Military Training Exercises to be hosted

23-01-2004, 05:16
Reuters

General Norton Dowd, Chief General of the Protectorate of Darien the Great has delivered a statement on Worldwide television announcing the opening of what he calls "Military Proving Grounds."
"It is hoped that the PDG can host a simulated combat environment within its borders. We have reserved some land, which is open to any nation willing to pit its forces against ours. We are wiling to work with nations from as low as a platoon level to as high as a corps.
"Simulated battles will be held between PDG forces and participating nations. This should be an interesting time," remarks the General. "It will certainly increase our knowledge of other weapons systems beyond our own, as well as let people of other nations work together towards a common goal: the improvement of defenses which guard our homes and ways of life."

---------------------------------

OOC: Basically, I'm trying to simulate mini-conflicts... try to get my feet wet in terms of war-RP in NS. The Proving Grounds are broken into 9 sectors, with the upper-left corner being sector (0,0), and the bottom-right being (3,3). Anyone Interested?
23-01-2004, 05:23
we would like to join your military training exercise and test the effectiveness of our new v-8 light battle tanks along with other things..
23-01-2004, 06:05
Using a new OOB in the C R Enterprises Army, Navy, and Marine Corps, we would very much like a ticket in PDG's 'simulated war games' to test our new plans efficency. The nation of C R Enterprises also wishes to recieve valuable training for its armed forces as well as use this 'battle ground' for testing some of our newer armoured pieces.

--Our deepest thanks,
Minister of Defense,
Pasha Stronoslovski
and
Premier of C R Enterprises,

The Protectorate welcomes you to our Proving grounds. CR Enterprises and Tal-Kerillion, Please list the forces you will be bringing, much in the same way Mr. Uganda has for his Sambizian Assault team. Once a decent enough force is collected, We will split the participants into teams and set deployments. Thank you.

What kind of numbers are we looking at here, small squads like 25, or larger? And equipment, is this just an infantry exercise?

We are most definately interested if these questions are answered.
23-01-2004, 17:39
No-Dachi:
You are welcome to bring as many forces as you are willing to allow to participate. Most likely, I'd like a small-level fight: Nothing larger than a divisional scale. All weapons and weapons systems will be allowed in; if you want to bring in tanks, IFV's, you can certainly do that.... let's just keep it civilized and keep nukes out of this, okay?

Barentsburg:
For now, I'll keep it to a Land and Air Battle. I'd like to involve the seas, but I think that would be too much to keep track off, given that a new college semester's starting.

Remboland:
Proving Ground Quarters have been provided for your DIRT team. Could you please deliver a manifest of the gear they have with them, or are you going to use items from my armory?

ESF, No-Dachi, and Barentsburg: Your Forces have been quartered within the Proving Grounds.

Falmir:
Send what you want... remember, I haven't declared what forces will be attending from my end. :D If anything, I will fold all the others and myself into one side, and you can be the other.

Montezuma:
Because you are only observing, your men will be quartered within the Nation, but will not be able to access the battlefield. You will observe from the command bunker situated just outside the Proving Grounds. Satellite Uplink will be provided.

OOC:
Speaking of which, Some guidelines:
 Satellite imagery (okay, so it's a Paint Job... sue me :D ) has been provided for all participating nations:

web.njit.edu/~dsa4/NS

You will also find my full disposition of forces on that page.

 Once enough people have committed forces to the Proving Grounds, a new thread will be started to mark combat actions.
 Activity on the Proving Grounds will be held for approximately 2-3 months (2-3 IRL weeks, maybe more if things go well.)
 You will be assigned to either A or B team. At the start of this exercise, You will start at either an A or B base; no other areas will be claimed at the beginning.
 Bases will be capable of launching, arming, refuelling, and repairing aircraft.
 Bases CAN BE CAPTURED.
 FARPs (Forward Arming and Refuelling Points, marked on the map) are areas suitable for ammo/fuel dumps. These areas are where ground vehicles and helicopters can take on supplies. NOTE: Because of their small size and remoteness, airplanes CANNOT land at FARPs.

That's all for now. Questions, comments, shoot me a telegram.
23-01-2004, 21:54
Double post....
23-01-2004, 22:29
Oh well then no problem il just make it an even division then if thats alright.

10 more artillery detatchments and 3 more infantry battalions.

I forgot about aircrafts, I would like to field 4 Air Superiority squadrons, each consists of 9 aircraft. Half would be MiG-29 and half would be SU-35.

24-01-2004, 17:53
well actually Darian your forces are larger than everyon else's combined so :P

you know a battalion holds no more than 1000 men usually, mine holds betweene 500 and 1000 so mine being the secong larges force is like a fifth of yours :P

Also Kitty is fielding three divisions. I dont know the size of those divisions but a division is normaly 10-20.000 men

So whilst you have more than 7 divisions on your team, we have like 1-2

So i would have to say that the teams are horribly unfair

Edit: if I didnt make a mistake I believe this is how it stands

Alpha team: 12.000-13.000
Bravo Team: 60.000+
24-01-2004, 18:03
OOC:
...Oh. That's what I get for being an Air Force guy... Don't know Army disseminations.

IC:

Good point, Falmir. I guess I'll be the whole of Bravo team, then. I'll also reduce the size of my committed forces. Rechek my Order of Battle and team listing :D 2 hours until Proving Ground exercises commence.
24-01-2004, 18:11
ooc: excellent :), I reckon this will be fun
24-01-2004, 18:51
One hour, 10 minutes until Entry into the Proving Grounds are closed. Please reply within this time to confirm your forces, make any modifications, etc.

Remboland, Please give me information as to your DIRT Team's equipment.

Clock's Ticking, folks... this should be good.
