News At Ten:
"Good Evening, you are watching the number one Rhodesian television channel, with the best news from across the Federation and Southern Africa.
"Our top story today is a tragic shooting at a church in the town of Kariba where up to sixty people are thought to have been killed although local officials have yet to release final casualty numbers. it is belived that three gunmen entered during a morning service and opened fire, slaughtering many innocent people before fleeing the scene of the crime. It has howver been confirmed that twenty three of the dead where in fact Lusakan citizens and the reason for their presence there is not yet known.
"When local police reached the scene of the crime they found a video tape recorded by one of the gunmen during the event and we have now acertained custody of it, please be warned the following footage is very graphic and highly disturbing."
*picture flicks to the grainy camcorder image.*
Two white men (as well as a cameraman) are seen diembarking an ageing pick up truck, outside a small clapboard church surrounded by dusty fields, a few buidlings are seen in the distance. The men are then seen to pull guns and plentiful supplies of ammuntion from the back and then oproceed to load up their weapons. The first carries an FN FAL assault rifle while the other is seen to carry a large hunting rifle, with a sawn off shotgun slung across his shoulder.
The camera then jolts as the men advance towards the church, the sound of hymns is heard from inside. Suddenly the large double doors are thrown open and reveal a long aisle and crowded rows of people, all black. At first, in the midst of their passionate singing, they fail to notice the intruders but then the camera shows in startling detail, the second gunman, rasisng the rifle to his shoulder and firing a single bullet down the aisle which hits the minister in the chest, spraying blood over his white robes.
People begin to scream, but the man with the assault rifle then opens fire on full automatic into the crowd, killing at least twenty with one thirty round magazine. While he changes clips the other gunman switches to his shotgun and points it at point blank range at a few more worshippers shouting, "Die Kaffa!" before firing both barrels, killing more, then reloading and firing again. The automatic bursts of the assault rifle continue with another two magazines cutting down the defenceless people.
Some then scramble out of the blood filled pews, crying and screaming, as they throw themselves through stain glass windows to escape. The cameraman then drops his camcorder and then he is seen for the first time, running forwards with a high powered revolver and emptying its chamber in seconds.
As most of the poeple now seem to have been killed or escaped, the gunmen are seen to rush outside, and although the camera does not show it, more gunshots are heard.

We are disturbed by this anti-Christian violence. We wish the authorities to act and make sure these gunmen are sent in coffins to the depths of Hell.

The Roycelandian Government wishes to offer our friends in Rhodesia & Nyasaland our deepest condolences over this senseless killing.
Whilst nominally a Secular nation, the Roycelandian Empire respects all forms of Religion and regards Holy Places with the utmost reverence.
Accordingly, His Imperial Majesty Emperor Royce I wishes it to be known that any and all assistance will be made available to Rhodesia & Nyasaland, as well as Lusaka, to track down those responsible for this savage atrocity.
The Colonial Guard in Roycelandian East Africa are under instructions to capture alive any Rebel or Militant engaging in any Terrorist activities or Atrocities, so that they may be bought to Justice in a fair and civilised way.
As such, if those responsible for this deplorable act are found to be hiding in Roycelandian East Africa, they shall be turned over to the Rhodesian authorities upon capture.

Secretary Miyanda, back at home only for a few hours before his pre-arranged trip across the southern border to Rhodesia and Nyasaland, expressed the shock felt in the United African Republic of Lusaka.
This is, he said, one of the worst terrorist attacks ever inflicted upon the people of the Lusakan nation since independence from Roycelandia more than twenty years ago.
"What can a people do" He asked, "to satisfy terrorists motivated by racist ideology? Vanish? We shall make it clear now that a billion Lusakans will quite simply not vanish. You may gun down one church-goer amongst us, but into her place will step a thousand warriors."
Whether or not President Igomo will maintain Miyanda's confrontational stance is not yet evident. He has thus far openly resolved to direct greater funding towards recording cross-border migration so that at least families may know where their loved ones are during testing times such as this, while efforts begin to identify the Lusakan victims.
"Damn Boer." Muttered a still bitter Miyanda as he climbed aboard the small twin-engine aircraft that would carry him south.

