Tundric civil war... (open RP)

OOC: Okay, I've had this idea for a while now, but only got around to doing it today. I'll post the second part up sometime tomorrow morning. If you want to join in, on either side, the loyalists (under president Verian-Saiyoto) or as the Junisarians (under First Junisat Belarion) ask first, and if you plan on joining in the war (they'll be good reason to one Belarion starts committing atrocities and putting the Tundra's WMDs to good usage, no, not nukes, just small chemical and biological attacks more than likely). I'll be playing the side of both the loyalists and Junisarians with this nation, may seem unfair, but thats the way I would like to do this. If you do want to join in, please don't do something stupid like saying 'I send in 10 million to kill president verian'.
IC:
President James Verian-Saiyoto looked through the report he held on his hands, More Junisarian shit to deal with… he sighed. The latest problem for the Tundric government was the rising power of the Lord Junisar movement; a new religion based on the teachings of the ‘Lord Junisar’ was gaining influence and followers exponentially. The leader of the religion was title First Junisat Belarion. He was rich, crazed, owned the only defense contractor in the Tundra other than the nationalized Tundric Armaments Inc., and according to this report, was amassing a small army.
“Sir, I know it seems unrealistic, but we sincerely believe that Belarion may be planning some sort of religious coup against you. He already has the support of numerous generals in the army, has converted entire divisions to his religion, and according to the latest poll, millions are flocking to the teachings of this ‘Lord Junisar’. I feel you must do something to stop him, before it is to late,” the Tundric Intelligence Bureau chief Hector Manic pleaded.
“Sir, with all due respect to our esteemed intelligence chief, I feel this is no more than just some religious discrimination, neither you or him have embraced the teachings of the Lord Junisar, and neither of you can know the glory and harmony he brings, First Junisat Belarion is a kind, and honourable man, and would never do anything such as an overthrow, the mere thought of that would appall him. In fact, President James, I feel that right now, you should remove that cross from around your neck, and embrace the true Lord Junisar!” defended Junisar follower, and aide to the president, Johnathan Farron.
“John, I have told you before, and I will tell you once more, but NEVER again, that I will not forsake God, and that this ‘Lord Junisar’ is nothing more than a hoax created by that crazed fool Belarion. Now for Christ’s sake, stop trying to convert me!” the president replied angrily.
“Then sir, I am truly sorry, but you shall see the folly of your choice” John responded as he drew out what looked like a cell phone and pressed a button.
The intelligence chief spun to face Johnathan and drew his pistol, raising it to Jonathon’s head. “What the hell is that, and what the hell are you talking about?!” the intelligence chief demanded.
“Today, the followers of Lord Junisar shall be rewarded for their service,” Johnathan smiled grimly.
Then chaos erupted, the palace alarms went off, and explosions could be heard in the distance. Without a second thought, the intelligence chief pulled the trigger, and Johnathan fell to the ground dead. The phone, which was linked only to the security center of the palace, started buzzing James grabbed it immediately. “Security, what the hell is going on out there?!” the president demanded.
“Sir, we don’t know what the hell happened! We got multiple contacts up in the air, we scrambled fighters, but they reported saying it was just the ninth air wing, then we got contacts on the ground, it was the fifty fourth Dragoons, but then they opened fire, then the ninth downed our squadron that was with them and came on for a full assault, SAMs managed to drive them off, but they ripped apart the airfields, we’re scrambling all our units to fight off the fifty fourth, but we’ve picked up two more divisions coming in from other directions!” the security head, General McArthur reported.
“General, I’ll be down there in a minute!” the president yelled as he looked about the office. Several SMG toting guards were already in defensive positions around him. He went over to a where a large cabinet was standing and opened it, it contained a flak vest, an A-8 assault carbine fully decked out with all options, the same ones used by the special forces, a recently introduced Tundric automag, several grenades, and a Kevlar helmet.
Within a minute the president was decked out in full combat gear, and as he was already wearing blue arctic fatigues, he almost melded in perfectly with the other guards. The guards, the president, and the intelligence chief ran through the halls of the palace, all the while listening to the screams of the dieing palace defenders on the guards’ radio, the screaming palace alarms, terrified palace workers running about chaotically, and roaring explosions mixed in with the occasion shaking of the palace itself.
The president and followers arrived at the security center within about two minutes of the assault’s beginning. The security center was even more chaotic then the palace itself, with aides running back and forth carrying messages, dozens of different radio transmissions spilling over each other with casualty reports, screaming commanders, and the roaring sounds of battle.
General McArthur saw the President enter the room and he rushed over to him a look of defeat, but also of grim defiance on his face. “Sorry sir, but we’ve lost it, two of the Palace Guard regiments are annihilated, the airfields are gone, the remaining troops are being pushed back by five times their number. However, we can still get you out of here, we have five helos warmed up at the enclosed helipad, you’ll have go outside in the open for about fifty meters, but once your done, and the helipad opens up, you’ll be in the clear, we got the fifth air guard coming in to tie up enemy air forces for your escape.” The General said.
“What? No…no, no, no, no, no. The palace can’t fall; it has a full division, the most advanced defense systems ever! Damnit! Isn’t there something, anything else we can do?! The Goliaths! We can deploy the Goliaths! I know their only prototypes for the Star Guard, but they have to be able to do something…” the President said desperately.
“I’m sorry sir, but it’s a lost cause, we’ll hold ‘em off, you get to those choppers, these Junisarians are taking over, however, we got the whole Avalon province on our side, you’ll be safe there. As for the Goliaths, we do have a bunch of them, I’ll give the order, but at best, it’ll give us a few more minutes,” the General replied sadly.
The General walked over to one of the stations in the center, and spoke a few words to the station’s operator. The station’s screen switched over to a security camera. On the security camera one could see Junisarian tanks and IFVs rolling out of the trees and onto the paved surface surrounding the palace. Then the camera shifted to the left, showing a hangar opening and Goliath walkers, prototypes commissioned for the Tundric Star Guard, walking out, four of them lead the way, then screams could be heard over the comm. as a pair of missiles fired from a strafing fighter entered the hangar and exploded, all but the lead four Goliath’s were destroyed.
The president’s guards tried to hustle the president out of the center so they could escape to the helipads, but James pushed them, intent on watching the screen depicting the Goliaths. The Goliaths walked forward towards a cluster of Junisarian vehicles. The lead Goliath fired off a pair of its missiles, which streaked into a pair of older Spartan MBTs. The two Spartan’s exploded violently, sending flaming debris in all directions.
Had the Goliaths not garnered the attention of the Junisarian forces before, they had it now. A mixed force of new Arctic Wolf MBTs and older Spartans opened fire on the Goliaths, but the Goliaths had gone to full running speed and the shells missed. Another Arctic Wolf somewhere on the battlefield got a lucky hit, smashing apart one of the legs, and allowing one of the Arctic Foxes to put a pair of missiles into the crashed Goliath. The other Goliaths streaked off more missiles and started blazing away with their twin 25mm mass drivers. The magnetically propelled rounds packing far more punch than a conventional 25mm cannon, as multiple Arctic Foxes learned the hard way as they were ripped apart.
A passing fighter locked on and launched a missile at another one of the Goliaths, while a well aimed cannon shot by an Arctic Wolf put a third Goliath out of commissioned. The final Goliath fired off its final missiles and started tearing into an infantry formation with its cannons, as mass fire was concentrated on it.
The president finally pulled his eyes away from the screen and fled the center with his guards and intelligence chief. They weaved their way through the palace and emerged outside, running towards a large building which housed a helipad inside. They could see the fighters of the fifth air guard engaging with the ninth air wing, while the bloodied remnants of the Palace ground defenders rushed to form a perimeter around the stretch of ground between the helipad and the palace.
As the president got outside, he noticed a group of infantry rushing towards them, he spotted a symbol he seen on the tanks that the Goliath’s had destroyed, and, assuming they were enemies, raised his rifle and opened fire. His guards joined in, and soon the small enemy infantry squad was down, but they had managed to return fire and wound one of the Guards, the others left him on the ground where he raised his SMG and started firing at anything he felt was within range.
The president, his guards, and his intelligence chief, made it into the helipad where five newly built Knight Gunships picked them up and the top of the building opened up. The five Helos made their way out of the building and set towards a small base that was controlled by the Winter’s Warriors. There, they would be placed in Arctic Foxes, and under the cover of the Winter’s Warriors, they would head towards a small port city still under Tundric control and would board a warship then head for the Avalon province with the first Tundric fleet.

“This is Lisa Mazaratto, for the Tundric News Network. In a horrific display of power, First Junisat Belarion has seized power in a horribly bloody coup, that is pushing the Tundra into civil war. Already, numerous Generals and other unit commanders have been executed, and replaced by those loyal to Belarion, and many more units, in the navy, army, and air force have declared loyalty to Belarion, who has proclaimed himself Emperor of The Holy Empire of The Canadian Tundra, declaring that all those ‘Loyal to the true Lord Junisar shall be rewarded on this day’. Though we do not yet know the fate of President Verian-Saiyoto, according to Belarion, he has ‘fled the wrath of the one true lord, but shall not be able to run for long, soon, he will face the fury of Junisar, and pay for his heresy’.” The screen switches over to Emperor Belarion giving a speech on the steps of the palace, the camera pans and the wreckages of Palace Guard vehicles are scattered everywhere.
“This just in, we are getting reports of fighting breaking out across the Tundra, multiple divisions are declaring themselves for President Verian-Saiyoto and are squaring off against the usurper Belarion’s…oh my god! Junisarian troops! They’re storming the station!” People can be seen screaming and running on the set as gunfire erupts, moving closer and closer to the set. Lisa, and what appears to be a cameraman start running to the right, but gunfire rips through them both and they fall to the ground, then more gunfire is heard, and the screen turns to static.

