Major Defence Contract

25-01-2004, 14:47
Being a peaceful nation arms manafacturing is non existent in our nation. However, we realise that our armed forcs must have the proper equipment to fight a war if needs be.

We require to rekit our entire combat personnel with a new high powered, light weight assault rifle. New night vision kit. New communcation equipment.

We also wish to view designs for a new major battle tank and fighter aircraft.

Please submit proposals as quickly as possible.

Our budget is limited but we wish to review our best options and hopefully work out a deal.

We have the perfect weapon:

The LAR-25 is the product of several years of research and development by many different companies, and uses some of the most advanced operation and production techniques in the world. Designed completely independently of the government which had no need for a new assault rifle because the SCR-12 Tavor (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=59484&highlight=) had only been recently introduced. Therefore this unique weapon enjoys superior performance as unlike most other weapons it was not designed to meet rigid cost and specification targets that often lead to downgrading of performance. However, some branches of the Army such as the SRS and the Rangers are now considering using this weapon to replace the Tavor in some roles as well as the small numbers of M4A2 Carbines in service. It is unlikely to ever see mass use across the armed forces because of its prohibitively high cost which comes from the high quality construction and impeccable design.

The Light Assault Rifle (LAR) is offered in three distinct sizes, the Carbine, the Light Assault Rifle and the Full sized Combat Rifle, with models all capable of being fitted with a wide range of sights and the specially designed UAC-7A 40mm grenade launcher.

Operation

The LAR-25 features a short piston stroke, gas operated action, with rotating bolt locking. The entire construction is modular and built around the polymer receiver with bolt group; Magazine housings could be easily swapped for compatibility with various types of magazines; various butt stocks could be installed in seconds for various roles (standard stock is a 5 position telescoping adjustable one). The top of the receiver is fitted with proprietary sight rail, which can accept illuminated red-dot sights, or any other type of sighting equipment.

Ambidextrous fire controls are mounted on the trigger unit, integral with pistol grip and trigger guard, and in basic configuration can deliver single shots, three round burst, two round burst and full auto fire. The ambidextrous charging handle is located at the top of the receiver, below the removable carrying handle.

This modularity includes the exchange of interchangeable assembly groups such as the barrel, hand guard, lower receiver, butt stock modules and sighting system with removable carrying handle. In addition and in parallel, a 40mm grenade launcher withside-opening breech or lightweight 12 gauge shotgun module can be easily added to the LAR by the user in the field without tools. The unique butt stock system allows the operator exchange butt stocks without tools from the standard collapsible multi-position version, to an optional butt cap for maximum portability or an optional folding or sniper butt stock with adjustable cheek piece for special applications. Internally the LAR-25 employs a combat-proven robust rotary locking bolt system that functions and fieldstrips like that used in the current M16 rifle and M4 carbine. However this bolt is powered by a unique gas operating system that employs a user removable gas piston and pusher rod to operate the mechanism. Unlike the current M4/M16 direct gas system with gas tube, the LAR gas system does not introduce propellant gases and the associated carbon fouling back into the weapon’s receiver during firing. This greatly increases the reliability of the LAR while at same time reducing operator cleaning time by as much as 70%. This system also allows the weapon to fire more than 15,000 rounds without lubrication or cleaning in even the worst operational environments. A cold hammer forged barrel will guarantee a minimum of 20,000 rounds service life and ultimate operator safety in the event of an obstructed bore occurrence.

Major components of the weapon are produced from high-strength fiber reinforced polymer materials that can be moulded in almost any color to include dark green, desert tan, arctic white, urban blue, and basic black. Surfaces on the weapon that interface with the operator are fitted with non-slip materials to increase comfort and operator retention. The LAR uses 10, 20 or 30-round magazines which are interchangeable with nearly other weapon of 5.56mm NATO standard, such as the M16/M4.

