I'm wondering if anyone is actually going to take this seriously enough to invade.... I started it primarilly to find out.

As the shadow loomed over Arena (the Capital City of Warmongering Lunatics), klaxons blared. The citizens instantly scattered, fleeing into the bomb shalteres that dotted the city.

A messenger reported the attack to the High Council:
"Honored Council, the weapon that struck the city seems to be a giant boot.... It destroyed a stretch of the city over ten miles long! At least 17 people have been reported missing already."
"Whatever will they think of next?" wondered one of the council members. "Ah well, I still favor the old fashioned methods, myself. Send Group S/R 5 to begin clearing up the damage. Also, prepare a room in the nearest hospital to deal with any injuries."

The Eriopian troops reach the border. They see a thickly forested area with one road leading through it, guarded by a row of fairly realistic cardboard cutouts.

Nine border guards stare at their dead companion for a moment, then turn without a word and fire a volley at the attackers from Lexwolf.

"OPEN FIRE!!!" the eriopian troops draw bullet holes in the cut outs then repeadtly stomp on them they march on to the capital!!!

Gunshots fill the air as Warmongering Lunatic Border Guards open fire on the eriopian troops from hiding places in the trees.

Xeraph is deploying it's Itty Bitty Teeny Weeny Paintball Squad to stop your aggressive stance. You will stand down, or Crossman will kick your ass with the other boot he has.

Meanwhile, in Arena, a mysterious figure in a blue robe writes quickly in a notebook....

Three squadrons of F-117 Nighthawks taxied for take-off. They carried a deadly arsenal of bombs, this was no exersice. They carried live BLU-109 warheads, their targets, key military and government targets, in preperation for a full scale invasion. They took off into the night sky, disappearing into the dark.

At the same time, the General incharge of the invasion forces briefed his Officers.

"Alright, this is the plan. 3rd and 8th Marine Divisions will make a naval landing here and here. 37th Rangers will assualt throught the forest, with support from the 459th Mobile Artillery Brigade. The 4th Armoured Div. and 8th Armoured Infantry Div. will move through here, with air support from the Air Force 127th Tactical Ground Attack Squadron and Army 15th Attack Helicopter Squadron. 129th Airborne Div. will drop in here, here, here, and here. Other units will be in reserve should the main force encounter problems. The Air Force has already begun it's bombing of key targets. Now, go brief your men, and gear up, we'll be attacking tomorrow night."

The officers reported back to their units.

Soon, the Stealths began their mission, slipping by the enemies radar and lining up for attack. The Invasion was on.

M.L. had not yet acquired an air force, and was virtually defenceless against the attack. All targets except the massively armored Council Headquarters are destroyed. 38 dead, 47 wounded. (This sort of thing was planned for; the citizens have all practiced rapidly escaping into shelter.)

As the forces move up through the southern border they encounter numerous small groups of resistance fighters but crush them with minimal causulties.

The most eastern town of significant size is Blade, population: 534 at last census.

Everyone- I'm probably not going to be posting much longer, but I'll be back.
This is starting to work out quite well, now that people are responding more than once. :twisted:

IC:
Coming up towards a town the force gets a radio call signaling that all bombing squadrons are needed at the capital.
In the ensueing hours they set up a base camp and are surprised to find what appears to be a dead big foot. The force is studying it when an enemy force approaches.

OOC: How lighthearted do you want this? And the tanks are armed with a single Colt 45.

IC: The Hobos, repulsed by the villagers stout defense halt on the city borders, uncertain of what to do. Then, a large figure, that of Cnl. Scum McDonald, strides forward, brandishing the Pandhandling-hat of Doom. Shaking it vigorously, it emits a loud shriek that only a hobo can withstand.

The 32nd Division is hit hard by the weapons of the border guards, which seem strangely real. A full 30% fall before ever reaching fighting distance, and another 15% are wounded severely. The rest, bloodied and weary, brandish their razor sharp hobo-sticks, and charge into the murderous fire.

OOC: Figure there are 550 hobos left in the 32nd.

OCC: This looks rather intresting, as ive been told from my sources... - Emperor Infeuruen.

IC: The Empire of Infeuruen, sends 45 Elite SAS Troops, through the same paths as the Elvien Security Forces after Captian Thomas More requested specialist reinforcements.

There is further movement through the border, although The newly crowned Empire, have developed a fast moving, stealthy attack force, crushing their enemies with great force.