OOC: Heres the second part, I tried to keep it short, from now on, all posts by me will be relatively short compared to the first post.
IC:
The Knight Gunships soared over the scenes of battle below, one of First Junisat Belarion’s Divine divisions was battling the sixty-fourth Lancers. By the looks of things, the Junisarians were winning. The second and third regiments of the Lancers were smoking ruin. The first, fourth, and fifth regiments were fighting a running battle towards the Winter’s Warriors where the President’s flight was also headed.
The flight finally reached the Warriors base, and the president, the intelligence chief, and the guards were packed into the back of an Arctic Fox IFV. The Arctic Fox rolled into the middle of the column as MBTs, more IFVs, and air defense vehicles took up positions in front and behind them.
After about half an hour of traveling the column finally reached the port. The Winter’s warriors took up defensive positions as three full divisions of pursuing Junisarian troops approached.
The President walked up and down the lines of the Winter’s Warriors, another report had just come in, confirming that the remnants of the sixty-fourth, which had volunteered to act as forward scouts, had finally been annihilated.
“Mr. President, we have to get you out of here!” the intelligence chief pleaded with James.
“What about the Warriors?! I’m supposed to be in command of them, and now I’m just supposed to abandon them to die like I abandoned the Palace guard?!” the president yelled as he looked out across the fifteen thousand men and women of the Winter’s Warriors who were dug and waiting for the Junisarian assault.
“Sir, the Warriors are the most elite fighting force we have, they’ll hold out long enough to drive off the Junisarians then they’ll board their own troopships and escape with us!” the intelligence chief said.
“God damnit! I am not leaving them!” The president yelled.
“Yes you are” the intelligence chief responded and nodded to one of the guards. The guard flipped his SMG over and used it as a club to whack at the back of the president’s legs, sending him crashing to the ground. The guard and intelligence chief put him into the back of the IFV and then entered themselves, driving off towards the CTS Ice Storm which waited for them.
*******************
Private Justin Sanderly shooked nervously as he heard the report being announced to the dug in Winter’s Warriors. The Fourty-second Dragoons, the fourty-third Dragoons, and the twenty ninth Hussars, Justin’s old unit, were barreling down on them, intent on killing each and every last one of them, and then getting the President.
It was the Warriors’ job to make sure they didn’t leave the battlefield alive. Justin looked over to his new CO, Lieutenant Waterly, and asked “Sir, the twenty-ninth used to be my old unit, why the hell are they attacking us?!”
“Private, it’s called civil war, in civil war, those who used to be your friends, hell, even your brothers, become your mortal enemies. While it may be hard, you have to kill them, or they WILL kill you” the lieutenant responded.
Justin gulped in fear, then heard a low rumbling noise. The noise of hundreds of MBTs approaching. Then the high-pitched whistling of artillery shells joined in as explosions rocked the Warriors’ positions. Justin looked to his right and saw an Arctic Wolf exploded as a shell impacted on its turret.
Another shell landed close by, sending a dozen soldiers through the air, and the body parts of a dozen more splattering in all directions. Fear gripped Justin, sweat poured down him, soaking his underclothes and his BDU. The rifle in his hands trembled, then something happened.
All of the soldiers in the makeshift trench started chanting one of the Warriors’ creeds. “As we walk through the valley of death…” Justin heard his unit start speaking.
“We shall fear no evil…” he heard himself saying in unison with them, his fear disappearing.
“For we are the Warriors of Winter…” more and more soldiers were joining in.
“And there is no evil great enough to challenge us” the chant ended, in perfect timing as IFVs, MBTs, and infantry started pouring over the small hill.
Instantly Devastator’s, LAWs, and AT guns went off, savaging the heavy enemy armour. The Warriors’ own vehicles opened fire, devastating even more Junisarian vehicles. Justin raised his rifle, looked through the sight, and saw the men of his old platoon coming over the hill. All of them had been his best friends, some had even grown up with him, he had been willing to fight, and to die with them. Without a second thought, he aimed at the neck of the man who had been his best friend since he was three, and fired.
The man’s neck blew open as the 5.56 round ripped into it, and the corpse crumbled onto the ground. Justin took aim again, and fired. Again, he fired. A fourth time, he fired, this time sending a round through an old friend’s eye. But to Justin, they were no longer friends, just enemy soldiers.

“This is Mark McTavish, of the newly created Avalon News Network. The voice of the true government of the Tundra, under President Verian-Saiyoto. The President is alive and safe, he is heading towards the Avalon Province via warship right now, and is expected to make an address upon his arrival.” The reported spoke.
“But now, for updates on the growing civil war. Seven more divisions were obliterated in the fighting today, as the city of Shadowport and outlying towns declared loyalty to the President, and rallied more then twelve divisions to their defense. The usurper Belarion has deployed twelve divisions of his traitors, and three of his Divine divisions to lay siege to Shadowport, already rolling through several outlying towns. Also, in better news for the people of the Tundra, three of the Usurper’s traitor divisions were obliterated today as the Winter’s Warriors bravely held the line against the three enemy divisions, covering the President’s escape. Sadly, half of the Winter’s Warriors were killed in the fighting. As to the air and naval forces now participating in the conflict, more than half the navy has declared themselves for President Verian-Saiyoto, after two fleets were split in their loyalties, a horrific ensued, claiming twenty nine warships, the remaining vessels of the two fleets have reformed into a single fleet, and renamed themselves the first Loyalist Naval brigade, and according to our latest report, are heading towards the Antioch Province to reinforce Loyalist troops there. Much of the air force however, is refusing to fly for either side, proclaiming that their sole purpose is to defend the Tundra against foreign threats. On behalf of myself and all the people of the Tundra, I thank you for your offer of assistance. While much of the fleet is under Loyalist control, the Junisarians have control of much of the military factories, weapon stockpiles, and mining operations, as well as larger ground forces. We have received reports that they are also readying chemical and biological weapons. The best assitance you could provide us would be (if you intend on sending troops) to deploy forces to reinforce Shadowport, which is our only foothold on the largest province, and industrial heart of the Tundra, the Ontario province. If you want to send monetary assistance, or supplies, then ship them to either the Avalon or Antioch provinces.

"This is Mark McTavish for the Avalon News Network. We have just received word that President Verian-Saiyoto has arrived safely in Avalon city, and will be making an address momentarily. While we wait for the address, we will bring you more updates on the conflict that has engulfed our nation." As the newsman is speaking, the right section of the screen turns into video footage of a number of infantry and IFVs making a surprise attack on unsuspecting armour units, the Junisarian MBTs are being opened up, and the crews killed by the infantry as their bodies are cast out and the MBTs drive off.
"Just an hour ago, the seventy-fifth Arctic Infantry turned against their Junisarian commanders and executed them. This was soon followed by a surprise assault on the nearby Eighty-Ninth Dragoons, many of the Dragoons' vehicles were captured or destroyed, leaving the shattered remnants fleeing towards the positions being secured by the Eighty-first and Eight-Second Arctic Hussars. The Seventy-Fifth has since fallen back to the town of Mountsberg, where they are digging themselves in for an anticipated siege." The Newsman finishes as he taps the earpiece he has on and nods.
"We have just received word that the President is now making his address, we now go live to the Avalon naval base"
The camera switches to outside, an Ice Storm battlecarrier bearing the name Ice Storm is sitting in dock, while other warships can be seen out on the waters patrolling back and forth, or escorting troopships to the docks. The young president steps up to the podium and beigns to make his address:
"People of the Tundra, as you are all fully aware, First Junisat Belarion has enacted a failed coup. He has managed to gain much support in the military by converting many of our once loyal commanders and soldiers to his false god 'Lord Junisar'. Now, I understand that many of you are fearful, as open war is now waging across our nation. I can ensure you however, that you have no need to fear. For even as we speak, more and more forces are against the usurper, and I am already reorganizing the true forces of the Tundra to move against the traitor. Now, many of you have seen the casualty reports, and I am sure many have lost a friend or a loved one in this brutal conflict. Those who have died in my defense, and in the defense of the Tundra, have died honourably, and have died bravely for this great nation, and I have no doubt that even now they are watching from the heavens, watching over us and our fighting men and women, endowing them with their strength and courage. As for those who have died in the name of the 'Lord Junisar' and First Junisat Belarion. They are traitors, and have gotten what they deserve, as all those who fight for him will get. Now, I have gotten reports of uprisings and rioting throughout Ontario, and although I commend you for your brave actions, I must ask you to cease them. For the time being, I must ask you to live under Belarion's harsh rule, and cope with what will surely be coming your way. But believe me, this is for your own safety, Belarion has already shown that he has no qualms about killing innocents, as his traitors haved demonstrated in several cities across the Tundra. Do not worry however, for soon a day of reckoning shall come, when the blood of the Junisarian traitors shall stain the snows of the Tundra, and you shall once more have your freedom from his oppression." The president concluded his hastily thrown together speech and stepped down from the podium, to meet with several admirals and generals and make plans for the coming campaign to retake the Tundra.

