War in Kazakhstania

Kazakhstania
27-01-2004, 18:27
That is right. There are, indeed, rebels in the west of Kazakhstania. These rebels have taken approximately quarter of the country, and are holding the main dock city of Atryau.

These rebels are well equipped, with the latest weaponry and some armoured vehicles. These vehicles and men have pushed our unprepared forces out of the city, in a surprise attack.

They had been gathering in the mountains, and have recently attacked with limited air cover, in the form of several upgraded F-5's with large missiles and A-10's.

We are currently assembling a force to take the city back. More news shall come as it happens.

-----------------------------------------------

*Atryau*

The rebels had come, swiftly at night. The first the army in the town new, shells had began to fall. Then, the tanks rolled in, followed by soldiers.

The garrison were quickly overwhelmed. Nothing moved until the dead of morning, when the rebels were digging in.

M1 tanks roamed the streets and men looted and stole. There was limited resistance, but it was mainly just farmers with bolt actions. The docks still hold, but their garrison will not stand for long.

Our hot drop into enemy territory may be a small help if any but we plan to be the straw that broke the rebel camels back :-)

*Atryau - Dockland*

Small arms fire echoed across the water. The troops in the docks were holding fiercly. They, indeed were not meant to hold the docks, but rather wit for evacuation. They fired at the rebels as they came up the docks, but it would be no use. theya ll ready had the carrier.

Tanks had been firing at them, wittlign down their numbers. There were just over 200 holding the docks, well armed and supplied. But they coudl quickly be overrun, especially if the mortars kept coming.

*30 miles away*

"This is squack, please report charlie over nest."

"Roger, charlie is in the nest. Do your stuff, squack"

"Fly like a bird" the pilot added wittily.

"Yeh yeh...wait. Three F-5's, to your 2 squack. Break and engage. Fire."

"Roger, they will fall like eggs."

"Shut up, squack."

The F-42 and her two wingmen broke, and each fired two AA-3G missiles at the targets, vectored by the KN-12 AWAC's. The missiles could be guided by its radar from where the F-42's couldnt see, 260km away.

The six missiles closed on the fighters, which were trying to find and engage the enemy. They could not however see, and they each went down hard, withut seeing what had hit them. One ejected, but his parachute failed to open.

The five A-15's being escorted closed easily, the air cover for the city gone. Anything else would be gone in seconds. As they closed to 15km, they lit off two HARM missiles at the SAM's on the ground, before firing 4 Maverick II's each.

They then closed to strafe, before pulling up and dropping bombs. One got nailed by an AA cannon, a Vulcan on an M113. They all then returned home.

*in an undisclosed location a few miles from Atryau the men of the 1st UCD go through final preparations before disembarking at Atryau's port, to aid the Kazakhstanian soldiers there, and eventually, along with the forces of Nodea Rudav, to drive the rebels from the city.*

The small carrier ARNF "Vengence" and her support ships located miles from Atryau are continuing operations under kazakhstanian command, however a modified An-225 is beginning to conduct round trips between the atheists reality and kazakhstania carring large amounts of supplies, both medical and military.

IC:

The fat birds reached Kazakhstania @ 0130hrs local time for a silent incursion. It was planed to deliver 3 teams of twenty men for some wet work, but some where it went arwy.

2 f-5's enroute to the dockland area stumbled across the choppers (3 chinooks with some light modifications for weapons) it was wholly destrucitve. The chinooks didn't even realize they had company until one of them exploded in a hail of machine gunfire. The 20 men who made it on the ground scrambled in all directions to avoid the swirling fireball that had been their comrade in arms transport. The f-5 came about in a wide counter clockwise bank to strafe the 2 remaining chinooks. Commander Carter shout orders for the rpg men to get into the trees while radioing a course of escape to the chinooks. The birds began their bee line out of hostile territory when their cockpits began to scream warnings of missile lock The rpg's flashed and their rockets roared as the fire by wire missiles rushed toward the oncoming enemy. One plane was incinerated by a direct hit the other was downed by a proxy det.

Carter watched as the 2 remaining chinooks raced off. Speaking with the pilot on radio he learned that the enemy fighters did not send any transmissons. Turning to face the painted and masked faces of his men he spoke queit yet forcefully. "We need to hunt down that pilot before he reports and we need to carry on with the misson. The pilot is the priority so we all will fo for him understood? Now, Gentlemen welcome to the Kazakhstanian theatre."

ooc: I figure since these are rebels and not your stuff you wouldn't mind the slight god modding but I like to think that 14 men and a chinook = 1 man and 2 f-5s. But I will need to talk to you ooc for the next posts so how can I speak with you?

OOC:

Sure EP. No problem, two F-5's are no problem.

IC:

On the docks, things were getting tight. An AH-64 had floated over them the night before, and killed a hell of a lot of men. It also disabled all the remaining vehicles on the dockland.

The naval force off shore wouldnt be there for a while, and evac's would be needed. No-one knew when they would come.

All night, the troops had been popping tanks with their RPG's, but the numbers were huge. They had heard jets earlier and got their hopes up, but qickly realised it was just a bombing mission.

Later, after holding the docks during a particularly fierce attack and only losing two men, they heard the crack of rotors over the water. Some troops near the water wipped out their Igla SAM's, but were out of range.

Quickly, they however gained lock...on two Mi-38 prototype helicopters.

"What the hell!!??"

"Picks up" grinned their officer.

The two helicopters came in low over the water, before landing on the concrete space. They sat while men leaped on. When it was full to almost 120 soldiers, it took off and headed back over the water.

The other was still filling when an A-10 came overhead. It dived and opened up with its cannon. Men ran from the helicpter but few escaped the exploding helicopter. In the wreckage, 23 had perished. The soldiers with the Igla's however took out the A-10.

"Die bastard!!"

