"That's right, we're currently searching for a Main Battle Tank to integrate into our army. Although the M1 Abram, our former MBT, has served us very well in the past, we feel that with the new technologies that have been developed, it is a little - how do I put this - out of date." said a smiling General Seranov, obviously enjoying the prospect of getting new hardware for his army.
"Before all you contractors start submitting your designs and proposals, let me list a couple of things that might help you in your endeavors."
"First, we need something affordable. We plan to buy your tanks en masse, so price is a concern. Secondly, mobility. We need an efficient engine, easily maintainable. Logistics is a integral part of our doctrine, as is mobility. Amphibious and/or Airdroppable tanks are certainly a big plus, but are not required. Thirdly, we want one of those nifty anti-rocket, artillery, etc laser devices mounted on the tank. We've seen too many tanks being taken down by some random 3rd nation army with a AK-47 and RPGs."
"As for firepower... It's not that much of a concern - we just need something enough to kill other tanks before they kill us."
OOC: Please keep this modern - near-future. I'm thinking no tech not feasible for a 2020 nation.

Kilean has the Pcz IV cougar heavy MBT, although sale of this would be contingent on a generally favorable trade environment with Exonerate.
In addition, the allied states of etronia has the excellent Chasseur fast MBT, which kilean manufactures several parts for. I'm sure they could work some sort of deal for you.
We could provide more detail on either design, if you wish.