OOC: Kihameria, the government under the president are the loyalists, they control two of the larger provinces, Antioch, and Avalon, along with the port city Shadowport in Ontario. The junisarians are more just a bunch of religious fanatics who are trying to convert the whole Tundric population, they don't really have a set political goal, more just trying to seize control, build up a military, and start taking smaller countries and converting them. So far, Shadowport is under siege, half the TDF (Tundric Defense Forces) navy has declared loyalty to the president and is grouping at Shadowport, Antioch, and Avalon. I'm going to start phasing in the other provinces with my next post or two. Isoloationist people, I'll get a t-gram to you later today, I don't even have time to post this message lol.
"I would like to call on the international community and the Tundric people for calm in this time of strife and confusion. Now is not the for war or the baring of arms. There has been far too much blood shead in war and act of violaence of late and there must come a time when good men, and women, stand up and say no...
There must come a time when leaders donot lead their people into senseless wars for honour or religion, but rather imbrace the honour of peace. There must come a time when all can stand together and talk, as equals, rather than take up gun and sword.
For if humanity cannot do this now than I fear humanity has failed adn I pray this is not the case. I humbling ask that all parties concerned lower their weapons and at least consider talks of peace and not divide their nation.
If such an option in considered than Rotovia stands here beside you"

Kihameria, I am not sure who you were referring to as being Islamic, as the dominant religion in the Tundra is by far Catholicism, well, up until the Junisarian religion was formed. Sorry for the rather poor quality of this post, I just made it quickly more for the sake of posting than anything else.
IC:
"Today is a day of mourning for all the people of the Tundra. For today brought about the most devastating attacks carried out by the Usurper Belarion, an estimated two hundred thousand have been butchered today as the Junisarians made use of chemical weapons, originally intended as a last ditch defense for the Tundra against other nations that might use WMDs. The first attack was carried out against Mounstberg and the Seventy-Fifth Arctic Lancers holed up there. Gas canisters fitted onto artillery shells were lobbed into the city for over two hours until the entire region was flooded with poisonous gases. The gases were carried northward by the wind, slaughtering thousands more, and devastating the enviroment around Mountsberg. President Verian-Saiyoto has promised revenge against Belarion for this horrific act."
"In another brutal display, Belarion had Arch-Bishop Jean Lorien crucified in a mockery of Jesus' crucifixion. This murder was transmitted over civilian satellites and displayed across the Tundra in an attempt to weaken Loyalist moral and crush their hopes. It did the opposite, as Belarion uttered the words "The blood of the heretics shall cleanse the Tundra" the president responded with a single word "Indeed". This verbal response was followed up by an immense aerial assault consisting of thirty fighter squadrons lead by the famed Furious Angels, who devastated Junisarian ground forces and sunk seven Junisarian warships. Also, multiple Junisarian Munitions depots were destroyed when two squadrons of A-9S Sea Lords launched from the battlecarrier Spirit of The North carried out an air raid on the capital of New Toronto."
"In other war news, the first Loyalist Fleet has departed Avalon and is now moving to engage the Second Junisarian fleet, which lies in wait between the occupied provinces of Castamere and Iragia. Meanwhile, Loyalist forces faced multiple defeats in Narius, finally succumbing to far superior Junisarian numbers as the second Divine Division, Junisar's Justice, hammered the thirty-third Arctic Fusiliers down to a single battalion, which retreated to the coast line, where it fought valiantly until the bitter end"
"Lastly, the fighting spilled into the Kellarin province, where virtually the entire population resides in coastal cities on the East and West shores, due to the fact that the daily average temperature with windshield is approximately -40 celsius. Junisarian and Loyalist troops battle it out across the frozen central plains around the largest inland settlement, a 10,000 strong mining encampment which possess its own small nuclear reactor, needed to power the immense heating system which keeps the miners from dieing of the cold. Currently, Loyalist troops occupy the camp, but Junisarian assaults are becoming more frequent and more devastating."

Kihameria’s offer of naval assistance is greatly appreciated, although we currently hold naval superiority, reports are coming in from several of the smaller provinces that have fallen to Junisarian control that large numbers of merchant ships are being converted for war, and that civilian shipyards are now building warships. Sadly, while your forces may be weary from the long Kihamerian winters, they should expect only snow and ice where we are.

Prime Minister Nikolai, I must say that I am surprised to see your offer of military aid, and although I am surprised, this is also the first time I have been truly happy since the start of this conflict. I have long dreamed of the day that the Tundric people and Hattian people could work side by side, and now you offer me the chance to not only work, but fight side by side. It would be one of the greatest honours to fight alongside your forces, and if you are still willing, sending them to Antioch in preparation of an invasion of Ontario would be best for us. However, if your forces happen to be itching for action, our forces in the Narius province were recently overrun, and we are strapped for ground forces at the moment, as many divisions are tied up in the siege of Shadowport, or entrenching themselves in Antioch and Avalon.
"Your nation has earned an amount of respect in Hattia, at least among the military. Mainly because you hold the current record on most Hattian territory taken by an enemy. And this will be a good chance to try out some new equipment..."

OOC: Hattia, you might recognize the General's name in this lol
The fleet of Loyalist warships glided silently through the dark shallow waters of the icy Arctic. An unnatural calm had settled about the water as the fleet weaved through the pale white spires of ice that stuck out of the water, their roots planted firmly under the ocean surface, like a frozen forest of crystalline trees.
The CTS Warrior of The North lead the fleet as they neared the Second Junisarian fleet. Sitting in between the provinces of Castamere and Iragia.
The fleet, with a vast array of ECM systems active, ECM planes flying cover, and the natural radar protection provided by the ice fields moved into gunnery range. In unison, the fleet opened fire, battleships opened up with a dozen 14 inch cannons each, along with dozens of SSMs and cruise missiles. Frigates, cruisers, destroyers, and battlecarriers followed suit as a storm of A-35 Variable Geometry fighters and A-9S Sea Lords streaked towards the enemy fleet, brimming with air-to-air and anti-ship missiles.
The enemy fleet responded with their own barrages, sinking two frigates and crippling a destroyer. The Loyalist fighters entered the fray before the Junisarian carriers could get off their own ready alert fighters, and the fleet's flagship was sunk as dozens of anti-ship missiles fired by Sea Lords tore into it. The A-35s spread out, shooting down already airborne enemy fighters, while the Sea Lords engaged the battleships, targeting and destroying missile batteries and the large gun turrets.
The Loyalist fleet fell under a Junisarian barrage of anti-ship missiles, but just recently developed Guardian Fleet defense ships opened up with their numerous Vanguards, providing a protective screen of fire against the incoming missiles. A lucky shell from one of the two Junisarian battleships crashed through the deck of the CTS Ethran, setting off an ammo magazine. The immense explosion blew through the ship, setting off more magazines, and finally the fuel tanks. The explosion sent a nearby destroyer flipping onto its side, as the ship was ripped apart, and the charred remnants quickly fell under the water.
Despite the loss of the Ethran the Junisarian fleet was being crushed, its ships were starting to turn and flee, onto the most dedicated followers of Lord Junisar kept their ships under the guns of the First Loyalist Naval Brigade, also known as the First Loyalist Fleet.
*****
General Anthony Reed paced back and forth in his command tent, five divisions were under his command in the province of Icehold, where Junisarian troops were mounting for an attack. A number of air force and a handful of Navy ships were also under his command, as he was appointed with defeating the Junisarians in the province.
"Sir, it's been confirmed, the President has accepted the aid of Hattia and Hattian troops are preparing to ship out to here" one of the General's aides reported.
"Then the president has failed" the General muttered.
"Sir?" the aide inquired.
"Son, I was marine in the Hattian conflict, I saw my friends and fellow soldiers die at their hands, and now our president wants to be friends with them! We should be fighting against them, not with them!" the General yelled.
"What do you want to do sir? There is a lot of grumbling about this among some of the men" the aide asked.
"It seems we have a choice, we must choose the lesser of two evils, and right now, the lesser is Belarion. Send a message to the Junisarian commander, that due to recent events concering the acceptance of Hattian aid, we cannot, and will not, support our so called President, and that our loyalty now lies with Junisarians upon the condition that our religious freedom be granted" the General ordered as he walked over to the PA system that would transmit a message to all the troops under his command and awaited the Junisarian response.
It came several minutes later, when the General's aide turn to Reed and spoke "Sir, the Junisarians want proof of our decision."
"Then they shall have it" Reed muttered as he flicked on the PA. "Men of the Tundra, all of you have fought bravely, and have fought well in the name of President Verian-Saiyoto. Well today, we shall fight for him no longer! For he has betrayed us brave soldiers who fought in the Hattian conflict, by willing accepting Hattian aid, and their offer to send troops to help fight the Junisarians. It has become clear to me, as one who fought against the Hattians, that he has become the greater of two evils, and that the only way to ensure our future is to side with Emperor Belarion, and the Junisarian government. We have been promised religious freedom should we help them fight the traitor who we once called our President. From now on, we are Junisarian troops! And we are to engage and eliminate all threats against our new cause!" the General ordered as he sat back into a chair and waited for the inevitable.
Within minutes battle broke out amongst the forces in Icehold, the majority of the loyalists were fierecely loyal to General Reed and only about one fifth of the forces declared themselves Loyalists and tried to fight, but it was in vain, as they were quickly eliminated by the newly converted Junisarian forces.
Ehh, seems like I might have made it worse.
Upon hearing of the defection of more of the Tundric military, the Prime Minister sent a message to the President of Canadian Tundra, asking him to send it to the defecting troops.
I have heard of more troops defecting from the true Tundric government. You grumble because our nations were once at war. Because your friends were killed. Do you not think I lost comrades in that war also. My wife and son were killed in your attack on Marx Island. And yet, I have forgiven you. I still have a limp from a bullet I took from you. Yet I have forgiven you. I remember the fleet, burning in the harbor. It still brings me to tears, even after all of this time. I remember matching wits with General Reed, whom I now highly respect, holding off our army for so long. We do not wish to take freedom from you, we will not try to force our beliefs upon you. But if you still wish to remain traitors, you will be spared if you surrender, but if not, you will again die on the bayonets of Hattia. Good luck and may the best man win...