107 men still awaited extraction, and were losing hope.

Meanwhile, the CH-47's over the other side of the city vanished did their work.

*30 miles east of Atryau*

"This is Watch Lead, the air is clear. No dancers, over."

"Roger, beginning attack run."

Twelve KN-12 Cargo Aircraft flew several thousand feet up. Theyw ere travelling on full cargo, some over legal limits. They headed for Atryau, and were getting there fast. It was dark, and they showed no lights. After a while, they reached drop point.

"One minute!"

"Ok."

The aircraft flew over a great expanse of fields called "The Meadows". Their great rear doors opened, and the side doors were opened too.

"Go go go!!"

Each aircraft began dropping their troops and vehicles. Several were Gunships, loaded with guns. They conitnues, flying over the city. With them were twelve A-15 Attackers and several F-42's. Miles behind, some F/A-41's provided air cover.

The troops fell into decent, Anti Aircraft Tracers zooming into the sky. Fortunately, most of it was unaccurate. The cargoes turned around and headed back home. The gunships over the city started pounding the rebels, with cannons, guns and even small arms fire. One however was downed by an Anti Aircraft Gun, plowing into the sea off the docks.

The A-15's bombed the rebels, and strafed them for a full half hour before returning home. The troops on the ground settled in and prepared to attack.

Off shore, the Iowa Battleship dispatched by the foreingers opened fire, having been given vectors via the groudn troops. The city was being pounded, but the fire was laser accurate.

The rebels sat in their entrenchmetns, waiting. They had heard the planes the night before, but did not yet know of the paratroops. Many had been killed by the Gunships the night before, and those left were in fear of another wave.

Unbeknown to them, miles to the East the whole Army, made up of over 10,000 vehicles and 150,000 men, approached the city.

Back at the Airbase for the conflict, a wave of over 60 aircraft were preparing to move in over the city. Air cover would be present non stop through the conflict. The dragon was awakened.

ooc: Sorry got distracted w/real life
ic: The hunt for the remaining pilot had been simple. It was only a single man with an injuried leg, he could not run far. His interagation was quick and merciless and the target was aquired, the persice location of the airfield the rebels were working from.
"Excellent, now slight his throat." The corparl grimaxed at Carter's order but did it unquestioningly, he couldn't have any survivours around for this mission. He ordered flanking positions to be taken by the sniper at every 60 degrees and ordered the remaining 14 to march sillently west.
ooc: A map would be really helpful but I'm gonna assume plains since that's what is to the east of the city.
IC:
Carter knew there was alot riding on this misson, not so much the victory in the theatre as his team's performance. This being the 1st foriegn deployment of force since the birth of the Commonwealth had alot of strings attached, if the shit hit the fan here he was glad they had no ensignias on them so this couldn't be traced back to his government.
It was getting to be early morning when they came apon the airfield. Nestled in the foot hills of the mountains at the edge of the plains, with a few mechinized infantry divisons a full batalion of tanks and swarms of men this was not an easy target.
"She-it" Carter plussed chewing on a stalk of grass. Watching the activity before him unnoticed he began to formulate a plan. He would call positions down to the foriegn navy off the coast off this area. There were only two hitches to hi plan. 1) The foriegners had to actually bombard or bomb the co-ordinates 2) They would have to disable the comms tower on the airfield as the second they realized there were local ground transmissons they'd toss up static and then his transmissons would be cut off.
Carter order 3 of his men to approach the field stealthily, he watched as they dropped flat to their bellied moving through the long grass using their feet to fix their disturbances behind them, it'd be no good to have a trail from no where to nowhere like a big arrow that says sniper here now would it?
The remaining 17 men split into 2 groups with 8 going towards the end of the runway with instructions to set up mortars, the other team went with him in a clockwise rotaion around the airfield to the foot hills. Carter set up a few more teams to over look the field from there. Now the hard part,... I have to get my team into the comms tower with out putting my finger in the hornets net he though to himself.
The 4 remaining men and carter crawled slowly toward the airfield taking static ques from the lookouts over the radio. He wished they could just talk but that'd possibly be picked up by the tower, so morse code in the form of static would have to suffice. Crawling ever closer he thought to himself, I always hoped I'd get to see if those Hattian instructors knew what they were talking about, he had always harumphed at the government's decison to train the spec ops through foriegn means but it seemed to be paying off, so far this was going flawless.
Once they got to the chainlink fence Carter signaled for snips and two of the team went to work with wire cutters. The radio staticed in his ear, everyone stopped, that was the signal for tango down. Looking around for a disturbance Carter looked up and say a limp frame hanging against the railing on the tower 3 floors above him. The 2 men continued queitly cutting the fence and when they were done bent it a bit to allow passage. The men all droped into the grass bending the fence back, Carter drew his silenced p-99 and waited. He heard the patrol round from around the corner of the tower where he couldn't see. He prayed there wouldn't be too many. They rounded the corner and the second the last man had made that 90 turn and was out of view from the main base Carter stood aiming for the lead man. The fence sparked and squeaked as the bullet grazed a chainlink wire, the other 4 patrolmen droped dead from percise sniper fire.
A moment later the bodies were hidden in the grass, they were through the fence and the only traces of their entance were the large gore splatters on the wall, side effect of a high powered rifle's exit wound it cound't be help Carter thought to him self. Now for the interesting part. Using a mirror to peer around the corner of the grey building Carter looked for the next nearest building. At 300m it would be an interesting run to say the least. Carter taking hold of his radio turned it to active for a moment and spoke quickly before turning it passive again. "Alpha a-go" No sooner had he finished when he heard the booms of mortars from the end of the runway. One of the mech divisons took a direct hit and the pilot died instantly in the fireball. A nearby infantry jumped in and began to barrel towards the source of the fire. His charge was stopped short by am rpg coliding with him. The vehicle rolled to it's side and her was thrown against the ground with a sickening thud. Carter's team ran to the nearest building the snipers giving them cover, most were to preoccupied with the mortar fire to notice. The rebel tank turned it's massive cannon to the source of the mortar fire and with a shot the mortar fire stopped.
Carter couldn't be bother with the possible lossses at this time he had a radio to destroy. His team moved through the terminal stealthily with only the whines of their silenced mp30's to be heard. At the radio room there was a brief fire fight in whicj Carter's team qucikly dispatched the rebels. The team stood point while a det pack was set to a 30 second timer. Carter's team rushed from the building into what had become a firefight across the blacktop with rebels fire helter skelter into the terrain in an attempt kill his men.
No one paid him much mind and anyone who did was dispatched by a sniper Looking over his shoulder it looked like the tank just got rpged he couldn't really tell because as the det pack went off the napalm based incinarary lept from the tower windows and consumed most of the immediate area. Carter could already hear the radio alive with the request for bombardment, now he just had to hope, regroup and tend to his men.

