Coming of the Farsight Enclave (Open sci-fi RP)

The Farsight Enclave
24-01-2004, 20:12
OOC: for all of you who play WH40k and know what exactly the Farsight Enclave is, my nation will be sticking loosely to that theme, but i'll be changing some of the stuff around the more i RP with this nation, so it'll fit in better with the other stuff going on.

For everybody else, the Farsight Enclave is a race of aliens that are humanoid but physically smaller than humans. These aliens are technologically advanced etc. The Farsight Enclave is a rouge group of these aliens that leave the rest, and now have different morals and ideals. So this is just an explination as to why the Farsight Enclave has advanced technology for a young nation.

on a side note, i tried getting this off the ground a couple weeks back but it didnt go over that well so thats why my nation only has about 10million citizens for the purposes of this RP.

IC:

Commander Shas'O Vior'la Shovah Kaius Mont'yr, or as he was commonly refered to Commander O'Shovah, stood on the bridge of his
Gal'leath Vash'ya Mk XXIII, or Explorer class starship, gazing out into the empty void of space. It had been weeks since the Farsight Enclave had decided to leave the rest of the Tau empire, but O'Shovah felt it was for the best. The differing views of his people from those of the rest of the Tau Empire would bring nothing more than conflict, strife and grief to all. The massive exodus of many millions of Tau from all casts of life required a huge fleet.

Fanning out behind O'Shovah's massive flag-ship/carrier was a fleet large enough to carry and protect ten million souls. Many of the Il'Fannor Ke'lshan, or Merchant class, ships had been converted to accomodate civilians and carry the material needed to sustain life in the viod of space. Surronding the thousands of Merchant ships were the Kir'qath, or Defender class ships, making up the bulk of the fleet. Flights of Orca patrol ships could be seen patrolling the interior and near exterior of the fleet, although the powerful sensors of the fleet's capital ships could scan anything for millions of kilometers, making the Orca patrols more of a formality than anything else. Two more Explorer class starships, converted into Manta air-craft carriers, could be seen flanking the fleet, with an escort of Lar'shi T'olku, or Hero class, warships. The mighty Hero warships allso covered the rear and top and bottom sectons of the fleet.

Time was against the noble and idealistic Farsight Enclave, for it had been a long time since there had been any contact with an outside people. It had been an even longer time since any of the ships had detected planets that were suitable for colonization. A Y'edli, of the Air caste, brought the routine report from the fleet up to O'Shovah. He graciously accepted the data pad, with a practiced courtesy, but he barely glanced at it, because he had more pressing concerns on his mind: a few hours ago one of the Defender starships being used as a scout reported back that they were moving to investigate a strange energy spike they had found. Apparently there was an invisible blob -for no other word would best describe it- floating in space. They Defender received permission to investigate, and that was the last the fleet had contact with its crew.

"Nearing the coordinates, O'Shovah," stated the Explorer's Kor'el, or captain.

"Very good," commented O'Shovah, "Alert the fleet that we are-" O'Shovah's command was cut short as the sound of a massive explosion tore through the interior of every ship in the fleet. A blinding light filled the viewscreens on all ships and it quickly spread to the ship interiors as time itself seemed to slow for the terrified occupants of the Farsight Enclave's fleet. Just as soon as the chaos had started, everything returned to normal. Inside the bridge of O'Shovah's Explorer the sensors and other scientific equipment was working non-stop trying to annalize the data that was pouring in, trying to figure out what just happened.

"O'Shovah! We're picking up a hail from... our lost Defender!" shouted the Explorer's Kor'el, breathlessly.

"Acknowledge hail, and put their Kor'el on the main viewing screen!" commanded O'Shovah.

Seconds later a slightly bewildered, yet happy, Kor'el appeared on the central view screen, "Welcome to our new home, O'Shovah."

For it was true, the sensors could not lie, because they were built to well. The space all around them, not more than a few light years in any direction, was filled with inhabitable planets. Only time would tell if there was any alien races occupying those planets. But for now, O'Shovah was happy that his entire people had made it here, in one piece, no matter how miraculous the journey might have been

Master Haemonculus Urien Rakarth strutted around the bridge of his Torture class Crusier Harbringer Of Despair. He had stored the "recreation session" for the Archite's pleasure and eliminated the final slave revolt in Commorargh.

