At what altitudes will the Crag Climb and Ledge Climb be staged? Will any fixed positions be emplaced for tie-offs and belay positions?
Please advise.

The base of the Philipedes Range is at the meeting between them and the Mog Valley. This roughly translates that the altidude at which these two climbs of which you are speaking will begin at about sea-level, give or take about ten feet or so. Spot teams will be in place for belay positions, if so desired. There are already positions at which "tie-offs" can be placed, but many climbers prefer to belay down the ridge at first to place their own. This does not deduct from points, but participants will have to take a helicopter to the top of the ledge, and may have to belay from the helicopter to the team in place.

So... no oxygen needed, no pitons allowed?

Biography:
Real--The second son and third child of King Azi Crusade, Hamilton Crusade was known for his economic and financial genius, having by the age of ten through manipulations of the stock market earned US$100 billion. When he was twenty, King Azi died and Hamilton's elder brother, Lance Crusade ascended the throne. Lance began to overhaul the government, replacing the aging advisers of his father with newer, younger, and fresher minds. One of the new appointments was the appointment of Hamilton to the post of Finance Minister.
Fake (alias's)--Azakal Talon was an only child. During his youth he was extremely precocoius, spoiled by his parents. Taking an avid interest in hand-to-hand combat, Azakal became a skilled fighter of judo, karate, taekwondo, kung fu, jet kun do, etc... One day, when Azakal was eighteen, he became tired of his life and ran away from home and joined the 5CN Black Watch Guardsmen. When he turned twenty-two, Azakal took a new interest in flying, becoming a test pilot for 5CN's Crusade Aerospace Corporation.

Our local climbers club will sponsor one member to attend and compete. Details will be forthcoming once a candidate is chosen.

Nations of the World:

The competition shall consist of several events, those of which being:

Boulder
Wall
Ledge
Crag

The Bouldering Competition will be held first, and will be judged by non-partisan judges from other nations. Wall Climb will take place on a man-made, 100-foot wall, at ninety degrees, with the last fifteen feet at a slanted eighty-three degrees. The Ledge Climb will be basically a Crack-Climb, measuring up to 150-feet (Competitors are warned that this climb will be similar to the first 150-feet of El Capitan). The final, Crag Climb, will take place on Sooner Thread, the first 300-feet of the Southern Face of Diablo Paradiso.

Nations are permitted to enter only one climber for the entire event. Climbers are required to bring their own equipment, and it is advised, although not required, that each climber inform us of his/her equipment beforehand. To enter, each contestant must state:

Rewards go as follows:

1) Permission to attempt to ascent Mt. Ktoll, with a peak of 30,198ft, which has never been summitted before.

1) Cabin/Hut anywhere located in the Philipedes Mountain Range.

2) $350,000

Third:

1) UH-1 Littlebird Helicopter.

2) Any vehicle in the world, fully paid.

3) $150,000

Accomplishments: bouldered the Red Cliffs (50m) twice; won 1st place in Atoll Scouts rappelling contest the last 3 years in a row.

Profession: apprentice geologist/geophysicist

Highest Peak Summited: Gull Wing Mountain (elev 3.5 km) as part of Scouts team.

Brief Biography: Born in North Curve of the Grand Atoll, close to Gull Wing Mountain. Entered Junior Scouts age 8, learned climbing in scouts. Age 14, entered apprenticeship, North Curve University, under Dr. Jana Kirklund and Dr. Kenneth Starfield Kirklund. Also age 14 transitioned to Scouts. Attempted Red Cliffs climb, age 14. Climbed red cliffs age 15 and again age 16. Age 15 rescued trapped dog on mountainside while on geology field trip. Ages 14 - 16 won rappelling contest in scouts.

I am prepared and fully equipped for each phase of the contest. I have little experience in making the crag climb alone, and find it very daunting, but the vid shows of the others, particularly the crack climb, look super fun!

Nevertheless, you were correct, after a fashion. While 3.5 km is not unheard of in the world, it _is_ unheard of on the Grand Atoll. I asked Greta about it, and she simply made a typing error. Gull Wing Mountain rises 2.5km, or 2500m, above sea level. Vulcanism of the type that produced the Grand Atoll and the effects of erosion make a geological structure of this height quite unusual indeed. And as the highest point on the Grand Atoll, it is very impressive to us. :)

Brief Biography Augie had "Go climb a rock" tattooed on his hip when he was 10, with his father's permission. He began bouldering at the age of 6, and attempted his first solo ascent of Half Dome at the age of 12 before being arrested by Yosemite park rangers. He has mountaineered on all 7 continents, but is most happy when exploring technical routes anywhere he can find them. He is a pioneer of the slacklining technique.