"Greetings, I'm Mark McTavish from the news building of Avalon News Network. With the treason of General Reed, and four divisions of troops, the President has ordered a large contingent of ground troops and a fleet of warships to go to the Icehold province and regain control of it. While some claim this will leave Avalon more open to a Naval assault, the President has deemed in necessary, and has claimed that the Naval Defence of Avalon will become less important once Kihamerian and Hattian troops arrive in the...oh dear god! The Junisarians have launched an Annihalator ICBM at each of the inbound Hattian and Kihamerian armadas!"
*****
First Lieutenant Walker pushed his A-9S Sea Lord to the limits as he, and a large flight of A-35s, Sea Lords, and older A-32s returned to active duty from weapon caches around the Tundra streaked towards the launch site of the two Annihalator ICBMs, a veritable wall of Junisarian fighters were waiting their arrival, and there was no doubt that most of the strike force would die, but the Hattian and Kihamerian fleets were more important than a few squadrons of Tundric fighters.
The force came within missile range of the enemy fighters. Both sides launched off mass volleys, both sides launched chaff, flares, and activated ECM suites. Nineteen Loyalist fighters were destroyed, Seventeen Junisarian fighters also fell. The two groups moved into visual range, dozens of fighters broke off into individual dogfights. Missiles streaked in every direction, white rounds from the guns of the fighters ripped through the sky. Walker and an A-35 managed to get past the line and hit their afterburners, moving quickly towards the launch site.
The two missile silo doors were open. Then the two ICBMs launched. They streaked upwards, slowly at first as their powerful engines pushed the immense payload capsule upwards. Both Walker and the A-35 held down their gun triggers, but to no avail. The two missiles gained more and more speed and tilted towards their targets. A SAM warning light went off in the A-35, and three surface to air missiles streaked towards it. Walker knew it was the only one of the two capable of keeping the ICBMs in range longe enough to fire, so he hit his afterburners, fired off his 30mm gatling cannon and a missile. He used the missiles remote detonator to blow up two of the SAMs, and his gun managed to rip apart the third. He tilted his fighter downwards, there were to many SAM sites to blow up, so he headed for the silos. His fighter managed to enter one just before the doors closed.
The explosion set off fuel and more ICBMs underground as well as ammo stockpiles. All the armour in the world wouldn't have been able to stop the explosion, and the entire site was annihalated. The ground heaved upwards for a second, then collapsed into the vast underground cavern that had once been the missile base.
The A-35 folded its wings back, and using every tool possible, moved as fast as possible to stay in range with the ICBMs. The first one left its range, the second one stayed long enough for the pilot to fire off a final missile before the engines overheated, and with the safeties shut down, the fuel tanks exploded, engulfing the fighter in a fireball.
The missile hit the ICBM in the engine, the payload capsule, using a safety system broke away, but the explosion destroyed the payload's parachute, and the errant warheads barreled towards a nearby town of 10,000, wiping out half the town's population when it hit.

Captain Mathew Longing had never wanted to be a hero, he had simply wanted to fly, civilian passenger liners that is, although during his compulsory service he had flown one of the older A-32s. Yet civil war had a tendency to demand sacrifice even from the simplest of people. This was one of those moments.
Flight 129 of Tundric Airways, piloted by Captain Longing, was the only thing standing between an Annihalator ICBM and a Hattian fleet being sent to support the Loyalists under President Verian-Saiyoto.
The co-pilot, a rookie on his first flight, looked over at Longing. "What...what do we do?" he asked, visibly shaking.
"We do our duty" Longing replied as he set the plane's engines to full. It was only a minute before the ICBM was in sight. Longing aimed the plane up, he could hear the people in the back screaming. He shut and locked the cabin before any of them could get in and try to stop him.
He heard the co-pilot whimper, his service had obviously been something to the effect of a technician or cook. Longing could have sworn he smelt urine before the plane and ICBM collided, creating an immense explosion mid-air.
OOC: Annihalator ICBMs are relatively short ranged, non nuclear weapons. They carry six large conventional warheads and were designed for the defence of The Arctic Islands by destroying inbound fleets before they could pose a threat to the region.
Admiral Brusilov stood at the helm of his ship, "Sir, ICBM launch detected, coming this way!" "Activate the countermeasures, evasive manuevers!" Klaxons blared throughout the fleet and the ships began to scatter. Brusilov could see the bright tail of the missile... "What is that plane doing?" The plane and missile collided, creating a shockwave that threw Brusilov back into the wall. "..." Brusilov picked himself up, "See if you can get the names of whoever was flying that plane. I'll give him every medal that we can give a foreigner.
1 hour later
"Comrade Admiral, the aircraft are ready to launch, and so are the Landing transports." Brusilov nodded, "Deploy them!"
The HLCA "Landers" (Hattian Landing Craft Armed) departed from the fleet. The Red flag of Hattia flew on the lead ship, and the sun gleamed off of the many bayonets.

General Reed paced along the hastily assembled defensive line that was to protect the coast. Fighters were on ready alert, ready to launch at a moments notice. SAM batteries and Air Defence vehicles lined the coast while Machine Gun nests were set up at all the possible landing beachs. Hordes of infantry and armoured vehicles awaited the Hattians' arrival as they made ready the defenses. It seemed as though nothing could penetrate the seemingly mighty line, but with an incoming Hattian fleet that could bombard them from afar, and with an incoming fleet of Loyalist warships with nothing but a dozen ships for protection, the defenses might be annihalated before a single soldier stepped foot. Indeed, the Hattians had already launched air raids and lobbed fire from afar at Icehold's defenders. Now, they simply waited for the coming, and what would surely be devastating battle.

We have recieved reports from our men that you have fired ICBM's at the incoming Hattian fleet. While it is not really our place to tell you how to fight your war, it would be in the best interestes in both of us if your forces didn't use such destructive weapons. We know they are not necessarily WMD's, though they could be easily converted to such. This war will be costly enough; why destroy that which you wish to gain?
Your wish for more supplies and men are duly noted. The marines that first landed were only a scouting force, there to determine if you have a legitimate chance at winning. It is our conclusion that you have a fairly good chance. The Loyalists are reeling, and with more defections coming after the intervention of Hattian troops, we think only more good things can come for you. Therefore, we are readying a full fighting force to be delivered to your nation. We will advise you when they are ready and on their way. Please advise to where you think they would be of most use.

He said they weren't WMDs, just big anti-ship missiles.
Brusilov was not stupid. He had fought Reed's men before and he wasn't going to take unneccesary losses. "Initate bombardment level 1 (Everything we have.) then on my order, land the men..."
Planes carrying napalm, flechette bombs, bunker busters and smart bombs took off from the carriers while the other ships began to open up with cruise missiles and cannons.

*the Kihamerian fleet detachment at first paniced, but one of the Aegis cruisers quickly fired 2 missiles(Anti-other type of missile,i dunno the offical name) at the ICBM,but it was being engaged by something else, the 4 foward fighters had made there rounds and were returning to one of the aircraft carriers,on the other aircraft carrier 4 Tornado GR4(multi-role) jets were being loaded with freefall bombs, and 6 Tornado F3's for escort, the other ships were on alert and preparing to active radar jamming devices so that htey couldnt be targeted by any more ICBM's,the Aegis cruisers were on high alert until the jamming was done.
the other planes had cleared the runway on carrier #1 for the foward patrol planes to have a safe landing, the planes had been equiped with either freefall,or laser guided bombs so that they could just attack ground targets, but there were still a good ammount of air-to-air missiles stocked on the carriers.*

The forces under General Reed were being devastated. Their fighters were trying desperately to hold off the incoming Hattian aircraft, and they were managing to hold their own, but it was the Hattian fleet that was causing problems. The troops had nothing capable of firing back at them, and they were simply at their mercy.
Another barrage of missiles streaked towards them, Vanguards opened up with their guns and started shooting them down, a handful of Hattian aircraft broke through the veritable wall of Junisarian fighters and strafed many of the Vanguards or their munitions trucks. Those that weren't destroyed soon spent all their ammo and the missiles came in unopposed.
Shells blasted apart the artilley pieces, one shell crashed into a hastily established munitions depot, setting off roughly a hundred tons of ordnance, obliterating everything nearby. The soldiers were driven out of the small trenches, the bunkers, and the machine gun nests. The armoured vehicles accelarated down the beach and towards the water where little fire was being directed.
Then the small force of Junisarian ships set their engines to full and went for a suicide run on the Hattian fleet. The fanatical Junisarian crews were preparing to ram any Hattian ship they could get to, while Reed's ships were simply determined to throw themselves in the middle of the Hattian fleet and wreak as much chaos and havoc as possible.

"Comrade Admiral, incoming enemy ships." The Admiral looked out at the approaching ships through his binoculars, "Bloody hell, those guys are crazy. Shift the bombardment on the ships, and begin the landing, once the beach is secured. Move in the artillery guns."
The Hattian fighters and bombers dropped the last of their payloads and headed back towards their ships. The bombardment ceased as the battleships fired at their new foes. The landing craft began nearing the shore, and sent a hail of lead towards the LZ with their machine guns...

The Junisarian fleet was, obviously, no match for the superior Hattian fleet. Yet that didn't matter, it wasn't going to be your normal naval battle, already the Junisarian ships were overloading their engines, dumping their ammo magazines, and throwing off every last bit of equipment they could in an attempt to lighten their weight and thus increase their speed.
The frigate CTS Kellarin sped towards a Hattian destroyer, cannon and missile fire ripped into it, blowing open holes along the front and sides. Water poured in, the ship descended into the water, but it continued its deadly path, the crew prayed to Lord Junisar that it have just enough speed to ram the destroyer.
Another frigate headed towards a Hattian battleship, but cannon fire sent it under the ocean before it get to it. However, a tribal class destroyer took its place and headed straight for the Hattian vessel.

