We cannot trust the same sneaky bastards that had almost annihilated the Chinese race in WWII as they have recently tried to repeat their age old dream. Their anti-Chinese racism lies in their genetics; they hate the Chinese race as much as Nazis are programmed to hate Jews!

it is of high recommendation that _Taiwan's forces should thrust into this area, liberate the Chinese there, and either enslave or kill off all the aliens there!!!

We recommend bloodshed to be the form of the concentration camps, where Bonstockians, whether civilian or prisoners of war, shall either work to their deaths or be systematically eliminated.

[OOC: uhh...the point of Nazi and WW2 Japanese thought(I stress World War Two, which didn't happen in NS history, as RL history and NS history don't coincide) was that Genetics dictated the superiority of certain races, namely Aryan and Japanese. This is the thinking that led to Jewish concentration camps and Japanese(not Japannese!) atrocities in WW2, like the Rape of Nanking. However, to continue in this thinking and believe that anti-Chinese sentiment is inherent to Japannese is to continue in the infamous line of Hitler.

The killing of Bonstockian Civilians and POW's? Why? A better question would be, if conquored by the now humbled country of Bonstock(no matter what he says) wouldn't you wish for mercy?]

OOC: We see NS as a time period of 2030-. So, the terrors of WWII did happen.

We should move on and RP diplomatic negotiations soemwhere, preferably somewhere under heavy guard so that no more morons can disturb us (ahem Red Tide form last time, ahem)

And Spyr's words concerning Bonstockian Naval vessels is very disturbing...

Spyr seconds the proposal of Tokyo for the negotiations. As we proposed earlier when there was still the need to negotiate Bonstockian withdrawal from Japann, the Hama Detatched Palace Garden, centered around Nakajima Teahouse, is both a scenic location and one with the history and facilities to support such a negotiation.

The facility was not damaged severly during conflict in Tokyo, and vital repairs are complete, though landscaping work (removing unsightly marks such as tank tracks) has remained unfinished due to resource concentrations elsewhere.

Security would be a simple matter of a full sweep for foreign systems, and securing the Detatched Garden outer perimeter.

Hudecia supports the idea of a negotiation in Tokyo.

However, we remain cautious of Bonstock, especially considering his new advanced warships and plans to build more.

I propose that Hudecia and Spyr take over security for the conference, and that armed bodyguards will not be allowed (we don't want to debate turning into a shooting war  literally).

"I do not particularly appreciate the use of Tokyo for the talks," Premier Park announced, speaking for her government today. "I will not allow my diplomats in the same room as Bonstockians without armed guards or at least, arms. Period. To do so is to send them into the hands of certain death."

"However, if there were several rapid response teams stationed around the compound, from various AR nations, then we may talk," General Sung added.

"I would prefer that we be allowed to hold talks in Iuthia," said Foreign Minister Qiao.

A transmission is sent to members of the Asian Resistance, except for Sino.

Bonstock is starting to fear the influence of Sino. Like Red Tide, that nation does not seem at all commited to peace. We fear for the future security of East Asia should they be allowed to continue their rhetoric.

I ask that our nations sign a non-aggression pact. Our nations have been too long at war. While we know you do not trust us, we ask you to set aside the differences caused by the war. We would be much more productive together.

I ask for greater trading rights with the Asian Resistance nations, and free trade. If this is accomplished, it will not only benefit your companies, but we will also agree to pay more damages to the _Taiwanese government for our activities against Taipei. Instead of the 25 billion USD we were going to pay, we will pay 100 billion, and Bonstocknian companies will give an unspecified but large investment to _Taiwan's information technology sector. We will also promise large investments to Japann to get their economy back on track.

But we also offer another agreement. A thorough investigation of the Maropian Defense Forces Artillery Regiments have revealed certain men who could be held responsible for the Tiapei Smerch incident. We are willing to turn them over to you after a courtmartial by us. In return, we ask for a small favor: Bonstocknian companies would like the right to drill for oil in the South China Sea.

This is very difficult indeed.

Let Bonstock return Maropian Coast and we may have a trade agreement.

NO DMZ.