OOC: Going to bed. If you'd post casualities and lemme know about how serious to take this it'd be much appreciated. You could always TG me your ID too :wink:

As the hobos approach rapidly, the border guards toss aside their rifles and produce an assortment of hand-to-hand weapons. Several of them have fallen to the tanks and Model-Ts.

I am amazed by your stratergies, althought your armed forces arnt matched to the SAS Troops that were deployed. There is no exact location of where they are since they operate in Guerella tatical movements. I am aware of the position of this current situation, but little do know know I am great allies with the Region of United Clan Overdosed States.

OOC: The townsfolk are helpless, now. The hobos fighting the border guards are probably sufficiently numerous to take out all they are fighting with (several dozen), though they will take quite a few losses as well.

We cannot stand idly by, when the mentally challenged are attacked. We will therefore deploy Armygroup VII (consisting mainly of light infantery - "The Bickering Mother-in-Laws" and "Lousy Banjo-Players") and 2nd Artillery division equipped with the much feared DeCaf-Cannon to the centre of Warmongering Lunatics.

They are under order to cooperate fully with the military of WL in the defence of their glorious nation.

IC: The High Council extends deep thanks to High council of the CiG-Nation. Our biggest threat at the moment seems to be to the east, though Arena has been attacked several times by air.

SAS Troops arrive at the township, they split into groups, as half patrol the area, while the rest take rest within the township and its people, most heading to the Bistrol for some 3rd leg relief.

Back at the Capital Elvendon E.C. the Stealth Bomber squadron informed the Commander of the situation. The commander surprised at the finding of dead big foot decides to take a more agrressive stance.

Comm:"More i want you to move in and occupy all towns you come across and if possible engage them at thier capital. We are sending the Elite 79th Ops team to reinforce you. You must complete this mission with 72 standerd hours"

They slowly progress towards the capital leaving behind a dispatch of 25 troops in every twon/ city they come across.
Finnaly they cross a river and prepare for the Siege and Go mission.

Having been informed on the hot spots, General Vimes (Infantery Commander of our forces in WL) orders two special divisions of his "Bickering MiL's" - The "You Ain't Good Enough For My Son" and "Have You Washed Behind Your Ears" - to the eastern front, while keeping the rest in reserve.

Twentyseven Anti-air DeCaf-Cannons are now being placed in and around Arena, which should be more than enough to insure the protection against most conventional size airraids.

After a few short hours of containment More finds the big foot colony and orders his troops to use the tranks. They succeed in bringing 5 down befor the rest of them regroup and attack.

OOC: Sorry if I confused people there - I stated in my initial post, that I had both infantery and artillery with me. It's of course the infantery which moved to the eastern front, while the artillery set up some of their anti-air cannons.

During a strategy session in the general staff of the CiG-troops, the Mobile HQ where the meeting took place was suddenly buried in paper planes.

Until our senior officers can be dug out, our troops have been temporarily placed onder direct command of the WL.

This have caused a slight drop in the morale of our troops, but they will carry on nevertheless.

If anyone comes through the south they will be ambushed and either killed or arrested by my national guard.
The 1st and 2nd infantry division have both lost substansial forces and have been ordered back to the homeland. To replace them are the 8th Special Ops and 11th tank support divisions armed with the newly required Lar-25 assult rifles.

OOC: Sorry, and dont worry about me sending in troops, it'll still be fun ;) If you want my losses to be real I'll be more serious, if not, then hopefully you'll get some laughs before your country is over ;)

IC: The 21st Hobo Division is down to 784 out of 1000 original members, and the 32nd is down to 136. The two are currently holding down the fort in Blade, eager to rest and smoke.

The Cripple Divisions, moving quickly in their motorized AT-AT walkers (think Empire Strikes back from Star Wars) and are heading to Blade as well.

Meanwhile, the Argyri navy and air force cover the Argyri invasion force sails towards the southwestern coast of WL. In addition, a second Argyri invasion force, with even more soldiers involved, is being loaded in Metropolis, great port of Argyres. Calls are made to the countries of the Argyri Commonwealth for aid in crushing WL.

The Marines hit the shores. Troops poured out of AAV-7's onto the sandy beaches, ready to fight. There was a breif fire fight on the beach-heads, but the two Marines Divisions quickly overcame the resistance and began their push inland as Landing Hovercraft brought armour ashore.

On another front, thousands of troops, APC's, and M1A2 Abrams tanks prepared for action. The commanding officer for the Armoured Infantry peered through binoculars at the defenses awaiting them. "Alright, tell the Arty boys that I want a saturation bombardment of the NE line of defenses, and I want them to drop shells on the SW bunkers, take them out." "Yes sir!" A young radio op. replied and contacted the Artillery battery setup behind them.