"The Siege of Avalon
First Junisat Belarion read over the report with content, his plan was working. Though the Loyalist forces had a greater navy, he had succeeded in having it spread across the Tundra, with fleets split up all across the nation, only a small naval force was left to defend the Loyalist capital of Avalon.
"Admirals, Generals, for the glory of the Lord Junisar, launch the assault" Belarion ordered the collected commanding officers in the makeshift office.
The officers rushed out and quickly moved to their ships which were already prepped. Soon, a little over a hundred warships with additional supply, cargo, and troopships would be laying siege to Avalon. Soon, Avalon would fall.
OOC: Hattia, Kihameria, you can RP the battle for Icehold, do as much damage as you would like, there's also my own Loyalist fleet with ground forces that should arriving momentarily you can use. I myself am going to get going on the siege of Avalon.
Finally, she stopped speaking.
"Well, that was one hell of a briefing Candy. So you are saying that these Juniwhatsits are ripping apart a nation for some arms dealer? This religion stuff is nuts."
The Dictator rocked from left to right in his plush swivel chair, musing over the torrent of information that had just come from this lovely young woman's mouth.
"Yes, sir, it does seem that way," said Candy, Director of Foriegn Intelligence. "I believe that, PLEASE concentrate on my face, SIR, it would be a good idea to offer some kind of support to the President; he seems to be in dire straits, even with the help of Hattia and Kihameria."
"These nations are far stronger than our own... y e s, I see your point now. Send for Admiral Indivatr on your way out, won't you darling?" He smiles, and gestures to the door, then returns to swaying. Candy nods and walks out, her hips swaying and a wry look on her pretty face.
Time passes, and still Aeon sits, deep in a reverie. A knock at the door brings the Dictator out of his trance.
"Admiral Indivatr for you, sah!"
"Thank you, major. Admiral, good to see you. I trust you have been briefed? <<Indivatr nods>> Very well. I am dispatching you to the Canadian Tundra with the Seventh Fleet. Your orders are to support President Verian-Saiyoto in whatever capacity he sees fit. I am preparing a letter requesting permission to intervene, which he should have within the hour. You will be given your formal orders on your departure. Good luck, and God speed you."
"Thank you sir. I will be sure to transmit data on the fleet before we leave the harbor. <<Indivatr turns as if to go, but then stops>> Why are we doing this sir? We have never had diplomatic contact with these nations before; what difference does it make to us if they live or die?"
"<<Aeon sighs. The room is quiet for a moment as the Dictator collects his thoughts>> Admiral, I could go on for hours pontificating about the importance of helping those in danger. I am going to be honest instead. We want recognition. No one really knows that Itakeitall exists. This war is one hell of a good chance to tell the world that we are here. That is why. It is unfortunate that I will be sacrificing the lives of some of them and some of ours, mais c'est la vie. You are dismissed."
The Admiral nods and leaves. Aeon contemplates the words he has just voiced. He then begins typing the letter asking permission to intervene, detailing the forces Itakeitall plans to commit, and, finally, giving the usual moral reasons and nonesuch. Later that night, he finishes it. He delicately puts it in the outbox on his immaculately clean desk, and then turns out the lights and goes home.
The LZ
The landing craft's machine guns continued blazing as the hatches went down and the troops jumped onto the land. Many were wounded or killed by enemy machine gun fire, but Hattian snipers in the landing craft took their toll on the machine gunners. Any enemies out in the open were skewered by the advancing troops. Commander Yuri Vladimirovich and a few squads of men had made it to the blind spot under the bunkers. "Alright comrades, the Admiral said that he wants the flag to be flying here before sundown." the men nodded, Vladimirovich pulled some rope out of his pack, then tied a grappling hook to the end of it and swung it up, catching some barbed wire. He tested the rope and motioned for the others to do the same, in a few minutes 28 men were in the trenches connecting the bunkers...
Hattian Fleet
"I hate these religious zealots!" the Admiral muttered as one of his destroyers was rammed by a suicide ship. "Fire the shotguns*!"
Missile hatches on the battleships opened up and released bright red missiles into the sky, they then headed towards the main concentration of enemy ships.
*Shotgun missiles are basically what they sound like, when they explode, they send big chunks of shrapnel flying everywhere, killing personnel easily and damaging even armored vehicles.

We thank you for your offer of assistance, your ships will be best put to use mustering with the rest of the fleet at Antioch. At Antioch we are gathering as many ships as we can in preparation for an assault on the Avalon siege fleets.

From: President Verian-Saiyoto
Subject: Further Assistance at Avalon
Message:
Thank you for the offer, however, Avalon can hold its own for now. If you wish to assist, gather at the fleet muster at Antioch. There, we intend to move the bulk of our, and our allies', ships in a move against the Junisarian naval forces.
The Junisarian fleet circled the island of Avalon, and began their mass bombardment. Hundreds of aircraft tried to carry out bombing runs, but Loyalist air forces and SAMs did their best to hold them off. The lossses numbered over two hundred aircraft and both sides withdrew, the Junisarians content to lob shells and missiles from the sea.
The Avalon missile defence network came online, several missile bays dug into the mountains opened up and launched large cruise missiles at the enemy ships, sinking several. Vanguards around the island worked endlessly, spewing out thousands of 30mm shells at incoming missiles and launching missiles at incoming cruise missiles.
Avalon city was hit the hardest, shells blowing into skyscrapers and missiles pouring into the streets. The Junisarian ships continued bombarding the major cities and started shelling potential landing sites to keep them clear of Loyalist troops.
Admiral Indivatr reviews his fleet as it sails toward its destination- the port of Antioch. He looks around, taking stock of the ships and men under his command. The INS Relentless , the flagship of the fleet, a battleship of the Dreadnought class. Silently moving on either flank, slightly to the rear, are the cruisers INS Eclectic and INS Reticent . To the fore and the rear are six destroyers: the Indomitiable, the Clarion, the Extemporaneous, the Warhol, the Superior, and the Darkening. Two submarines, the Invisible and the Secretive ride beneath the waves. The pocket carrier, the INS Longarm, holds four squadrons of MiG 31 Foxhounds: the Warriors, the Hawks, the Peregrines, and the Ospreys. Various supply ships and troop transports also accompany the 7th Fleet.
Colonel Zilong, commander of the 122nd Marine Brigade, picks up the mike. He is a hard man, who clawed his way up to command because he was so good at it. The concept of gentlemanly conduct is foriegn to his nature. He prepares to address the four thousand marines under his command.
"Men! We are being shipped off to the coldest fking place on the planet! We are being sent because some dumb bastard thinks its a good idea to start killin people over some phoney deity! That stupid bastard has another thing coming! If its killing he wants, we will make sure that he is one dead mutha by the end of this! We are not here for fun; we are here to safeguard freedom, support the rightful regime, and kick some ass! Ok, maybe we are here for fun! Get your shit together; we land in five hours!"
Admiral Indivatr, a cultured man, allows himself a slight smile. He then turns to the serious job of getting the fleet to Antioch while avoiding enemy air and naval patrols.
"Captain. Please radio the Longarm with orders to launch air patrols. Remind all captains that we are inside Tundran waters. Please broadcast a message informing President Verian-Saiyoto and the Chairman of our position. Inform them both that our ETA is five hours. After this bulletin, inform all ships that we will be running silent. I will be in my stateroom should anything arise."
The captain salutes, and Indivatr slowly leaves the bridge.

High Judicature Mikial Zakrufs, Commander of Mikosolf Expiditionary Millitary Forces, walks along the cold stone corridor towards the Chairman's office. Within his grasp is a small note annoncing the uprising the in the state of Canadian Tundra, as well as reasons for going in and for going out.
It will be up to the Chairman to decide, there are +/- for both sides, learning new stratagies and oberving new weapons as well as testing our defenses and our combat readyness... (etc). However, the loss of life and capital is something to consider, but its up to her.
Reaching the large impossing door of the Chairman Zakrufs slowly pulls upon it revealing the luxurious office behind its cold metal door.
Walking up to the Chairman he hands her the memo, watching her lean back in her chair, reading the contemplating what to do. She puts it down and begins to write:

"Done," the Chairman exclaims, "Zakrufs, I want you to send this out personally, furthermore I want you to place the 1st Division (the elite elite) and the first army on alert if CT asks for assistance."
"Of course Chairman," Zakrufs responds, I just hope you are not putting us in a unprofitable situation...

The flight of C-135s heads into Canadian Tundra from an unexpected direction, headed towards a suitable landing strip.
"Well, we're really here to act more as peacekeepers than anything else, and help prevent genocide. We will try and seperate the sides as much as possible."
The C-135s find a reasonably flat patch of ground to land on, and, one by one, drop from the air and onto their heavily reinforced landing gear.

"Sir!"
Captain Hvordan of the Relentless stands at attention in the Admiral's stateroom. Indivatr had been working on some paperwork, and had fallen asleep at it. He starts at hearing the harsh call from the captain.
"----! Oh... I see... yes captain?"
"We have arrived outside of Antioch sir. They have not yet radioed us our orders. I have taken the liberty of ordering all ships into the harbor and requesting permission to allow our marines some ground time. They are currently getting used to the harsh conditions at a nearby barracks. Half of the crews on all ships were also given a four hour shore leave, and are now returning so that the other half can go out. We have not yet transmitted a formal offer to the Tundrans concerning the usage of our fleet. That is why I woke you, sir."
"Very well captain. Transmit this message here; I had not realized I slept so long. <<<He hands Hvordan a sheet of paper>>> Any news on further developments in the campaign?"
"Not yet sir. If you no longer need me sir?"
The admiral nods, and Hvordan leaves. As he walks to the bridge, he reads the message he will be sending to the President of Canadian Tundra.