"Well boys you heard our marching orders lets get to getting,... tonight we take a for now, shifts of 3 hours 2 men up 16 down." OOC: Woo. Triple post

IC:

That night, a second wave of paratroopers came over. They landed yet another 1,200 Elite Troops and some 40 tanks. The paratroopers would assault the coming day, on the South side of the city.

But, that very night, 1st Army began their attack. Over 500 artillery pieces and MLR System's fired over 10,000 shells and 200 rockets at the enemy, taking out tank after tank. Dead rebels lay in the street.

The tanks of 1st Army numbering over 3,000 rolled down to the city. As rebel tanks rolled out, they were taken out by the allied tanks. Spearheading the way were 100 T-7 Giglamesh Battle Tanks. Anything that rolled out the city their way got a nasty surprise in the form of 155mm shells from the tanks. Eventually, the tanks held up a position to assault the city when light came. Their losses were under 10 tanks.

A small paratrooper platoon of about 500 men and 30 tanks assaulted the airport. They fired mortars at the parked planes and troops, before attacking. As they rolled, any tanks that were sat got taken out by the M-15's, but one got taken out. Eventually the airport was recaptured, and the rest of the paratroopers moved to it.

Overhead, A-15 aircraft attacked the troops defending the city ruthlessly. With no air cover, helicopters of the 1st Army could fully shell the troops on the ground. They reaked havoc with the rebels.

In the docks, the final 60 troops were picked up by the same Mi-38 as two nights before, without opposition. The docks were unfortunately given up, but six of Kazakhstania's Finest Troops were left behind....

General Derimov looked at the city in the distance with contempt, looking through his binoculars, he saw ruins, fires and edivance of brutal street fighting. He glowered there on top of the leading T-72 thinking his next move.

"Korpral, tell the convoy to stop here, we'll stop here an organize an assault in a few hours."

With that, tank where hidden in the foilage, hundreds of men started piling out of the long line of trucks armed with Kaliskinovs and Rocket Propelled Grenades.

In a few hours, the Noviastanian assault to assist the rebels was going to begin from a secluded grove of trees a few miles from the city.

An A-15 slid over the city, at the dead on night, with full IR sensors on.

While turning, it slid over the country.

"This is blue, going north 2 clicks. Doing a C scan, over."

"Roger, permission given."

As the A-15 headed over the country, its IR sensors picked up the huge number of Tanks and Men below.

"Holy SH....!! This is blue, huge numbers of eneym, transmitting via JTIDS. Permission to engage, calling on fire support."

The single A-15 turned and dropped its full load of 18 250lb bombs, enough to destroy over 200 tanks.

Across the city, the artillery units of the main Army opened fire on the tanks of the enemy, shelling them with over 1,500 shells.

Ten Ka-58's slid over, and each fired 48 ATGM's each. Each ATGM could take out a T-72 on its own.

Three A-15's over the city swung round and dropped 18 250lb bombs each.

Another single A-15 flies over the rebel troops.

It flies high, before dropping its load.

A single 6,000lb mega bomb is dropped, Laser Guided.

It drops to its target, before making an explosion only second to that of a MOAB.

ooc: OKay first off I'd like to say I love nations with genouros foriegn aid programs (if your wondering where I got these pretty millatary gadets)

ICC: Carter Smiled the hike into the mountain had been uneventful. The managed to enter the mountain ranges un spotted with only and extra 2 days taken to avoid the patrols. Carter didn't mind losing the 2 days it allowed him to radio in troops movements, it did however disturb him that some of the divisons he spotted en route to the city were foreign nationals. No matter he had a job to do. The rebel base was quite easy to find really. They simple follow the line of men.

The base it'self was a complicated looking afair with halftracks AA guns and 3 sam sites. It was surrunded on 2 sides by the mt range and it looked as if the rebels were putting the funishing touched on a tarmac.
"Hmm must be expecting air reinforcements, this could be our ticket in country, they are putting most of their forces else where we could commit to this airfield."

45 mins later Carter had radioed back and spoke with Mil com his plan was a go, the empassioned peoples would be sending a recognized presence if this misson was successful. He and his men took some comfort in knowing that the men they had lost so far would not be dissavowed for the interests of national security. His men moved into position with only 18 men this would be a tight operation.

Elsewhere 1100 A-10 Thunderbolts, 50 apaches and a cessna were scrambled for undisclosed locations from Empassioned Peoples airbases. The Cessna itself had 15,000 troops on it. There was a public out cry from the medias of the country as to why the entire armed forces were secertly mobilized They were meet with a non-chalant "No comment" from a low level page at the capital
01-02-2004, 11:00
ooc: I waited 1 hr real time so it seems plasuable for an air raid now :-D

icc:

Over Dockland 800 A-10's approach.