Just as he was about to report back to the Archite a servitor rambled into his path and started speaking.
"Master, we are picking up signals from an unknown source. Possibly of Tau origin"
"Verify!" He snapped to the slave worker.
The screen flashed up and the Archives verified that it was of Tau origin.

Commander O'Shovah turned his head as his ship's Kor'el approached him.

"Commander," addressed the Kor'el, "We've received a message from a Dark Eldar cruiser identifying itself as the 'Harbringer of Despair.' They're requesting an exchange of goods and technology."

O'Shovah thought for a moment. It was clear that the mighty Tau empire was a small one, indeed, if its galactic accquantances had spread this far into the uncharted galaxy. These Dark Eldar seemed friendly enough, but the Tau empire's experiences with this race of violent and eccentric, but morbidly beautiful, aliens had been one of strife. How was O'shovah to know if the Farsight Enclave's experience would be any different? O'Shovah had few options so had to agree to a meeting between these two peoples.

"Tell them... tell them that we'll meet with them at this location, relative to our fleet's location," commanded O'Shovah as he typed out the coordinates into the ship's navigational computers. "When we meet we'll discuss trade and other topics, but not before."

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY-No man that died in the Emperors service died in vain.

Attention, all escorts. A huge fleet, probably of xenos origin has been detected moving through the warp. They are arriving at coordinates 876413.b846, putting us well within the sensory range of any ship capable of warp travel. However, the lack of expertise in warp-to-materium emergance indicates that the fleet is probably not of Eldar origin, most likely Orks or perhaps mercenary Kroot, although this fleet is more than twentyfive times the size of the largest recorded Kroot fleet.

I intend to move to coordinates 876286.d307, behind the rings of Darugia Secundus. This should allow us to both avoid detection of the larger fleet and also defend both Darugia Secundus, as it is claimed by our glorius Imperium, and our Imperial Guard transports. Should we be detected, I will send further instructions. Do not act on own initiative.

- Cataphract Dearth, Lietuenant Admiral of Patrol Force Tertius

En rout to the rendevous with the Dark Eldar the lead Explorer vessel's sensors picks up multiple signs of Warp-drives that send off warp-signatures known to be emmited from many of the Gue'la (or human) space vessels. The sensor readings were at extreme range and were most certantly the daily goings of the Gue'la vessels and the Farsight fleet hoped that their own travels would go undetected.

Alas tought Commander O'Shovah as he read the sensor readings, Are there no limits to the length the xenophobic Gue'la's reach? They must know that it is impossible to stand in the way of the greater good, but still they throw their soldiers to their death's in the millions, for the name of their dear emporer. Is one man worth so much bloodshed? Aggh... I should not dwell on such trivial matters as the inner workings of the Gue'la's mind. But it is now obvious that we are not alone, at all, in this region of the galaxy. Many powerful foes lie in wait for us. We should be forever vigilant.

OOC: my nation hasnt detected the Imperial fleet, yet. this was just a post to help get the thread moving along.

Lt. Admiral Dearth was furious. He slammed his fist on the datascreen in fornt of the signals-servitor.

"What do you mean, undetected? That fleet is the size of an an entire subsector battlefleet! We name their ships after whales because their lack of stealth! Now you claim we are being watched by an undetected xenos signal? I should rip your servitor arms from their sockets!"

The servitor shrugged back, not as much intimidated by the aggressive Lt. Admiral, rather more in fear of damage to the datascreen.

"Lt. Admiral, I did not imply the signal was from the larger fleet. Apparently, they are not the only fleet within sensor range. I would estimate the probability of an Eldar signal to 73.8%, although Traitor ships have been known to alter their signals, to appear disguised."

The Lt. Admiral immediately got paler.

"Eldar? Here? Emperor's teeth! We must land the transports on Darugia Secundus, and send a distress signal at once."

He picked up a comm-sender from the wall.