I am at present awaiting your pleasure in the port city of Antioch, where we are integrating with your task force.

OOC: Kihameria, the true Junisarians are those who sided with the Junisarians at the onset of the civil war, they are actually of the Junisarian faith, there are six divisions of them, and their naval ships are basically all wiped out by the suicide run on the Hattian fleet. General Reed and his men are 5 divisions strong and were Loyalists until Hattia's aid was accepted, then they sided with the Junisarians on the condition that they are granted certain freedoms, such as freedom of religion.

Message:
Admiral Indivatr, I sadly cannot meet you as I am at present commanding the forces of Avalon, which, as you know, is under complete siege, and we are unable to break it. As for what you can do, I would suggest as much R&R as possible, in additon to combat drills and making sure you know as much as possible on naval warfare as the Loyalist navy is currently mustering at Antioch in preparation for an assault on the Junisarian navy. I cannot explain the immensity that this upcoming naval battle will have, current reports place Junisarian naval strength at roughly 100 true warships, and some 200 armed freighters and merchant ships. With our own navy being a little larger than that.
The Admiral throws down the letter in disgust.
"Bah! Three hundred ships? The sheer number of crewmen... they will be badly trained. They will be badly led. They will have almost no respect for the chain of command and their superiors. And they will face a larger navy, full of experienced sailors, AND our own elite forces. Still, they have a propensity for ramming..."
The admiral sits silent for a while, thinking of a solution to this problem... suddenly, inspiration strikes like a lightning bolt!
"Captain Hvordan! Get in here!"
The captain comes at a run
"Yes sir?!"
"Get me the Antioch port authority. Tell them that we are going to need four of their largest merchant ships. If they ask what for, tell them it is none of their buisness. Once you have them, make sure that they are rigged with explosives in such a way that they can be rapidly scuttled. I have a plan. Also, tell the President that I am submitting a formal request for the vanguard position for the Seventh Fleet."
Captain Hvordan nods. He has served under Indivatr for many years, and knows better than to ask his intentions. Still, even his usually stolid and stodgy mind is interested. What use could the Admiral have for these ships? He sighs and leaves, knowing that asking before the Admiral is willing to tell him will profit him nothing.
OOC/ The ships are within a harbor, right? Could I ask for the specific positions of them relative to the harbor before I make a total idiot of myself? And is this harbor larger than, say, Pearl Harbor? I thought of something cool based on that, but a little more suprising, and with no planes. You probably all already know what I am thinking of doing, but I will still not say it out directly, just to create a bit of suprise when it DOES happen. /OOC

Sir, in the name of his highness Izu no Miya, the government of Oshima and Izu wishes to make known its deepest sympathy for your nation's plight. As a gesture of solidarity from one lawful government to another, we hereby extend an invitation of support for your cause.
As our nation is still young, and regrettably incompletely equipped to fight a major war, I fear our contribution must initially remain small. However, I can authorise the recruitment of a volunteer unit to fight for the cause of law and order.
I await your response,

Subject: Request for vanguard position
Message:
Sadly, I feel I must refuse your request, while I have no doubt that your vessels are top of the line and your crews well trained, the Vanguard position has been assigned to the First Loyalist Naval Brigade, due to the fact that they have had much combat experience in this war, and that experience simply gives them an advantage of your own 7th fleet. I will gladly find your vessels a posting in the front of the main fleet if you wish to be in the middle of combat, but all major positions in the fleet's formation have been claimed.
The Junisarian fleet had pushed the Loyalist ships back into the Avalon city bay, giving them free reign to ready there landing ships for the assault. Many divisions were ready, including four of the five elite Divine Divisions.
The fleet bombarded the landing positions, and the landing ships started towards the beaches for their assault.

Admiral Brusilov looked out at the remnants of the sea battle. His battleship's huge guns had managed to protect herself, but not some of the other ships. The [i]Power of the Proletariat[/b], an escort carrier, foundered in the ice cold water, her crewmen jumping off of the doomed ship. She had been rammed by a destroyer and then a frigate. She had put up a good fight, turning her anti-aircraft guns on the enemy ships but to no avail. He had also lost 3 destroyers, 2 frigates, and 1 of the other battleships took a hit. "Hurry up and send out rescue boats!" The Commander of the Marines walked into the bridge, "Sir, we have taken the landing. But apparently Reed escaped before we could capture him." Brusilov sighed, he had really wanted to speak with Reed. "Any prisoners?" The Commander nodded, "Only a few, we caught them after they tried to kill themselves, but failed." "Commander, I wish to speak with them when they are ready." The Commander saluted, "Yes sir, I also have recommendations for medals sir. Commander Vladimirovich and his men stormed the bunkers that had pinned down our troops, only 5 of them plus Vladimirovich survived." Brusilov tapped his foot on the deck, he did this when he was thinking. "It seems appropriate that they should recieve the Order of the Red Star. Please have them sent to my ship."

Admiral Indivatr sighs... his request for the van rebuffed, his scheme for the transports killed by the hard hearts of Antioch Port Command, his men, not used to so much R&R were becoming restive and downright unhappy.
'Battle had best come soon,' he thought to himself,' or we will be defeated by our inactivity and boredom.'
Even he has become uneasy about the long wait before deployment, especially after the news that the Junisarians had managed to force the harbor of Avalon itself. He grumles to himself, and then goes back to his reading.

OOC-ok,so the true junisarians are just 6 divisions of land men, with really damaged ships,i will base my RP on that,so if i am wrong just lemme know and i will change my post.
ic- the Kihamerian fleet's radars and sonar were going crayz, the true junisarians were approaching, the battleships, frigates, and destroyers turned there guns towards the ships and prepared to fire, they manuvered to that any attacks would be on them and not the aircraft carriers or troop ships, the aircraft carriers were busy reloading the planes to launch an attack right then, but if the battle lasted just a short time they could laucnh a devastating air attack, the troops ships went on the oppisite side of the battleships as the true junisarians,as they were the only way to load the troops back on if they needed to get somewhere via water, the carriers were a distance away from the battleships,as they were probably the most valuble ships there, along with all the aircraft they would loose if they sank, the men on the ground got into the vheciles, they loaded up in the Humvee's,Challenger 2's,and the Paladin's,the manuvered into defenseive positions around the Paladins, the bulk of them being humvee's they were quick and agile, atop evrey one of them was a soldier with a Bazooka or other anti-armour weapon, and out the other windows were machine gun's,M-16's with the standard grenade attachment, most of the men were in vheciles but a very large portion were on foot, they looked for cover wherever they could find it as quickly as possible, evrey rock big enough to conceal someone, had someone concealed behind it,but a good number still were in the open, they got out there shovels and they satrted digging foxholes in the ground, surrounded by snow, they hoped to have them ready by the time that the true junisars were within firing range, and it looked like a good number would achive that goal, but the men still worked furiously.
OOC-if my info is correct,i will have them attack in my next post, because i dont want to look like a fool if i am mistaken.

"Ah, general. Your report please."
"The rightful president of the Canadian Tundra has accepted your offer of assistance; in addition he has agreed to provide arms for our volunteers."
"Very good. How goes the 'volunteering'?"
"Volunteers have been slow my lord... the search for mercenaries goes on even now my prince."
He broke off, noting the slight stiffening of the prince's mouth.
"You gave their president my word, general...am I to be disgraced?"
"If I have failed you lord-"
"That will not be necessary; at least not yet." The prince sighed. "I see we have few other options then. Until such time as we can assemble sufficient volunteers, we must make good our promises from other sources. It would not do to appear faithless. I trust we have at least one conscript unit ready to depart?"
The general swallowed. "The 1st BR Division can be embarked within 24 hours, lord."
"You have twelve, general."
"Yes, lord." Yubari bowed, but as he turned to leave the prince called after him.
"Oh, and general..."
"Lord?"
"You lead them."

The Junisarian landing craft were being devastated as they approached, Loyalist artillery and mortar fire bombarded them while machine guns and sniper rifles picked off a number of the soldiers in side. The first wave hit the beach and the chaos truly began.
Private Andrew Cooper fired his rifle endless into the approaching Junisarian troops as another battleship shell hit the trench, sending dozens of bodies flying. Machine guns rattled while rocket launchers spent small missiles flying into clusters of enemy soldiers. Arctic Wolf MBTs rolled past the trenches and bunkers backed by Arctic Foxes as they poured fire into the Junisarian troops.