The commander on the other end relayed the orders to several lines of M-109's. He got on the radio, "All guns, commence fire!" All the guns of the battery roared to life. They ceased fire 30 minutes later.

Commanders of the Armour and Armoured Infantry gave the order. Soldiers loaded into APC's and the attack force moved on the WL boarder defenses. The tanks opened fire at the 500 meter mark. Anti-tank cannons returned fire, but were no match for the heavy armour and powerful cannons of the M1A2 Abrams advancing on their position. Infantry, riding in their Coyote and LAVIII apc's prepared for battle. At 350 meters the APC's stopped and the infantry dismounted. Thousands of troops and armour were now advancing and engaging the boarder defenses of WL.

Meanwhile, MH60K Blackhawks inserted Ranger teams into the forests just outside WL boarders. Ranger Snipers took up positions and took aim at boarder gaurds in towers. The Rangers moved out, and engaged the boarder outposts in the forest.

The Invasion had begun, and was going according to plan.

F-117 Nighthawks took the skies again, this time, with bunker-busters. Again, their targets were military bases and outposts. Their instructions, to ensure as little damage to the civilan population as possible.

Through his set of binocolars More spots the Argyres ships coming down the coast. He ordered his troops to move out to meet these forces and purprose working in unison to take out the commen enemy.

Fellow troops, my name is Col. Jack Sincle, and I have been appointed by the Joint Chiefs and the Prime Minister to take the following actions against "Elves Security Forces" for their constant refusal to heed the demands of our new and benevolent Council.

As per this order, we are mobilizing 200 of our F-15's, 50 on each of four aircraft carriers, in addition to twelve supporting cruisers, twelve destroyers, and several dozen P.T. boats. In addition, 40 modified B-2 bombers, with extra fuel boosters and with a two mid-air refulings, shall be able to attack ESF from our homeland. The entire operation shall be supervised by myself and monitored from the sky through our AWACS corps.

Military command has chosen to strike against ESF's capital and three major cities, the names having been classified (OOC: Please provide names and descriptions of all cities, thank you.)

10 of the B-2's, escorted by and assisted with 50 F-15's shall blitz these cities, allowing for the bombing of key military and intelligence targets. We shall take every assurance to limit the loss of life, but regret that a total absence of civilian casualties is impossible.

[b] Here, the fight would be toughest, but sending 10 B-2's and 50 F-15's would still overpower the enemy, especially since it had no air force above the capital. The B-2's eagerly unloaded their 100, 200, and 500 pound bombs all over the infantry divisions, government buildings, and command and control centers. Due to their eagerness, the failure of intelligence to inform them of the Anti-Air missiles, and sheer luck by those anti-air batteries, five whole bombers were downed (a staggering number,) three of them before being able to unload their cargo. The F-15's had a better time out there, as they faced no enemy fighters, and instead concentrated on firing radar and GPS-guided surface-to-air missiles at command HQ, the anti-air batteries, and other "targets of opportunity." These did take some hits, however, as they were not informed of the anti-air defenses until after two fighters were downed, and their total losses numbered:

7 F-15 lost, 4 damaged. The pilot of one of the damaged fighters later had to eject after damage to the fighter prooved to extensive and fuel leaked, although his parachute was spotted by fellow pilots the EAF (Esamopian Air Force) has lost contact with her and she has been reported missing.

Here the F-15's had some action and were by now being informed of the anti-air threat from the AWACS circling the skies of ESF. They went into formation against the enemy fighters that scrambled to meet them, and the battle was intense. AWACS report that only 30 fighters are operational, some with heavy damage, while twenty have been downed. The EAF is unsure as to the fate of most of those pilots, and has placed most on the "Missing/ Failed to return to base" list.
The B-2's, being effectively protected from enemy fighters, scored major hits by avoiding anti-air instillations and moving only when fighters were engaging those anti-air batteries. Damage to the ground has proven extensive, but is still unknown. Two B-2's were downed from enemy surface fire, and one was damaged and later destroyed when a small fighter squadron engaged an unprotected bomber.

In the first full rout of the fighting, ironically against the smallest target city, Esamopian F-15's pinned down the Kittyhawk division but were caught off-guard by unidentified enemy fighters. The hesitation caused the downing of more than 15 fighters before a retreat was sounded. Most B-2's survived the incident, only two unloaded their bombs, however, and the rest were withdrawn before engaging the city's infantry and National Guard units due to the fighter rout. Two retreating B-2's were shot down however, before some semblance of order was restored in the air.

