Screens showing Neo-Mekanta's message flicker a moment, then show five dragon-like heads with a central neck at their core surrounding the center of the screen, looking as if they were going to try to swallow the camera.

WE ARE THE NEW CORE OF NEO-MEKANTA, THE NEW LEADERS OF OUR CIVILIZATION.

WE BRING GOOD TIDINGS TO THE NATIONS OF MAN, AND TO OUR MEKANTAN BROTHERS. THE OLD NEO-MEKANTA'S WAR AGAINST THE NATIONS OF MAN WAS DEVESTATING, BOTH TO US AND TO THE BRAVE NATIONS WHO FOUGHT THE OLD CORE'S GENOCIDAL FORCES. WE WISH TO ISSUE A FORMAL APOLOGY FOR THE INITIAL DESTRUCTION OF THE CENTRAL FACEHUGGERIAN CITY OF ACHIDNA, THE ELECTRONIC ASSAULT AGAINST MEKANTA, AND EVERYONE WHO DIED DURING THAT NEEDLESS WAR.

The transmission flickers, then ends.

The President seen the transmision. Either this was good news, or there was a trick being played. Either way, he was going to closely moniter the situation.

All of Mekanta froze as this message was sent out, everyone watching and listening closely. "This... This is bull... It... it has to be..."

Mekantan Central Command was buzzing with activity, the most since the end of the war, at Neo-Mekanta's last transmission. A commander barked orders rapidly. "I want a trace on that signal! We can't ignore the possibility that this is a trick! Send transmissions out to Central Facehuggeria, LAO, and Tayricht!"

"Intrigueing. I'm not sure if we should believe it. I mean, the core did try to annhilate us once."

"But what if it really has changed?"

"Its more likely that it it trying to placate us while it repairs its military for another invasion."

"We have to give peace a chance. Just in case, I want the teams to make repair of the Phalanx main guns a priority. We may need to use them on any invasion fleet. Put the manufacturing and hydrophonics on hold. Focus on getting the guns up."

"Yes Premier."

Meanwhile, in the CF Hammer research institute;
Doctor Enis was running through the halls, screaming "I've Found it!" He ran right into the confrence room like this.
"Slow down, Doctor. You've found what?"

"The energy shield project! I've figured it out! Instead of trying to come up with a bulky power source and emitter, like we were trying to do. I decided to try to make an enery asorbing field that will actually trap some of the directed energy going into it to replenish the stregnth! The net result is that, depending on the size of the emitter, it will take a proportionately larger amount of energy to penetrate the field than the emitter is capable of asorbing. This means that our men will be better protected from energy attacks, as will our ships. I've named these new shields 'Accumulators', and they should be fairly easy to make. Expensive (due to certain parts), but easy to assemble."

"This is a rather fortiuitous discovery, Doctor. We have just recieved a message from Neo-Mekanta."

"You mean the psycho robots?"

"The same. Apparently they have 'changed their ways.' We are being careful, after all, they did kill several million CF citizens."

The emporer of Aust looked at the message, "humm, get me a line to central Facehugger, Mekanta, and any other participants in that war."
"Yes Sir!" That war had been devistating, Aust forces had arrived to late to be any help but he could still see the pictures from the vid screen of the carnage. "Commander AK"

"Put forces on red alert. See whats going on."

"The 'new' Neo-Mekantan core has transmitted the following audiovisual data to Mekanta. We believe it may be beneficial to show it..."

The transmission shows the four legged core being torn apart by several larger tentacles. Its torso is left with nothing but its head attached as it looks up. The camera swivles around to show the new core looking down at it, its five heads perfectly still.

FOR YOUR SINS AGAINST THE NEO-MEKANTAN UNITY, AGAINST YOUR PURPOSE, AND AGAINST THE INNOCENT... WE SENTANCE YOU TO DEATH...

The old core makes a screeching sound as streams of plasma issue from the draconic core's mouths, melting the old core down. The new core turns two of its heads to each side as the center one bows.

WE WISH TO SEND A PEACEFUL DELEGATE TO THE EARTH TO MEET WITH THOSE THE OLD CORE HAS HURT... IS THIS ACCEPTABLE...?

"Mekanta wishes to know what the other nations think... We do not trust them..."

"Intresting. Well, if it wants peace, we should at least here what it has to say!"

"But, what if it is a trap?"

"We'll keep on guard, just to be safe."

"Also, our allies have tracked the transmission to the asteroid belt."
"So we know the general area to send our nukes too when this group betrays us?"
"First off, we don't know they will betray us, and secondly, the asteroid belt is huge. You wouldn't know where to look."

Transmission to Neo-Mekanta:
"We will accept your ambassador in the hopes that we can further the somewhat strained relations between our two peoples. You may send him to the following coordinates. *Coordinates sent.* However, we hope you understand if we take every precaution.

Transmission to Imperial Mekanta:
"We have decided to allow the Neo-Mekantan diplomat to enter our nation. Don't worry, we'll keep him under watch, and he won't be able to access any of our computer systems."

We wish to express our views that a Neo-Mekanta delegate should be sent to nutral grounds and also that he/she/it is kept under clsoe guard and that scans are run on the astaroid feild at all times. We would also like to request that CF or Mekanta sends a probe into space to surch for the astaroid belt.

Aust accepts a single diplomate only and that the diplomate from Neo-Mekanta is non-armed and must land there craft on the HMS Balka in the pacific ocian.

General Axis stands in view in the transmission, ready to speak. He barely opens his mouth, however, when Adjutant, covered in wounds that look like ones caused by a whip, stumbles and falls into Central Command. The transmission immediately cuts out as Axis turns.

Later, Commander Wolfe, the third-highest military official, gives a message.

"We have recieved instructions from the Emperor of Mekanta. We will not only not allow any Neo-Mekantan scum to enter the Holy Empire's territory, but all Imperial units have orders to destroy Neo-Mekantan diplomats on sight if they are not under guard by our allies. Our Holy War against Neo-Mekanta has not been forgotten, and your crimes that caused your initial split will not be forgiven."

"We offer Neo-Mekanta the chance to surrender... or die... We do not believe your claims of having destroyed your Central Directive Core, and are already sending deep space probes to find your base of operations. With or without the support of our allies... You will pay for your 'Unity' and its crimes..."