The CTS Saiyoto lead the vast fleet of Loyalist and allied ships towards the bulk of the Junisarian navy. Three hundred warships and armed merchant ships awaited them, while an unknown number of submarines lay below the water.
The First Loyalist Naval Brigade was the first to enter firing range, instantly the Saiyoto's twelve 14 inch cannons opened fire, then the smaller cannons and the missile batteries. The enemy did the same while a vast force of aircraft from both sides entered into an immense dogfight.
The rest of the Loyalist fleet entered the battle, as submarines threw torpedoes at each other under the water, Battleships, frigates, cruisers, destroyers, and armed merchant craft duked it out across the sea. A dozen loyalist ships were sunk, a Junisarian battleship, burning brightly and starting to sink, crashed through a line of armed merchant craft, breaking apart three of them before the others scattered and poured 55mm and missile fire into the listing hulk.
A dozen sea lords broke away from the air battle and made for a cluster of Junisarian submarines that were surfacing and letting loose cruise missiles, the Sea Lords fired off their anti ship missiles which ripped into the vulnerable subs and sent five off them beneath the waves.
The two vast fleets lobbed more and more fire at each other as a full barrage of 14 inch cannon fire fell onto the flight deck of a Junisarian carrier. The cannons ripped through the decking setting off stockpiles of fuel and munitions. Smaller cannon fire ripped into the carrier's sides.
*****
*Aboard the Junisarian Carrier Upheaval*
Crewman Johanson worked furiously at the engine as he tried to keep the nuclear reactors under control, the twin reactors were reaching critical and were out of control. He looked over at Lieutenant Waterly who barked out an order, "Johanson! The safeties are offline! Get to the manual override and shut it down before it-" the lieutenants orders were cut short as the bulkhead beside was ripped apart under the impact of another cannon shell and the lieutenant was killed.
Johanson didn't need to think for even a second as he hopped down onto one of the lower catwalks and dashed for the stairs leading to the manual override, cursing whoever had designed the Junisar-forsaken engine room. Yet another shell crashed into the ship, blowing open the side and sending Johanson flying off the catwalk and crashing into part of the engine, killing him instantly.
*****
The Junisarian carrier that was under the guns of one of the Loyalist battleships shook violently for a split second before erupting into a furious nuclear explosion. The explosion instantly obliterated a number of frigates and cruisers around it, while it tore a nearby submarine apart.
The explosion had such immense force that it sent ripple like tidal wave all around it, the immense wave crashed into an Ice Storm class Battle carrier turning it onto its side then flipping it over entirely while its handful of remaining fighters simply fell into the water. The ship sank quickly, as did a number of other nearby craft.
A group of Junisarian battleships formed the spear of a flotilla about 50 ships strong as they cut through the Loyalist armada. Dozens of more ships were sent to the bottom of the ocean as a number of Junisarian warships turned and fled, setting a course mostly to Castamere, some to Iragia. The Junisarian navy was breaking apart.
"Captain Hvordan, is my ship ready?" the Admiral intoned, asking the traditional question.
"Admiral, the Relentless is fully prepared and at your command!"
"Thank you, Captain. How close are we to the battle?"
"We remain just outside of firing range sir. May I ask why?"
"I intend to keep the fleet in one piece. If the Tundrans do not need us, so much the better. The battle seems to be going well."
<<In the distance, a nuclear explosion occurs>>
"Captain?"
"That would be the Upheaval, sir."
"Aptly named. Captain, order the fleet to pursue those ships breaking through the lines there! Radio the Longarm; I want all fighters launched and after those ships! Navigation! Plot an intercept course! Order the Eclectic and the Reticent to launch cruise missles at the leading elements of that flotilla, and have our destroyer escort group begin harrassment. Also, order both submarines to target one of the battleships and move out. They are to maintain radio and radar silence. Tell them to fire only after the cruise missiles have hit and they are radioed to attack."
"Yes sir, Admiral."
The orders are swiftly carried out, with both fighters and cruise missiles launching swiftly, and all ships heading toward the intercept point.

12,096 infantry
36 APCs
15 MASH units
72 Arctic fox IFVs

*on the ground the Paladins opened fire,as did the MBT's when the enemy was in range, the Humvee's didnt have the firepower to reach as far as the Paladins, much less the MBT's (i am using Challenger MBT's),the infantry were mostly in quickly dug fox holes and braced themselves for the enemy attack.*
Suddenly, Indivatr recieved an order he did not expect. A telegram had just gone through demanding that he break off all major combat operations and steam home at full tilt. Apparently there was some sort of domestic disturbance he had to deal with.
"Damnit. All ships, withdraw from combat. We are returning home."
Without firing a shot, the entire Seventh Fleet began its course homeward. The admiral was furious, but there was little he could do. When he got home, there would be some explanations coming, and they had best come quick.

Nagamasa Yubari forced himself not to feel the cold, a futile act of stubborn defiance against the cold of these foreign shores. Standing in the lee of the deckhouse, he watched the lines of stunted humanity pouring off the merchant vessels, herded like cattle to the slaughter by cursing officers.

"What is it, Koichi?"
"Colonel Matsumoto's regiment is fully unloaded sir."
"And what of it? Orders have been given..."
The aide looked noticeably unhappy. "The colonel is unclear about the training programme..."
"Unclear. The manuals have not been distributed?"
"No sir, I mean, the translated versions have been issued to all filed officers."
"Then?"
"Few of them are familiar with these types of weapon, sir. The Tundrans have a different sense of war."
"I see. And this is Matsumoto-san's view?"
"The colonel was clear that he would do his duty."
"As will we all, lieutenant." He turned to completely face the younger man. "Do you see those creatures down there? They'll tear apart any man these foreigners can throw at us. But only if they can stay alive long enough to get within a sword's length of the foe. In these lands, they have a different way of war, and it will be hard for some of us to adapt. That is not our choice to agonise over; we have been sent by our prince to fight, and if that means we must first adapt then by the kami, will shall learn to fight like these Tundrans!"
"Is that what I should tell Colonel Matsumoto?"
Nagamasa was a long time in replying, but when he did, there was a powerful conviction in his voice.
"No, Koichi, no. I wish you to assemble all the unit commanders. I will make them see."

Where are the nearest Junsinian land forces? Coz' if someone can supply a naval escort, I can land my division and (hopefully) rip the seven hells out of the traitors! Let's start taking the fight to the enemy...

President Verian-Saiyoto viewed the destruction the Junisarian siege had left. Much of Avalon City was burning, but engineering and fire crews, both civilian and military, had managed to contain them for the most part. That still didn't help the thousands who had already been killed or left homeless or jobless by the fires. Many of the skyscrapers that once rose high into the sky were skeletal ruins. Holes left by 14 inch shells were visible all around the city, and entire residential zones were flattened. The shipyards had thankfully been spared, the small number of loyalist naval forces that had been defending Avalon had retreated into the bay and held the Junisarians out of range.
The ships that had been under construction at the shipyards were now finished, rigorous testing had been done, and they were ready for combat. A shakedown cruise would have been great, but the war wouldn't give time for that. The president's eyes drifted out past the beaches where Junisarian remnants were being hammered into submission, or they corpses piled into veritable mountains, and his eyes settled upon the ocean, where an armada of warships stood waiting for orders as more and more troopships were loaded with forces.
"Sir, the Spirit is ready for you" the navy captain reported as he came up to stand beside the president.
"Very well then Captain" the President said solemnly as they boarded the Ice Storm class Battlecarrier, Spirit of the North.
The spirit, with everyone now on board, moved out of port and took up its position within the fleet. Also in the fleet were a number of fellow Ice Storms, the Warrior of the North, the Lord of the North, the Fury of the North, and the Peril of the North. Along with these formidable warships were a large number of normal carriers, battleships, frigates, submarines, troopships, supply ships, cruisers, and destroyers. The large armada turned towards the Ontario province, and started moving through the water.

-the battle raged on between the Kihamerians and the true junisarians, but after a short time the junisarians appeared to be decimated at sea,the Kihamerian navy devastated the junisarian naval forces, barely floating the few remaining ships sailed away, but on the ground the badly outnumberd Kihamerians were only survivng do to air support from the carriers, but the defense didnt hold, the junisarians finnally breached the Kihamerian defensive line and rushed towards the SP gun divisions, they were defended by humvee's,but not much else, the Kihamerians strategicaly turned the breach into a trap as the remaining MBT's rushed towards the junisarians troops and opened fire devastating them, but the Kihamerian line couldnt hold much longer. on the sea the Kihamerian victory was short lived as they got a communication alerting them of the bad ground situation, all available ship were ordered to fire with anything they could, the aircraft carriers rushed to refuel and rearm the planes, the battleships proved there worth as they opened fire with HE(high-explosive) shells on the junisarians, the missile frigates aimed for the junisarians closer to the Kihamerian line with guided missiles,in a short time the junisarians had lost many men and started into a all or nothing final charge.-

Message:
General, your men shall be received, I trust they have familiarized themselves with our weapons (OOC: assuming their using our weapons). The assault shall commence immediately, and once more, thank you for your assistance.
The carriers of the Loyalist fleet launched the majority of their fighter wings. The Junisarians had thrown a meager naval force, primarily composed of armed merchant ships, which were sent to the bottom of the ocean without difficulty. Some minor damage on a handful of frigates was all that they had been able to do to the vastly superior Loyalist warships.
The battleships, frigates, destroyers, and cruisers of the fleet opened fire with their full armaments, saturating Junisarian positions with heavy fire. The Junisarians were devastated as wave after wave of Loyalist air forces punched holes into the Junisarian air defence network, and laid waste to the forces waiting upon the landing beaches.
While the bombardment commenced landing ships approached, the bombardment stopped suddenly and the landing ships unloaded their cargo. Thousands of infantry and light vehicles rolled up the devastated beaches, and annihalated the remnant Junisarians.
The Junisarian forces a little more inland, seeing their fellow forces annihalated, and the massacre of the Junisarian fleet at Avalon fresh in their minds, fell back to the nearby port.
Fire from the fleet raked the port, levelling houses, towers, factories, warehouses and stores. More landing ships unloaded troops on the beaches as the Loyalist troops pressed the assault. Moving north and inland, they secured a sizeable beachead and took the port. Troopships moved into the port and unloaded entire divisions of fresh troops while the forces already engaged, backed by the 14 inch cannons of the Loyalist battleships, and air regiments' worth of fighters, pressed towards the city of New Winnipeg, one of the largest cities in Western Ontario.
Four divisions of Loyalist troops stopped outside of New Winnipeg, where a Junisarian Divine division, and the other Junisarian forces were regrouping and preparing a new defense for the area.
Artillery units established their positions, and began pummeling the city. Junisarian air forces, shocked by the speed and ferocity of the assault, were driven back dozens of kilometers past the Junisarian ground lines.
General Peterson of the Thirty-fourth Arctic Fusiliers was given the task of taking New Winnipeg, and taking it fast. He looked over his troops, artillery and air forces were hammering the Junisarians, but with a divine division there, their lines would not break from the long ranged assault.
Peterson knew that that the Arctic Wolfs would have trouble in the urban enviroment, their 130mm cannons to long for the tight confines of urban warfare. Of course, the Junisarians had the same problem, and Peterson had a trick up his sleeve.
Peterson turned to Colonel White, the commander of an independent urban assault regiment attached to Peterson's command. "Colonel, roll out your toys" the General ordered.
Soon, dozens of flatbeds rolled up and away, ferrying over a full regiment of 108 brand new tanks developed and manufactured in Avalon. The tarps covering the vehicles were thrown off, revealing the metal monsters that waited to tear apart the Junisarians in the city. The vehicles were all Leapord CATs (Close Assault Tank).