The cougar is a very heavy, very protected MBT. It is a gas-guzzler, and has some very complex equipment, but can take a lot of punishment. It's developed by Kilean Waffenwerke/Ostendt Motorfabrik/Etronian defence dynamics.
Type: Heavy MBT
Designation: Pcz Mk. IV Cougar.
Weight: 81 tons
Appearance: The Cougar is a massive tank. It’s body is slung wide and low to the ground. The turret is located at the back of the tank (a la the merkava) and has a roughly wedge-like shape. Crew entry is also in emulation of the Merkava- through a rear hatch. The glacis plate as well as the turret face are steeply angled, giving the tank an almost polygonal appearance. On the front of the tank, the drivers hatch sits next to the camera/IR pod that serves as the drivers main vision system. On top of the tank is the enclosed coupla that contains the commanders 14mm machinegun and targeting systems. The tank as a whole has a wide-set, blocky appearance.
Engine: A large, powerful turbine engine propels the Cougar. Although a
break from previous tank engines Kilean has used, the turbine (made by Ostendt Motorfabrik Gmbh) because only it’s sheer power could propell the massive bulk of the Cougar. It is a more advanced and efficient model than the M-1 Abram’s 1960’s tech turbine engine. However, the power requirements basically nullify the efficiency, giving the Cougar terrible mileage- .4 miles to the gallon. The turbine engine-through an advanced automatic transmission that gives the Cougar great poor-terrain ability- drives the Cougars wide treads, needed to insure that it doesn’t bog down in muddy terrain. Although it can make some 40mph on roadways or hard-packed ground, it can only really hope for a 30mph speed on any sort of rough terrain, and even that carries a dangerous threat of jumping tracks very easily.
Crew: 4- commander, gunner, driver, radioman
Armor: Armor is where the Cougar really shines. The front glacis plate, side panels, and turret frontal armor have depleted uranium inserts sandwiched between armor-grade steel plating to the outside, and deforming composite-based anti spalling armor within. The main body frame is reinforced in places with tungsten alloy/composite struts, and the entire interior of the tank is lined with Kevlar anti-spalling fabric sheets. The top and side armor is designed to “pop outwards” in case of a catastrophic hit to the front of the tank- similar to how the hood deforms to absorb impact in many modern cars- and the ammo bays are designed to blow out backwards. In addition, the crew hatches are fitted with explosive bolts to allow rapid crew escape if the tank is hit. A sophisticated firefighting system is also included, along with anti-gas filters and lead-foamed inserts (an idea copied from the soviet T-72) that give the Cougar the excellent NBC protection standard in all Kilean tanks. This is all in addition to good old-fashioned armor, which the Cougar has in spades, angled to greatest effect.
Armament: The cougar is armed with a 120mm Kilean Waffenwerke smoothbore long-barreled cannon. High muzzle velocity is the main killer with this fearsome weapon. The gun is auto-stabilized for full fire-on-move ability, and is tied in to the commander’s laser/IR range finding& targeting system. Combat load is some 85 rounds, usually an even mixture of APFSDS, HEAT, HE. Secondary armament consists of an MG-87 mounted on the gunners hatch, and a 14mm heavy machinegun mounted on the commanders coupla, as well as coaxial to the main gun.
Electronics: The Cougar is equipped with the standard KLM radio suite, for full integration with all Kilean units. In addition, it sports a reduced, local version of the Etronian BattleLAN. This system allows tanks to have access to data on their platoon mates- fuel levels, ammunition, battle damage, etc. Night vision/IR is available for all crew members. The gun is aimed using a computer controlled laser-range finding system. There is also a milimeter-wave radar, although this is never really used for aiming the main gun, as it is mostly used by the “firework” system. The “firework’ antimissile system is similar to the dazzler systems mounted on US helicopters. It appears as a small dome on top of the turret. It uses milimeter-wave radar to detect incoming antitank missiles, and directs a medium-powered laser to “dazzle” the seeker heads of the missiles, disrupting their lock. It is somewhat effective, although by no means a foolproof countermeasure. It is high-upkeep, and it is nowhere near as effective in foggy or rainy weather. It is also useless against non-optical/IR or unguided antitank missiles.
The other option is the etronian-made Chasseur, developed with assistance from Kilean Waffenwerke.
MBT: Chasseur.
Crew: Commander/IT system operator, Gunner, Driver.
Etronia has broken with the traditional MBT concept to create the "chasseur" medium tank. The Chasseur is a combination of simple, elegantly designed hardware and cutting-edge battlefield IT technology.
Appearance: The Chasseur is a low-slung tank. It's angled, sleek appearance has caused some to dub it the "stealth tank", however this is due to the careful angling of the armor plates- getting the most protection out of the least heavy plating. Indeed, the term "stealth tank" is somewhat of a misnomer, as the diesel used by the Chasseur is somewhat louder than the turbine engine of the Abrams. It's turret, placed near the back of the tank, is roughly triangular in shape, and the long, slender barrel of the high-velocity 100mm rifled gun protrudes from the angled front. The sleek appearance of the tank is somewhat marred by the milimeter-wave radome and camera pod sticking up from the turret.
Armor:
The Chasseur weighs in at some 48 tons, a marked decrease in weight from heavier MBT's like the Abrams. It's armor, while suicidally light by American or Russian standards, is composed totally of advanced composites, with depleted-uranium slabs at on the turret faces and glacis plate. Blowout panels for ammo storage, a sophisticated firefighting system, and special detcord-rigged ejection-handle style escape hatches increase crew survivability without contribuiting much to the weight of the tank. The Chasseur is survivable, but its primary defence is speed and range.
Engine: The Chasseur does not use a turbine engine, opting instead for a well-engineered diesel motor capable of propelling the lightweight tank at some 60mph flat-out (although doing this on anything but a road/open sand is asking to jump a track FAST). The well-designed suspension and reliability of the automatic transmission result in an engine that is much less matinence-intensive than a turbine, and has far better fuel efficiency. The Chasseur was designed with good mileage in mind, and has roughly double the fuel efficency of an Abrams.
Armament: The Chasseur carries a Etronia Defence Dynamics 100mm auto-stabilized rifled cannon. It is very long-ranged, and coupled with the ecellent fire control sytems of the Chasseur, hyper-accurate. The Chasseur has full fire-on-move ability. It has, under test conditions, performed one-shot kills on moving T-72's out to 3 miles. The ammunition store is large, as the Chasseur is designed to fight running battles- some 80 shells are carried in shielded bins between the drivers compartment in the front, and the gunner/commander compartment in the rear. These are designed to blow outwards/sideways if hit. The 100mm gun is fed by a six-round revolver magazine that is capabile of semiauto fire. Autoloading gear can reload the cylinder in 8 seconds, if the desired shell mix is designated. Combat load usually includes a large number of HEAT and HESH rounds, followed by APFSDS rounds, then smaller numbers of HE and WP rounds. Auxilliary weapons consist of an Etronian Arms 7.62mm MG in the drivers position with 2,000 rounds, and 2 Kilean Waffenwerke 14mm machineguns- 1 mounted coaxial with the main gun, and one in the commanders sponson. They feed from common reload bins with some 7,000 rounds. The gunners hatch also has a mount for the Etronia Arms 7.62mm. Smoke generator and flare launchers are standard. Reactive armor can be fitted.
Electronics: This is where the Chasseur really shines. The excellent firecontrol systems are the best Etronia has to offer, combining top-flight Kilean optics, Etronian laser rangefinders, milimeter-wave radar for locating hidden targets at close range, passive nightvision and thermal sights for night fighting, and a FLIR/camera pod similar to that of many scout helicopters on an extendable mast, giving the Chasseur the ability to maintain situational awareness even in concealed positions.
The Chasseur has an advanced electronics package, consisting of an onboard computer responsible for keeping track of where it is relative
to other platoon members and on a map and for the states of other tanks in its platoon through Etronia's own military communications
system, BattleLAN. Any tank is able to act as a 'command tank', but there are specially made 'command' tanks with better comms capabilities: it keeps track of more variables regarding itself, other vehicles, and objectives, and its transmitter is capable of reaching farther.
It also has a fire control package clearly designed towards maintaining a very impressive fire-on-move capability with almost no diminished accuracy/range penalty. It has a very complicated optics system aimed at spotting enemy vehicles, infantry, and other targets: an ordinary magnification with no enhancement, infrared, and millimeter-wave radar view modes. All of these are also available through the mast-mounted camera, giving it
increased visibility when necessary.
So, there you have it. Keep in mind, both of these are top-of-the-line tanks, and you may have to accept that certain systems will be downgraded in the export version. Also- the Cougar tank's are in short supply, and delivery of them could take some time.

