Armour/Self Protection
modular passive armour
Add-on Passive Armor
Enhanced protection against projectiles and artillery fragments
Modular add-on armor
Minimal effect on vehicle maneuverability
Lightweight
Easy to handle and maintain by field crews
Operational in extreme temperatures
etc...
V-8 "Scoundrel" implements a new protection concept which uses modular armour, augmented with active, passive or reactive modules, to suite threat and operational requirements.
it also includes Montgomery titanium armor, a layer of Tungsten.
and an option for electrical effect armor (EEA)
Multi-Option "Zvezda-8B" Jammers: These are multi-purpose jamming devices designed to stop incoming missiles and confuse an enemy targeting the V-8 "Scoundrel"
Each firing launches two Chaff rockets, two Flare rockets, and the tank begins emitting a large cloud of smoke, both standard and Anti-Laser Prismatic aerosol; The Chaff rockets detonate and spread Chaff over the area, the flare rockets floating down by parachute; Effects last for 4 minutes, The Chaff rockets have a big chance of interfering with the course of enemy missiles each that are radar guided so that they miss the tank. The flares have the same purpose, except with IR-guided missiles. The Anti-Laser prismatic aerosol confuses any laser beam striking the tank.
in IR range: thermal insulation of the roof and shutters, ventilation of the engine-transmission compartment;
in visual range: low silhouette, camouflaged painting, smokeless engine exhaust, smokescreen laying and entrenching equipment;
in acoustic range: rubberized elements in running gear wheels and tracks for noise reduction;
in radar range: electromagnetic wave deforming/absorbing coating.

The redesign of the hull around the installation of the new powerpack has provided improved frontal armour protection and improvement to the driver's field of view. For improved reverse driving the driver uses a camera.
A new feature of the tank is that the fitted modular special armour covers the turret. The tank is protected against a range of threats, including air launched precision guided missiles and advanced and top attack anti-tank weapons. Automatic fire detection and suppression has been installed. The underside of the hull has been fitted with additional armour protection against mines. The driver and crew compartments are equipped with heating and cooling air conditioning and a Shalon Chemical Industries combined individual and overpressure protection systems against contamination by NBC warfare.
It is fitted with the Kerillian “Death-Claw-5E” system for the jamming and engagement of incoming anti-tank missiles.
"DeathClaw-5E" Anti-Missile defense system: the "DeathClaw" is something like a mine, there are 15 charges, mounted on a rotating post on top of the turret and capable of showering both enemy ground troops and incoming missiles in a hail that could annihilate said missiles or ground troops. it is a fearsome close-up weapon when modified with shrapnel and explosives. the "DeathClaw" can be used as a positively horrific weapon against infantry attempting to get up close to the tank.
Maximum Effective Range: 164 feet (50 meters).
Rate of Fire: Up to all charges can be used in one time.
Payload: 20 explosive charges.
it also includes the following:
Smoke/Gas Dispensers (2): A smoke/gas dispensing unit is attached to each side of the APC. The dispenser releases a dense cloud of smoke that covers a 40 foot (12.2 m) area in front of the vehicle, It can also release tear gas. The dispenser can dispense prismatic aerosol for dispersing laser beams. This has the same effect as prismatic aerosol grenades. The effects of the prismatic aerosol is combined with the laser resistant materials that compose the armor if the later tanks when they are used together.
Payload: 20 total; 10 charges each; typically 10 smoke, 5 prismatic aerosol, and 5 tear gas.
Infrared Laser Jammers are Mounted on the upper forward corners of the hull these are jamming devices designed to stop incoming missiles, though actually the lasers fire wide beams of IR light at incoming missiles. When an IR guided missile is hit by the lasers its seeker is blinded.

FIRE CONTROL AND TARGETING
Part of the Scoundrel’s fire control system is the Arbalet-b millimeter wave radar made by Tal-Kerillian
http://venus.walagata.com/w/jcdenton/Sabra.jpg
The Scoundrel is fitted with the 1A6GT fire control system.
The 1A5GT fire control system includes:
- The gunner's 1A43 day fire control system
- A laser range finder
- The driver's TVN-5 infrared night viewer
- A second-generation television sight and automatic thermal target tracker
- An integrated operating system which includes advanced data communications and battle management
- Arbalet-B millimeter wave radar
- Infrared tracking system
The computer controlled fire control system includes line of sight stabilisation in two axes, a second-generation television sight and automatic thermal target tracker, a laser range finder, an improved thermal night vision system and a dynamic cant angle indicator. The commander's station is fitted with a stabilised panoramic day and night sight. The integrated operating system includes advanced data communications and battle management.
The Scoundrel is fitted with the Arbalet-B millimeter wave radar system.

The Arbalet-B milimeter-wave radar/warning sensor is mounted on the back of the turret and can be extended to a height of 14 feet (4.2 meters). This will allow the crew to see over obstacles, and to perform observations without exposing the entire Tank. it also includes a set of enhanced vision optics, with a magnification of 50 times.
it also provides early warning of incoming aircraft and missile attacks.
Data processor: Ts181F

Weaponry:
Main armament: it has an all electric turret with 135 mm Electro-Thermal Chemical Gun
A Vidco thermal shroud on the gun reduces bending of the barrel resulting from environmental and firing conditions. The gun can fire higher power munitions including new 135mm ScramJet projectiles and guided shells/missiles. The loader can select semi-automatically the ammunition type. The tank carries 41 rounds of ammunition each stored in a protective container. An electrically operated revolving magazine contains 10 ready-to-fire rounds.
The tank is fitted with 7.62mm machine guns and a Kord heavy HMG and an internally operated 60mm mortar system developed by Zvezda Ltd. The mortar can fire explosive and illumination rounds to a range of 3,500m.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
propulsion:
GD 883 V-12 Diesel Engine
The V-8 "Scoundrel" is powered by a B-15 diesel engine, The engine compartment and one fuel tank are at the front of the tank and two fuel tanks are at the back.
The tank has automatic five-gear transmission rather than four gears, The single position rotary shock absorbers are installed externally.