They had come in low and unffettered. They hadn't expected any problems with local air superiority acheived but they'd come low any way, better safe then dead. The planes began to rise, the sound level at the docks was deafing.
"Spotter one to wing copy;"
799 times the word copy was head over the radio waves, and yes it was counted.
"It looks like all allied troops have vacated the dock area and it is now under enemy control, I reapeat the dock is hot"
"Wing this is wing command new orders you will engage a single straffing run with dumbfire missiles, no worries no friendlies to hit. I repeat scorch the docks."

The attack wing began to rise releasing the dumbfires as it went the first few went shy and the water threw it's self into the air. The missiles rained into the docks from one end to the other with no piece untouched by explosion or shrapnel. The ware houses, or what few were left, were towering spires of inferno.

"This is wing command squad leaders confirm 30 000 ft."
"Alpha confirmed"
"Bravo confirmed"
"Charlie confirmed"
"Delta confirmed"
"Echo confirmed"
"Foxtrot confirmed"
"Golf confirmed"
"Hotel confirmed"

"Wing we have reports of un-known hostile forces in the forests you are ordered for sustained bombing run, I repeat carpet bomb"

"Repeat please sir"
"Listen boys don't question me here it's simple, everyone but hotel file up wing to wing with 20 m gaps, open your bombing bays and drop the cluster napalm bombs."
ooc: bombing run carries a 1 km spread long wing span of an a-10 is 17.5 (1/2 for 1 wing) 8.75 m + 20m = bombs hitting 28.75 m apart at a widith of ([800 planes less 100 because hotel is not involved] 700* 28.75m= 6.125km which mean I'm napalming an area of 6.125km^2 to make sure I get the noviastan army. btw I'd like to thank the bigger guys, you know who you are for giving me forign aid and no mandate on where to spend it.)
IC:
"B b b b ut,... Yessir, Charlie 76 forming up"
"Wing Command to Hotel you will support Kazakhstanian ground forces. You are authorized to use full arsenal."
"Hotel Leader Copies."

With that 700 planes begn droping napalm in the general vicinity of the Noviastanian forces, not really aiming at anything just burning more than 6 square km off the face of the earth. They then continued west at 30 000 ft engaging armour with maverick missiles as they encountered it.

Hotel stayed behind and support their alllies ground forces. At first it was select, controled and refined. But as the battle war on many a rebel hole could be seen light up by a nalpalm induced frenzy of hellfire.

*Back in the mountains*

Carter had been waiting in the same postion for hours, prone, viewing the base through the lens of the rifle. He had been maintaining his breathing and clenching and unclenching his muscles to try and stay ready. The Rebels had finished the airstip long ago and now he was wondering if rebel reinforcements would come before his.

When the radio finally did crackle he nearly jumped out of his skin, nearly.

"This is rebel buster 1 how are you carter?"
"This is Carter what's your eta?"
"We are a go. Repeat eta is now"

Carter couldn't hear the air support but he supposed that was the whole point

"This is Carter to team take your target when you hear the rpgs fire"

Carter scaned the base quickly one last time.

"Rebel buster you are clear for a peak"
Carter watched the tip of the mountain range carefully, he wondered if he could see it, he couldn't. Clicking the light amp on his scope he looked again, yep a small rectangle moved into position at the top of the mountain range.

"RPG go" Carter whispered. No soon had he taken his finger of his headset did he hear the familiar sound of 2 launchers firing. Carter looked through the sight on his scope His target was looking at the burning SAMs bewildered and *the rifle whined it's silenced whine* dead. He heard another whine in the darkness and he saw other men drop dead. Where is my other man? Ahh. Carter took aim of the pilot of the AA gunn. No sooner had his taget slumped in his seat did he hear chopper blades. Looking behind him he saw appaches lifting from behind their mountian cover. Carter watched as hellfire class mini missiles littered the base. The flak tracks were the 2nd target, then tanks, then hangers. By the time the hanger were recieveing fire there were more Apache fireing at everything then Carter could count. (ooc: 30) This display of fire power made his heart swell with pride for his nation, while at the same time he felt giddy and tingle.

"Assault the tower!!!!" Carter screamed into the radio. Every team member ran full tilt to the Tower of the new runway. Carter checked the time as he ran
"Come on we're cutting it close!"
Men came out of the tower at Carter's team, they didn't even flinch having full confidence in their air support. The wall around the door frame disentagrated in a hail of caa (computer assisted aiming) 33mm builts. Carter droped the sniped and hauled out his mp30. Switching to fully automatic he began to run up the stairs immediatly inside the door, His team dispatching the men as he breached doors.

When he got to to level Carter breached the door and was forced back by a hal of gun fire.
"Fuck we don't have time for this" Cater muttered
"We need the tower control machine gunned" he radioed to the apaches.
"Aim high we need the airport controls. He turned to his men,
"Duck"
The bullets tore through the glass and flimsy dry wall. The control tower was cleared.

ooc: continued in a sec need to restart my fucktard of a comp

of all it's interior walls.
"Flash bang it" Carter Yelled. 2 of his men were quick to respond and 2 flashbangs rolled in.
"Knives we are not hitting that computer shit." Carter said drawing his combat knife. With 2 fluid strides he was next to one of rebels, another swift motion and the rebel was left gurgiling and clutching.
"Comms get over her, Get this shit working we gotta signal the Cessna."

The Appache fire had all but died down as the young officer worked.

*elsewhere in the mountains*

The remain Apaches had done a wide sweep patern engaging patrols and accurately mapping the area, there was no way you could get anything more then a platoon through here was the consensus of the pilots as the returned to the Air field.

*earlier west of the airfield in question*

"Burn it" was the order as the 200 A-10's napalmed the empty mountain pass making it a massive flow of molten rock and unextinguishabele fire, for a day or so at least. The A-10's then began a slow trek up the pass bombing the rock walls and collapsing the mountain down in on it's self.

