Due to the conflict with Elizabethshire, the scheduled date for the general election was postponed. However, elections quickly got back on track and the results were as follows:
General Perez, Cayan Socialist Workers Party - 65%
Dr Camillio Cienfugos, Cayan Naionalist Party - 25%
Mr Pepito Gomez, Cayan Liberal Party - 6%
Mr Ernesto Armandez, Cayan Anarchist Front - 2%
Mr Samuel Duabwe, Cayan Conservative Party - 2%
All votes have been verified by independant officials from the United Nations, and therefore General Ernisto Perez is the winner.
Following the revolution, Perez' official position was that of "Protector of the Republic" pending election. Now he will be moved from this position to presidency. The following will take place:
*Perez will be required by law to give up his military status and title, and instead adopt the title of "Presidente".
*The party which Perez represents, The Cayan Socialist Workers Party, will now put forward candidates to stand for election into the Cayan Council for People's Power, an advisory council to the government.
*Government House, formally the official residence of all presidents will now be used as headquarters for government ministries. The new official residence of presidents will be at the Villa in Parque Lenin at the opposite end of Revolution Square.
All nations should now recognise Presidente (formally general) Perez as the Head of State for the People's Republic of Cayo and the Outer Islands. If any national leader has good reason to claim he is not so, then he must officially declare it within 24hrs, or his claim is invalid.
