After ages of constrution, Endless tests, prototypes, and a few smoking craters from 'Mishaps' The Crossroads Inc. Military divsion unviels the end result of its long term 'Mega-Tank of DOOM' progect.
The first of what will eventually be Five Massive tanks was shown to eagerly awaiting press reporters at the main contruction facility ouside of 'DOOM & Company' head offices.
The new tank, code named -Big.Overpowered.Land.Omnitank- was truely a site to behold. While primarly armed with the first working profuction modle of the Deadly powerful 'Auto-Wizz-Bang' Cannon, the massive land battleship bristled with a large aware of other armouments.
Each side of the tank held five Quad-AA turrets and four 3mm 270arching tank turrets. The bank of the Mobil Behemoth held 4 racks of heavily armoud missle tubes, with 200 missles in each large compartment as well as 4 Missile silos for Non-Nuke ICBMs
The first tank, named 'Bun-Bun' will soon be followed by 4 more Defense mega tanks over the next 3 years.

Um.. You know I hadn't thought about that, I designed it for Defense only, since I was afraid if I sold it it might be labled as God-Modding,
But hey! if you really want one I guess a fair price for one of these puppies would be around 10 Billion
Crew:350
Speed:90Kmh
Weight:15,000tons
Oh yea, im going to say you can't buy more than 2 of these things at a time..because hey, running around with a hundred, or even a dozen of them really would be God-modding.
ummm ... question ...
as it seems to me from the pics the lil' guy standing in front of the tank is completely safe. from the desing you can see none of the side-guns have a line of shooting at him, the BFG is out of the question and he can just stand as the tank passes above him probably touching the bottom without jumping.

Just one question, how long does it take for the main turret to rotate?
Crossroads Inc
26-01-2004, 07:28
AH, I have thought about this, and asked a friend whos really good at mathmetics about this, he says for something of that size and weight, you could rotat it 360 in about 2.3 minuts. Which I guess seems really slow, but given its size is managable. Oh, also its rate of fire, given power drain, Cooldown, and readjustments, is about once every 2 minuts...

Just how big is that main gun, anyway?
Crossroads Inc
26-01-2004, 07:36
Well the exposed prt is about 50ft long, theres another 20ft inside the Tank turret, The descrption of how the Cannon fires is in the Link in my first thread (up at the top) And yes I have taken Re-coil into account... one of the reasons its so large...

Damn... This is really too unweildy for my tastes...
With all due respect I cannot think of one valuable purpose for that tank. It will sink into any ground that isn't either paved or solid stone. Good luck finding a roadway large enough to hold that on or a bridge strong enough to support it's weight. Trying to drive it out of the factory would consume all of it's onboard fuel. This thing would be almost completely unusable.
No, Xha'dam declines from purchasing this behemoth.
That tank would make a great paperweight....Or a bomb...Yeah just chuck it out of the plane and watch it destroy a skyscraper!
Oh wait...you'll need around 5 planes to lift that

Hehe..Yea.. Ive had a few friends tell me the exact same things.. But Hey! Can't a Guy be silly? Besides the main purpose of these things was Defense... It;s not like Iv'e planed to have them charging into battle in the middle of my army or something... Each one is Nuclear powered to boot... and to be hounst, i was planning on building the on location where they will be instled. Five tanks stratgeicly placed around my Island nations for purposes of Defense against large scale invasion...

"Hypothetically speaking... What's to stop a stray F/A-18 dropping a bomb on this tank, and thus wasting 10 billion dollars of equipment?" asked an innocent reporter for NBC.

Subject: Procurement of several "Mega Tanks of Doom"
The Juumanistran Ministry of Education is interested in procuring two of your "Mega Tanks of Doom". While the Ministry of Defense has passed, citing "impracticality", we're thoroughly interested. With a few child-proof locks installed and fresh coat of paint, they'd make excellent hands-on learning experiences for the nation's youth.

"Hypothetically speaking... What's to stop a stray F/A-18 dropping a bomb on this tank, and thus wasting 10 billion dollars of equipment?" asked an innocent reporter for NBC. Well there are 10 AA Cannos over all, and 400 out of the Total 800 Missles are SAM interecept missles... So, it is not like one Giant target, it can defend itself.

Sure, until that pesky little stealth F-35 drops a JDAM on it out of nowhere :P
Personally, I think I can get a better investment on roughly $10 bill of equipment buying an upgraded CVN-77 with all the aircraft on it. I mean, it's a carrier. With over a hundred aircraft.
If you have 400 SAM's...won't help against stealth aircraft, would it? Or longer-ranged missiles?

I would have to say it is more than 50ft. judging by the little
man standing in front.
IC:
We would like to get fifty of these tanks.

Hopefully you won't mind if we modify some of them for use in our
space command.

Umm... Kormanthor are you sure? This tank is never going to be useful... It's lack of mobility will become a massive liability...

I plan on shipping them to AsterKore for future tech modifications
such as miniturized impulse engines and starship type ion cannons
phasers, maybe some photon torpedoe launchers, etc...
If you have read my Lost City Of The Stars RP then you know that
I might soon be in a fight for the continued existance of not only
Kormanthor, but of the entire earth. I need some unconventional
weapons.

How long will it take you to produce these tanks? I am involved in
a SPACE RP of my making. I had planned on redesigning the tanks for use in that conflict. If it will take a long time then I must back out of the deal.
I hope you understand the reasoning involved here, if you need to verify
what I'm saying please check out my RP.

Let us know when all the tanks are completed and we will make the arrangements to pick them up. Our Hoover Carrier
will need a large open area by the ocean to come ashore, land long enough to load the tanks, manuver, then return to the ocean. Please understand that this type of exercise could be seen by someone as a perfect opportunity to attack
our carrier so she will be accompanied by a large naval task
force just off of your coast with air & spacecraft support. We need your permission to enter your territorial waters & for our carrier to come ashore. Do not worry about the ablity of the the carrier crew to pull this
off, they have participated in landfall manuvers successfully many times
in our own country. This operation is for picking up our merchandise only,
you need not be concerned of us having any ulterior motives.