This attack was clearly aimed at Christianity and Black people in general. We are appalled by this action and hope that the fools are caught and brought to a quick death sentance, we hope that the actions that have happened here open the eyes of nations, and have them take steps to protect religion and protect the people from racism. We offer our condolences to the families.

Live Press Conference by Kariba Police Commissioner
The Camera shows the steps of a small, white, colonial style buidling with coulmns and an ornate coat of arms hanging above the double doors, idenityfing this as Kariba Town Hall. Flanking the steps, the flags of the Fefederation.
A white middle aged man stands at a hastily produced lectern, wearing an ornate, white police uniform with gold braid distinguishing from the predominantly black officers standing behind him.
"Ladies and Gentleman, I would like to first of all give my sincere condolences to the people of Kariba who sufered yesterday, as well as the families of the dead. Of course I myself must take partial responsibility for this most savage shooting, for my police ofrce was unable to prevent this atrocicty and currently the gunmen are still at large.
We are now doing everything in our power to search and arrest these killers who's only morale is one of supposed racial purity and we expect there to be more attacks. To counter this threat we will be posting officers at large gatherings and we will activate our local territorial Army regiment to guard our city from these henous people.
Today we found an abandoned Toyota pick up several miles to the East and we now belive the gunmen are members of an organisation known as the Rhodesian Rifle and Game Assocaition (RRGA). We would like to point out that this group is a legal organisation and they have also condemed this attack and our helping tracking down the whereabouts of the killers.
As of now, the coroner has informed me, that fifty eight people have been killed, inclduing twenty three Luisakan citixzens and we will be contacting their government to make arrangments for returning their bodies as soon as we are finished with our forensic examination. Alsoa further thirty eight are in Kariba Hospital, most are in stable condition.
For now, we ask people to continue their normal routine but be vigiliant especially at large gatherings. Thank you."

The Crown and Key Tavern, Tranter, Roycelandian East Africa
Tranter was not much of a town- located near the border with Bukoba Province in REA's Southwest, it was a dry, dusty town, notable only for the Tavern, Petrol Station, Military Outpost, and Customs Shack. With less than 5,000 people in town, the locals got very bored, very easily....
"You know, I hear some Europeans in Rhodesia went and shot up a Church where a bunch of savages were 'praying'" said a large, sunburnt farmer from the end of the bar as he finished off a pint of Elephant Lager.
"Good on 'em" said a younger, but equally sunburnt farmer from over by the Dart Board. "Too many bloody Savages around here as it is. Look at the mess they caused when they'declared independence. They've ruined what was a perfectly good Colony, terrorised honest, hard worked Europeans like ourselves, and they've been trying to boss everyone around since. Perhaps a few random shootings'll put them back in their place."
This was met with a murmur of agreement from the Farmers and Farmhands in the Tavern.
"Maybe we should send some assistance to those guys in Rhodesia?" piped up a youth in a worn military uniform sitting over by the TV, watching the Roycelandia vs. Old Brittania Cricket Test.
"I served in the garrison at Port Imperial, when it was in Lusaka. Shot me quite a few of the Natives, too. They kept giving us shit over how it was their land and all, and some of them tried to have a go at us, nicking our trucks and so on. Well, we showed them good. I've still got a few mates in the Garrison at Congo River, too- including the Quartermaster. I'm sure it would be easy to arrange a few cases of Rifles and some ammo to "accidentally" get offloaded in Rhodesia instead of Coral Palm Island..."
General murmurs of agreement from the others in the bar at this were met with a worried frown by an older man, weatherbeaten and sunburnt, missing his left arm.
"Gentlemen, gentlemen, I hardly think we should be concerning ourselves with the acts of extremists in other, admittedly pro-Imperial nations. The Natives have done us no harm, and the Government treats them as any other citizen. Besides, don't you have farms to tend to?"
"George," said the overweight farmer nearby "Let me buy you a drink. How about a Pint of 'Shut The F*ck Up'?"
"No thank you, Ted, I'm fine. I'll leave you lot to it... It's a long drive home."
With that, George slipped out of the bar and climbed into his EarthRover. Something about the way they were all laughing and throwing things at the Native bartender upset him, although he wasn't sure what to do about it. After all, he'd lost an arm in Lusaka, and really had more important things to worry about than a bunch of bored, racist yokels...