"Astropath? Tell all four transports to land at Spaceport Delta. They're here do defend this planet, and defend it they shall. Dearth out."

Commander O'Shovah was in a particularly dire position, indeed. On one had there was the threat of a naval space battle between the Gue'la force and those of the Dark Eldar, that if initiated would no doubt spill over to the fleet of the Farsight Enclave and it's many millions of defenseless casts. On the other hand there was the option of landing on a nearby planet that was defended by Gue'la fleet and undoubtedly controlled by Gue'la warriors.

The only real fortunate thing about this entire cituation was the fact that, upon scan, there were only a few cities on the planet referred to as Darugia Secundus by the Gue'la.

"Form the fleet into a defensive position and be ready to make emergency landings on my commands," Ordered O'Shovah.

The one thing he would hope for would be that the xenophobic Gue'la and the brutal Dark Eldar would soon engage in battle, leaving the planet Darugia Secundus mostly undefended, at which time the majority of the Tau fleet would make emergency landings in their Merchant Class space ships that had been modified to serve as homes upon landing on a new planet. Only time would tell.

"I expected them to at least wait until I got off the ship. Look at the bright side Dearth, now you've got your fight. I trust you to do your duty, the Emperor is watching"

With that, Inquisitor Jericho ran towards the escape pods, leaving Lt. Admiral Dearth to his destiny in the rumbling ship.

OOC: yeah there were... er... "warpstorms" for me too. actually i wasnt home for the past three days :? so i couldnt post. but hey... back now.

IC: The Farsight Enclave's fleet stood off a few million killometers away from the unfolding battle of the Dark Eldar's attack on the Imperial fleet. Looking about the size of a small moon, the collected ships of the Farsight Enclave pulled together into a defensive formation to protect the Merchant class ships that were holding many of the members of the earth and air casts who were similar to "civilians" of the Gue'la.

Against the magnificent size of the Farsight Enclave's fleet, one could hardly notice the relatively small size of a Manta dropship leaving the bay of O'Shovah's Explorer flagship. Taking advantage of the chaos caused by the Dark Eldar attack, O'shovah thought it would be an opportune time to scout out the planet and see if it was really worth taking, or if it was best to move on to an unclaimed planet in a nearby system.

Aboard the manta dropship were five teams of XV15 Stealth Battlesuits, each team consisting of six Tau, totalling thirty of the elite, and slightly eccentric Tau stealth specialsits. Soon they would land upon the unsuspecting planet and begin their close up survey of the planet. Their only problem was getting through the unfolding battle.

The table was filled with papers. Orders, requests, memos and letters of both approval and disproval. Jericho turned paper after paper. He was apparently in a hurry, since he managed to knock over his mug of caffeine. The dark, hot liquid splashed all over the cold stone floor and the feet of his servitor henchman. The servitor didn't even react.

"Damn it! Where are the maps I need, servitor? You told me they would be in this building. I need them when I instruct the colonels!"

"If my memory-circuits are not broken, I remember them to be filed here, although I do not know if they are filed correctly."

Jericho covered his face with is hand.

"So they could be anywhere in this Departo Administratum. Eight floors of hundreds of corridors, with hundreds of rooms, with thousands of books and files."

"High Inquisitor Jericho! Why on holy earth did you insist to move the war room to this place? We apologise for our delay."

Four men in intricate uniforms, all holding the rank of colonel, entered the room. The colonel who had spoken was a man in his mid-sixties with a scarred face and grey hair, at least what was left of it. He introduced himself, while doing the sign of the aquila.

"I am Colonel Lysen, commanding officer of the Valkyrian 24th. These are Colonels de Nero, Braux and Istermann, commanding the Valkyrian 22nd, 23rd and the Valkyrian Armoured 25th. Why have you taken command over us? Does it have anything to do with the hasty landings?"

Jericho noticed three commissars standing in a perfect line in the corridor outside. He felt slightly less worried about the colonels should they show any form of disobedience.

"Well, yes. Apparently, the Glory of Him was attacked by the Eldar. It is probably destroyed by now."