Taiwan gets Maropian Coast at a reasonable time.
Tariffs on Bonstock will be removed or lowered, depends on what country, if Xiaguo, there will always be a small tariff. :)
Bonstock will take no part in the new Japannese GOVERNMENT, but may be allowed to assist and work with the bussinesses and Trade.
Bonstock will pay large amounts to the Japannese Government.
Bonstock's debt to Taiwan's Taipei will be cut half if the Maropian Coast is scheduled for return.
Bonstock may invest huge sums in Taiwan.

Japann is now Independent.
Xiaguo has proposed to rebuild Japann exactly as it use to have look and to build a memorial commemorating their Independence.
Japann will have a National Army.
Japann will be based on a Republic as Agreed by Everyone.
Japann will not have tariffs on trades because, Japann may be needing an amount of supplies before it can get back up on top.
Japann will have an oppurtunity to apply for membership within the Asian Alliance.
The Nation to help Japann rebuild their Government should be _Taiwan.
Each nation will have to submit a number of Millitary Units to japann, is 6,000 each ok? It will be to help train and re-modernize the Japannese Army.

I agree with Maropian Coast's NON-AGRESSION PACT,
For the Pact. We may not station any Troops in any Country but only in case of war.

Conditions of the treaty were that Maropian Coast would remain part of Bonstock. It is, after all, the Federal Republic of Bonstock, Maropian Coast, and the Sakishima Islands.

ooc: And as Spyr well pointed out, Maropian Coast has a larger population then _Taiwan. If it were "returned" to _Taiwan, then Maropian voters would outnumber other _Taiwanese, and since Maropians almost unanimously want to remain part of Bonstock, they would probably vote for _Taiwan to become a Bonstocknian dependent/colony.

Still, in that case, the combanation of _Taiwanese and Maropians would outnumber Bonstocknians, and with the rapid diversification of the Bonstocknian populace, Bonstock would be virtually ruled by _Taiwan.

Of course, this is all speculative. And in reality, none of this can really happen in NS. Maropian Coast is my account, and I don't think _Taiwan wants a new account, considering he has 10 and MC is my only other account currently active.

Darnit, Akibura hated? Saddam-like hated, or really, truely hated? I mean, no one in Iraq really liked Saddam, but most Iraqis seem to hate the Americans much more, and would much rather have Saddam then Bremer.

Then again, we could make this more interesting... Akibura's offspring could gain support... his two sons get holed up in a compound, and get shot up by our soldiers. Or, we could have one of them flee to another country, and start a terrorist organization deticated to making Japann an imperialist power. It might be interesting if one of Akibura's daughters finds a bunch of BSS agents to sex up, and in return gets support for terrorist operations, and causes a scandal sorta like the Iran-Contra affair in Bonstock...

Just some ideas.

Taiwan gets Maropian Coast at a reasonable time.
[OOC: As mentioned, this is difficult logistically. Perhaps a hundred-year plan would work, since the post-Civil-War nationalism towards Bonstock will be replaced by regionalism eventually, especially with increased contact and trade between the Coast and _Taiwan. However, I tend to suspect that sort of RP isnt going to occur here...]

Bonstock will pay large amounts to the Japannese Government.
Spyr wishes to suggest that this be a guaranteed cash payment, as normal aid payments may either be delayed-payout, or more frequently, made in equal-value goods, and neither option will assist Japann in the ways it requires.

Japann is now Independent.
Xiaguo has proposed to rebuild Japann exactly as it use to have look and to build a memorial commemorating their Independence.
Japann will have a National Army.
Japann will be based on a Republic as Agreed by Everyone.
Spyr suggests that Japann has an existing constitution and framework, and that these should be restored and free elections held. Rebuilding should occur, with restoration of monuments, but the most cost-effective technologies and methods should be used. This may result in a change in the appearance of some parts of Japann, as more modern facilities are erected, but damage to much of Japann was not particularly bad, thanks to the careful planning of Asian nations and the quick withdrawal of Bonstock.

The Nation to help Japann rebuild their Government should be _Taiwan.

[OOC: I know _Taiwan controlls the Japann account, so out-of-character this makes sense, but in-character its rather silly... _Taiwan itself was hit hard in the war, and is thus facing its own difficulties... it must devote finances and manpower to reconstruction. Plus, it must deal with whatever occurs in final relation to Maropian Coast. It would be far more sensible to have a multilatral reconstruction, spearheaded by Hudecia (who seems to be concentrating on the electoral/legislative reconstuction) and Spyr (as we're concentrating on rebuilding the bureaucracy). Once nations have spent approximately a year making sure new elections occur smoothly, all can depart Japann.