All aircraft are returning to their carriers.

Rules say, anymore than 10% of your pop. is godmodding. Your full military strength, including civilan members and support, couldn't be greater than 7.8 Million, despite whatever little wods you choose to put before your nation's name. And even 10% should be godmodding, something like 2-4% would be more realistic. So, no, you could not possibly have the resources and economic support to send 8 million troops, that would be your entire military, including civilan members, and then some.

oh...so the max is 7.8 million????? well then. i will fire 200 000 of them :P

OOC: This is a democratic country, formed by a group of people who consider war beneficial to the world. They claimed previously unoccuppied territory to found the Federation of W. L. The borders are not closed, and any citizen who is not of like mind with the others is free to leave. Elections are held for half the council every 2 years (4 year terms), and any member of the council, including the High Council, can be called upon by the people to resign at any time.

Rangers came under fire and dove for cover.

A Rangers Sgt. got on the radio. "This is Bravo 6-4 requesting a CAS strike."

"Roger, switching to FLIR and searching for heat signature. Bravo 6-4, I've got multiple signatures, switch on your IR strobes for identification."

"Roger that 5-1. Everyone, strobes on, IR filter!"

"We got your position 6-4, targets Identified, coming in hot."

Half-a-dozon AH-64 Apaches made a gun run, firing rockets and machine guns into the dense forest, raining rounds down on top of enemy positions.

"5-1 is coming in for a second pass."

The group of apaches turned around, again firing into the enemy positions.

"Guns dry, 6-4, heading for re-arm point. You got a spectre inbound for further air support, should be on your station in 5 minutes. Good luck."

The Rangers rose and slowly and carefully advanced.
About 2/3 of the guards were killed, including all in tree-top hiding spots; only 23 survived, those who were hiding in prepared tunnels deep enough to withstand the attack. 2 of these, with 3 soldiers in one and 2 in the other, are blocked by the collapse of the entryways. These guards work on digging a way out; the other 18 remain in hiding, weapons aimed at the entrances.
OOC: They'll fire at anyone who enters, but most have to reload after every shot, or just a few, due to low-cost equipment. If you decide to root them all out, feel free to post the complete battle (such as it is). Most tunnels have 2 or 3 people in them.

Dundaine has decided to pull its forces out of this rather pointless and stupid war we need them in another war we are involved in'

Well its bout time WL.
We at the RESF are nuetral due to conflicts in other planets. Although i can be swayed one side or another depending on the size of the check or the measure of benifets( :lol: ).

Rangers surrounded what was left of the tunnels. A senior officer shouted:
"Rangers! Drop your weapons and come on out of those holes with your hands up! Don't make us kill you!" Meanwhile, Ranger Engineers prepared explosives for the tunnels that did not surrender.

The troops and tanks began close fighting with the boarder forces in the desert region of WL. The M1A2 tanks had fire and armour suppriority over the WL forces. The troops jumped into the trenches as the tanks and APCs provided support. The boarder had already been breached in a number of spots. It was only a matter of time as the fighting got more intense.

Marines had regrouped, meetup with their armour, and were now advancing inland. The two divisions overcame small pockets of resistance and moved in on the first large city.

Just out of curiosity, what do you need allies for?

3 Rangers are killed, 7 injured. Two platoons rush the wounded to an evac point. The engineers return the favor, tossing stachel charges into the remaining tunnels. The charges detonated, destroying the tunnels. The Rangers advanced. A Captain removed his beret, and looked around. He noticed a man moving, a WL boarder gaurd. "Medic! I need medic here, this guy's still alive!" Other men called for medics for the downed enemies. The captain looked around at destruction from the explosions. "Well, this is going pretty well so far...." He muttered to himself quitely as two Rangers carried a wounded fellow Ranger away to the evac point.

OOC: Because I don't like going the route alone. I could do it on my own, hell, I could carpet nuke your nation and end this in a second if I really wanted too. Just your luck, I don't like using nukes so aggresivily. :wink:

The troops in the NE loaded up into their APCs. They had won the first battle, but at a cost, 9 were dead, and 12 wounded. Several vehicles had been damaged in the assault.

OOC: Because I don't like going the route alone. I could do it on my own, hell, I could carpet nuke your nation and end this in a second if I really wanted too. Just your luck, I don't like using nukes so aggresivily. :wink:
OOC: Good point... I'll certainly agree that it's best to have allies, even when not neccessary.
Of course, that (nukes) was the one thing I asked everyone not to do, and the guy with the notebook I mentioned earlier would have been a bit annoyed. Just a bit, but still not a good thing for anyone in the area.