Colonel Lysen raised his brow, surprised that the inquisitor seemed so calm about an alien invasion. Jericho continued.

"The Valkyrian 22nd and 24th will stay here and defend Spaceport Delta. The Valkyrian 23rd will move to Spaceport Alpha, ninety miles to the north-northeast. The Valkyrian 25th will receive special orders. Lysen, de Nero, Braux, you are dismissed. Emperor watch over you."

The three dismissed colonels left the room, leaving only Istermann.

"Istermann", Jericho said. "How loyal exactly are you to the Imperial cause and, more importantly, the God-Emperor?"

"To the Death, Inquisitor. I would gladly lay down the lives of my men and myself for Him-on-Earth."

"Good. And you know, that I, as an inquisitor, always act in the name of the Emperor?"

"Yes, Inquisitor. I am honored by your command, Inquisitor."

Jericho smiled. He knew the 25th's officers were indoctrinated to blind fanaticism. That's why Colonel Istermann wasn't issued a commissar - that would be a waste of resources.

"Good, Istermann. You will receive your orders tomorrow. Dismissed."

Despite the threat of being smashed by a random torpedo or being evaporated by a random beam of energy, the Manta dropship managed to make it through the unfolding space battle, unscathed, and more importantly, undetected.

Aboard the Manta dropship the mission team's Shash'el (Shash'el would be the human equivilent to a "knight" or other high ranking warrior who often leads men) briefed stealth team on the unfolding mission they were about to undertake.

The Shash'el spoke through the team's internal suit's communication's system, the way the Stealth team liked to communicate. Last minute equipment checks were being run through with practiced ease. Their jet packs had to be checked, their holographic distruption generators (that give them their "stealth" ability) had to be checked, their burst cannons had to be checked, and any number of other hard wired wargear had to be checked.

"Initially we were supposed to scout out the strength of the Gue'la Imperial forces on this planet. According to the Tau database the Gue'la Imperial guard has garrisoned this planet with four Valkyrian regiments. We have little information on the performance of these forces, but our mission is not to engage in battle, but merely to observe. As I said before," continued the Shash'el, "Our initial mission was to scout out their garrison strength, but on our way here the Manta's sensors picked up some unusual readings coming out of some ruins that are being defended by the Gue'la forces. So, we will be continuing, more or less, along the lines of our inital misson, but we will be landing at a different location than before. Our strategy has a need to evolve to fit out new circumstances."

The rest of the stealth team laughed. The stealth teams of the Tau are known to operate independently and are known to enjoy a great deal of freedom of action within very broad parameters. The Shash'el checked and readied the gun and shield drones that would be going along with the rest of the stealth teams, and then they waited for their signal to jump.

The interior of the Chimera was badly lit. However, that was the only real downside if the ride. Jericho had requisitioned the chimera for personal use, so he was the only passenger except his servitor henchman.

"Servitor, are we getting close to the site yet? We've been riding in this thing for far too long. I need a rest, and this transport is too noisy."

"Yes, Inquisitor. We should be there in 13 minutes, according to the Chimera's machine spirit. The Valkyrian 25th will arrive approximately five hours after us."

"That will do, servitor. I managed to get the planetary Governor to lend me three storm trooper squads as well. They have been grav-dropped at the temple already."

The Chimera rumbled onwards, stopping some time later. As the back hatch was lowered, Jericho was blinded by a shoulder-light illuminating the interior of the chimera.

"Inquisitor, Sir, It's good to see you here. My men were getting impaitent."

Jericho's eyes adusted, and he could make out the face of the man speaking to him. He was clad in camuflaged carapace armour, but had his helmet removed. It was a man in his early thirties, wearing a buzz-cut and a long scar across his left cheek.

"I am major sergeant Smythe of platoon 114. We would like some questions answered, Sir. What is this place? It's not on any of our maps. And it's quite big, too!"

Smythe pointed at the temple, behind Jericho. The temple was cearly alien-built. It was pyramidal in shape, but taller than wide, some 200 feet high. The walls were long overgrown with plants, but one could still make out shapes in the walls thanks to several seachlights placed by the storm troopers.

