Statement for the Tahmiren Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

To the most honorable delegates of the international community, the government and people of Tahmiren sends their warmest greetings to you all. Times come and go, and friendship is formed during the process..It is, as agreed upon by all within our government, that Tahmiren now takes its chance and extend the arm of cooperation and comradeship to the global community. We look beyond establishment of embassies, of economic contracts, or of military assistance, we look instead on the building of trust between the Tahmirenian people and the citizens of the our neighbors and those of the world. We, the Tahmirenian government, do hope that other nations are equally willing to build relations with us.

OOC Comment: I've been writing up my NS factbook as well as reading around the rules and past posts for any help but am still looking on help primarily in military organization (such as reasonable budget and personnel numbers, this including non-combative support) and the economy (basically how certain nations could determine their GDP and their per capitas and such.) I have experience in RP but just need some help in organizing this first. Hope to have good relations will most of you all around.

OOC: Good evening to you, Tahmiren. I'd be more than happy to help you. Unfortunately, I've been more or less fudging my military for a while now, and have lost the GDP calculator. No bother, I'm sure someone can provide it.

As for military organization, it's often best to take a current military and copy it, more or less unit for unit. The US military is the most simple, although a new country might do well to simplify the units.

(i.e. Only one "Army" roughly the size of a Corps)

As for units, you'll want to stick to Vietnam era to Reagan era technology at first. Primarily, because it's cheaper, and secondly, becuase other nations will wonder how your nation came to have expensive planes without prior research. If you can afford to buy them form another nation, well go for it then.

You also would not be advised to develope a large nuclear program, as larger nations tend to ignore anyone below 200 million population that claims to have nukes.

IC: Kelly Jarnicki, Prime Minister of Manarth: What's this? A letter from a new government? Tahmiren, eh?

Why not send a diplomat or two to talk to their leader. Hmm... Military assistance... I suppose a small gift couldn't hurt either. Give them a little something for their elite units to play with.

::She begins writing an executive order::

::2 hours later, Embassador Paul Chiam has been dispatched, along with a gift of 100 Manarth manufatured OICWs (next generation rifles)::

OOC: Check out "Role Playing University" , you'll find the URL and a nice link on the Gameplay thread, it's got most of the answers you're looking for, condensed into a fairly small package.
