A length of steel some five feet thick is hoisted a hundred feet into the air and held in place by three cranes. Sixty miles away a radar acquires the steel and guides a now unfolding AALS to the general direction of chunk of metal. Once the four batteries seperate and stabilize, the AALS fires twenty large missiles at the target. The missiles speed downrange in almost no time and penetrate the steel but do not pass through it, moments later the missiles detonate and when the smoke clears the only evidence the the multi-ton plank of steel ever existed was several twisted and charred pieces of metal littering the ground, each no bigger than a person's fist.

"That was the scene on Black Sands Isle today, where the Air Force tested the new Spark 1-B SAM. When asked about the test, Air Marshal Ainsley MacLeod was quoted as saying, 'This is the first test of the new AALS using missiles designed to counter large gravatic threats. We are pleased with the test but still plan to test the new Firehawk missile, which is a TDM dirivative of the Fasthawk cruise missile.'

This test comes as a surprise to many within Scandavian States and is viewed by the more liberal elements within the country as a provacative challenge to Ardan military supremacy. This has been Karita Sorensen reporting, back to you, Ramiro.