_Taiwan should, of course, RP Japann, as it is his account... but he should RP it from a Japanese perspective].

Each nation will have to submit a number of Millitary Units to japann, is 6,000 each ok? It will be to help train and re-modernize the Japannese Army.
Spyr wil prepare a team of military advisors and training staff who will assist in this effort to renew Japann's national military forces. These units shall be withdrawn once this task is complete.

I agree with Maropian Coast's NON-AGRESSION PACT,
For the Pact. We may not station any Troops in any Country but only in case of war.
The ones who signed must help prevent others from being aghressive. hint hint, sino..

We believe that, once reconstruction is complete, there should be a moratorium placed upon extranational troop deployments, with no nation deploying troops in another (i.e. in _Taiwan or Japann) except in case of war or internal turmoil. This should also apply to Bonstock vis-a-vis Maropian Coast, and vice-versa.
All nations should also sign a mutual non-aggression pact, with any who refuse penalized through full trade embargoes and other neccessary actions.
In addition, perhaps some explanation from Bonstock as to why they plan to build ten super-battleships?

Then again, we could make this more interesting... Akibura's offspring could gain support... his two sons get holed up in a compound, and get shot up by our soldiers.

[OOC: Hehe... I doubt the sons of a Japanese PM would be figures around which that sort of stuff would coalesce.... though, if they had cash and a few ex-Imperialist army officers, maybe... but Akibura has pretty much nothing in common with Saddam, other than they both were in charge of nations which lost wars...

As I see it, from my understanding of Japanese politics goes, this is a likely scenario for Akibura's rise (no offence meant if Japann's player had a differnt scenario... just a suggestion).

1) Japann's recession economy takes another slight downturn due to the quick emergences of alliance/trade blocks in Asia (United China, Asian Alliance, Lyong Treaty Alliance, possibly others). This makes many people in Japann feel more conservative and less trustful of government.

2) The current PM of Japann, head of the largest faction within the LDP, and many of his ministers, are caught in a massive bribery/corruption scandal. This destroys public confidnce in that faction, forcing resignations across the board.

3) An election occurs, with voters supporting conservative candidates, some of whom belong to the neo-con movement, and a very few of whom are imperialists.

4) The LDP holds its majority in the election, but the liberal/socialist elements within it are reduced in strength. In-fighting and rivalry prevent leaders from either of the two leading conservative factions from taking the PM spot. Akibura, leader of the neocon faction, comes up the middle and is selected... the general populace and LDP assume he will not openly follow his past imperialist philosophy... they are wrong.

5) With support from his neocon faction of the LDP, some of the other conservative LDP and Diet members, the small historical-revisionist movements in the general population, and certain ambitious young military officers, Akibura begins to try and reform Japann back into an imperialist state, passing national-mobilization bills and other law, culminating in the increase in military spending which opened the first thread of this conflict.

6) Most of his reforms did not get a chance to take effect... foreign efforts overwhelm him too quickly, but he likly still has support in the surviving young officers, revisionists, and neocon groups, plus a cash reserve accumulation which he can draw upon. This means his base of support is very small, but likel has a lot of money... if it does come down to terrorism, itll be kinda scary.]

Report on Post-War Japann

*Economic*
Japannese companies took massive losses after the confiscation of investments in China. Currently, five listed banks have bad debts in excess of 50% of their portfolio. Another two, Dai-Ichi Bank and Sumitomo Bank have around 25% bad debts in portfolio. While the war was the main factor in the accumulation of bad debts, the decade-long sharemarket reccesion is also partly responsible, as are bad banking practices.

On the first day of the reopening of the stockmarket, the Nikkei index gained 5% of the value, reaching a six month high but a mere 14% of it's heights in the mid 80s.

The most disturbing find however, was the disappearance of $400m USD worth of gold from a Tokyo vault.

*Geopolitical*
Following the attack on Tokyo, several high-ranking members of the LDP and Akibura disappeared. Exhaustive searches in Tokyo have found nothing, and they are presumed dead. Polls taken after the surrender indicated the LDP is down to a 2% approval rating. Anti-western sentiment is at an all-time high after the occupation by Red Tide forces. Anti-Sino sentiment is also very high, but more restricted. Partisan movement ceased after an appeal by the Emperor.