"That's classified, sergeant, although I bet you could make a qualified guess. Do you have Subject Z here?"

"Yes Sir. I don't know why you would need this freak, but here he is."

Two storm troopers walked towards them, holding a much smaller man between them. Subject Z. He had his arms chained behind his back, and a blindfold. The storm troopers placed him, quite harshly, in front of Jericho.

"So, Z. Welcome to Darugia Secundus. I hope you appreciate the chance to repay the Emperor for being an abomination."

"I guess I do, Inquisitor. Can you tell me where I am? I can only sense thirty or so individuals. No animals here at all. Strange. Aren't we outside?"

Jericho didn't answer. He was puzzled, though.
`
"No animals?" he thought. "They fear this place, I assume. Should we?

"Inquisitor, look! The sky!"

It looked like thousands of stars were falling over the horizon. The thin streaks of light contrasted perfectly with the clouds, coloured by the not yet risen sun. It would have been beautiful, had Jericho not known it was the Glory of Him

OOC: My fleet is now space-dust. However, when it still existed, it consisted of one cruiser class ship and three escorts. Also I had four transports, but they have already landed.

The Morethadel fleet came out of (whatever) in the enclave with 18 million souls all where of the spicies of Elf that was almost the same in grace except for one problem, to kill some one was a joy to them. A joy beond dout. If they new an opponet was dead they would feel good. They landed on a planet that had a large amount of food. They had been kicked out of the The rest of their race due to their ways of funerals and other aspects of their coulter. They where ruled by someone Who called himself the Whitch King  and under him they had fourght a war that lead to the destruction of the Old and new world , But Khain had fested on that day, Oh how he had fested.

3 days later the camps where up and the city of Talibane was erected from the citys carried on the ships and the Nation of Talibane was formed. They made a large area to witch to buld a Great cannon that would vbe able to defend the city from space fleets.

The stealth team touched down silently about four hundred meters outside the brigthly illuminated pyramid. As the power of the Greater Good would have it, the jump took place the exact same time as debris from the Imperium's ships were raining through the atmosphere, providing perfect cover for their jump.

Without the Shash'el having to say it, the stealth team all turned on their Black Sun Filters (extremely advanced night-vision goggles) and opened up their team communicators.

"You all know not to fire until fired upon," said the Shash'el as the teams closed together in a defensive ring. "We are going to employ the Kauyon formation with my team as the lure. All of the teams of Shash'ui (this translates into "Veteran") will be the flanks providing cover. Stay back, well out of range. I know that the Gue'la are poor at fighting in night conditions, but we still do not want to engage in a fire-fight because they greatly outnumber and outgun us, even with their base technology. Only my team will advance within accurate visual range, and we will advance only for purposes of reconisance. Should any problems arise, meet back at this spot and signal for the Manta Dropship." THe Shash'el paused for a moment and looked at the drones hovering nearby. "For the Greater Good."

"For the Greater Good!" echoed the Stealth teams. And with that, five teams of six XV15 stealth battlesuits moved off through the night in the direction of the pyramid.

Urien smiled in anticipation. The Archite had given him permission to launch an attack Darugia Secundus. He stepped out of the bridge onto the viewing hall.

The balcony overlooked the biggest Dark Eldar army ever made in history. Thousands of Wychs, Warp beasts and various other abominations were standing in the hangar.

"A new power is rising!" He declared as the army made a furious clamor.
"We will butcher them and send the Mon-Keigh back into pit of filth from whence they came!"

The hangar opened and the 200 splnter mines made there way to the city of Jouri Alpha, the capital...

The humans where in the pyrmid and the Tau and their black suits. The scouting party where behind the Tau and aimed at the human closest to them. They then put down an eldar helmat and armour and made it look like the Eldar had lanched the attack. They fired their guns at the same time the Human general found the artifact. The Moreheadel watched in glee as the battle started and ran to a safe place. The battle was starting and no siode new who fired the first shot. The Moreheadel stood and saw the dead Eldar body in the armouer and the blam would fall to them. They watched with no intention of help in their mind.