As breakfast time approached all aircraft began to to the newly captured airfield. When the last aircraft touched down an exhausted carter spoke.

"Unload the Cessna get the AA guns and other defenses set up, start work on another strip of tarmac, send word to the party leader and send word to our allies, we've successfully flanked the enemy"

As the troops where mining the only land entrance to the airfield the party leader made an offical announcement.

"Citizens of The Commonwealth of Empassioned Peoples I great you with good news. Today our glorious forces are vicotrious. Yes that's right we had a victory. Last night in an effort to help support the legitimate government of Kazahastania we successfully took and the mountain region of enemy territories. We are commiting our armed forces because this rebellion needs to be put down because it is dangerous and bloody. We will keep you appraise but in the mean time I'd like you to view this video clip of a very fortuneous battle with a squadron of our appache class attack copters."

A cessna with 15,000 people is way over the top.

You'd need over 100 planes to deliver them

And all those A-10's....please cut down the numbers :)
01-02-2004, 11:49
ooc: you can fit that many ppl in a cessna the same way to fit ppl in a tokyo subway station. hmm lets see. 5,000 better?

And as for the planes if people give me money i.e. cav and hattia and people have hardware to sell i.e. caldonia then I get to use it. If it makes you feel better I can't logistically supply all those planes from one base and will have to send a good majority home. The next session of rp for me was me coping with a hungery army short on ammo. My country doesn't have the industry to bomb that much all at once and go again, I know what I'm doing.

I'm on location in Kazakhstania and i am talking to you from the city of Atryu, where rebel forces are attempting to throw off the, leadership, Atryu is the larget port in the whole of Kazakhstania, and this could cause the Kazakhstanian economy to suffer, so far the Kazakhstanian response has been it's signature Shock and Awe, with many airstriks and little ground attacks, it appears to me that the rebels are digging their way into the rubble.. even children are getting involved...

Carter's Jaw dropped he couldn't believe what he was hearing, he tried to open his mouth to convey some disbelief
"Waa?"
That didn't work. He tried again.
"May I speak Candidly sir?" The fat General looked Carter up and down appraising him.
"Go ahead Carter."
"Thank you sir,.... What the hell is this? Your packing up the planes and choppers and you still expect me to win this war?"
"That's right commander. You'll be left 2 Thunderbolts and 3 apaches. 2 of our new millatary cargo planes plane will be paradropping suppliess and 300 extra troops to you. Interestingly enough that the Kazakhstanian made transports will be 1st used in the Kazakhstanian theatre."
"But,.."
"That's not all. We are leaving one of the millatary TV crews with you. From time to time you will be told you need to get us some nice footage of you blowing things up and generally being victorious. It's the only way we are going to keep homeland support for this war. Carter these rebels need to be put down fast and hard so that the sanctity of..." The rest of the General's speach was drowned out by the A-10's and appache's taking off and making their way homeward. Carter was furious.

The paradrop came in on time with only 3 crates going off target. One landed on the roof of the rebuilt hanger and the other two went out into the mountain range. Carter dispatched men and stalked off to the control tower. Hunkering down in front of the Radio he thought to himself. We are out ## and out gunned but the enemy thinks we out gun them, lovely. Cater activated the Radio and attempt to reach the Kazakhstania authorities

"This is Commander Carter of the Commonwealth of Empassioned peoples I need to speak with Kazakhstanian command. We've taken the rebel airstrip west of the Portcity and need to confirm the targets list with you. Who is leading this rebellion where are they? What are 2ndary and tertiary targets."

*Message to EP*

We have no targets currently of great importance, and are currently gathering intelligence.

Please, with air strikes etc please do all you can to supress the rebels. We are counting on your support.

We wish to use your base as a pas for our attack helicopters. 12 shall be dispatched immediately.

OOC: These AH's can take out about 48 tanks each with one ammo load, which I unfortunately believe is almost 3 times what Apaches can do. Though, their support is still needed.

IC:

Corporal Adams flew over the city on his fifth sortie in two days. He sat in his A-15 and glanced over the city for targets. Burned tanks littered the streets, and bodies still lay on the streets. He spotted a pair of tanks moving down a main road, and swung in to engage.

The came in just over the rooftops, and 'pickled' his bomb load. The tanks disappeard in a ball of fire. As he pulled up, tracers started flying around him. An alarm came on, and the plane began to yaw to the left.

"Left engine fire! Right engine fault! ECM failure! ASWC Failure!"

"Shit! Five One, going down!"

With that, the pilot turned, aim for the sky and ejected.

ooc: This is a repost because my last one was eaten so I don't feel like RPing out hi internal monologue and reasoning again I'll just do out the attack to move the timeline along.
IC:

2 chinooks and 3 apaches moved toward the city at a good clip. They had 2 A-10s already abovethe city at 30k ft.

"Carter to air suport come in."
"We read ya Carter"
"You found the target?"
"Yep a group of rebels on the run from allied forces holed up in a mall."
"Excellent. Napalm down and trap them there"

With that the 2 thunderbolts Circled the mall at 500 meters out creating an imassable wall of naplam fire.

"MO Completed sir"
"Excellent expend your ordinance on rebel forceses in the city. Stay high and safe, assist Kazakhstania where you can."
Carter cleared his throat.
"Chinook 1 hold position over the mall I want a drop into the skylight available on Call Chinook 2 I want to set the humvees down in the parking lot. Apache 1 cover Chinook1, Apache 2 flank the mall entance east side, Apache 3 same but west. GO!"

