It is with great joy that I declare the creation of a new nation; The Empire of Kurisu. We are comprised of little over six million people, but our territory far exceeds the area we have populated.
The Empire of Kurisu's human population is almost matched by its population of canines. While some have commented on this, claiming that we are overrun, the Emperor has taught us how to live in symbiotic harmony with these wonderful creatures that roam much of the forest land in the northern half of our country. As such, they are a highly respected and vital part of our economy and have become our national animal. Truly, they are our best friends.
However, despite our optomistic outlook on our current situation, it appears as though the rest of the world is plunging itself into darkness. The Emperor has asked me to assess this issue and present what we consider to be a tiny beginning to the solution of this very large problem.
In these dark and troubled times, hostilities run high and there is much feuding between our nations. At the exponential speed with which technological warfare is being developed, wars are being fought and an increasing number of people are killed each year. Thus, the Emperor of Kurisu has decided to offer support to any and all recovering countries in the way of supplies (including food and building materials) and teams of 'Diplo-dogs', which are used to rescue men and women from various disaster scenes, sniff out mines and other such hazards, carry supplies, offer emotional support to grieving families, and aid in determining the number of casualties and deaths from these tradgedies. The Emperor hopes this will considerably shorten the time required for a country to recover and rebuild itself, as well as encourage such acts of peaceful support in the international world at large.