Elections are on the agenda for the emperor, although no set date has been announced.

The Hudecian troops guarding headquarters were naturally quite annoyed by a lot of the treatment they were receiving at the hands of the Japanese.

It wasn't just the usual 'oh look there's foreigners', now it seemed they were openly hostile to them. Passerbys glared at the caucasian troops in full combat gear, even a few younger ones would spit on them as they passed by.

But it wasn't just the average citizens that were engaging in this. When Japanese politicians needed to speak to Kimura, they would insist that he come meet them on the other side of town. And if any Japanese citizen had to visit the building they would yell insults at the guards on the way in.

High command had tried to secure Japanese police officers to guard the building but so far the police were unco-operative.

As the morning rays and the light has reached to the Japannese city of Tokyo. Everyone thought it was a mere dream. No airplanes flying over above, not much automobiles were sounding, and not much shooting and explosions. Yes, there may be some shots still heard and a few shhh's from the guns, but not much of a big deal now.
As thus had happened to China before, Chinese grew hate toward the Westerners for helping them and hurting them as shown as of the pium trade. Now Japann has hated the foreigners for even coming here and not reminded the fact we tried..

As 7:00 rings in the distance, the newly organized Japannese Army, which had therefore recovered from the war marches through the city after dbrees had been removed. Trumpets were sounded, and a band marches with them toward the streets and Japannese crowds were lined up to watch the event. The whole parade contained bands of armies from the Asian Alliance. Flags were carried and so did the banners. Most of the crowds are Pro-Foreign.
The Japannese Police also had their first day of working to protect the citizens early this morning, after funds from international communities, they are up and going and re-organised.
The Japannese Subway which still ran during the war is now fixed up and new, the tracks are cleared of debris and shells. Most of the major streets are cleared and you would see many cars drive by, but not as much.
All seems better now.

As this had brought to the Attention of John Kim, our foreign affairs minister.
"Passorts. I think its perfect, unless the Japannese government resume the Passport programs, many foreign citizens may have trouble and get te harder ends of getting to Japann. Many Xiannese have complained they needed to visit Relatives living in japann, wanting tio view how Japann is so far, and what ever they had need to go had complained that geting there was a very hard [adventure]. The airport checking in staff would need 4 things! A Document signed by the Xiannese Government which can be obtained in City Halls, a clear statement of why you are coming which needs to be approved by the Japannese Consulate, a doctor's note on a body check-up, and a passport which they have to take and scan and ask many questions about because of the un-organised Airports. How about it, we have to take the Airport into the agenda first as to it is very hard-able to have our citizens going into Japann. "

OOC:Japann, have an airport Tax, it'll raise your income alright.

That will be entirely Taiwan's call. He was hurt the most, and he will gain some measure of justice from this, but if you ask me, it sounds more like some kind of extortion.

However, if Bonstock turns over its warcriminals and has its companies move into the South China Sea, I can only give them permission to drill within Islandian controlled areas in the Paracels and Spratlys (most of the Spratlys are also held by AG). Also, Bonstock may not station troops in the South China Sea, and Islandian companies will still hold their current petroleum areas. We will share with you, but if you dry us out ahead of schedule, we'll be pissed.

Nonetheless, the Spratlys and Paracels are disputed territories, so I suppose we will share, if only a little bit...

Hudecian diplomats begin to research the idea of resurrecting the 'foreigner registry'. As discriminatory as the diplomats feel that it is, they are anxious to return Japan to the way it was before the wars and let the Japanese decide from there what to do.

Should the 'foreigner registry' be reintroduced, it would require that all persons staying in Japan register themselves at a government office as soon as possible if they are not a Japanese citizen. Foreigners caught without proper registration can be jailed for up to 24 hours while the police contact the citizen's embassy.
Agrigento
09-02-2004, 01:24
Progress has been made, and all Agrigentian troops not attached to the Occupational Forces are being withdrawn from Japan. In laymen's terms the First Theatre Operational Maneuver Group is being slowly brought home.

Despite the decelerating of military momentum in the region the public is still calling for war. Thousands have taken to the streets, with signs and megaphones in hand. The Government has found itself in a rather precariously position, stuck between the metaphoric "rock and a hard place".