CArter's orders were carried out flawlessly. The chinook hovered 2 ft off the ground and the humvees drove out of it.
"Gun it!" Carter shouted pointing at the door. The humvees went racing through the vacant parking lot into the mall doors. The glass and cheap metal frames shattered and twisted respectively. Not 20 seconds later machine guns began firing from the 2nd level walk. Carter ordered a blockade and the 2 Humvees pulled next to each other with the fronts against a decorative fountain. Carter rolled and hit the ground his men doing the same
"We're pinned down sir!" A nervous officer reported to Carter
"I know, just wait for it"
"Sir we need back up!"
"Just wait" Carter wanted all the rebels engaged before he called in reinforecements.
"Argr" A gurgled cry cam from beside him, the officer who liked to state the obvious was just killed. They were being flanked, Carter looked around and saw some one on the 3rd level of the mall walk tring to load a 2 man rpg himself.
"Carter to apaches smoke the place out, lay down machine gun fire as well." The doors on ether side of him blew in and smoke began to fill the mall. While this happened the sunlight above shaterred into a thousand little pieces As machine gun fire ripped the sides walks of the mall to shreds, rockets with gas warheads slaming into the shops on the various levels of the 3 level mall.
"Chinook drop off, guys I want non lethal measures." With that Carter dropped his rifle and hauled a baton from the back of the Hum-vee 1/2 his team doing the same.
"Covering fire!!" He shouted charging one of the stairs. As Carter reached the stairs men on zip lines were coming in through the skylight coming up on 1 rebel who was vomiting and clutching at his eyes. Carter breathed deep through his mask and brought the baton down on the side of the rebels's neck, dropping him instantly.

When everything was all said and done they had captured 12 rebels, 1 of whiched the others seemed to differ to. Carter was pleased that the mission was a success but sadden as he lost 3 men, 1 of which was 2 friendly fire. He himself was shot once in the hard breast plate of his spec ops suit but it was only a 9mm smg and a glancing blow at best, none the less he needed a new chest piece and an ice pack for his ribs.

"A-10's to Carter we've exhausted our supply of ordinace we are returning to base fyi there is an armour line moving through the city so watch it on evac."
"CArter to A-10 I copy. Carter to Apaches you heard the man expend ordinace on that tank line and head home. Lets pack these rebels and call for pick up in the parking lot."

Carter and his men bundled the rebels and had the loaded up within 15 mins. He would order the interiagation of these men. He'd have to get only 2 officers to do it and kill the rebels when they were done, he couldn't have this coming back on him. No one would be the wiser and they'd get the intel they needed. Carter slumped in the chopper, he was tired.

ooc: Kazakhstania, it's your rebels you tell me what I'd get out of them. The interagation won't be too too tortureous just, ask question, get bad answer, shoot in foot, ask question get bad answer shoot in leg. etc.

Most woudl rather die than tell, but soem will say there are warlords of foreign countries in the hills. They dont however know who and which countries

I have that bit planned, for later.
04-02-2004, 15:04
12 bodies and shit all for intel. The part about foriegn involvement piped Carter's interest. This could be bad he thought we can't stand in an actual war right now this was just suposse to be a suppression of rebels. And what happened to our other allies? The Atheist reality hasn't withdrawn it's ships yet does nothing and the others who promised troops are no where to be seen.

"CHxzzt" The radio staticed at him
"This is Carter could you repeat that?"
"chhhh we've located a small encampment chhhhh south west chhhhh took heavey AA fire returning for repairs."
It was the thunderbolts, he'd sent them out when he learned of the enemies in the hills, well lets see if their info gathering was more effective.

When the A-10's had returned one of the pilots was rushed to the clinic, his leg had some shrapnel in it, his plane almost came apart around him under that flak fire. Carter cursed, how could he be expected to wage a war with one hand tied behind his back?!?! He stomped over to the tower, it looked nicer now it had been re drywallled and new chairs had been brought in, you couldn't tell that not so long ago CArter had called in a strike against it.
"Carter to department of Defence come in"
"this is DD control how may I direct you?"
"Let me speak with General Perrieault"
"One moment"
...
...
...
...
...
Carter was slightly annoyed at the delay
...
...
...
"Perrieault here."
"Carter here. I want them."
"Want what?"
"The spirits"
"Are you crazy this is not a secure line!! Log in to the satelite network and I'll talk to you."
Carter walked over to the small lap to that was pluged in at his make shift office. He brought up the sateliate uplink, the dish on the roof adjusted slightly, and the General's face appeared. He directed the web cam at his self and continued.
"I want th" the general interuppted
"Are you crazy bringing that up on an unsecure channel? Anyone could be listening! No one but Credonia knows we have those!!!"
"General who might be listening?"
"The Kazakhstanian government for one!!"
"I thought they were our friends?"
"Even friends have secerts you know that carter"
"And what about this link up?"
"Unless they have something intercepting the 1 cm beam from here to the satelite to you we are safe, and even then it's got 256kb coding"
"Right, anyway I want the B-2's sent to me so that I can crack the defences west of here, the A-10s are good in air supperiority situations but the AA guns in the hill are ripping the to shit."
The genreal though about it
"It would get good pictures,... Alright you can have all three but! You are restricted to night flights only and they must be stored in a closed hanger at all other times. I'll send them to you asap."
"Thank you sir!!"
"And Carter one more thing."
"Yessir?"
"I'm pulling th nukes from the planes I don't want to wake up to the CEP Times headlines about a mysterious nuclear blast in Kazakhstania."
"Yessir there will not be a problem."

Carter and the gernal finished up. He just sat there rubbing his hands together, now he had the right tools for the job, now he could do what he wanted. Carter moved over to the radio and called for a hanger to be cleared out and 2to be built. He smiled, this was good news.

ooc: I do technically have a few small H bombs and I just had to add that part because if I just did it w/o saying someone who knew that the planes had them would sook if it went down and got into rebel hands.

*Message to EP*

We have no targets currently of great importance, and are currently gathering intelligence.