Sighting

The attachment points for the standard issue UAC-02 multi-function integrated red-dot/optical sight allow multiple mounting positions and insure 100% zero retention even after the sight is removed and remounted. The battery/solar powered sight includes the latest technology in a red dot close combat optic, IR laser aimer and laser illuminator with back-up etched reticule with capability exceeding that of the current generation of weapons. This sight is factory zeroed on the weapon when it is delivered and does not require constant re-zeroing in the field like current rail-mounted targeting devices. The LAR is fully compatible with future infantry technology such as Land Warrior or similar projects.

UAC-7A Grenade Launcher

Unlike the standard Elias Army Tavor rifle, the LAR does not use the standard M203 40mm grenade launcher because its weight would make an otherwise extremely light weapon, into something improperly balanced and almost as cumbersome as the weapons it is designed to replace.
Instead the United Arms Corporation have developed the UAC-7A under slung lightweight grenade launcher uses a fast and easy side-loading breech configuration. This feature and the quick detachable design of launcher provides superior combat capability over existing M203 grenade launchers. Also unlike the M203, the the UAC-7A can fire all standard low velocity 40 x 46 mm ammunition, including HE, AP, anti-riot baton, irritant gas and illuminating rounds. Its rifled aluminum barrel ensures a high degree of accuracy out to ranges of 450 meters. An ambidextrous safety lever and double action only trigger ensure easy and safe handling.

Kazakhstania has recently felt the urge for soemthign to arm it's special forces with. Therefore, we have taken a weapon and upgraded it, to suit our ends. We are happy to now announce the completion of our project in a record week after being asked to complete a project. We are happy with our project, and release it to you now. We hoep you liek it.

AKS-74UM Assault Rifle

http://venus.walagata.com/w/woodhall/AKS-74U.JPG

http://venus.walagata.com/w/woodhall/AKS-74UM.JPG

We designed this assault rifle to be as the same guidelines as the AKS-74U. It comes in two versions, the silenced version and the non silenced version. Each have been upgraded and modified inside, to fire the 5.56mm NATO round. It has the same internal firing mechanism as the AK-74, and is very reliable.

It has a fairly short barrel fashioned out of titanium alloys, and can take firing for a long length of time. It has internal dampeners arund the barrel, to counter the affects of barrel rattling. The barrel is firmly lodged among the main body, and is non detachable.

The stock is folding, and made of titanium reinforced fiberglass. It is on a steel pivot, and has proven to be easily foldable. The whole weapon has stood up well to tests, is almsot as reliable as the original AK-74. It has stood up well to damage, and is capable of bombat drops, without getting in the way. It has even been implemented in various Tank Corps in the Kazakshtanian army.

The difference between the versions is the intergrel silencer built in on the silenced version. It reduces flashes and sound drastically, whiel adding a mere few centimeters to the length. There, like in the MP5, is no need for subsonic ammo, so stopping power is not sacrificed. It remains the same as any assault rifle.

The add ons to the weapon include the verious attach points on the weapon. Under the barrel hangs a Laser Targeter. It can be easily removed and is fairly robust and can be knocked around. A 4x scope sits on the top of the sight. There is no iron sight, as its need has been taken by the Laser. It is a varable scope, and can be disattached easily.

That ends our guided weapon tour. Now, stats:

Caliber: 5.56x45 mm
Action: Gas operated, rotating bolt with 2 lugs
Overall length: 735 mm (490 mm with folded buttstock)
Barrel length: 210 mm - 215 Silenced
Magazine capacity: 30 rounds standard
Weight empty: 2.51 kg
Effective range: About 220 meters
Rate of fire: 750 rounds per minute

Cost: Regular: $600
Silenced: $650

On behalf of Elias Aerospace, I would like to ask what capacity Anarchovia has in mind for international co-operation. Before we can consider giving a significant discount on a new product we must have soem idea what these advantages may be. Your nation should also consider other EAC products as well as other Elias defence systems, details of which can be found: here (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=74809).

Your order for the LAR-25 combat rifles with integrated sights and grenade launchers is confirmed, and the discount is also acceptable. We msut ask in what colour finish the rifles should be made in, otherwiuse a standard black finish will be applied.