http://www.sfu.ca/casr/fisher8-2.jpg
The assault forces, lead by the Leapord CATs rolled out, as four divisions worth of infantry and armour rolled in behind them and attack helicopters and aircraft provided air support. General Peterson also reported to the commander of the BR division that they were now free to commence their assault on New Winnipeg, either as part of the loyalist assault, or from a different section of the city where Junisarian forces would be lighter as troops were diverted to throw back the Loyalist assault.

The base had finally been completed...
The newly appointed Commander Vladimirovich stared at a map in his HQ. "We should begin to move inland and capture enemy held cities. Get the men ready..."
2 hours later...
The men had loaded into their transports. Vladimirovich looked out of the cupola of his T-90H, the cold arctic wind stung his face. "Visibility is low, this is going to be tough." He buttoned up and got on the radio

"Shireikan, our scouts report traitor forces moving to counter the 34th."
Yubari looked up from his charts.
"Where are they now. Show me..."
The officer pointed to the eastern edge of the city.
"They appear to be using the highway to the east to reinforce the front line...about here."
"That underpass will force their vehicles into a bottleneck,2 mused Yubari, avidly soaking in the details. "If we can get there." He tapped the table impatiently.
***
A squad of Junisarian infantry huddled against the barricades, hastily thrown up to offer some protection in case the enemy attempt to break through to the east of the city.
It had been quiet here, but already the air was filled with a riot of sound to the west, where the hated waves of Saiyoto's traitors were already breaking upon the rock of the true bellievers.
Why were they here, mused an officer. The fighting was obviously elsewhere. But his orders were clear; his battalion had to hold this sector in case the unbellievers tried to break into the city from a new direction...
***
General Yubari crouched low, his binnoculars fixed on the mass of humanity silently picking their way through the broken terrain. Just before the mass of skyscrapers erupted from the skyline, he could make out movement amidst the concrete- men scuttling along fortified lines, barricades of steel and timber thrown up to thwart the type of assault he had resolved to unleash.
Fortunately, the terrain was such that the full extent of the Oshima forces was concealed by a sudden rise in the land; at least, that was what he was counting on...

With our recent assault on Ontario, and the momentum of our forces, not to mention the decimation of the Junisarian fleet at Avalon, have prompted Junisarian forces in East Kellarin, Castamere, and Iragia to request cease fires. Our forces in West Kellarin are at high alert, and small naval battlegroups are waiting at Iragia and Castamere, but we are honouring these cease fires in an effort to stem some of the bloodshed. However, many smaller provinces are still under Junisarian control, some are Babylon, Narius, Aesir, and Irian.
The Loyalist forces continued their assault, as Junisarian tanks found themselves with turrets unable to turn to do tight confines, debris, and other obstabcles the short barreled 120mm mortars blasted away, then elevated, and provided light artillery support to other units. The 40mm GMGs filled buildings with fire, flushing out those who weren't killed, where the twin 50-cal PWS' mowed them down. Infantry, IFVs, and LAV 4s rolled in behind, supporting the advancing CATs. The Junisarians were putting up a good fight however, slowing the advance and causing as much damage as they could before falling.
"Roger that" Vladimirovich motioned to the driver, who turned the tank towards the provice of Babylon...

OOC: Um, one quick thing, I thought I mentioned this before but I guess not, all provinces of the Tundra are actually islands, so you cant just drive there. However, as of right now, most of the small provinces have very little if any naval defenses, generally just a handful of armed merchant ships.

Silently, four battalions of assault troops crept forward, their advance shielded by the ridgeline.
From the crest of the ridge it was perhaps some 200 m to the first building, and for that distance,
they would be at the mercy of the defenders fire.
General Yubari would ideally have mounted his forces in APCs, but they had precious few such vehicles,
and in any case, once within the built up area vehicles could end up more trouble than use. A preliminary artillery
barrage might have softened up the defenders, but it would also have alerted them to teh assault-something Yubari was keen to avoid.
Better to brave 200 m of fire to greet an enemy who momenst before had being looking the other way, than have to face
prepared soldiers with reinforcements already rushing to reinforce them. If his soldiers could just get to grips with the traitors, they would
be able to sweep into the lightly defended enemy flanks, perhaps drwaing heat away from the 34th. Having seen the way these people waged war,
Yubari had no illusions that such soldiers, reliant on their firepower, would be at a fatal disadvantage in close quarter fighting.
The units were lined up now, just below the crest. Mitsuko battalion took up the left flank, with Chigusa and Kiriyama battalions already formed up
in the centre; in the distance, Kawada battlion completed the line. Light glinted off a fleetingly bared blade somewhere in Chigusa battlion.
If they could just get close enough...

The Kihamerian ground forces came to a spot where they must cross the icy waters, they would have to wait for the LCAV's unless they wanted to swim, they got togather in a half-cirle position ot protect the Paladin SP units,a naval attack would be suicide with the Kihamerian fleet coming, and the half circle would protect from ground assaults, the Kihamerians didnt worry, they were well defended and the fact that any movments across snow would take time, the junisarians having jsut retreated could only launch small geurilla attacks,by the time they could orginize an offesnive the Kihamerians would be on the toehr side and headed for there location.

The city of New Winnipeg was burning brightly, the raging fires lit up the night sky as if it was daytime. Artillery shells filled the sky as they came crashing to the ground or into buildings, leaving gaping craters in roadways and office buildings. Columns of Arctic Fox IFVs and Leapord CATs rolled down the streets with escorts of infantry as they cleared buildings and Junisarian troops. Two thirds of the city was under their control, and they were advancing steadily.
Elsewhere in Ontario, near the city of Shadowport, entire divisions which had been shipped from Antioch drove outwards, shattering the Junisarian siege lines, and breaking out into the more lightly defended areas of Ontario. While multiple divisions rolled over the small outposts and firebases that housed small Junisarian garrisons through out the southeastern part of Ontario, other divisions, along with large numbers of Loyalist aircraft, surrounded the Junisarian siege forces and started picking them apart.
Along the western coast, newly landed Loyalist troops rolled south and north, securing towns and small cities along the way, encountering heavy resistance in some places, but managing to break through despite heavy losses. The Loyalist assault was continuing steadily, although losses were piling up.
The province of Castamere had seceded, forming their own nation, and Iragia and East Kellarin were following suit, but it resulted in less troops at the control of the Junisarians.

The Loyalist forces continued their bliztkrieg across the western parts of Ontario as division after division rolled over Junisarian forces. The Junisarians were starting to freely give ground, choosing to regroup and form stronger defensive positions rather than stand and fight against overwhelming Loyalist troops. The Junisarian moral was crushed, Ontario itself was being overrun, Castamere, Iragia, Kellarin had all abandoned them, the forces laying siege to Shadowport were being decimated, and the southeastern parts of Ontario falling quickly to the Loyalist troops pouring out of Shadowport.
Admiral Lexington ordered the Loyalist warships to circle the province, bombarding any Junisarian forces that came within range, while air forces skirmished on and off with Junisarian air units. Convoys of supply and troopships were coming in from Avalon, Antioch, and the smaller provinces, providing fresh troops and needed supplies of munitions and other equipment and supplies.

The nearby Arctic Wolf exploded as a 155mm fell right ontop of its turrets, sending burning debris in all directions. Kevin Verian-Saiyoto went diving behind a cluster of snow covered rocks for cover from the debris and enemy fire. He turned the side of the rock with his rifle in hand and let loose a barrage of fire at a group of Junisarian infantry that were trying to get around to the side of Kevin's main attack force. Two of the soldiers went down under the fire while the rest hit the ground for cover.
From up ahead, two large wooden boards flipped open, throwing a cloud of snow up in the air and revealing dugouts housing a pair of Arctic Wolfs which rolled up and fired their cannons. One round destroyed an Arctic Fox, and the other hit the middle of a cluster of infantry, sending bodies flying all directions. An A-74 Prosecutor slammed into the turret and severed part of the barrel at its base. The other Arctic Wolf went down as a Northman put three 76mm rounds into its turret.
Kevin signalled to his forces to charge and lead the attack, routing the Junisarian forces from the city outskirts and sending them fleeing across the frozen plain.
With the battle now over, Kevin leaned against the side of a ruined tank for a much needed break after the hours of fighting. He contacted the nearby command post to inform them of their victory, and that his troops would be advancing until they found out where the Junisarians were stopping to regroup. The command post updated the President's son of the status of the Loyalist invasion, which was claiming more ground with each passing day, and some newly trained troops, rather than being sent to strengthen the invasion force, were now being sent to retake smaller Junisarian controlled provinces.
