Kahta to be Cloning Dinosaurs

Kahta

Kahta is planning on creating dinosaur clones. We will be making herbivores only, to be put on islands similar to Jurrasic park.

Currently we have scarcely none of the desired DNA. If your country has dino DNA, please donate it to this project. You will be rewarded.

What kind of reward?

And, why not carnivores, or omnivores?

And, why not carnivores, or omnivores?

Would you want dinosaurs that have a taste for human meat?

OOC: From what I have done for biology papers the cloning of dinosaurs is impossible. Yes, there is like a billion to one chance you might find traces of the DNA, but you won't find all the nessesary sequenses. How would you fill in the holes in the sequence?
One other point the herbivores need to 1. have a natural predator (I'm not talking about humans!) or 2. be sterile. Otherwise the island's vegation could not keep up with the nutrional demands of a full grown saurpod for example.

I know I'm a bit of a nit picker.

You are right. DNA from amber only gives partial sequences. So you know what they did in the JP book? They 'filled in the gaps' with dna from modern animals (Frogs, birds, reptiles) and this caused some signifigant problems with the dinosaurs breeding out of control.

And of course they would be sterile! Would you want to have too many dinosaurs roaming around? :)

Let's say you have a scrap of dino DNA. How do you know what kind it is? You see a Cydocine what Guanine do you slap next to it? Bird? Frog? Reptile? I'm sorry but cloning dinosaurs is impossible.
But cloning the mammonth, that's another story. Since it was frozen intact the DNA was intact too so scientist can use that as a starting point. So mammonths are possible to clone.

Um yeah, Liberated America posesses Pulp from the teeth of a Stegosaur, 2 Billion for the lot.

Largent highly disagrees with your actions but will not stand in the way of science. We wish to be contacted when cloning has been done so that our scientists may progress in this feild.

"Oh no." President Masaki (that's me) groaned. I once had problems with runaway dinosaurs. Raptors nearly made a meal out of me, but it was a good thing I was a Jedi.

OOC: Actually, the best chance to clone dinos would be to use bird, not frog DNA, since it is generally accepted that birds are the closest descendants to dinos, especially the velociraptors, Gallimimus, and other long-legged fast-running dinosaurs.

IC: We have found amber containing Triceratops DNA, and the DNA of a Diploducus, a saurpod like Brachiosaurus. 500 million per fossil.

Ravea regrets to inform you that the only dinoaur DNA we are curently in possession of is that of a Megaladon. However, if you want a giant shark devouring everything in the ocean, then we can negotiate a price.