As far as a main battle tank is concerned, Elias Defence Industries have made nearly everything, with the exception of tanks and we have no intention of starting in this rsky field. For Main Battle Tanks our nation relies mainly on those produced by Dark Terror and we highly reccomend these models.

We are discouraged you did not chose our product, but realise United Elias's product is a good all round weapon. It may be more expenisve, but it is still a solid weapon.

If you ever feel the need, just ask me about anythign else you may need :)

United Elias:

We would like to invite Elias Defence to come to Anarhovia and begin to upgrade our entire Air and Navel fleet. Hopefully this will include the construction of factories and the setting up of an Office in our capital city Raners.

The upgrading will include the new design and creation of a fighter plane and bomber aircraft and their continual maintenance. For the Navel fleet we request your company to upgrade existing models and to design a new battle ship with their continual maintenance.

We also request Elias Aerospace to upgrade our Nationalised civilian air fleet with new aircrafts. The cost for this will obviously be finalised by Elias and of course we would provide the workforce for any factories and maintenance that needs to be carried out.

We feel that this opportunity would not only branch Elias out international at the same time giving the company a massive contract it would also allow our unemployed to get back into work.

In regards to the rifles we request they come with a black finish and would like to know how fast the shipment will come. At present our personnel are using out of date equipment.

We are very much interested in using your company to equip our armed forces further and will recommend your company to our region. Our government has been given a new defence responsability within the region and feels that this may benifit Elias greatly if the company agreed to set up an international office with Anarchovia.

Kazakhstania:

We apologise for not responding but at present the Defence Council is still reviewing your offer.

The Elias Aerospace and Elias Marine Corporations would be willing to participate in such as deal providing that full control of any production facilities, trade offices or designs made in your nation or in a joint program wih your nation, remain under the control of the Ministry of Defence Procurement and Export.

Our defence industries are wary about producing designs that are rendundant to existing systems and we would ask whether the said requirements could be met by modifying our existing systems and somehow integrating Anarchovia into it.

If your nation wishes for us to offer a package type deal, where we asses your capabilities and present options for upgrading and replacing equipment as well as recomending other types of system, this would be possible and no doubt give you a more balanced and integrated military.
If we were to this we would need to have a complete list of existing equipment and force numbers as well as the budget whcih you have for procurement. In this way we could generate a complete list of reccomendations for your review and once this has been agreed, negotations can begin on how to use your domestic workforce to accomplish our requirements. Obviously for this detailed strategic assesment we (The Ministry itself) take a small fee, but this will be more than compensated on cost savings on producing components indigenously and allowing for bulk discounts.

We also look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship.

The Zoogie People would gladly offer you its fighter aircraft for a contract production.

We offer you either the ZF-26 or ZF-24, or both if you prefer, or any other model featured. (What a nice way of saying, we offer you our aircraft). The ZF-24 and -26 are special in particular that they are our only 5th generation domestic made models, and feature automated thrust vectoring and low RCS. In addition, they are both multirole fighters. The ZF-26 has a trainer version, while the ZF-24 has a two-seat reconaissance and a naval version.

If you are looking for something several million cheaper, we can take a leap back a generation and use the F-16CZ, a heavily modified F-16C. Or an even cheaper alternative, the ZF-12C.

"The Elias Aerospace and Elias Marine Corporations would be willing to participate in such as deal providing that full control of any production facilities, trade offices or designs made in your nation or in a joint program wih your nation, remain under the control of the Ministry of Defence Procurement and Export."

Provided the workforce was Anarchovian and Anarchovian laws and workers rights were maintained this is not a problem.

"Our defence industries are wary about producing designs that are rendundant to existing systems and we would ask whether the said requirements could be met by modifying our existing systems and somehow integrating Anarchovia into it."

If I understand you right, this would see our armed forces come in line with your present armed forces. If this is the case we see no problem with that, however our defence budget is not endless.

"If your nation wishes for us to offer a package type deal, where we asses your capabilities and present options for upgrading and replacing equipment as well as recomending other types of system, this would be possible and no doubt give you a more balanced and integrated military."

This would be extremly helpful. A list of our existing forces will follow shortly.

Procuerments.
