At 800hrs this morning 8 Infantry Divisions stationed in Yerffej-held South Carolina and 2 from Yerffej-held eastern Tennessee struck into North Carolina, attacking military bases all over the state. Charlotte and Asheville have already been taken, and the troops are moving lightning fast towards Raleigh. President Bronte has issued this statement:
"This so-called 'attack' is only to protect the citizens of Yerffej from harm. As you may know, the mainland of Yerffej is grossly-overcrowded with people, which is why South Carolina was taken just a few weeks ago. Already too many people have flooded into South Carolina from Yerffej, increasing it's population by nearly five times. Due to protests from South Carolina citizens and more in Yerffej, I have deemed it necessary to take control of North Carolina, to give those families that simply cannot live in Yerffej a home."
The governor of North Carolina has yet to issue a statement on the matter.
After several skirmishes with North Carolina troops, it has been determined that at least 19 Yerffian soldiers are KIA, with more than 80 wounded. Despite these high casualties in such a short time however, Yerffej troops are pushing northward quickly.
