epn: Today our leader anounced an aggressive new spending spree that he, in a state of the union adress, hoped would bring a new era of scientific understanding to the people. The government plans to launch 105 communications satelites which have a resolution of 1m at sea level with x-ray,light amp, IR as well as standard viewing. The cost of this program is extimated at 10.5 billion USD and another 5 billion to establish a ground base. These sateliates will be placed in geo synchronous in such a way that every spot on the planet can be observed similtaneously. When asked what was next for the space program Aland laughed and said "Who knows? The moon? But seriously we are considering building a sky hook and space elevator to alleviate cost of inter-planetary travel."
