In light of the recent brutal slayings of the Credonian first family consisting of President Kaimoni Sutton, First Lady Echo Sutton and their daughter Chassidy Rose Angel Sutton, a new president has been inducted into office. Former Secretary of State Lauren Smith has been sworn in before the Credonian Continental Congress and is now the head of state. She will continue to follow in the steps of President Sutton because of her strong beliefs in everything he stood for. Credonian foreign policy will not change nor will it stop its pursuit of eliminating the terrorists. She also announced to the press that she will be coming for those directly responsible for the assasination of the First family. She has this to say: "Credonia took a severly weakening blow with the assasination of President Sutton, a respected leader within the international community. His legacy will live on forever and future presidents will follow in his footsteps, but none of them will be able to accomplish all that he did. He was surely a great President, a great man, a great husband, and a great father and the entire nation of Credonia will miss him and his family dearly." After giving that statement, she burst into tears and was escorted away by her secret service agents.
Officials within the defense and intellegence departments state that despite the terrorist deterrent, it will not stop Credonia from taking an even more aggressive role towards the erradication of the terrorist. As Secretary of Defense Mitchell Ferguson stated, "The war on terrorism has just begun".
In other news, former President Sutton's son Alexander Nicolas Sutton, the current FBI Director stated his intention to run for President following the remainder of his fathers term which is being served by President Lauren Smith. More news coming soon.
