News for the peoples

Today, the Soviet Congress passed an new bill stating that the rail systems for the most part must be upgraded to modern standards. This is partialy because of tightened Air Polution control laws and because the current rail system is considered antiquated in comparision with most other tranist systems. The new law requests that all diesel locomotives be removed from passenger use and both be regulated to either frieght or military use and upgraded to meet new standards.

Current (Passenger Service):

65% 1960's Diesel Locomotives
30% Coal Burning Steam Locomotives
5% Electric "Lightrail" Locomotives

Projected (Passenger Service):

For long distance travel:
75% Modernized Electric Trains
25% Coal Burning Steam Locomotvies (upgraded to meet Air Polution standards)

For short distance travel:
50% Electric "Lightrail" Locomotives
50% Monorail

Although the country will be able to support such an endavour, the DSUANL is requesting for economic purposes if international donations or support can be made because of the lagging economy. However, the economy is showing signs of imment revival.

"The Second Esamopian Republic would be interested in investing money in your railway improvements."

"Before we commit to anything, however, we must ask a few questions:

1. Is personal transportation using the railroads free for your citizens?
2. Is the transfer of goods using the railroads free?
3. How much can we expect as a return for our investment?
4. Do you have related industries in need of revitalization (such as mining industries, steel factories, and the like?)"

"If your response is deemed acceptable, the Trade Ministry will inform you of our offer."

I more than understand your concern and will be happy to reply to what you said.

1. Is personal transportation using the railroads free for your citizens?
Since the system is ran exclusivly by the government, citizens do not have to pay to use the rail system for either passenger, mail, or goods usage.

2. Is the transfer of goods using the railroads free?
Since all industry and commerce is regulated and operated by the government, having an fee to tranport goods would be silly, we would be paying ourselves.

3. How much can we expect as a return for our investment?
By assisting us, you may open free (but fair) trade with us, all products of Esamopia will be exempted from duties and taxes. Also, the people of Esamopia will be welcomed inside the ANL.

4. Do you have related industries in need of revitalization (such as mining industries, steel factories, and the like?)"
Mining is our second strongest industry, however, we need more efficent steel factories. If you do help us re-vitalize that industry, we will either give you some of the steel produced or give you some of the profits.

If you do decide to help us, we will be greatful and consider your nation as an friendly nation and will hope to continue to trade and have friendly relations for a long time.

While we are glad that Tamazoid Enterprise has taken interest in our public transit systems, the ANL is declining the offer, the system is not for sale.

So far, the new electric trains are amazing. Once the final tests have been done on it, it will immediatly be put into mass production by government facilities.

Send help all!

Russian workers have arrived comrade and are waiting for intructions.

Mr. Merlin, head of the Arilan rail museum, couldn't believe its luck. Steam locomotives in working order, he hadn't seen those in decades.... If only people back then had looked to the future, maybe they wouldn't have scrapped every arilan steamer to be used in the construction of new diesel trains.

Many phonecalls, and several hours later, Mr. Merlin felt confident he had done all he could. It would now be up to Archbishop Salinis of Kaltora, trade advisor to the Arilan Council of Guidance, to make the proper arrangements with the government of DSUANL.

We are glad to see you are so willing to help with our project. Your workers would be very much appriciated if they were to help our engineers that are working on the monorail system with in Veracruz and the southern city of Uxmal. I'll fill your workers in once they are there.

If you want to, you may send workers and represenatives of your nation over to see things. Even if an arangement can not be made, I'm sure we can get some of your people on an train ride on a steam train on the Trans-Aztlan branch, this line runs right through our country and through several mountain passes.