Chants are heard in almost every major Piazza and Centro di Commerciale across the Country. When interviewed ordinary Agrigentian citizens have cited that the main reason for this a concern for the future of this conflict. One shop owner said, "I don't trust that Adolphus, I don't trust him one bit". Another man, a stockbroker from Murano, said, "Well, as it stands, Bonstock has nothing to profit, and all to lose. Once they make a recovery, once we bring our soldiers back, they will just strike again, with all of Asia ripe for the picking. Its nothing more than sound fiscal policy."

So far, the Government has not reacted to public opinion, but it is clear that people do not trust Bonstock, and it will be along time for faith in their one time ally to return.

Once again, the inferior Chen, bastardized by Japanese blood, has decided to sell the resources of China short. Taiwan only has a place in the South China Seas if it agrees to be part of China. As they offer to allow Bonstockians- our arch-enemies drill for oil there, it has become increasingly apparent that Chen and his cronies have been not only appeasing this beast but further more, feeding it with the flesh of our own people! The Sinoese Military Junta strongly stands behind our brothers in Taiwan who are tired of the Chenist defeatism and treachery. All Chinese rally behind the banner of Sino!

Any attempts of Bonstock in drilling oil in the South China Seas will not be approved by Sino, and their manouvre against our restriction will result in tragic consequences. Once against we belive that our words of warning will onl flow into one ear of Adolphus and then come out again on the other.

The Spyran soldiers fare somewhat better than their Hudecian counterparts in their relations to the Japannese populace. Their Asian appearance marks them as, if not natives, at least not the Westerners who also formed Red Tide and some of Bonstock. The Spyrans and Japannese communicate through basic English, some Spyrans using various levels of Japannese, but most notably through the ideographic character set they share (as do the Chinese).

However, the Spyrans are quickly aware that they are still foreigners, if on the borderline of acceptability, and other than the occasional socialist or young woman looking for a less patriarchal culture, the Japannese will be glad when theyre gone.

This article appears in the Pila Times the day after the event;

HP - Visiting a Tokyo nightclub late in the evening several Hudecian soldiers became embroiled in a fist-fight that had to be broken up by Japanese police and Hudecian MPs.

Apparently, the Japanese proprietors refused to allow the Hudecians in, because they were visibly caucasian. The obstinate Hudecians refused to leave. That is when several patrons began yelling insults at the soldiers. The soldiers responded in kind, and soon, words gave way to fists.

Hudecian High Command has been seriously troubled by these latest events and has for now, barred all Hudecian troops from travel outside camps at night.

Although charges are not expected to be laid, the Hudecians involved will be reassigned to another unit and will return home.

I think the thought is absolutly impossible as Bonstock has just proven the hate of the Taiwanese people toward the Bonstockians not including Sino of course and trade should be brought toward both parties? Yes, but right now? Doubtful, No.

There is a long way to go. Someone has just stabbed you, you almost died and now people urge you to be friends?

I do hope that there may be peace, but the thing I'm most afraid of is Sino's Agression toward Bonstock. I hope the agression Pact can be signed and ratified soon so that Sino may have something to not look forward to. Not to be picking off Sino, but not like I can, Sino is pretty agressive in his Foreign Policies. I hope Sino can remain in a peaceful state until the Post-War efforts may be conducted.
-President Dao Min Ju, letter to the Asian Alliance. Also Forwarded to Sino, Japann, Bonstock, Red Tide, and Maropian Coast.

I ASK ALL ASIAN ALLIANCE MEMBERS to report to the Asian Alliance Conference in Xiaguo. We will have to take on another issue. This one is big, bigger than Bonstock and re dTide. 5 Civilised nations have just declared war on the Region China and the ones who controll China. We mustn't let this happen, I have started some peace talks with Fived Civilised Nations. He had already invaded some islands. Please read this thread

"A move we have known some weeks before becoming public knowledge." General Liu flips through the morning newspaper. Speaking in a slight mumble to his secretary. "Looks like my preparations are up to scratch."

He opens a desk drawer and looked down at the T75, lying dormant inside.

Japann

Spyran military forces have finished departure from Japann, as they no longer seem needed. Reconstruction forces, whose work also seems complete, are preparing to follow, though private Spyran corporations are remaining to continue participation in the Japannese economy as it returns to a profitable state.

Senior Spyran diplomats now staff the PRS embassy in Tokyo, and a consulate has been opened in Niigata.