T-05 Light Air-drop capable tank
-Picture isn't working-
The T-05 light tank was designed to be able to be parachuted into hostile territory to provide parachuting forces a reliable, efficient tank that can rival enemy main battle tanks, the T-05 fills that role. The T-05 is developed on the T-04A/B series chassis. The barrel of the main cannon can be removed by a fairly simple process in order to be parachuted or transported, or it can be left on.
Armor: Light weight steel outer armor layer with a honeycombed layer of aluminum covering a slanted plate of light-weight titanium composite with another layer of coarse ceramics woven with kevlar fibers. Can defend against RPGs, standard cannon rounds up to 125 mm and others weapons.

SYSTEMS
ALMRS/TTAC-03 system: Tracks up to 16 enemies and ranks them according to range, heading, threat level, and tank-type to provide best possible firing solution. Also computes MOA and other variables and automatically sets turret and barrel to correct heading (when this feature is engaged) and can fire on up to two targets simultaneously (assuming ATGM's are on their respectable slides).
ARENA: Scrambles enemy ATGM's radars and tracking systems, also causes their navigational systems to cause them soaring into the sky until they detonate.
Shtora-3 defense suite: Scrambles enemy laser rangefinder, making it nearly impossible for enemy tank to fire, unless they guess the range. Also scrambles enemy communications systems and tracking systems.
AEISCN-01: Shares target information with other friendly tanks in the field along with other information, also allows friendly tanks in large numbers to make coordinated attacks through out the battlefield. Also allows friendly tanks to instantly reorganize into new squadrons and divisions for new assaults and also relays all information back to command. This system also checks in every 10 minutes (or shorter; can be adjusted) with GPS and military satellites to update terrain and enemy movements.

Also ERA is a cheap way to increase armor performance against HEAT rounds (cheaper, yes).