One hour after dusk, three hundred WLs armed with a combination of archery equipment, darts, and hand-to-hand weapons sneak out the back gate. Five are armed with rocket launchers. Clad completely in black, they silently approach the H I encampment. They have been practicing stealth and silence, for one reason or another, for most of their lives.
OOC: The troops in the east would probably encounter the soldiers from CiG, but I'm not sure exactly what those forces are....

A spectre gunship flew over the encampment. "We got multiple heat contacts just outside of the base." A crew member reported to the pilot. "Probably our guys." The pilot replied. "This is gunship 190 to Marines base, get your guys to pull in a tighter permeter, they're a little far out." "Roger that Gunship 190, we'll keep that in mind."

A youg Marine wearing NV Goggles tapped on his friends shoulder. "I think I saw something, over there." "You're just imagining things." His friend replied. "But I was sure... Let's just keep an eye on that area, alright?"

Three directions. One seaborne, one through the desert, and another through the woods. There is also an airborne group inbound that will drop in at various points in the country side. Exact directions will take a moment (have to find his post with the boarder info in it).

We are already in WL, the boarders have already folded. All our forces are in WL territory now.

A small band of seven W L soldiers loose arrows at the two Marines, then retreat as quickly as they can without making any significant noise. Around the edge of the camp, other such groups sneak about and take any opportunity they discover to strike at the H I troops without being seen.
Most inhabitants of Cutlass are in bomb shelters, but there are guards out watching for a foe they can fight, and the city is not as secure as Arena. Death toll at this time: 54, 137 injured.
OOC: Of course, nobody is perfect and the W L troops have "less than optimal" equipment. Some of them are bound to be noticed, before or after attacking. You know how good your defenses are against the likes of this; you decide how frequently this happens. The current attack groups range in size from 5 to 10.

At the moment, there is little we can do to help your development, but we are happy to provide any assistance we are capable of for the duration of the alliance... be that a week, or ten thousand years. At an undisclosed military location there was much buzz about a war about to brew. All aircraft were put on standby and be ready for take off. Out at sea the Small fleet was prepared to make a quick operation. And all infantrymen and snipers not positioned inside a city of 3,000 or more were being but on high alert to be deployed.

For now, defense would be most usefull.

After reuvaulating the situation we decided to send 13 more bradleys and all of our stealthcraft. On the road the bradleys had to go over speed bumps.

The Federation of W L sends thanks to those who have come to our assistance.

Our military is holding troops at their current position, pending a decision on whether or not to continue the current actions in WL, facing increasing oppisition.

The Marines heard the arrows go by, one even hit and stuck into a Marine's body armour. The alarm was raised, every troop put on alert. Commanders began gathering their men and orginizing patrols. Lights were shut off in the base, and every soldier put on their night vision goggles. One soldier spotted movement on the permeter, and fired several bursts at the moving object.

All forces deployed this morning ( it was morning for me =] ) have arrived in Southern WL and are on search and destroy missions against Horizon Island Forces.

A decision was made, Horizon Island would withdraw it's ground forces. The cheif of staff had decided that this war was not worth the loss of life that experts predicted given rising support for WL. HI forces have already begun to withdraw. In an offical statement, the cheif of staff was quoted as saying, "This is a time where we must choose our battles wisely. This battle is not one that is worth the lives of our men and women. WL is a free and democratic nation, we can no longer justify this war to even ourselves. Our forces are already on their way home."

OOC: One hit?! They're armed with bows because they know how to use them, including in the dark. Your people were talking, and even at night it isn't pitch black. Seven shots by skilled archers and one hits?!?! Arrows aren't as fast as bullets, but they can still kill... especially in a surprise attack.
IC: Three W L soldiers go down under the HI gunfire. As soon as the others realize they've been noticed, they switch to Part II of Plan A. 200 retreat to assorted hiding places, most in the tops of trees. Those in some areas have orders to fire as soon as motion is detected; others are to watch and wait for the best opportunity. Most of those near the camp are the latter. The other 97 (minus the three killed) sneak to one of several pre-arranged meeting points... the one furthest from where the gunfire was heard. They travel widely around the camp to avoid detection. They wait for a short period of time, then move towards the camp.

It should be clear that safety, or for that matter self-preservation, are not the highest priority of the Federation of Warmongering Lunatics. However, if this thread keeps others from following my example, then I am pleased to have accomplished something. I am also pleased that people are enjoying my meager attempt at entertainment. :D
