Because we all know that countries with a population of less than 50million people are incapable of fielding an army. :roll:

Some people just blanket ignore smaller nations just for the hell of it, because they have a misguided belief that small nations can't have an army.
In reality, small nations often do have a military, and often a military capable of putting up a fairly decent fight against a larger opponent (e.g. Vietnam. However, it is usually inadvisable to go off on a war of conquest straight away. Take the time to build up an army, and develop some decent equipment, and read the stickies.