Please, with air strikes etc please do all you can to supress the rebels. We are counting on your support.

We wish to use your base as a pas for our attack helicopters. 12 shall be dispatched immediately.

*Second Message to EP*

Our nation needs to quickly take back the city. In fac, we NEED that city. So please, can you aid us when we send in our MOUT troops into the city.

We need air cover desperately especially over the docks. We are going to insert a whole Air Borne Helicopter Division at the docks, in an effort to take it back. The rebels will not win, butr we would like as few losses as possible.

*Return Mesage*

We understand, but wish to ask what is in those hangars. They a e ours, and the secret may still be kept we are just...interested.

Thankyou, helicopters and various fighters are inbound. If you wish to find out about any of the aircraft tehre, jsut ask.

OOC:

Midlonia, please. The rebels couldnt have dug those so quickly, and the city cant be built underground. It is based on sand and rock, so it would collapse

As for the otehr reports, just no more stating what they are doing ok.

IC:

Up on the hills surrounding the city, artillery continually fired on the city. Rebel positions were shattered by shells, and rockets were fired into the night, screeching into their targets below.

Several small convoys of APC's and IFV's proceed into the city, laoded to the brim with troops.

President Anderson walked into the situation room, his Secret Service bodyguards holding the doors open for him.

"Whats going on John" he said to the on-duty officer.

"Sir we have reports of a rebel uprising in Kazakhstania, teh rebels appear to have taken docks and the mountains to the west. We have 3 KH-11 Satillites due over within the next 12 hours sir, and a KH-10 will pass over in twelve minutes." replied the Air force Colonel.

"Ok, General" he turned to General Siler who had just walked in, briefing sheet fresh in his hands "Are they in need of assistance?"

"Well sir we are not entirely sure. Secretary of State Anson is contacting their government as we speak to inquire as to if we can aid them in any way. He will come hear as soon as he has an answer and then you can speak directly to the Kazakhstanian Government."

"Ok General, What assests haev we got in the area??"

"Sir we have the Phantom Carrier Battle Group which is escorting 2 Marine Regiments to their training posts, they can be there in 4 days. We can also dispatch B-2 Bombers out of Nieto Air Force base to aid them. They can be within strike distance, 2 hours after satillite recon picks out enemy positions. The B-6 Bombers can aid them as well with Cruise Missiles but we only have 24 currently operating from Nieto with the rest coming into service in 4 months time. If necessary we can also call on B-52s from PCG Air Base in the Empire of Redge, and the Pheonix Carrier Battle Group can be there within 8 days."

"Ok General, make it happen, but i want no strikes until we get Kazakhstanian approval. I am going to contact their Governement when Scott gets in." said the President referring to Secretary Anson.

It might be needed. The rebels have other 600 tanks still around, and we want to minimilise casualties.

Airstrikes from the Independent Hitmen Air Force may be needed, fresh recon on the way.

3 black well angled planes entered rebel territory in Kazakhstania. They split off into 3 seperate directions. A few mins later 3 simeltaneous explosions were heard. The rebel AA fire was immediate but the fire was blind and unable to track any of the targets. 15 explosions in total light up the Kazakhstanian night. 40 mins later 3 unmarked planes laned in the CEP foothold and taxied into the marked hangers
Kazakhstania
08-02-2004, 17:49
OOC: A-10's probably will.

IC:

Backed by the explosions of the unknown bomber, several divisions of Mi-38 helicopters loaded with troops take off into the night.

At the same time, a large convoy of APC's and HMMWV's enter the city. Their air cover takes out the AA guns immediately, and the whole force moves.
08-02-2004, 19:10
As reports came in about the Kazakhstanian assault Carter ordered the base into action. Both A-10's launched toward the city, (so much ooc time has passed that they are both in peak condition again) faster then the choppers they'd pick the spots for engagement. The 2 chinooks where scrambled fully loaded and stripped. Carter had ordered the interiors removed and the dividing wall be taken out so that 2 hummers could be fit in each. Each hummer loaded w/5 men each making 20 the ground force engagement ##. The Appaches too a standard right flank echelon to the 2 indian file chinooks. By the time the choppers managed to get to the city a line of rebel tanks where taking a beating by A-10s in the downtown quad. The chinooks dropped down in suburbia, slowing but not stopping as the humvees were deployed. The 4 humvees rushed toward the downtown as the chinooks pulled a u turn and rushed off into the darkness. The apaches took position over the hummers as they raced down the highway.

It took only 20 mins to reach the downtown on the high way, it would've been only 15 had they not have had to have continuosly avoided the abadoned traffic.
"Fastest commute ever!" A a cheery apache pilot commented over the radio. Carter chuckled and agreed silently. They could not over look the downtown fire fight from the elevated highway. They were noticed almost immediatly and a tank shell ripped open 8 compact cars ahead of them Carter ordered them off the highway and for the appaches to engage. The appachess loosed their rocket pods and the tanks were engulfed in fireballs. 2 of them rolled forward from the explosions.
'Damn Kazakhstanian engineering' thought Carter. Two of the humvees had on their backs dumbfire rockets rather than the standarded thirty ought six machine rounds. The rockets slammed into the tanks as the humvees fired. The tanks finally ceased moving and flames could be seen peeking out of the gunners lookout.
"How far to the civillian hospital?" Carter spoke into the radio
"About 16 city blocks"
"Is there much resistance?"
"No more tanks from here to there but alot of Rebels have taken up positions in windows of the buildings."
"Shee-it, well boys looks like we're mousetunneling. "

The humvees were ordered into the building across the street, Carter would have relished smashing through the department stores windows, sadly this one looked fairly looted already. They drove the humvees as far to the exterior wall on the north side as the could, det packs and shaped charges were set up and the wall was brought down. The humvees were ordered through the hole and the process contunued for 16 block in a northern direction.