Arusha, north eastern Lusaka
The largest city before Dar es Salaam on the main road into Roycelandian East Africa perhaps unsurprisingly hosted one of the largest white populations in the United African Republic, which over all was something over 85% black. Whites were only the second minority in the republic after the Arabs who populated much of the east coast and were in fact a majority on Zanzibar.
Still, in a country of 1.2 billion citizens even coming off with the lesser share of 15% meant that there were more Europeans in Lusaka than in Belgium, for example.
Reaction in this large community to the slaughter south of them was mixed. The old colonial population had been the main source of opposition to Igomo's rule in the one round of elections held since his presidency officially began in 1980. During the relatively recent Lumbosan war several pro-colonial white groups had almost come to blows with the authorities. These people were largely in support of, "anti socialist movement" and such as they termed the murder of two dozen Lusakan Church-goers.
Other sections of the white community distanced themselves from the atrocity, but a backlash was brewing. Further attacks, or much more agitation from the pro-colonial Lusakan minority threatened to bring reprisal, and judging from the mood on the street there, Arusha might be the epicentre for such.

This appalling event is met with indifference by the Commonwealth government. Analysts state that this is because of the many pressures on the government in the current regional political conflict. It is confirmed that the Secular Party considers sending a clerk to attend the funeral service for the victims, however.

Tete Province, South West Nyasland
Tete province used to be a relatively heavy populated region, with much fertile land along the Zambezi but recently it had become the wildest and poorest province in the Federation.
With a combination of droughts and floods, the farming had been made nearly impossible and the Lusakan war had driven most North to central Nysaland or South to Rhodesia. During the bush wars of the 1980s, the newly independant Lusaka had decided to attack this swathe of land, in the hope of cutting Nyasaland off from the more prosperous and powerful Rhodesia. However the UN sanctions on Lusaka combined with the downfall of their Soviet backers, meant that their war machine could not sustain itself, and in a year of bitter fighting, the Rhodesian Army pushed the invaders back.
Consequently the province of Tete had never recovered and apart from a small tourist industry from local wildlife, the economy is still a burden on the Nyasland government in Blantyre, which already complains of not recieving its fair share of funds from Salisbury.
All of these factors, made the tiny, remote hamlet some one hundred and twenty miles North West of the city of Tete, the ideal location for the headquarters of the 'New Militia.' The local land owner had agreed that the colection of barns and a few buidlings would be for the group to hold its meetings and a long grass strip would be used for light aircraft, one of the primary means of travel in the Federation, for the prosperous whites anyway.
In its first meeting, nearly three hundre, white, armed men congrated inclusing the perpetrators of the Kariba massacre and they plot furter such attacks, while shouting insults against the native peoples and demanding their homeland be free from the 'savages'

for some reason this news dosent suprise me.
My condolences to to the bereaved families of those unfairly cut down before their time in this brutal attack. This was an attack designed to provoke, and I believe that only if you keep your heads in the time to follow, will disaster be avoided.
If in any way, the Republic of Novo Hibernia can assist you in the search for those responsible, please notify us.
I implore the governments of Rhodesia and Nyasaland, Lusaka and Roycelandia to excercise restrait on the extreme right-wing elements of their societies and take serious action before racial tensions snowball into a conflict which will surely devistate South Africa.

Port Imperial, Roycelandian East Africa
Governor-General Philip J. Fry put down the Memo he had received from Colonial Defence Command.
An unusually high number of weapons had been writted off as being "Beyond repair" at the Congo River Facility- at least Five Bren Guns, A hundred Mk III SMLE .303 Rifles, and about 75 of the old .357 magnum service revolvers.
Imperial Armaments weapons were all made to the highest specifications, and when they broke, it was usually in combat after being run over by tanks, blown up by explosives, or having the wrong type of ammo loaded in them.
It was pretty obvious that the guns were being "surplussed" and sold to outside parties without Defence Bureau authorisation... but who? And where?
