Today, a heavily armed group swiftly took control of a subway station, barricading all entrances except for the main stairs which appears to be heavily guarded. While seizing the station a man with a CCW shot 2 members of the group, killing one. He was quickly shot down by the remaining terrorists. Other than this there were 2 confirmed civilian deaths. There are believed to be between 30 and 50 civilians being held hostage by 10-15 heavily armed terrorists. At the moment they have not made demands, but they have communicated that any attempts to enter the subway station by any means will result in the execution of all hostages. 3 city blocks surrounding the area have been sealed off. At the moment, city police and a company of militia are securing the area surrounding the subway station, and all stations leading to the terrorist-held station have been closed. RuFedEG are moving to the scene but will not be at the station for another hour. (OOC: 15 minutes real time)

OOC: Please, if you choose to be the terrorists or try to help, don't get the hostages killed for no reason. AKA, don't say, "I'm teh terorizm and I KILL TEH HOSTARGES!" and don't say, "We want to help so we send soldiers who throw grenades into the subway"

The terrorists have released a hostage. The hostage gave an envelope to a Militia officer and tells us that the terrorists say they have planted explosives in the subway and that they will blow themselves and the hostages up unless the demands in the envelope are met.

The envelope is being tested for presence of explosives or chemical or biological warfare material.

OOC: Am I in this alone?

IC: A battalion of RuFedEG have arrived by Hind helicopter. RuFedEG snipers have taken to windows and rooftops surrounding the station entrance, and squads have been sent to guard adjacent stations. The Militia have been reassigned to remove civilians from the area not only to insure their safety but also to minimize public viewing of RuFedEG. The envelope has been opened and read by a RuFedEG officer, the demands have not been released but it has been decided that they will not be met at this time.

IC: Another hostage has been released, telling RuFedEG soldiers that the terrorists will detonate the explosives in 3 hours if the demands are not met.

It has been decided that the RuFedEG will save the hostages. A remote control robot with cameras and EOD device has been sent through the subway tunnel, to assess the situation in the station and, if possible, destroy the explosives without detonation.

IC: Against his comrades' shouts and wishes, a rather frustrated terrorist, face hidden by a bandana, charges whatever militia or law enforcement officers outside the subway, weilding an AK-74, firing at officers and soldiers randomly. Another follows him, tossing petrol bombs at groups of on-lookers and the officers and soldiers, while firing a Glock 20.

OOC: They wouldn't have gotten up the first step of the subway stairs with snipers covering it. Also, there aren't onlookers, they've been cleared away. But, since they already started throwing stuff....

IC: RuFedEG officers, soldiers and several several snipers shoot the terrorist with the AK-74, dropping him before he can do any damage and making quite a mess on the pavement. One of the petrol bombs explodes harmlessly away from soldiers, but one explodes close to an element of RuFedEG wounding 4. The terrorist firing the Glock was shot several times in the chest by a PKM.

After learning of the developing events, King Michel IV of Terres Francaises sends the following to the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation... "Dear sir, In addition to the humanitarian aid already pledged and awaiting your approval, I offer to send the Royal Guard's strategist and lead Negotiator to aide you."

Gunshots are heard coming from the subway, it is not known whether hostages are being executed or not. The robot should be able to see the station within the next 10 minutes.

Chellis would be glad to send you a quick shipment of mustard gas... Im sure the subway has ventilation of some sort?

The robot has reached the station and relayed images of the situation. Explosives have been spotted but are out of range of the EOD device. The robot is driven into the shadows and is shut down with the exception of its cameras, so it can relay intelligence without detection.

Growing tired of waiting, the Terres Francaises Humanitarian Services group, heads to the border of their land to await further developments, and requests for Humanitarian Relief.

Chellis suggests you take a zero tolerance ideology with these terrorists and gas them like suggested. Terrorists wont do this any longer if they realize they cant win. You might be able to save the subway as well. The hostages...well, the subway at least will remain.

At the moment the only place I have for you is guarding the rear from attacks such as the nail bomb.

Learning of Chellis' stance on the issue, The United Terres Francaises Lands decides to keep a close and keen eye on the nation.

Images from the robot suggest that the explosives can be detonated by any of the 12 remaining terrorists. It may be possible to move the robot into range in order to destroy the explosives, but detection is very likely and if the terrorists discover the robot and disable it before it can destroy the bomb, they may detonate it.

Chellis would like to send a small transport aircraft to you, to help with the situation. It would carry 4 MP Strategists who specialize in Counter-terrorism, as well as what materials they would need to normally deal with terrorists.

OOC: This RP was sort of an experiment, there's not much going on and I'm the only one really involved, mainly because this was poorly thought out. I'll just end it now and save us all from the suffering.

IC: It is decided that the robot will attempt to destroy the explosives. A platoon of RuFedEG get ready to infiltrate, covered by snipers. The robot gets to a distance right at the maximum range of the EOD water cannon and fires.
As soon as it fired, the robot was destroyed by the terrorists, and it is unknown whether or not the explosives were destroyed. Tear gas is immediately thrown into the station and the soldiers rush in. Mass gunfire is heard. After about 45 seconds, the gunshots stop. There is no explosion. Another platoon of RuFedEG, prepared to extract and treat hostages, enter the station.

After the station is cleared, it is determined that the robot did not destroy the explosives but did disable the detonater. 3 soldiers were lightly wounded and all of the terrorists were shot. Before the soldiers could kill all the terrorists, 11 hostages were killed.
