DGNT hosting wargames, desires to test new ships performance

DGNT has recently begun a massive fleet expansion program, adding many new classess of fighters, corvettes and capital ships.
Up until recently, there were only three types of capital ships, the Justice, Millenia and Piledriver, these were well designed ships, and proved quite effective in the limited combat they saw, but DGNT felt the need for something a bit smaller (The Justice is a mile long) and decided that a need for cruisers and corvettes was a new priority.
Additionaly, DGNT added a few new weapons systems, including the Pinwheel missile, the Ripper and a new Anti-Boarding party defence system all of which are on the new ships and being phased into use on the old ones.

For details see:
http://com3.runboard.com/bnationstatesforum

DGNT asks for forces of no more than 50 large ships (cruisers, battleships, planet destroyers, etc.)

DGNT will be sending:
9 Justice destroyers
6 Millenia battleships
1 Piledriver planetbuster
3 Victory fleet carriers
5 Hive carriers
10 Rook heavy cruisers
15 Pax cruisers
1 Watcher command ship

Combat will take place in the Pax system, between the orbits of Pax I and Pax III, ships are specifacly forbiden from approaching Pax IV in combat status, if you do so planetary defence will respond. The distance between pax I and III is about the same as between Mercury and Mars.
Loacal info:
Pax is a stable white star, with sensor masking effects from outside the system, a curiouse light-bending effect which obscures planetary bodies from outside observation by most means. Gravity scans and a few forms of wave detection can penetrate the shroud, but for all intents and purposes, ships approach Pax blind, guided by a series of beacons which create 1 mile by 1 mile holes in the shroud, allowing for small entry and egress points without the risk of hitting anything.

In the interests of improving its military capabilities, the Democratic Republic of Gerentology requests permission to send an observer to the upcoming war games. We await your response.

An observer would be fine, would you be bringing your own ship or observing planetside? DGNT has some very nice luxury rooms.

I currently don't have any ships, so I was hoping that you might agree to allow my observer to watch from your flagship. Also, if this initial contact works out, I would consider leaving my observer in your nation as a military attache. With your permission?

Can I have some stats, please? Im going to hazard the guess that your fleet is mostly Homeworld based?

Gerentology, well, my flagship, the Piledriver class, has some pretty classified stuff on it.
A better observation point would be from planetside, a Skyhook platform with a sensor/telescrop attachment from Pax I, II, III or IV would have a quite nice view, or we could arrange a shuttle on the edge of the 'field'
As to the last part, sure, it would be fine,.
Oh, and if you want some ships...Ill sell some to you. Check:

Yes.

Actually, I don't have any simple way of listing stats yet. I just started using future tech on certain RPs. In fact, I usually spend very long posts discribing the capabilities of my space fleet in an incorperated way with the story. I need guidelines on what to list with my ships. I only have a working system of listing stats for modern tech.

My nation's population is just 16 million people, so I really don't have much of a military. What I'm working on doing right now is sending people out to take notes and initiate contact with other nations so that, once I'm large enough to be able to afford a decent military without crippling my economy, I will know people who I can go to to purchase equipment and/or production rights, and will know what to do with my military once I have it. The prospect of forming military and economic pacts to strengthen my country is also attractive.

For the Cliff's Notes version, my observer is going to have to hitch a ride to your country, because I have no way of getting myself into space.

Note the edit...BUMP

So, can I have a sort of estimation of a ships general capabilites Nanak, Drednaught and Destroyer are OK, but what is an Admiral ships 'role', is it a command ship, lightly armed but lots of comm and sensor equipment, or is it the 'traditional' kind of command ship, with lots and lots of guns and comm/sensor stuff?
31-01-2004, 04:13
Compared to Homeworld, an Admiral Ship is basically a command ship that looks like a carrier with missile launchers and an EMP cannon added on to it. It is the most expensive ship in the fleet, but not the best armed.

I will send my two active Bismarck Class Pocket Battleships, which are equipped with Experimental Armor, Power Plants, and other sensory technology and other advances for defense.

Their Ionic Titanium shall protect them and I will gladley see if I can test their might.

I hope their crews shall get a good lesson either for the best or for the better.

Ships involved:

NRSS New Bismarck
NRSS New Tirpitz

Ok, so I can take my forces down to:
3 Justice destroyers
2 Millenia battleships
1 Piledriver planetbuster
1 Victory fleet carriers
2 Hive carriers
2 Rook heavy cruiser
3 Pax cruisers
1 Watcher command ship

15 ships total

Anyway...a Pax cruiser is probably only a little more powerful than an Assault Frigate. It has (if I remember right) more guns, but not as powerful, and it carries a few fighters.

Ummm...I was talking about this kind of ship:

That is a Piledriver...BTW.

A shuttle would be fine for observation purposes. As far as ships go, the only thing I would like to request is the loan of a Spotter-class command ship, to oversee the international military training facility that I am founding. I would quite happily accept the removal of all offensive armaments, as there would be no need for them. I look forward to future dealings with your nation

One spotter, lesse.
Normaly G250,000,000,000
How about 100,000,000 a year (RL day) until its payed off? Your last payment would be taken down to the remainder.
As to the armaments, you can have 'em, ships need guns, mostly just for large bodies of rock that are in bad spots at bad times, as well as the occasional scuffle with malevolent A.I.

[OOC: It took me almost all day, but I finally created stats on my ships. Click here (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2673945#2673945) and look at the post intitled "stats."]

Ohhhhk, well.
I suppose I will be cutting out the Piledriver...
1 Victory fleet carrier
2 Hive carriers
2 Rook heavy cruiser
3 Pax cruiser
1 Watcher sensor ship

Or, if you wanted, you could bring some allies in.

OOC: Nice storefront though, I like the pics. I would suggest changing the stats, since Homeworld ships are lightly armed for the sake of processing speed, if the most powerful ship in your fleet has 7 guns and four missile launchers its in trouble...but thats just me
