meeting.

The Mercantile Republic of Galmorra looks forward to trading with the Dracun Imperium. As normal, we seek to have observers.liaison personnel to work with your embassy guards. However, we respectfully decline the offer of an airfield. Galmorra is currently in the process of building its own armed forces and does not need aid. Your concern is welcomed, however.

Dear Lord-Chief Merchant Victor Marik,
Only requests are a low to nill tarif on our goods. Though we cannot say they are superior to yours we pride ourselves on giving the consumer what they want.

Furthermore, allowing possible explansions of corperate/manufacturing is a welcomed idea, not only explanding production capabilities but lessening shipping costs.
