Today the transitional President of No-Dachi Yo, Tomi Kobe, announced that he was to become "President for life"; a move that has brought thousands of people onto the streets to celebrate. Since he claimed power from the oppressive Clan Government three years ago the economy has taken off, with GDP per capita more than tripleing in three years and still rising; however social and political change has been at a much slower pace with civil rights lagging behind compared to other Asian nations.