It was a major surprise to the rebels when the wall beside them exploded and Carters men were there to ask for their surrender.
"Well men welcome to Atryau general hospital. Your orders are to secure it for immediate use we expect Kazakhstania to have causualties and I want this place up and running to recieve them. Check every room for a booby trap or rebel, teams of no less than 3 and radio in if and when you'll have problems. The reason for the security is because we have unconfirmed reports that this building is being used as a hub for rebels.

It took awhile but eventually the entire hospital was cleared of rebel presence CEP forces lost were 1 3 man team as when they turned a door knob the tnt trap on the other side took them out.

Later chinooks could be seen hovering over the buildings within a city block of the hospital. They were sending teams in to secure these buldings. The chinooks made several trips but eventually secured all the buildings. The only causualties to secure these was a single officer killed by an unknown sniper who's body was never found despite the immediate airstike called in. 23 large buildings were secured 20 of them having no rebel precence at all.

"This is Carter to all 23 engineering teams do you report ready?"
"This is major Goodwine all 23 captains have reported ready sir."
"Excellent is there going to be any damage to the hospital itself?"
"Nosir we expect this to be a perefect demo"
"Excellent proceed" The room Carter was in shook a touch, it didn't give any indication of the true level of destruction he had just ordered. He looked out the window for 1 city block in all directions there was nothing but rubble that was the only trace of the 23 buildings.

About 2 hours later Carter was sitting in the hospital taking stock of the hospital inventory, the office was dark and his only light was the glow off the laptop he was working on. Command had 3 millatary transport plane fuelled and loaded on the runway just waiting for the confirmation of the hospital's supplies. Carter smilled all in all this misson had been a success. He hit the send button on the screen and watched the computer upload the info.

It wasn't untill about noon the next day that Carter got to bed. The planes had air dropped another 300 men and a variety of macinary and supplies. The hospital was up and running and the generators hummed with life. All the machines right from the x-rays to the MRIs to the ultrasounds checked out. They'd cleared the rubble into the streets making all but one way into the hospital impassable. The finishing touches were being put on the minefield and pillboxes, a small garage had been built for the front end loaders and bulldozers that'd been air lifted. Carter had radioed to Kazakhstania that the hospital was open for bussiness when they started to re take the city. They were ready he thought, all Kazakhstania had to do to make use of the hospital would be to break the rebel line and come on in.
'That should ease their fears about causualties..... I wonder if thy're gonna mind me making a mess of the city like I did?' he waved to the sniper on the roof of the newly constructed barracks as he entered.
'Sleep now worry later' were Carter's last thoughts as he stripped out of his black armour and body suit.

A huge column of APC's and IFV's moved through the city. It fought its way, and went throguh roadblock after roadblock. It went through heavy fire, before finally reaching the docks.

Here, over 500 men dismounted from the 2 mile long convoy. The vehicles took off again, heading back out the city.

The docks were quickly retaken. Overhead, helicopters buzzed, dropping off troops at strategic places. Over 2,000 troops were now in the city.

Above the City, at 32,000feet 5 FA/18 Hornets circled slowly.

"Kazakhstanian ground forces this is Eagle Leader, I have Air to Mud munitions and no targets, do you require assistance over?"

The planes continued to circle waiting for the reply.

With the retaking of the city seeming immenint the CEP would like to offer it's contracting skills to rebuild the city.

We would rebuild the city and only charge a 15% profit mark up from the complete reconstruction of it.

If you would be willing to give us the contract to reconstruct all infestructure lost in this conflict we can make you a deal and only charge 10% markup on the cost reconstruction.

However we would be more than willing to rebuild the city at cost if you can offer us the ability to compete with your with your internal companies with no restriction to our bussiness practices (i.e. selling to our people but not letting our compettiton do the same.)

We would also be willing to absorb 25% of the cost of rebuilding the destroyed infastructure if you gave us complete commercial monopoly for now until time eternal.

We await your reply.

P.S. Still waiting the reply to the exchanging of embassy proposals.

The F-18s watched the A-15s on their attack runs and followed them in, dropping their JSOWs on the enemy vehicles. The devestation would be immense from these weapons. Each JSOW let 40 mini-bomblets out at 2,000feet. Each of these then homed in on the heat signature of a vehicle, and as they fell they became white hot, and punctured the top armour exploding within the vehicle. After they had dropped they turned around fired off their mavericks at the survivors before heading back to the carrier.

The rebels in the city were falling apart. Several pockets of resistance remained, mainly around the embassy district. An armored force with infantary is being sent in.

What is your recommended strategy from now on? The city seems taken do you need support in the foot hills or are you good?
12-02-2004, 19:57
Carter shook his head. He couldn't believe it. The government of the CEP had already accepted a contract to rebuild this city before they had even said the fighting was over. The embassy district was still fortified, there were snipers in random windows the rebels armour was gone but they weren't. Carter sighed heavily, well I suppose the want to make money somewhere

We might need soem infantary support to bolsternumbers, but other than that you can pull out your Warthogs :)

16-02-2004, 05:37
The engineering team had arived yesterday. They'd been paradropped from high altitude with their supplies, some advanced comms equipment and another 500 men. Carter couldn't believe these guys. One actually landed on his face and needed to be treated for a broken nose and detached retina. jeezah they couldn't even land properly.

'Early this morning those damn surveyors made me refit one of my A-10s with cameras and a vareity of other surveying equipment. It nearly didn't clear the end of the runway with that much extra weight. I thought those high yield bombs where heavy, it was nothing compared to the weight of the high resolution cameras and panoramix lenses. The computer that ran that thing looked like a small mainframe.'

'It's late night now and the surveyors have initial estimates in, I drone them out but they'll be making a lot of paperwork for me later is what I got out of it."
