We have readied a section of our II Special Forces Corps. Once successful, more from the II Special Forces Corps will arrive. The 4th Paradrop Division consists of Special Forces and light tanks able to be deployed from air. After receiving the message from Unum Veritas' ambassador to the Legion of Defence requesting military aid in this conflict, the government moved quickly. Several right-wing senators in the Veritasean Senate called for an emergency meeting and even the High Chancellor attended, himself making the motion for military intervention in accordance with previously signed alliances with Exonerate, Nanakaland, and other Legion of Defence members. After a fiery debate between two rival parties regarding such action, the words of Senator Roland apparently made the difference:
"There comes a point in every nation's existence in which it must decide what it's government stands for. There are generally only three paths: those governments that are deemed evil and support the abuse of human liberties, those governments which are isolationist and care not for the woes of humanity in other nations, and those that stand for integrity and the defense of human rights. We have signed an alliance with these nations that have now been threatened with unjust and unprovocated terrorism. I ask you all now, to make the decision as to what sort of government Unum Veritas has. Shall we stand by our allies and defeat these cowards? Or shall we slink away and hide behind the oceanic masses separating us? Choose well, for your decision shall be marked by all future generations!

The final vote in the Senate was 40 pro-action to 35 anti. With this decision made, the High Chancellor ordered the Sixth Armada to divert it's course to the area of conflict and placed the carrier battle groups Mystere, and Ravendhi on a higher state of alert. The Sixth Armada's numbers are listed below and the ships should arrive within 2 NS days.

OOC- Anyone else get the feeling it would be in the best interests for GCON and ACORP to back down? Speaking of them, they aren't really posting. I really hope this doesn't end up like all of their other "wars" where they just whine and complain the whole time and ignore any legitimate attacks while making godmodding ones of their own.... :roll:

I also find it odd that they can stage a modern-tech attack and then whine about how they're future tech when they're retaliated against. Shame we can't ban poor RPers...

The Sixth Armada is now within striking distance of Vulcanus and has assumed a defensive position off the nation's coast (I'm assuming we're defending Vulcanus, right?). Combat air patrols have been doubled and a continuous convoy of supply ships (under heavy destroyer and frigate guard) is traveling from Unum Veritas to the armada on a regular basis. For the past several months crews have been running workup drills and are at a very high state of readiness. The Veritasean Ministry of Defence has turned tactical and strategic command of all Veritasean assets in the area over to Commodore White, a distinguished member of the Veritasean Imperial Navy. The use of a MOBO (Mobile Offshore Base of Operations, sort of like a floating city with an airfield capable of large bombers and other land-based aircraft, but still semi-modern tech) in this conflict has also been authorized by the Ministry and the individual modules are en route now. Once the MOBO is constructed, Commodore White shall transfer command and control to the base for the sake of centralization. It should also be known that MOBO's are not only a floating airfield, but also a troop barracks, systems integration unit, repair dock, and weapons platform for ASW, AUW, and AA weapons systems. Any allied nation will be welcome to base troops, craft, or other military aparatus aboard the MOBO for the ensuing defense of Vulcanus.

The Sixth Armada has increased it's alert level to it's highest state and will attack any craft deemed dangerous by the commanding officer of individual ships. Any neutral aircraft or vessel in the area should be advised that they are currently in a war zone and could be escorted away and/or fired upon. All allied craft should broadcast an IFF signal at all times. This shall be considered fair warning by the Veritasean government, however to further protect other nations' assets, a radio signal on an open channel shall repeatedly express the danger in entering into a 75 mile radius of the armada. Should any innocent craft be damaged because of a violation of this "bubble", the Veritasean government will hold the owners of the craft at fault and not the Unum Veritas military.
